A neat trick for dumping whole cans that don't want to go is the take your can opener and put a hole in the bottom. Stuff usually just plops out from the air vacuum. Would have helped with the refried beans.

I hadn’t heard this trick. That’s awesome! I love learning new hacks. I just run a butter knife around the inside rim of the can to loosen the ingredients and they usually plop right out. A trick I learned for cilantro (or any herbs) is to pull the stem through a hole in your cheese grater. All the leaves come off the stem easily. It makes chopping it so much easier.

Fat, salt and sugar are the 3 main flavor bases.
Also, I drain most of my ground before I add the spices, then add a little water to the remaining ground beef and oil, so the spices become more like a sauce, and cook the water out.

Ok I checked. I asked Google. Here’s what google AI said: “Yes, it's bad to pour grease down the drain. Grease can solidify and form a clog that's difficult to remove. Grease can also contaminate the water supply, back up in the sewers, and eventually seep into the groundwater. Bacteria will then grow, which can threaten plants and animals. “ Then I read about a sewer in England that got so filled with fat it took 8 WEEKS for a team to unblock the sewer.
