@@lucastheodoro4188 I’ve always thought that as well. Normal just fits for meganium. Honestly it fits with typhlosion as well. Gen 2 starters were a little bit… normal.
I’m making a few type changes to my rom hack, the base Johto starters’ typings ain’t one of em. I just like the idea of having at least ONE good pure typer
@@zelxcdqgssui Tbf it is a major win for Meganium to get fairy in Johto, the region has an 8th gym leader and champion that are dragon specialists, Meganium with fairy goes from the least useful to arguably the most by gaining that immunity to Clair and Lance
@@bugzmgiver8747 but your forgetting Falkner, bugsy, Pryce, kohga, Janine, Jasmine, Blaine. Another type possibly could be psychic. But ground makes since, much more than fairy.
@@zelxcdqgssui Why does ground make sense? surely dragon would make more sense? Ground makes more sense for Typhlosion since it takes some inspiration from Volcanos As for those gym match ups yeah, grass types tend to struggle in most regions, but the fairy gives added bonus against the mentioned dragons, fighting gym, Bruno and Karen as well, fairy meganium becomes lethal late game. Id also argue that as a bulky defensive pokemon the fairy type benifits meganium more as even though it has one more weakness, it has 4 more resistances and an immunity, and the fairy type carries lots of healing and status moves that would benifit a bulky defensive mon a little more, plus the ground typing would still make it weak to all of those gyms you mentioned, pryce being a 4 times Reading its pokedex entries for its lore its all about soothing emotions and reviving dead plants, something that would make sense for fairies and psychics (insert in this essay joke/im not reading that joke lol, didnt mean this comment to go on so long haha)
@@Peacedripper because of its simple design. Mainly it actually feels like it could have been an ancient furret that adapted to it's environment learning how to use fire
Personally, I think Grass/Ground would've worked better for Rillaboom both competitively and thematically because of how much its centered around Grassy Terrain
Here's what I would have done; Blastoise: Water/Steel (since Squirtle's shell is based on a rusty coin too) Meganium: Grass/Fairy (Since its breath brings plants back to life, similar to the Florges line) Typhlosion: Fire/Ground (same reasoning as yours, very volcano inspired) Feraligatr: Water/Dragon (It learns quite a few Dragon moves like Dragon Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Scale Shot and Breaking Swipe) Sceptile: Grass/Dragon (It's very reminiscent of a Velociraptor, plus Dragon type E4 Drayton uses one.) Serperior: Grass/Dragon (Dragons have always had the kind of prestige associated with royalty, plus there's large mythological snakes like the Basilisk) Samurott: Water/Fighting (It would be the perfect counter to its Hisuian forme, plus its dex entries mention training a fighting style like many fighting types.) Rillaboom: Grass/Ground (it gets A LOT of Ground type moves, plus you could interpret its drumming as sounding like an earthquake.) Cinderace: Fire/Electric (Just because I don't want another Fire/Fighting type, plus he can be lightning fast. It just needs more Electric moves than Electro Ball) Inteleon: Water/Ghost (Completely agree with the reasoning that Ghost type fits its invisibility, as many Ghost types turn invisible too.)
Serperior is a snake and the dragon type would be logical, but since it was designed in a royal/noble way, I would rather see the fairy type. I completely agree with the rest. But that's just my opinion.
Typhlosion would be much better suited as a Fire/Normal type. Typhlosion takes inspiration from a rodent, and most rodents in the Pokémon canon are aligned with the Normal type. Also, Normal moves make up a plurality of Typhlosion’s movepool, behind Fire type. And lastly, when looking at Typhlosion’s design, the complete lack of any standout features really adds to its “normalness.” Not to mention, Fire/Normal would’ve been an amazing contradiction to its Hisuian form, which is Fire/Ghost. IMO, Typhlosion would’ve been an absolute beast if it were Fire/Normal with Adaptability as its HA.
@@panjhisahelsenordelospalil1717Stop exaggerating it's just fire spewing out not a volcano, plus with how very simple it's design is and how it's very similar to rodent pokemon, normal fits it very well
serperior and sceptile deserve dragon typing more than anything else, i didn't like how you wouldn't allow them to have that typing just because you already used it with meganium (even though blaziken and infernape were both fire/fighting)
Fair enough! Did I say that was the reasoning? I feel like I just wanted some diversity between the mega, it’d be kinda like thinking about when to Tera
i could see dragon or fairy. if snivy is a starter in z-a and gets a mega, then i would like him to gain the dragon type. if he doesn’t, then adding fairy to his base would make more sense.
@@dabonethughe can literally detect undetectible weaknesses like a psychic. Also both intelligence and sight are usual shorthand signifiers of psychic in most lore. I also think it's interesting design to have a non-metaphysical interpretation of the psychic type for a change since the designs for psychic pokemon IMO have been pretty boring and same-y thematically for a while now.
I think the reason we don't see Dragon in starter trios is just because it would remove the ability for the Pokemon they're supposed to be weak against to hit them super effectively. However, this could be circumvented the same way the Sinnoh trio did, by making that other Pokemon's secondary type still able to hit them hard.
I mean i dunno personally i feel like a long as it's the last evo or doesen't really matter, you're going to have a ton of options even before level 36
The Sinnoh trio didn’t do that. Both Infernape and Torterra’s secondary types beat Empoleon’s. The Kalos trio is the one who actually did the secondary triangle
@@tylercoon1791 That's not what I'm saying. Empoleon isn't weak to Grass, but Torterra gaining ground kept the triangle between them intact. I don't care if it the secondary types form their own triangle or not, what matters is that the Pokemon as a whole have a triangle.
I don't think all starter Pokémon need a secondary type. However, I believe a few starter Pokémon would benefit from a secondary type and improved level up learnsets to take advantage of it. For example, Grovyle and Sceptile should have been Grass-Dragon type. When Treecko evolves at Level 16, Fury Cutter is a terrible move for Grovyle to learn. This is the perfect time for Grovyle to learn Dragonbreath because it will actually help Grovyle and Sceptile with all the early-mid game gyms they struggle with.
@@jockson7574 I wonder how a Water-Ice type Blastoise would be. He would gain more weaknesses but STAB Ice Beam or Blizzard would give him an easier time vs. Grass Type Pokémon. I am surprised that there is still no Water-Ice type starter Pokémon.
Honestly I just have that feeling that starters *should* get secondary typings because they are your first mon in a game, they're who you bond with so there should be a "reward" for having them around.. like.. okay Johto I get, early gen I can get the vibes of not having that ideology down (personally would have been cool for Feraligatr to be only dual type as like.. inverse of Kanto) but Galar? The 8th gen?! I literally have so many other better options for each type.. like mono grass is not good so 90% of dual type grass are better choices *at least* Like it felt weird being like "welp my reward for training you is... uhh... nothing.. could have grabbed anything else to cover the same stuff *plus* STAB in another type"
@@BaconNuke I think they decided to not give the Galar starter Pokémon a secondary type because it was the 20th anniversary of Gold and Silver in Japan. That is the only reason I can think of for why they broke the tradition once in the new games.
Inteleon can become invisible, fly, control highly pressured streams and pierce through targets weaknesses... I would give him the psychic type, trying to make his "magic" look like 007 skills
Hear me out on this though: we have precedence with Meowscarada that cool tricks that aren't actual magic are categorized as Dark. If Inteleon is using spy skills to do that stuff, then I'd call that more Dark, like how Meowscarada uses sleight of hand to do magic tricks.
Ngl, I also spat my drink out when I heard you cal Meganium a plesiosaur. Like, I get why you made the mistake but still, almost choked myself from giggling with my mouth full
Meganium should’ve gotten the Fairy type in Gen 6. I will die on that hill. It should have fairy moves too. Can’t believe it didn’t get 1 damaging one. And that the Tera raid was psychic was just salt in the wound to me. I guess that means GameFreak sees it as more psychic than anything. Edit: Honestly it seems to me GameFreak thinks the Tera raids work as a way of saying “this is what it would be if we thought of it” or as a kind of 3rd type. With the exception of the Typhlosion and Samurott raids. Those were more so they could counter their Hisuian counterparts.
While Samurott isn't an insect/anthropod its samurai-themed shells provides some connection with Bug typing. The anime had a Bug Catcher that wore samurai armor and Rhinoceros beetles in japan(kabutomushi) are named after samurai helmets(kabuto) + Megahorn was even the signature of a rhinoceros beetle mon
Meganium, a pokemon infamously ridden with too many weaknesses to work as the bulky supporter it was meant to be, should've gotten the type that added another weakness on top of that and to one of the best type in the game too. Yeah, it checks lmao. You guys should just stop seeing pink and immediately going to the fairy type route. Grass - Dragon fits perfectly.
@@claudionosotti8812I seriously doubt people picked the Fairy type simply because it's pink; it's more likely because of its usual kind demeanor in the dex entries. Besides, if we want to take its recent Tera Raid into account, apparently GameFreak sees the Psychic type more fitting for Meganium than Dragon, so... 😅
@@claudionosotti8812 it has 0 to do with pink, there’s barely any pink, and everything to do with it being able to bring plants back to life. It has a mystical connection to nature that goes beyond just being a grass type and they even reflected that in Pokémon Snap. Before the fairy type was added, psychic would’ve fit it better than pure grass, since it was the de facto magic type. Fairies have a connection to nature which is why Celebi should’ve been changed too. Nature magic is the same as fairy magic. Meganium calls on that more than any other non-psychic grass Pokémon. It being a dinosaur is the only thing that gives the impression of the dragon type. But it doesn’t call upon the same draconic energy the dragons do. Aurorus, Rampardos, Basdiodon, and even the pseudo dragon Aerodactyl are directly based on dinosaurs and the only fossil Pokemon that got the dragon type was Tyrantrum which really only got it as it’s based on the T-Rex the “king” of the dinosaurs. Aurorus is even a similar species of dinosaur to Meganium but since it has a different type of energy, ice, it isn’t a dragon. Meganium can be a pseudo dragon like Charizard, Gyarados, and Aerodactyl, as they’re not dragons but can summon that energy and look like dragons too, but its strong connection to nature matches the fairy type more.
@@volcanbolt12 Meganium is mostly green anyway. Its petal collar is the only pink on it. And it could be yellow or blue and it’d still be more nature magic than dragon magic. So the fairy type would apply to it regardless. Psychic would have been its de facto type prior to the fairy type since even Celebi the literal fairy onion pokemon is psychic. And it too should’ve been changed to fairy type. The only pink on Celebi is its shiny form, and that was more or less a randomized pallet.
6:16 i think you’re wrong with sceptile. Just by taking a look at the amount of Dragon type TMs he can learn in comparison to the dark type tMs. Dragon type would make much more sense.
I really liked this video, I think you made really good choices that don't just take strategy into account, but also the way pokemon presents its gimmics and combine different aspects (visual designs, diversity, actual strategy, ect)
I do not care what this video, Nintendo, Game Freak, my friends and family, or what ever gods exist say… Meganium IS Grass/Fairy and Sceptile IS (Grass/Dragon)
Before Watching the Video: Blastoise - Water/Steel (Gives us another Steel Starter and its pumps makes sense with Steel. Just introduce Steel a Gen earlier. Kids will be surprised and excited when Blastoise has a secondary typing that they didn’t see on any other Gen 1 Mon (except Magnemite, if they saw that one). Plus, Blastoise is now immune to Venasaur’s poison attacks) Meganium - Grass/Dragon (Gives Gen 2 a second Dragon, while also fitting Meganium’s theme) Feraligatr - Water/Ice (Feraligatr’s main coverage move is Ice Fang, and it’s pads may be said to be for insulation, as alligators are cold-blooded and prefer warmer waters. Plus, Ice badly needs a good rep for the early Gens and this allows Feraligatr to be of better use against Clair and Lance) Typhlosion - Fire/Ground (Main move is legit Eruption, and Cyndaquil is based on an Echidna, which is known to use its sharp claws to burrow underground) Sceptile - Grass/Dark (Sceptile is legit known for being kinda shifty. In the anime, Treecko has a toothpick in its mouth. In Mystery Dungeon, Grovyle is seen as a thief for most of the game) Serperior - Grass/Poison (Serperior is literally a snake. And its main tool, Coil, is Poison Type. Its designation as regal kinda reminds me of Poison, which Royalty kinda symbolized due to their underhanded tactics and toxic vices. Plus, Serperior reminds me of a King Cobra, which is highly venomous) Samurott - Water/Rock (Samurott’s armor and shells just seem to make Rock the obvious choice) Rillaboom - Grass/Dark (Rillaboom’s main thing is music, which is associated with Dark in Galar via Team Yell. Its long hair may be seen as a rebellious thing and its drums kinda signify a rock theme anyway) Inteleon - Water/Ghost (This lizard is legit a ghost. It is a spy that is an expert at camouflage and evasion) Cinderace - Fire/Fighting (Legit a soccer player)
@@jdog3609 Didn’t say we NEEDED one. I don’t want another one, but Cinderace legit fits the type in every single conceivable way. The soccer player aesthetic is textbook Fighting Type. It would need a full redesign to be a Fire/Electric. Plus, if Rillaboom was Grass/Dark and Inteleon was Water/Ghost, you could make a full circle of secondary types with Dark beating Ghost, Ghost being immune to Fighting, and Fighting beating Dark.
@@goolgepl2112 it's based on a honey badger and besides the fiery mane (and colour scheme) it looks really close to that. Rather hilariously given the honey badger's extremely aggressive territorialness against pretty much anything, including packs of lions, yet another Fire/Fighting wouldn't be out of the question either. But since honey badgers are also really adaptable with both their diets and the burrows they use for nests, and not being really afraid of anything (like Ghosts), Normal fits
Because of the Treecko's lines aerodynamics and flexibility I was thinking maybe a grass / flying type wouldn't be such a bad idea. I could even imagine Grovyle and Sceptile blades fanning out for flight.
@@OKreations Tesla coil seeds sounds like an awesome Pokemon design element when you think about it, though. Hypothetical Pokedex excerpt: "It can store electricity in the seed pods on its back."
Honestly I agree with a lot of the choices here but I also thanks to this video have come to appreciate the motto typing because it makes me realize that dual typing adds more weaknesses that are unnecessary to the original design but also add flavor and more depth to our imagination of our favorite starters. So thanks for the vid dude! 😎
Like, poor Meganium gets a lot of flack nowadays, but in Gen 2 mono-grass was actually a rare typing to have when you think about it. Gen 1's overabundance of Grass/Poison was insane.
Meganium needs one of a few things, a support type like normal to buff out its move set with a few good TMS, a powerhouse type like Fairy or Psychic, or maybe something something completely different Edit: Chikorita supremacy
i couldn't agree more with every typing in this video. when you're adding a type to a pokemon, you're redesigning it in a sense and have to work from the ground up, looking at its design and pokedex entries first, so you had the perfect mindset going into this
Yeah why isn't Blastoise a steel type? It's literally carrying cannons and it would have been a perfect balance for the types being immune to poison from vena and strong to flying. Plus gen 1 definitely needed more dual types. Gen two I'd make them grass fairy water dark fire electric as I can see cinda line having static fur and storms can cause fires. Mega would be more interesting as a fairy type to give more options. Toda line dark would be hax Treeko line dark or dragon is cool but I'd love to see grass steel as it basically sharpens itself like a sword to fight and would be very powerful that way too. Sure fire destorys it but more options to cut down foes Snivy line I'd go with fairy as a mythical creature that sheds it's arms and legs to become a snek. Sounds cool
@OKreations Even so, before Gen 8 we had the the slew of Fire fighting types between Blaziken, Infernape, and Emboar, and even though Incinaroar is a Dark type he might as well be a Fighting type as a wrestler. Another Fire Fighting type is the last thing we want
Another thing to add to dark type feraligatr think about how Alligators act especially when hunting they are suprising stealthy and how they kill is literally called a death role as it extremely effective and also brutal it is. Also counter point to serperior is dragon works just as well as fairy if not better as dragon are also shown as regal creatures in some tales and stories and one of the main dragon types is the snake like dragons.
@doozsromhacks insanity is in my bloodline so checks out. Also what is so crazy about the dragon type yet again dragons are sometimes as Serpents and as regal creatures in my opinion it's similar to fairy type argument.
honestly grass/dark on sceptile is fine cause he's fast and frail so at this point so have so many weaknesses doesn't really hurt its role in being a fast attacker/mix attacker but at the same time still feel it deserves the dragon typing
Btw Dragon actually fits more on Serperior. In various legends dragons are known to be kings, symbols of royalty and to have a very dignified dispositions Fairy is better of on pokemon that represent fantasy creatures known for either its cutesy and nurturing nature or for a mischievious and cruel disposition
i really like this video and this is something i’ve thought about a lot too!! i also like to come up with alternative typings for the ones who already have secondary typings, when i don’t think they fit as well here’s my personal ideas! (i don’t really pay much attention to balance admittedly haha, so some of these trios might tip heavily in a certain starter’s direction): Gen 1 - Venusaur: Grass/Poison - Charizard: Fire/Dragon - Blastoise: Water/Steal Gen 2 (i prefer to keep them monotype, but if i had to choose i’d go with this): - Meganiun: Grass/Fairy - Typhlosion: Fire/Normal - Feraligatr: Water/Dark Gen 3: - Sceptile: Grass/Dragon - Blaziken: Fire/Fighting - Swampert: Water/Ground Gen 4: - Torterra: Grass/Ground - Infernape: Fire/Fighting - Empoleon: Water/Steel Gen 5: - Serperior: Grass/Dragon - Emboar: Fire/Dark - Samurott: Water/Fighting Gen 6: - Chesnaught: Grass/Fighting - Delphox: Fire/Psychic - Greninja: Water/Dark Gen 7: - Decidueye: Grass/Ghost - Incineroar: Fire/Dark - Primarina: Water/Fairy Gen 8: - Rillaboom: Grass/Ground - Cinderace: Fire/Fighting - Inteleon: Water/Dark Gen 9: - Meowscarada: Grass/Dark - Skeledirge: Fire/Ghost - Quaquaval: Water/Fighting
1:36 blastoise cannot have steel type because that gives venusaur no way to be super effective against it, if a stater loses its supereffectiveness against the one it is supposed to be supereffect against it ruins the chart, when empoleon gained steel type torterra gained ground type to counter it
@@DualCannonsyes, but Torterra still beats Empoleon because Torterra gets Ground, which is super effective against Steel and not resisted by Water. Meanwhile, Venusaur is still Grass/Poison, so Water/Steel Blastoise would take neutral damage from Grass and be outright immune to Poison
I think the problem with rillaboom is that there were a lot of “sound based” mons that were introduced in the same generation that would have probably justified the addition of the “sound” type, and without that it’s hard to figure out a backup type since it wasn’t added
What always bothers me when people are like "oh but if they had xyz type their learnset doesn't support the STAB outside of tms" well.. if the type *was* part of it they would have naturally gotten more of those moves since that is logical (I just ignoring lots of the very early gens lack of STAB for mons) so I'm glad you mostly took "vibes" into consideration and just said "yeah they don't currently have the moves but they'd get them" I'm also glad you didn't do the "oh the Mega is xyz so we'll just slap that on" when.. Megas aren't even set in stone ie some replace types like Mega Charizard X or Mega Altaria while Mega Aggron *loses* Rock outright with no replacement.. so.. having Sceptile change actually still is perfectly logical Personally I would have made Meganium the Grass/Fairy and Serperior the Grass/Dragon since.. Dragon still can be regal (have you SEEN the capes Lance and Clair wear and the outfit Iris has?!) Did you seriously make Cinderace *another* Fire/Fighting?! Lol actually.. sure.. why not.. it at least had been a few gens (tbh that is why people were annoyed.. it was 3 gens in a row)
This is great I appreciate the feedback! Love both pos and neg, it helps me out to get an understanding of how I can structure videos better. Appreciate it!
10000000000000% i hate when people use levelups/learnsets to argue against a type change like it just makes no sense whatsoever GF in general fucking sucks at making them fit or good anyways
@@doozsromhacks I mean, people ALSO use this tactic in favor of a type change as well. I'm not saying this, ALONE, should be enough; however, in some cases, the doubt can feel validated when paired with other elements
As annoying as another Fire/Fighting may be, I have no idea what else Cinderace could be if you needed to add another type. Cinderace's soccer player theme doesn't really lend itself to anything other than the athletic type, which is Fighting.
I disagree with Typhlosion and Inteleon. There's nothing really Ground type about Typhlosion, I think that's a real stretch. I works well as a pure Fire type, or could even be Fire and Normal as it seems like a normal animal that also controls fire. It seems much more of a normal animal than other Fire Starters. And as for Inteleon, you can't just add Ghost type for its personality, it has to be dead and it's not dead. The Ghost type could work if it was incorporated into the lore and design, but if you just take Inteleon as-is and slap on the Ghost type it just doesn't work.
There's already been three other Starter's with about the same level of lore excuse for gaining the Ghost type. Sure, Skeledirge and Hisuian Typhlosion have connections to spirits while still being alive for their lore, but Decidueye has no actual death lore at all, being totally based on skillset. ...Though, yeah, Psychic could also work for Inteleon's abilities, and naming convention, basically the hero counterpart to the supervillain inspiration Orbeetle (though, that might also be an argument for Ghost Inteleon).
Your video appeared in my recommended and from the icon alone I instantly thought I respect that idea. Then you gave my fave starter the steel type which I’ve always thought it should have too. You have earned my sub
@@OKreations me personally I wouldn’t give any starter the secondary Normal type as aside from a Ghost type immunity, they really wouldn’t really change at all, for me this goes down for other normal types like all the Normal,Flying types, Pyraoar line, Heliolisk line, Azurill (even though it definitely should’ve been Water,Fairy like its evolutions), Wigglytuff line, Sawsbuck line, Hisuian Zoroark line, Drampa, Obstagoon line, both forms of Indeedee, Girafirig line, Ursuluna, Wyrdeer, Arboliva line, Cyclizar, & Grafaiai,
@@adantelee5017 Normal type STAB damage can be pretty good to have, though. After the Fairy type was introduced, it could be argued be more reliable than Dragon STAB even, since the types you need other answers for hitting aren't also super effective against Normal. You can even still often kill Fighting types with strong Normal STAB in a pinch (with enough speed or bulk), since Normal's only weakness doesn't resist Normal. People underestimate it because Normal has a lot of the gimmick and weak 'mons like Bug suffered from.
The Goodra line is based on medieval art of knights fighting giant snails that was done similarly to art from the same time of knights fighting dragons. Applin is a WYRM in an apple. Tatsugiri is based on Koi, which are associated with Dragons in many East Asian cultures, Lungfish, aka Dragon Fish. Curly Form is referencing Shachihoko, a sea monster with the body of a Carp and the head of a Dragon. If you need an example of a Dragon Type without a real reason to be Dragon Type, go with Tyrantrum. (Although, Tyrantrum at least has the king stuff, which helps it fit the Dragon Type better)
The problem with Blastoise with Steel type: It's not weak to Venusaur anymore. I think Water/Rock fits better. It is 4x weak to Grass, but in exchange can hit Charizard for 4x damage as well. This also fixes the problem of Steel not being in gen 1.
water rock blastoise is some brainrot ahh change brother he has metal cannons steel not being in gen 1 is fine magneton wasnt steel either lmao its like a 3 year gap
Wouldn't giving Blastoise the Steel type mean it wouldn't resist fire type moves anymore? Kinda goes against the starter design philosophy of each one perfectly countering one of the others.
Yeah I don’t really care about the type triangle if the types only go on the final evolutions, by the time the final evos come in, the rival and player should have plenty of opportunities to find counters in the region
I think the common problem between Meganium, Sceptile and Serperior is that, because they're all reptiles, it's hard to NOT give them the Dragon type to all three; however, I'd swap Meganium and Serperior secondary types because of their demeanor in the dex entries. For Sceptile, I think Dark can work, but I can see why GF tried to avoid having two pokèmon, with the same type combo, within the same region. Also, you really upset me with Cinderace: we literally have a evolutionary line, whose main theme is about being a soccer who RUNS... and you picked the Fighting type. 😤 #ElectrictypeforCinderace PS: I don't even like Cinderace (due to the soccer theme), but I'd prefer avoid another Fire/Fighting... we don't want another "Incineroar" incident, please 😅
@@OKreations Well, that's true... but you would then have Sceptile, Shiftry and Cacturne; THREE Grass/Dark-types? No way GameFreak could make such a dumb choice... or maybe yes! 😂
@@OKreations That's also true, but at least it'd be a better reason instead of the one gave to Incineroar: "Yeah it's a wrestler, but it "plays dirty"; so Dark type makes sense"... except the fact that some of its dex entries depict him in a opposite way, sometimes 😑
Blastoise - Water Steel Feraligator - Water Dark Meganium - Grass Fairy Sceptile - Grass Dragon Serperior - Grass Dragon Samurott - Water Fighting Cinderace - Fire Normal Rillaboom - Grass Fighting Inteleon - Water Ghost I didn’t include Typhlosion because we’ve now got Hisui/Sinnoh Typhlosion.
I do have a few suggestions, yes. Blastoise being steel feel a bit like a cop out, to be honest. Sure, it "makes" sense because of its cannons, but it screws over Venusaur, whose types steel is resistant or outright immune. So... let's go with rock for it's shell. Besides, empoleon already does the Water/Steel type combo. For the Johto starters, seeing how they are a whole trinity of monotypes, we can do something MORE interesting. First, we can make another perfect (or almost perfect) trio, with Meganium being Grass/Fairy, Typhlosion being Fire/Poison (the volcanos spew a lot of poisionous gasses) and Feraligatr water/dragon. Water/Dark works too, but then Feraligatr doesn't really get anything against typhlosion from its secondary type. Or... we could go for something a bit different. The pistils in its head remind me of the antenna of a bug, so it could be Grass/Bug, with Typhlosion being a fire/ground, as you said, and feraligatr not forgetting it's caveman origins (well, more like phase) and being water/fighting. Frankly, while I see your reasoning for Sceptile, dragon is still the perfect secondary type for it. Next, Samurott and Serperior. Frankly, I agree with Samurott as a water/rock. Normally I'd say fighting, but Emboar IS already fighting. Serperior, on the other hand, I disagree. Dragon is it's best secondary type. Also, Contrary powered Draco Meteors. As for the Galar starters... Cinderace, for me, is a fire electric. Hear me out. As a football player, he is going to dribble. To do that, it needs a lot of explosive power in its legs (electric types are usually VERY fast and with a lot of acceleration) and move in a zigzag patern. And we AVOID the dreaded FOURTH fire fighting starter. As for Rillaboom, how about Grass/Steel? Sure, there is the rock reference, but there is also the METAL reference, and the drumms usually have a lot of metal. As for Inteleon... yeah, I agree, Ghost. It is a spy.
Finally someone that wants to give meganium the dragon type it deserves instead of the boring fairy "because it's a pink flower" idea, i know you went by design for your choices but looking at meganium's role as a bulky supporter pokemon i really can't get behind the idea of ADDING a new weakness to steel type, making meganium even weaker vs its own generation's boss fights instead of choosing the type that not only fits its design but also its role. Also, I know you tried to keep variety and I appreciate the thought process behind some of your choices but I think if the fire starters can have 3 canonically fighting types (4 if we count your idea of making cinderace a fighting type too), then sceptile and serperior can be dragons too, and samurott could get the steel type so we would have 3 fire - fighting, 3 water - steel and 3 grass - dragon to create some sort of trend for each of the primary type. Last thing i'd do is giving cinderace the electric type, it's fast and I think there's a mention about the fact that scorbunny creates heat by friction bc it runs very fast, so i can def see it creating electricity too
While I can agree that the correlation "pink=fairy" is pretty dumb, it's not like the "reptile=dragon" is any better; also, we would than have three Grass/Dragon types as starters... and, if I have to pick only one as Dragon type, at this point I'd prefer pick Serperior (you know, the "Regal Pokémon"?) Also yes, from a playthrough experience, Dragon would work... but Psychic as well; and this is something GameFreak even hinted a bit recently, with Meganium's Tera Raid
I appreciate the feedback! Thanks! I like your idea about having type trends, and thanks for pointing out the possibility of background on fire/electric Cinderace, no one else has pointed any reasoning for it out yet!
@@OKreations Now that I thought about it, yeah... I genuinely forgot that rabbits, in real life, are very fast. Which is funny, considering some of the jokes I tend to make about other "aspects" of their lives 😂
@@volcanbolt12 Ok, but as I pointed out, we already have 3 canonically fire / fighting starters (+ 1 grass and 1 water) so I really don't see the big deal. Serperior gets the popular dragon secondary type bc of the interaction between contrary and draco meteor, being "regal" is not necessairly a dragon type feature, I could also see it being psychic type bc of this reason like other "regal" pokemon (slowking, calyrex for example) where the psychic type could reflect the power and control it has over other pokemon Meganium is often seen as a fairy type bc it's a gentler pokemon that can heal and calm others, with a more feminine design, but we also have other dragon types that fit the gentle dragon category like drampa and goodra, so while both types could fit I prefer dragon over fairy. Psychic type meganium tho, even if GF hinted at it being the more "canonical" option, idk, i don't really see it.
I feel Meganium makes more sense as a fairy type because of it pokedex entries, talking about how loving and caring they are, which just fits the fairy type vibe
Gen 2 the only change would be Meganium as a Fairy Type Gen 5 is a Total Makeover with all 3 Starters changing. Serperior gets Grass/Dragon with a Dragons move pool that includes Overheat, Samurott goes from Quadrupedal to Bipedal, gets the Fighting Type, and access to Sacred Sword and a Hidden Ability Change to Sharpness once it becomes available, and Emboar goes from Bipedal to Quadrupedal, gets a Type Change from Fire/Fighting to Fire/Rock, swaps its Special Attack and Speed Stats, and swaps out its Hidden Ability to Rock Head to take advantage of STAB Head Smash and Flare Blitz. Gen 8 Cinderace gets Fire/Electric, Intellion gets Water/Ghost, and Rillaboom gets Grass/Rock

3:25 one could also argue that because feraligatr is a beastly creature and most beast-like Pokemon have the normal type, he could have the normal type.
Inteleon starts out as an emotional child, then becomes and edgy teenager and finally can read an opponents weakpoints, fly and turn invisible. Clearly it is Water/Psychic but acts like a "secret agent" because it thinks this is cooler than having special powers (because those powers made its youth kinda miserable).
Love the use of Gen 5 sprites! They are peak design and especially on Pokemon like Sceptile, Meganium, Blastoise who appear muted in most media especially the anime but are vibrantly colored in Gen 5 sprites form.
Here’s my unique reason for serperior having the Grass fairy typing that I’d want it to have. The reason why is because Serperior is apparently based on the Fleur de lis, and in pokemon the move Fleur Cannon is a fairy type move. In fact it’s the fairy type equivalent of leaf storm and the often requested for serperior Draco meteor, perfect for use with it’s contratry ability.
So design aspects also mean move sets? I thought it was interesting to hear different explanations for the typing. Wasn’t prepared for it, but I saw, and I yea.
4:41 goodra makes a little sense since dragon is kinda also used just for prehistoric animals and applin the inside probably looks more dragon like but we never see that but his evolutionary lines definitely
Pretty sure that based on the evo line of sceptile the tail isnt a tree but its way to muffle sound/stabilize the airflow navigating the canopy. Basically an owl but without wings. It's an elusive predator whereby the secondary typing of ghost seems more sensible.
7:28 Honestly, I know it screws with the FWG core of gen 5, but I see Samurott as more of a Water/Bug type potentially than Water/Rock. The outer armour makes me think more of a Carapace than of stone, which although has Keratin as a base CAN be mineralized with Calcium Salts (like Calcium Phosphate or Carbonate). Plus, something that sets Samurott apart from other Water types is its access to Bug moves (Megahorn, Fury Cutter and X-Scissor), so you DON'T need to add a load to the movepool just to make this work. It'd already have STAB. The trick is making Serperior a type that can take on Bug neutrally (like a Fairy type) and maybe giving it a move(s) to hit the Water/Bug type super effectively.
Honestly Normal type fits Rillaboom pretty well, not only with sound based moves being Normal type, but also the fact that Rillaboom is just a gorilla with grassy hair and a wooden drum, like how Pyroar is just a lion but can breathe fire so its Normal/Fire. It really makes me all the more disappointed that the Galar starters were all mono type.
I think you could make Gen 8 into **ALL** fighting type. Fighting is completely neutral to Fire, Water, & Grass! So if all the starters get it theres no problem. And arguably they all can embody the type
Meganium - Dragon for pre Gen 6 and Fairy for Gen 6+. Both types work for it and I’m good for either or. I do think Fairy is slightly more fitting but if we wanted to pick a type that existed in Gen 2, then Dragon fits best.
I picture sceptile as a grass flying I think. He always feels like a guy whos jumping between trees or something, which to me feels flying. Anyways, nice video :)
If the Totodile line learned Dig by level-up, which isn't out of the question since alligators in real life dig holes, I'd have suggested Ground as a secondary typing for Feraligatr. STAB Dig on Feraligatr would've made it even more of a menace against Morty and Jasmine than it was.
all good, but serperior is based off of the serpent in the adam and eve story so i feel like dark (or maybe even dragon) would definitely fit it better than fairy
3:16 my biggest issue with making feraligator a dark type, is that the rest of the trio get a type that makes them quad weak to a type, except feraligator. Whatever types people pick for the others, it makes them quad weak to something else. Feraligator as a water flying type would be awesome . If only we could change its design to be an alligator hiding in the clouds, then it would be perfect.
I’m not really worried about the type triangle here, by the time the final evo comes online, the rival and player should have plenty of opportunities to find counters by that point
@@OKreations Nothing with it being a triangle. I just mean I like the idea of all three starters having a 4x weakness, regardless of what that weakness is.

As for those gym match ups yeah, grass types tend to struggle in most regions, but the fairy gives added bonus against the mentioned dragons, fighting gym, Bruno and Karen as well, fairy meganium becomes lethal late game. Id also argue that as a bulky defensive pokemon the fairy type benifits meganium more as even though it has one more weakness, it has 4 more resistances and an immunity, and the fairy type carries lots of healing and status moves that would benifit a bulky defensive mon a little more, plus the ground typing would still make it weak to all of those gyms you mentioned, pryce being a 4 times

Rillaboom could have a hidden ability called percussion or something like that. It would make all sound based moves use the attack stat.
That would be really cool I like this idea
Maybe, but considering its lore of how his music returns vitality to plants, grassy surge just works very well
Honestly that would just kill Rilaboon's viability
Dunno if that's a good idea, but it does make sense, using your physical strength to pound a drum that causes special type damage
Personally, I think Grass/Ground would've worked better for Rillaboom both competitively and thematically because of how much its centered around Grassy Terrain
Here's what I would have done;
Blastoise: Water/Steel (since Squirtle's shell is based on a rusty coin too)
Meganium: Grass/Fairy (Since its breath brings plants back to life, similar to the Florges line)
Typhlosion: Fire/Ground (same reasoning as yours, very volcano inspired)
Feraligatr: Water/Dragon (It learns quite a few Dragon moves like Dragon Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Scale Shot and Breaking Swipe)
Sceptile: Grass/Dragon (It's very reminiscent of a Velociraptor, plus Dragon type E4 Drayton uses one.)
Serperior: Grass/Dragon (Dragons have always had the kind of prestige associated with royalty, plus there's large mythological snakes like the Basilisk)
Samurott: Water/Fighting (It would be the perfect counter to its Hisuian forme, plus its dex entries mention training a fighting style like many fighting types.)
Rillaboom: Grass/Ground (it gets A LOT of Ground type moves, plus you could interpret its drumming as sounding like an earthquake.)
Cinderace: Fire/Electric (Just because I don't want another Fire/Fighting type, plus he can be lightning fast. It just needs more Electric moves than Electro Ball)
Inteleon: Water/Ghost (Completely agree with the reasoning that Ghost type fits its invisibility, as many Ghost types turn invisible too.)
This is the one. I was looking at the screen like “what? there are way better options.”
Perfect, but i would change Only Meganium to grass/dragon since it's a Dinosaur, and since we see a lots of dinosaur becomming dragon
Serperior is a snake and the dragon type would be logical, but since it was designed in a royal/noble way, I would rather see the fairy type. I completely agree with the rest.
But that's just my opinion.
I still prefer Rillaboom as a normal type and IDK about Electric Cinderace but I agree with all the rest
what type should emboar be if samurott took the fighting typing?

@@dabonethughe can literally detect undetectible weaknesses like a psychic. Also both intelligence and sight are usual shorthand signifiers of psychic in most lore.

Amazing😂 yeah I did NOT check that at all that’s on me lol, meant sauropod

I do not care what this video, Nintendo, Game Freak, my friends and family, or what ever gods exist say… Meganium IS Grass/Fairy and Sceptile IS (Grass/Dragon)
Before Watching the Video:
Blastoise - Water/Steel (Gives us another Steel Starter and its pumps makes sense with Steel. Just introduce Steel a Gen earlier. Kids will be surprised and excited when Blastoise has a secondary typing that they didn’t see on any other Gen 1 Mon (except Magnemite, if they saw that one). Plus, Blastoise is now immune to Venasaur’s poison attacks)
Meganium - Grass/Dragon (Gives Gen 2 a second Dragon, while also fitting Meganium’s theme)
Feraligatr - Water/Ice (Feraligatr’s main coverage move is Ice Fang, and it’s pads may be said to be for insulation, as alligators are cold-blooded and prefer warmer waters. Plus, Ice badly needs a good rep for the early Gens and this allows Feraligatr to be of better use against Clair and Lance)
Typhlosion - Fire/Ground (Main move is legit Eruption, and Cyndaquil is based on an Echidna, which is known to use its sharp claws to burrow underground)
Sceptile - Grass/Dark (Sceptile is legit known for being kinda shifty. In the anime, Treecko has a toothpick in its mouth. In Mystery Dungeon, Grovyle is seen as a thief for most of the game)
Serperior - Grass/Poison (Serperior is literally a snake. And its main tool, Coil, is Poison Type. Its designation as regal kinda reminds me of Poison, which Royalty kinda symbolized due to their underhanded tactics and toxic vices. Plus, Serperior reminds me of a King Cobra, which is highly venomous)
Samurott - Water/Rock (Samurott’s armor and shells just seem to make Rock the obvious choice)
Rillaboom - Grass/Dark (Rillaboom’s main thing is music, which is associated with Dark in Galar via Team Yell. Its long hair may be seen as a rebellious thing and its drums kinda signify a rock theme anyway)
Inteleon - Water/Ghost (This lizard is legit a ghost. It is a spy that is an expert at camouflage and evasion)
Cinderace - Fire/Fighting (Legit a soccer player)

Cinderace could be fire/electric

@@goolgepl2112 it's based on a honey badger and besides the fiery mane (and colour scheme) it looks really close to that. But since honey badgers are also really adaptable with both their diets and the burrows they use for nests, and not being really afraid of anything (like Ghosts), Normal fits

So thanks for the vid dude! 😎
Like, poor Meganium gets a lot of flack nowadays, but in Gen 2 mono-grass was actually a rare typing to have when you think about it. Gen 1's overabundance of Grass/Poison was insane.
Meganium needs one of a few things, a support type like normal to buff out its move set with a few good TMS, a powerhouse type like Fairy or Psychic, or maybe something something completely different
Edit: Chikorita supremacy
i couldn't agree more with every typing in this video. when you're adding a type to a pokemon, you're redesigning it in a sense and have to work from the ground up, looking at its design and pokedex entries first, so you had the perfect mindset going into this
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!
Toda line dark would be hax
Treeko line dark or dragon is cool but I'd love to see grass steel as it basically sharpens itself like a sword to fight and would be very powerful that way too. Sure fire destorys it but more options to cut down foes
Snivy line I'd go with fairy as a mythical creature that sheds it's arms and legs to become a snek. Sounds cool

@OKreations danm I just really got nuh nu by someone.
honestly grass/dark on sceptile is fine cause he's fast and frail so at this point so have so many weaknesses doesn't really hurt its role in being a fast attacker/mix attacker but at the same time still feel it deserves the dragon typing
Btw Dragon actually fits more on Serperior. In various legends dragons are known to be kings, symbols of royalty and to have a very dignified dispositions
Fairy is better of on pokemon that represent fantasy creatures known for either its cutesy and nurturing nature or for a mischievious and cruel disposition
Plus then Serperior could do Contrary Draco Meteor.

here’s my personal ideas! (i don’t really pay much attention to balance admittedly haha, so some of these trios might tip heavily in a certain starter’s direction):
Gen 1
- Venusaur: Grass/Poison
- Charizard: Fire/Dragon
- Blastoise: Water/Steal
Gen 2 (i prefer to keep them monotype, but if i had to choose i’d go with this):
- Meganiun: Grass/Fairy
- Typhlosion: Fire/Normal
- Feraligatr: Water/Dark
Gen 3:
- Sceptile: Grass/Dragon
- Blaziken: Fire/Fighting
- Swampert: Water/Ground
Gen 4:
- Torterra: Grass/Ground
- Infernape: Fire/Fighting
- Empoleon: Water/Steel
Gen 5:
- Serperior: Grass/Dragon
- Emboar: Fire/Dark
- Samurott: Water/Fighting
Gen 6:
- Chesnaught: Grass/Fighting
- Delphox: Fire/Psychic
- Greninja: Water/Dark
Gen 7:
- Decidueye: Grass/Ghost
- Incineroar: Fire/Dark
- Primarina: Water/Fairy
Gen 8:
- Rillaboom: Grass/Ground
- Cinderace: Fire/Fighting
- Inteleon: Water/Dark
Gen 9:
- Meowscarada: Grass/Dark
- Skeledirge: Fire/Ghost
- Quaquaval: Water/Fighting
1:36 blastoise cannot have steel type because that gives venusaur no way to be super effective against it, if a stater loses its supereffectiveness against the one it is supposed to be supereffect against it ruins the chart, when empoleon gained steel type torterra gained ground type to counter it
Literally saying that as if he DIDNT just talk about venusaur ground type moves
Literally empoleon exists
@@DualCannonsyes, but Torterra still beats Empoleon because Torterra gets Ground, which is super effective against Steel and not resisted by Water.
Meanwhile, Venusaur is still Grass/Poison, so Water/Steel Blastoise would take neutral damage from Grass and be outright immune to Poison
Was literally yelling this
@@SomeDudeWhoIsntDead Venusaur still learns ground type moves y'all smh
I think the problem with rillaboom is that there were a lot of “sound based” mons that were introduced in the same generation that would have probably justified the addition of the “sound” type, and without that it’s hard to figure out a backup type since it wasn’t added
What always bothers me when people are like "oh but if they had xyz type their learnset doesn't support the STAB outside of tms" well.. if the type *was* part of it they would have naturally gotten more of those moves since that is logical (I just ignoring lots of the very early gens lack of STAB for mons) so I'm glad you mostly took "vibes" into consideration and just said "yeah they don't currently have the moves but they'd get them"
I'm also glad you didn't do the "oh the Mega is xyz so we'll just slap that on" when.. Megas aren't even set in stone ie some replace types like Mega Charizard X or Mega Altaria while Mega Aggron *loses* Rock outright with no replacement.. so.. having Sceptile change actually still is perfectly logical
Personally I would have made Meganium the Grass/Fairy and Serperior the Grass/Dragon since.. Dragon still can be regal (have you SEEN the capes Lance and Clair wear and the outfit Iris has?!)
Did you seriously make Cinderace *another* Fire/Fighting?! Lol actually.. sure.. why not.. it at least had been a few gens (tbh that is why people were annoyed.. it was 3 gens in a row)
I literally talked about your two last points in my own comment 😂
This is great I appreciate the feedback! Love both pos and neg, it helps me out to get an understanding of how I can structure videos better. Appreciate it!
10000000000000% i hate when people use levelups/learnsets to argue against a type change like
it just makes no sense whatsoever
GF in general fucking sucks at making them fit or good anyways
@@doozsromhacks I mean, people ALSO use this tactic in favor of a type change as well. I'm not saying this, ALONE, should be enough; however, in some cases, the doubt can feel validated when paired with other elements
As annoying as another Fire/Fighting may be, I have no idea what else Cinderace could be if you needed to add another type. Cinderace's soccer player theme doesn't really lend itself to anything other than the athletic type, which is Fighting.
5:04 the thing is that the starter need to have a weakenes, fire, water, grasse, is a circlo.
I don’t think they need to be that way at their final evos tho
Blastoise literally has metal cannons but then Venusaur's poison typing would be a major weakness
I don’t see that as a problem
Meganium 100% fairy
HAHHAHAHA OMG I FOUND MY BOI QUARRR😂😂😂
@@jelledesu1108 wsg big bro
Your video appeared in my recommended and from the icon alone I instantly thought I respect that idea. Then you gave my fave starter the steel type which I’ve always thought it should have too. You have earned my sub
Hey I appreciate the comment! I’m glad you enjoyed!🫡
These would be my picks
Blastoise: Water,Steel
Meganium: Grass,Fairy
Typhlosion: Fire, Ground
Feraligator: Water,Dragon
Sceptile: Grass,Dragon
Serperior: Grass,Dragon
Samorout: Water,Steel
Rillaboom: Grass,Rock
Cinderace: Fire,Electric
Inteleon: Water,Ghost
Love the water steel samurott
@@OKreations me personally I wouldn’t give any starter the secondary Normal type as aside from a Ghost type immunity, they really wouldn’t really change at all, for me this goes down for other normal types like all the Normal,Flying types, Pyraoar line, Heliolisk line, Azurill (even though it definitely should’ve been Water,Fairy like its evolutions), Wigglytuff line, Sawsbuck line, Hisuian Zoroark line, Drampa, Obstagoon line, both forms of Indeedee, Girafirig line, Ursuluna, Wyrdeer, Arboliva line, Cyclizar, & Grafaiai,
Fair
@@adantelee5017 Normal type STAB damage can be pretty good to have, though. After the Fairy type was introduced, it could be argued be more reliable than Dragon STAB even, since the types you need other answers for hitting aren't also super effective against Normal. You can even still often kill Fighting types with strong Normal STAB in a pinch (with enough speed or bulk), since Normal's only weakness doesn't resist Normal. People underestimate it because Normal has a lot of the gimmick and weak 'mons like Bug suffered from.
I just subscribed for 2 reasons
1. Great content!
2. Making a new creative acronym for PDF 😂
Thanks so much dood!
Meganium is só bad that giving a dragon type makes it balanced
Great video!
Thanks so much dood!
I was pretty perplexed to hear you ascribe all these psychic attributes to inteleon and then come up with 3 types that arent psychic
The problem with Blastoise with Steel type: It's not weak to Venusaur anymore.
I think Water/Rock fits better. It is 4x weak to Grass, but in exchange can hit Charizard for 4x damage as well.
This also fixes the problem of Steel not being in gen 1.
I don’t really see that as an issue tbh, but I get where you’re coming from
water rock blastoise is some brainrot ahh change brother he has metal cannons
steel not being in gen 1 is fine magneton wasnt steel either lmao its like a 3 year gap
#ElectrictypeforCinderace
PS: I don't even like Cinderace (due to the soccer theme), but I'd prefer avoid another Fire/Fighting... we don't want another "Incineroar" incident, please 😅
I mean they already did double up on types in Hoenn, Sharpedo and Crawdaunt! But yeah I could see meganium and serperior swapping too!
Yeah fair about the fire fighting haha, I wouldn’t necessarily say that because the Mon runs it should get electric tho
Troo😂
If Cinderace gets turned into a fighting type one day, I'm going to turn whoever bright idea it was to make it a fighting type, into a ghost type.
Blastoise - Water Steel
Feraligator - Water Dark
Meganium - Grass Fairy
Sceptile - Grass Dragon
Serperior - Grass Dragon
Samurott - Water Fighting
Cinderace - Fire Normal
Rillaboom - Grass Fighting
Inteleon - Water Ghost
I didn’t include Typhlosion because we’ve now got Hisui/Sinnoh Typhlosion.
Cool choices! I like the meganium pick, but Typhlosion is a different Pokemon than Hisuian Typhlosion, so he’s still included here.
why is samurott here then
Troooooo
I’ll stand by this, starters should always be dual typing
I'd give Inteleon the Psychic type, it literally has "Intelligent" in its name
Last thing i'd do is giving cinderace the electric type, it's fast and I think there's a mention about the fact that scorbunny creates heat by friction bc it runs very fast, so i can def see it creating electricity too
While I can agree that the correlation "pink=fairy" is pretty dumb, it's not like the "reptile=dragon" is any better; also, we would than have three Grass/Dragon types as starters... and, if I have to pick only one as Dragon type, at this point I'd prefer pick Serperior (you know, the "Regal Pokémon"?)
Also yes, from a playthrough experience, Dragon would work... but Psychic as well; and this is something GameFreak even hinted a bit recently, with Meganium's Tera Raid
Serperior gets the popular dragon secondary type bc of the interaction between contrary and draco meteor, being "regal" is not necessairly a dragon type feature, I could also see it being psychic type bc of this reason like other "regal" pokemon (slowking, calyrex for example) where the psychic type could reflect the power and control it has over other pokemon
Meganium is often seen as a fairy type bc it's a gentler pokemon that can heal and calm others, with a more feminine design, but we also have other dragon types that fit the gentle dragon category like drampa and goodra, so while both types could fit I prefer dragon over fairy. Psychic type meganium tho, even if GF hinted at it being the more "canonical" option, idk, i don't really see it.
I feel Meganium makes more sense as a fairy type because of it pokedex entries, talking about how loving and caring they are, which just fits the fairy type vibe
Gen 2 the only change would be Meganium as a Fairy Type
Gen 5 is a Total Makeover with all 3 Starters changing.
Gen 8 Cinderace gets Fire/Electric, Intellion gets Water/Ghost, and Rillaboom gets Grass/Rock
overheat serp what is bro cooking
also samu doesnt have to be bipedal to be fighting type thats been proven by tons of other fighting types esp in newer gens paldean tauros slither wing etc
bro said fire/rock emboar redesign the whole mon and sure
rock rillaboom
elec cinderace

This is really neat, I enjoyed the video!
Glad to hear it!
Electric would be better for Cinderace
Why is that?
@@OKreations Mostly because it's unique and cool lol. But with how lightning-fast it is, I would believe it.
Bit of a stretch but I like the idea!
Congratulations, you managed to get almost all of them wrong.
Womp womp
Love the use of Gen 5 sprites! They are peak design and especially on Pokemon like Sceptile, Meganium, Blastoise who appear muted in most media especially the anime but are vibrantly colored in Gen 5 sprites form.
They are legit peak, totally agree
Here’s my unique reason for serperior having the Grass fairy typing that I’d want it to have. The reason why is because Serperior is apparently based on the Fleur de lis, and in pokemon the move Fleur Cannon is a fairy type move. In fact it’s the fairy type equivalent of leaf storm and the often requested for serperior Draco meteor, perfect for use with it’s contratry ability.
Boom
"Justice for Meganium✊😔"
I feel you😭😭
Blastoise: water & steel
Don't let the dummies in the comments get to you. This was a very fun, fresh, and creative video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much I appreciate it!
Love this!!! I'd honestly wanna draw the bois with your secondary type in mind
Go for it!
@@OKreations thx you!!!
Bro, the dark type on inteleon gives more dark vibe to him
Fun idea!
Serperior having a move named magical leaf even sounds like a move that could be duo typed as grass fairy .
Troooo
Idk why but like, Feraligator gives me water-fairy vibes? I think something within me sees that guy's inner joy and whimsy
I love how your Gen II choices were the same as those of SmithPlays.
Meganium could also get fairy typing as the flowery-ness is a bit fairy like
Would def make Sceptile part Dragon, as it's Mega already is.💚
Nice video, really got me thinking!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it!
loved your picks!
Thanks!
>"Cinderace should've been Fire/Fighting"
>Get's hired by Gamefreak
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah water flying would require a design change like you said which is not what we are trying to do here, but fun idea!
I have to say, i love the theming of the dual types for the gen 8 starters! Ghost just works so well for inteleon's spy theme together with the other two's fighting and normal to tell a story. Honestly just love that!
Glad you liked it! I appreciate it!
@@OKreations :)
NOT THE FIRE FIGHTINGGGGG. CINDERACE COULD'VE BEEN FIRE ELECTRIC SOOOOO EASILY
I've been screaming "fighting" all video just for you to choose dark, and the One time i say "definitely not fighting", THIS happens LMAOOO
I also think Inteleon could be psychic, but I'm fine with your choice as well
Having Samurott as a rock type makes sense since Oshawott is an otter and otters are known for using rocks as tools.
Giving Samurott Mighty Cleave is the best idea I ever heard
The dragon type only made megenium's situation worse 😭
I highly disagree with that haha
