- The Most Amazing Lasagna Recipe is the best recipe for homemade Italian-style lasagna. The balance between layers of cheese, noodles, and homemade bolognese sauce is perfection!

✅Ingredients
• 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 large white onion minced
• 5 cloves garlic crushed
• 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
• 2 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
• 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
• 1/2 cup white or red wine (can substitute beef broth or chicken broth)
• 2 tablespoons white sugar
• 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
• 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
• 1 teaspoon ground oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley divided
• 1 pound lasagna noodles
• 30 ounces ricotta cheese
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1 pound deli sliced mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
✅Instructions
1️⃣ 00:14 - In a large pot over medium heat, add in ground sausage and ground beef. Use a spoon to break up the meat into small pieces. Add in onion and garlic and cook until meat is well browned, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar, fresh basil, fennel, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and wine. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer 1-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
2️⃣ 02:48 - Meanwhile, place lasagna noodles into the bottom of a pan. Pour hot tap water directly over the noodles, making sure the pasta is completely immersed in the water. Let them soak for 30 minutes, then drain and discard water.
3️⃣ 03:19 - In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining 2 tablespoons parsley, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and nutmeg. Refrigerate until ready to assemble lasagna.
4️⃣ 03:52 - Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease a deep 9x13 pan or lasagna dish.
5️⃣ 04:00 - To assemble, spread about 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of the prepared pan. Place 4 noodles on top. Spread with 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with 1/4 of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1½ cups meat sauce over mozzarella, then sprinkle with 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Repeat layering two more times to create three complete layers. To finish, place a final layer of pasta, topped with another 1 cup of meat sauce to cover the pasta. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover loosely with aluminum foil.
6️⃣ 05:47 - Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes to allow cheese to brown. Serve hot.

I haven't made Lasagna in years, but this is by far the best Lasagna I've had since forever ago. I was hesitant on clicking on this video because everyone claims to have "the best" but this recipe wins. Super simple and not so labor intensive.
It was by far the best lasagna my family has ever had. The meat sauce was perfect. We soaked the noodles for 30ish minutes in warm water and it turned out PERFECT. They weren’t over or under cooked. I’ve had many people ask about the recipe already. This one is going in the home cook book for sure. Thank you for the hard work and video!
I made your lasagna and it was excellent and then I made it with one little improvement which made it even better, instead of using the dry pasta use fresh lasagna sheets it tastes so much better with egg pasta than dry. and another improvement would be to make a mirepoix of onions carrot and celery then you don't have to use the sugar and you get more flavor that way as well.

Thanks so much. 2 tips I will keep from this, the soaking the noodles and sliced cheese. One thing you might want to try is when starting to add the tomato products START with the paste. Cooking the paste a little draws out the natural sweetness. Thanks again!
Yes! You just brought back a childhood memory for me. My Mom use to start with a giant pot on low heat- added: Olive oil, Onion, Garlic, Bay Leaf then the tomato paste soon after. 🙏🏼Thank you for that.

I made this yesterday and followed the recipe to a T. Came out AMAZING!!! the sauce is ridiculously delicious!!! will be my go to sauce for my pastas too!
This is the lasagna recipe I've been looking for ! I've always had difficulty producing a lasagna that was meaty enough yet moist enough so as not to dry out. The ratio of meat-to-sauce-to-cheese-to-pasta is spot on in this recipe. I was a little leery of trying the "pasta hack" but it worked perfectly. I will never boil lasagna noodles again. I did tweak the sauce a little with a 1/2 tsp of baking soda to reduce acidity but followed everything else to the letter. Everyone loved this lasagna. Thank You !
