This is like the best cooking channel. Watch out network tv. Dave is in house 👏🏻🤤
I’d love to see u cook something with your Mom. Now THAT would be entertaining!
😂
My wife & I loved the video! She read the recipe and noticed that when it said to repeat the layers, it didn’t specify how many times, leaving her to believe just once. We think that 3rd layer of noodles was too much lol. Nevertheless we love watching you, thanks for keeping us entertained! 👍🏼 suggestion for the next worlds best recipe: Tiramisu
Edit…just noticed the recipe says 12 noodles haha…we’ll blame it on being hangry and the recipe taking 2 days to make.
Hilarious! Love it!! Enchiladas next?
Flat leaf Italian parsley is significantly different than regular, which many consider a garnish. When a recipe calls for it I'd recommend getting fresh Italian parsley. It actually has an aroma.
I really like your kitchen Dave. Request- world best mashed potatoes.
Great suggestion!
I put my spices in the meat as it's cooking. Add Shredded Mozz to the ricotta (yes the egg is necessary). And No I've never gotten a full 3rd layer
Always mix the leftover parts into their own yummy concoction. I've made Lasagna for about 30 years
I am making this right now! Let's hope it turns out. My husband and I watched this, and he said you have to make this tomorrow lol so here I am. We love all your content even T2C - You are my favorite (shhhh 🤫don't tell Kevin) I will let ya know how mine turned out
llooll! I love this so much :-) looks yummy
It looks great, and even the crunchy.
Your channel is really growing. I was number 20 and you are now over 1000.
Love when you make yourself laugh hahahaha
He's a riot. Always a pick me up when I'm not having the best day! ☺ 💗
Putting butter on the foil is literally the definition of greasing it.
I'm really enjoying watching you cook. I surprised myself. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much
The crispy parts are good too
The crispy corners and the edges of noodles that get a little well done are my favorite! So delish
Dave, I made pancakes because of you and now gonna have to do lasagna! Great video! 👍
Hi Dave lol I just watched dumpsterdiving momof2. She was making a dinner and lol she reminds me of you. I told her that you both should have a cook off. Can you imagine garage sale vs dumpster diving. So cool I live your videos and remind me of me. I was always fluffing up when my ex was teaching me how to cook. When I say fluff up I mean not organized and lol alot of questions. Have fun I will always watch
That Dutch oven needs to be seasoned, but the lasagna looks great! And the "That's aggressive." when choosing a knife made me laugh, lol.
Hey Dave from San Antonio Texas 🙋🏻♀️
I have been wanting some of this
its a journey
Looking forward to try this recipe, a lot of work 😅, but looking yummy yummy 😋
Enjoyed the comedy show! Love the video! Lasagna is a time consuming meal....haven't made it in years.
There is a non-stick foil available. I serve my lasagna with extra sauce on top...just a thought. Love watching all of your channels!
Non-stick aluminum foil is seriously one of the best inventions ever made! Great idea to putting the sauce on top! Thanks!
omg, I loved loved loved loved loved Mc'Donald's pizza, it was in a class of it's own
When you add salt before the water boils, puts pits in the stainless steel...😉
I literally just found your channel by UA-cam recommended you for your Marry Me chicken recipe and then I watch your elevated Marry Me chicken recipe. I find you funny, REAL and oh so down to earth to watch. Get ‘er done comes (to my knowledge first) from the movie Carrie. When John Travolta said (at the pig slaying for the blood to put in the bucket) that phrase. Maybe not, but that’s when I remember it. Will be watching more videos here!
Suggestion for next recipe fettuccine Alfredo 😊👍
Excuse me? Garfield DOES love his lasagna. He is very much still alive.
now I am hungry.............
Hi Dave 👋 I think you said in the beginning 1/3 of mozzarella. Also, I read acidic foods, like the tomato sauce cooked in cast iron can cause pitting. That looks soooooo yummy!
I always put more sauce on the top layer of noodles, then cheese. Also I have never overlapped my noodles.
Watched a few of these cooking videos Lol so funny🤣😅
You do a great job of just being a normal guy cooking a dish.
🔪🧄🥘🍅
Love the way you choose to make do with what you have..
we all do that!! 👍🤔😉🙃
There's Greek parsley...Italian parsley and Chinese parsely (aka cilantro)...that I know of... Italian is the best to use in 90% of the recipes I use...
Put some oil in the water with the salt, that should keep your pasta from sticking together!
Re: the Tupperware measuring spoon. That's meant for liquid - up to the line and then up to the top of the spoon for dry. There are actually two liquid spoons(one Tbsp & Tsp) in every Tupperware measuring spoon sets. That's why there are seven spoons per set. I love them for that reason.
Thank you. You did a great job with this. I (a guy from Central Kentucky) was taught by a guy from New York City how to make a true lasagnE. This was so far away from a great recipe. God Bless and stay safe.
"I will most probably burn myself" that sounds so familiar 🤔🎶
I make more or less the same lasagna, but
I do a proper Italian sauce (with Italian herbs).
Then I don't use soft cheese.. I do make a 3 in one cheese sauce ( mozzarella , yellow cheddar and parmesan, just melt it in a cup of cream on the stove) .. And keep some separate for the Top..
The pasta I only soak in Luke warm water and don't overlap,
First layer is sauce ( nice good layer)
Second is single layer pasta,
Third is half of the cheese sauce,
Fourth another layer pasta,
Fifth rest of the meat sauce..
Sixth layer of pasta..
Seventh is the topping..
Rest of the cheese sauce and topped with the grated cheese..
Cover with foil..
In the oven (180° C) for 40 minutes..
Pasta will be cooked and topping melted..
Remove the foil.. And 5 minutes under the grill..
Now don't dish up yet.. Place it on the counter and loosely put the foil over it..
Make your salad and dressing..
The sauce would have settled nicely and you can actually slice blocks from the lasagna dish.. Lift with a egg lifter..
Bon Appétit 😋🎶💕
Soome people use a bit of oil when boiling pasta to keep it from sticking together. I also think if the noodles had not been overlapped as that it would of been better. I know I won't try this after your opinion of it. Thank you, Dave!!!
Thank you for your honesty…and for laughing through the time it took to make that. I don’t think some good old Texas Toast could have saved that.
Dave put your extra sauce over the top on the plate while it is still warm.
I remember McDonald's having pizza. It was only available in limited test areas.
Lots of people thought I was crazy too. The pizza was a flop. I think it took too long to bake. This caused road rage in the drive thru!! 😡
I crack up watching you cook.....and died with they had extra cheese I don't know where they got it from.....lol....
Didn’t even watch the whole thing yet but u get my 👍🏾
It looks like it had too many noodle layers but will definitely follow your advice and try the recipe on the side of the Barrilla box 😊👍
as for the Ricotta I believe you were reading the recipe right but understanding it incorrectly... to me when I listened to it for the first layer you use "half" the ricotta mixture. For the next layer you would have used "half" of the half you had left, leaving you 1/4 of the original mixture for the third layer. I could be wrong but to me its the only way that makes sense using "half" of the mixture! I love all your videos! Thanks for taking the time to put all this great content out!
Interesting! that could be it
❤❤❤
When you get thru cooking in your cast iron I always put a little maybe 1/2 T of oil into pot and rub it in with a paper towel all over the inner pot! Wipe it out and that’s how I store mine!
My 13 year old son and I watch all your episodes and my son wants you try making banana bread
I make the recipe often. The sausage used makes a big difference. I tried it once with ground sausage and it definitely changed the taste. If you use high quality beef and very lean, the fat is minimal. Don’t drain. Use sweet Italian sausage and take off the skin. I cook the sauce longer, about 2 or 3 hours. This recipe is excellent, however I think it is not for beginners UNLESS you follow the directions exactly.
At least now you know.. stick to what you already know works!!
This is the funniest recipe ive ever seen someone cook..lmao...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Was that a Tupperware measuring cup. Kevin, CWP buy that for you?
Dave, if you put a lid on your pot of water it will boil faster. Also, you only needed four pasta sheets for the size pan you’re needing that’s why there was too much pasta.
Hi. I like to lay my lasagna noodles into water one at a time in a criss cross...allow them to bend and stir gently until their safely boiled/unstuck. Stir every minute or two.
In regards to the ricotta, maybe you were suppose to use half, and then half of what was left, and then the rest of it for that last layer?
Next time, tent the foil so it covers, but doesn't touch the cheese. Now I'm hungry and have to go. LOL
People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them Taco Bell used to have Bell Burgers but I don't know if we ever had pizza in the Happy Meals here in AZ.
I agree with Tina and parm cheese, I call it foot cheese, smells like stinky feet 🤣Can you tell I am bored today, I am binge watching since you haven't posted a new one 🤩
I probably would have added that extra meat on the noodles right before adding the last layer of cheese.
A neat trick to get your tomato paste out is to open both ends. Remove one lid and use the other to push the paste out! If you just use 1 T I usually put a T serving in snack ziploc bag! How many ever it takes and just freeze all of the T in a freezer bag n use what I need!
Dave the mistake you made was the recipe intends for you to keep halving what's left. You went with the initial instructions that said half but it doesn't mean use the second half on the next layer, it means use half of what's left on each following layer.
Oh, you also started with too many noodles making it more noodley :)
some real Parm not that Kraft stuff would have added some better flavor. Also fresh parsely is different than what you used and much more aromatic.
always fun to watch tho, thanks for the vid!
Valid point!
The top layer u should do noodles sauce then the cheese
Not a good lasagna recipe - although the sauce recipe sounded pretty good . I'd use the extra sauce to put some over each slice as you serve it. I have seen anyone overlap the noodles - weird instructions 🤔
Enjoyed the show tho - reminded me why I don't make lasagne anymore🤣
When I make mine I do it so different and add 3 different cheeses on each layer....this took way to long to make
Hi Dave, so sorry the lasagna wasn’t good. At least you have some good sauce to put on pasta. I think there should have been a layer of sauce before the last layer of cheese.
Agreed, it was a fun experiment
Why did u tell me to make it?
Possibly three noodles per layer?❤
I'm screaming sauce!!! Put sauce under the top layer of cheese. :)
Should put little meat sauce on the pasta and then the cheese. It should good I think.
Cooking spray on the foil. Also, if you re-read the recipe, it says you only need 12 lasagna noodles. That's two layers.
OH DANG! You unlocked the mystery!! I wish I had seen that
@@A.I.Kitchen Maybe you need to retry without the extra layer of noodles. Noodles are the weakest part. I often make a slop with all the ingredients of lasagna except noodles and eat it from a bowl like chili.
Man, I would eat all of that meat and sauce straight out of the pot.
Oh no that sucks!! Usually if food takes over an hour to make, I'm out. lol
Olive oil alittle in the water
Next time do Swiss instead of ricotta. So good
Riccota was 1/2. Then 1/2 of what is left 1/4. ? Maybe that's what it meant??
There is an actual Lasagne pan. Usually quite pricey. $$
I think that's way too many noodles. I don't cook mine!
I do tent my foil so it doesn't stick, not grease it.
I'm not a professional chef either! 😂
Pat you're noodles dry so you're lasagna will not be runny
Also the sauce should have been top of noodles then cheese
A year too late but YES! DRAIN THE GREASE! I've watched a few other burger recipes of yours and I cringe each time. This one was grease soup. Just use one of your empty cans.
Other than that.....enjoying the show!
You did an extra layer
Add a little oil to water b😢adding noodles
Where's the garlic
Need to bring back “Down The Hatch” before your first taste. Sorry it didn’t turn out to be the best. It sure looked as if it was going to be.
I know, I prerecorded a few and forgot to say it
put a piece of wax paper first, then aluminum paper. the cheese will not stick to the wax.
You are making a from scratch type sauce you have to let it cook. I keep talking to the screen.. The egg is a binding agent it helps to harden up the riccota. Salt is added to already boiling water. Yo do not need to wipe off noodles like another commenter said. I am not sure why your ricotta is so thin while you are making the lasagna.oh wait you didn't add any parmesan cheese . I add it to the ricotta I didn't see you add any salt and pepper to it either. Ok I'll stop commenting now...lol
You had to much sauce leftover. smh.
Also yes not using the correct pan as well.
Surprised your not using a metal spatchela for the ground beef
Stouffers lasagna is gross, just messed up your credibility for taste to me
lol
to much noodle not enough sauce are pets head are falling off
Tip that you didn’t ask for: you do not need to cook lasagna noodles. The sauce will cook the noodles as they bake.
No.
sorry had to dislike, would give me extreme heartburn...💥🤣
Ok man, I get that you're not a chef, I am, and we both know you should watch a video on how to cut an onion. Once you watch it and cut them a few times the rest if your cooking life will get better.
𝓅𝓇o𝓂o𝓈𝓂 😱
Never over lap pasta as much as you did. Pasta doesn’t cook.
Dave is a bad cook. But that reselling tho… 👏
If this took 1.5 hrs you could have merged it with trash to cash. 😆
Your sauce would have been 1000x better if you had NOT used pre-made sauce from a can as your base.
Also stating Stouffers lasagna as being 'good' should disqualify you from providing any feedback on how lasagna should taste.
Also, shelf stable Parmesan cheese is an abomination. Buy a block of it and grate it yourself. This would have also made your dish much better than using that flavored saw dust.
I think this one was worse than the lasagna recipe on At Home On the Range...
NEVER EVER put sugar in red sauce😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Try my friend Barbara's channel for the cooking show for the deranged...
