Last winter you guys helped keep me motivated to lose over 40 pounds. This winter (apparently winter started a few days ago) I'm going to take my health and fitness to the next level.
@@TheKevinRangel you can do it bro, for me it was mostly replacing bad habits (drinking, prepackaged foods, for 2 examples) with good ones that were also *sustainable*
Great content! Could not agree more about no cell (and even avoiding watching the news first thing). Cold brew is my go to instead of french pressed coffee. You guys got me in the first minute!
Not really , I am a retired drug interdiction Pilot , most days my shift was 2200-0600, 10pm-6am so I would do a similar routine at 6pm before going to work, just figure out a way. Good luck.
According to Doctor Andrew Huberman, Stanford neuroscientist and buff dude, we should wait at least 60-90 minutes between waking up and having coffee. I can tell you that after about 2 months of delaying my morning coffee by about an hour, I've seen less stress and better energy levels throughout the day.
@@logiclanguagelearningFrench Can't disagree, but I've made this change and my energy levels have been much better overall. That said, I turn on my dishwasher first thing in the morning in order to make myself wait :]]
Having a morning routine is important. Took me 18 years in the military to realize that. Now wake up for gym at 4, eat first breakfast, gym, then second breakfast, then work. Having a routine and having gym plans is important my gym accountabilabuddy had to move so now it's all on me. Thanks buff dudes for the informative videos... they've definitely assisted me in improving my fitness!
My routines are fairly set. I wake up at 6, make and eat breakfast and generally relax for a bit. At 6:45-7:15ish, i shower and get ready for work. I’m home by around 4:15, I workout afterwork, finish the workout by around 6:15 ish, then make dinner and plan my meals for the next day.
A little hack for people that struggle getting on their phone first thing in the morning is to charge it over night on your dresser or some table on the other side of the room. You can even go a step further and leave it in on your desk or in your kitchen and just buy an alarm clock.
My morning routine is wake up at 5:00 in a mental panic of "where am i" taking a 30 minute shit while I figure out where it all went wrong, down 400mg of caffeine then go pick up heavy stuff for a couple hours for the small bit of happiness it brings me before I go work a dead end job for 9 hours.
I have a habit of picking up my phone in the morning and it really ruins my mornings and interrupts my sleep. So I have been trying to break the habit recently. Thanks for all the advice over the years.
I like that the video is realistic. Consistently good is better than being perfect once a week. One other reason I like morning workouts is because I can delay it to later in the day if something comes up. Can't do that if I plan for it in the evening. So planning things in the morning ensures I won't miss a workout.
Just goes to show how many 'motivational' videos are American Psycho-lite. Right now doing the Novel November, so wake at 0530, write for an hour, then get family ready. Workouts are at lunch till December, when I'll swap writing for WOs.
At 38 years old I've finally clicked with the morning workout. It's amazing. With family and kids it became stressful to try and do it around tea and bedtime for kids, which meant you only had to have one thing go wrong and the workout is out the window. Now I go to bed a little bit earlier and up at 6am, hit the gym (after a coffee and banana) and then home for 7.15 for breakfast. Boom!! Feel great for the whole day then.
Good for you! Training that way since years and I really can give more power @ work and at my hobbies because the most important part is already done after 7am ;-) Doing some good @ home workout routines in the morning in my own little workout room in our flat. Another tip is to to both! Sometimes I do 15 Minutes in the morning and 15 Minutes in the afternoon or evening. keep going! ;-)
you guys helped me so much in 2019. fell off the wagon back to square one but it's great to see you guys are still around! I'll be buying a cookbook forsure
Love the morning routine stuff. I still watch the old morning routine video from brandon. Good motivation knowing others are out putting in the work during the early AMs
Loved this video! I just want to add a point on having a training partner. All the benfits that Brandon mentioned in the video are indeed valid. However, I've found that you do need to be careful when training with a partner about your recovery. Very rarely do 2 people have exactly the same recovery needs. So, sometimes, your partner may be ready to train again amd you may not be, or vice versa. Not saying to avoid training with a partner, but just to keep this aspect in mind. Personally, I have a few different people I train with occasionally, but I also train alone sometimes. Make sure to listen to your body and not train if you're not properly recovered.
*Bro I wanna say thank you! After working out with u for about a year I've created this fitness channel! I hope one day I'll be able to help and motivate people like u do but now its only 99 subs now lol* Btw hello from Ukraine!
Hey guys, what are your thoughts on doing a PERFECT *Evening* Routine? I know a lot of people struggle with bedtime revenge and see night time routines as a chore, and might skip the workout in the morning or lag behind in their morning routine because their evening routine is broken.
I dont do workouts in the morning as i dont really have the capacity for that (sharing a small space with someone, no gym thats open that early etc) but i looooove to run first thing in the morning, it can be a real fight to put on the running shoes etc. but the bursting through those few Kilometers (or honestly even Meters), being hot and actually enjoying a cold shower afterwards is something i wouldnt want to miss.... also it saves the Time that i would spend running right after the workout, so i have around 30 - 45 mins more after Work for myself and my hobbies.
More "routine," for the rest of what you guys tend to do, if possible, would be awesome! Thank you for this. I personally have always had trouble following a routine. This I hope will help improve that.
I've been running with a super hectic, rushed morning for years. I have about 45 minutes between waking up and having to leave the house. I wish I knew where people get so much time in the day from.
I really like these guys and their content. They sprinkled in a couple nods to family time etc. but I don't think they live in the real world. I'm up at 5:30AM to get ready for work and get there at 7AM. I'm there until I get home at 4:30-5PM. Helping around the house, meal prep, kids, getting them to bed by 7:30-8PM. Ok. Now. If I set up a morning routine to even get 30 minutes of workout in plus maybe 15 minutes of stretching so I don't pull something, that means I need to get up at 4:30AM at the latest. So if I get proper sleep at around 8 hours that means I need to be in bed by the time my kids go to sleep. I really don't want to be making excuses but seriously. Us average Joes don't have this kind of time.

Have your first (and only) coffee 2-3 hours after you wake up. It’ll prevent the crash later in the day. Andrew Huberman said it on his podcast and I tried it… works like a charm.
I do something similar myself, but at a somewhat earlier time. Wake up at 3:30 am., a glass of freshly pressed lemon + fresh ginger juice + some honey to sweeten it. Then 1 hour calisthenics, 30 minutes vinyasa yoga & cold shower, then a cup of green tea, a banana and my special overnight oats with some 10 ingredients inside: oats, cocoa, pollen, Brazil nuts or cashews, sunflower & pumpkin seeds - all this thoroughly grounded in the coffee grinder + brewer's yeast flakes, chia, peanut butter, chunks of dried figs or goji berries, some honey, kefir and a generous serving of skyr for proteins, all this thoroughly mixed, stirred and left to mature overnight. Almost a main meal indeed. By 6:30 am. ready to start the day.
This vid is great, thanks ! at 69 i'm still looking for alternatives so as not to get frustrated, hard to gain when cannot digest protein well ,but NEVER GIVE UP ! thanks again.
