I love my Maxspect AD600. Such a well thought out design, super compact, no standpipe, integrated silencer. Pulls more skimmate then my old Vertec and much quieter with a smaller footprint. So easy to dial in with DC pump and knob. The pump quality is on par with my Vectra M2.
I haven’t used as many skimmers as RB, but the Jump 400 is my 4th skimmer, and I have to say it’s the best of the bunch! You almost don’t know how good a skimmer can be until you get something quality like this one. Jake I think you nailed it showcasing all the advantages of the Jump. Especially the breakdown, when something is easy to do you’re more likely to do it. 🤓
Innovative design, especially the silicone components. Was waiting to see how the pump disassebled. TG, they didn't build it like their gyre pumps for disassembly! Also, innovative T-shirt!
Nice review. I have a Aeraqua Duo and have recently bought a Royal Exclusive skimmer and I can honestly say that the Maxspect is much more stable, much more consistent and produces a lot more skimmate. I guess no one ever says something like this because no one wants to admit that they spent a ton of cash for nothing 😁. Back to the Maxpect, one thing I find curious is that although this Jump SK800 is rated at 1800lph (waterflow) and 800lph (air) compared to the Aeraqua Duo’s 2400lph/1500lph water/air, the tank size ratings are actually higher on the sk800 (900/2700 high/low stocking) vs the Aeraqua Duo (400L/1700L high/Low Stocking)
Great review Jake! I’m torn between the Jump SK400 and the Aeraqua Duo for my 100 gal. Do you think the Aeraqua Duo would be too over powered on a 100 gal?
After having mine for a while now I'm having issues with the water level adjustment. It seems to get stuck and when you rotate the dial it will turn but the gate doesn't move other than that its been amazing.
Finally a suitable replacement for the first blue model they have with terrible sharp right angle venturis that clogged. These orange ones are properly designed.
Dope review! After watching this, I’m now contemplating between the Jump 400 and a Nyos Q160. Leaning more towards the Jump with what it has to offer especially being DC powered.
@@MelbourneReefer I’ve never owned one but I would agree from the looks of things. Plus, being DC powered for a price point of $400US dollars. Not bad at all by Maxspect. I’m impressed!
Jake, are you going to fill us in on what happened to WWC as your sponsor. This is the first video where I didn't see that little blip you've been throwing in there. Maybe cover it in the next Reef Therapy. Looks like a great skimmer. Hopefully they come out with more sizes.
@REEFBUILDERS jake help me i have dinos and i tested for iron and i had a test of 0 so i added some iron and its still looks like 0 the next day. should i keep dosing and testing?
Well I never seen a skimmer that didn't needed a tune in delay, within the first hours I was getting a start of a dirty cup. It is near silent and to be honest your review made the difference for me to get it or not. I am from Montreal and had to drive down to Toronto to get it (6h drive). Was all worth it Thank you Jake
Hi, how does the sk800 compare size-wise to the aeraqua duo? I have the latter and search a bigger one, since my bioload is too big for the aeraqua duo
The Aeraqua Duo is a little bit oval in its footprint so the 800 rounds that out for a little bit bigger volume to the body, and it's rated for a somewhat larger tank but they're pretty close in foam production overall
what's the main difference between maxspect aqaduo and jump skimmer ? are they both same over performance? does they connect icv6 controller both of them?
the main difference is that the Aeraqua Duo has a wireless and programmable controller whereas the Jump skimmers are only controller locally (manually)
@@ReefBuildersVideo Excellent to know that. Performance wise its the same u can say? also in gyre jump series and gyre 300x series i will jump series are more focused on budget friendly whereas the original product like 300x series gyre or aquadeo skimmer is like premium made. Not sure whats your thoughts on it

Great video, I miss Jake! He was the best!
Couldn’t agree more, I have the 400 and it’s the best skimmer I’ve had. A true set it and forget it skimmer that is super easy to clean👌
🚨 SPRUNG FOR PRESIDENT 🚨
Great video! I just picked up an SK-400 for a new tank. Can't wait to see set it up and see it running.

Definitely going to look into one of these if my old Bubble Magus kicks the bucket! Really interesting design and nice features.
Great video Jake, can you tell everyone were to get the shirt please
So awesome. Very sleek design and well made product review. Great job dude!
Another in depth breakdown of the latest and greatest. 👍🏴

My SK400 does the same. It is a real shame in an otherwise great skimmer.

I NEED THAT SHIRT!
were can i get it

Nyos' Quantum series are in need of a refresh imo. They produce decent skimmate but lack safety features.

Is it Ozone compatible? Some say yes and some say no..
When will the SK-800 be available to purchase? I can't find it anywhere.

Yup your amazing work with this video confirms me that it will be my next skimmer! where can I buy that in Canada?

10/10 for the skimmer!
Do you think you could do a CO2 scrubber easily with this protein skimmer?
Yeah definitely as there are little air nipples on the silencer to connect to
I NEED that shirt!
Love the shirt.
Hello Jake, I wish you could do a review on the Deltec fleece filter. ps: cool t shirt :-)

Amazing Skimmer best I have had . 5*
Forget the skimmer - where do I get the T-shirt?! 😂
What size tank would you recommend it for with a heavy bio load ?
150 to 200 gallons I'd say
It’s not a want… it’s a NEED for that J. Sprung a t shirt. How?!?! How do I get one

Ay bro, on your deep water accropora do you have them in fast water flow?? How direct is the water flow to the power-head?
moderate flow, moderate light

dose this skimmer connected to icv6 ?
No wireless with this one
I don’t remember hearing what size tank it’s rated for.
Jake where is the skimmer manufactured ?
China
