For grass ground poison, he should have done ludicolo, mamoswine, and crobat. Crobat is still weak to the ground starter because mamoswine is part ice type.

For Grass-Ground-Poison, you could have done Lotad-Swinub-Zubat. The Mamoswine family gets to hit the Crobat family with Ice instead of Ground, and the Ludicolo family's water typings mean they are not weak to Ice, but are weak to Poison and Flying. It's a little weird but it works, each of them has at least one way to supereffectively hit the one they have the advantage over, and in the other direction each has one typing not very effective against the opponent and one typing neutral against it
I honestly hate the concept of “starter” pokemon. Can’t we think of another story element on how we get our first Pokémon instead of a professor giving us one? And why are all starter Pokémon the only ones in existence and never found in the wild!? I’d prefer that our trainer picks up an abandoned Pokémon at a daycare or hatches an egg of a random 3 stage Pokémon in the wild or something like that. Like having a Shinx as a natural starter and in the wild you can find a Torchick or something like every other Pokémon in existence... I’d like the daycare option best. One Pokémon of every type can be seen in the daycare for you to adopt. And your rival will choose ANY one of them that has a type advantage against you. And you can still catch all other Pokémon seen in the daycare somewhere else in the region.
I like the idea of receiving a starter from a daycare. I would like to see a "Pokemon: All-Stars" game where you basically have access to all pokemon. If Houndour is your favorite Pokemon you should be able to have it as your starter, you shouldn't have to wait for the second part of the game to access him/her. Any basic Pokemon should be available at this Daycare, with the exception of legendaries, which I feel wouldn't match the sprit of the game. Although I wouldn't really care if players wanted to steamroll though the game with Arceus... if that is how they wanted to play the game.
The Arbok line could work if they made it evolve into Seviper, which I totally thought Jesse's did since I missed a good chunk of the anime when she switched between the two.
Your explanation of the grass types kinda got me thinking. We don’t have a grass type Sloth starter. And that’s be pretty cool. Them housing a lot of bacteria on their backs(kinda like a tiny ecosystem themselves) is a cool premise I think.
We have Torterra and G-Max Snorlax, though. Missed opportunity might have been to have G-Max Slaking have that premise. Imagine Raihan using G-Max Slaking paired with Weezing with Neutralizing Gas. That would have been such a cool boss fight. Or, maybe he could have Slaking be his opening Pokemon (and weakest) in his gym battle, but when paired with Opal and her Weezing, it becomes his ace?
“These are the only 3 stage fire pokemon to choose from” Me: but, fletchling. *Sobs* Where’s my boy fletchling? “There base forms aren’t fire types” Preceded to sob even louder
I know it's late to the vid but I really like the Magmortar, Klinkklang and Gigalith as it is somewhat perfect for a theme. The age of stone (Gigalith) The age of fire (Magmortar) The age of steel (Klinkklang)
I once thought of that plus Fairy/Fire and Steel/Grass to make sure every starter could beat both of the other starters. Then I realized that would make the Steel starter too disadvantaged against the Fairy starter since Fire would become a 4x weakness and the Fairy starter would not be weak to Steel. So I went with Fairy/Fire, Fighting/Grass, and Steel/Water.
Ice/steel/ground exists as well, although naturally the one who uses ice has an inherent disadvantage if merged with Grass/fire/water. Grass/Ice would lose so hard to fire/steel but at least is x4 super effective against water/ground with grass and hopefully Freeze-Dry STAB. Of course, it would suck because Grass/Ice has many weaknesses. Fire/Ice would be powerful in all except Water/Steel, especially considering x4 STAB Ice types against a Grass/Ground type now exist. Water/Ice would still be the second worst because there would be grass/Steel weak to precious few except Fire, which a Fire/Ground type would have. Also, Fire/Ground counters other Fire types and neutralizes an Ice weakness Interestingly, the one with the best typing for Ice in relation to the others, Fire/Ice, also results in the Grass and Water starters of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.
@@iantaakalla8180 ice/ground/steel only works in the offensive direction. However defensively ice doesn’t resist ground and ground doesn’t resist steel

8:50 i made a fakémon starter trio where all of their final forms are part dragon type, with each being a different take on dragons (as they vary between cultures) The grass starter was a lumbering dinosaur-like drake, the water starter was a serpant and the fire starter was a winged feathered dragon
watching this has made me decide they need to just do away with requiring trading for 3rd evolution.... Literally nobody wants to trade a pokemon they have spent hours raising.
I'm playing the romhack pokemon unbound and they do away with it by using an item called the link stone. Any pokemom that would evolve via trade can instead evolve via link stone. No issues whatsoever especially since you can buy them alongside the other stones at the mall. Lol Perfect.
The trio was Magby Bellsprout and Horsea from Zeta and Omicron. The legendaries are Jirachi and I believe Victini. Team Asgard and Team Olympus are the team rockets of the games and I assume Olympus is the same as Asgard where the leaders are named after gods. A whole city got reduced to rubble. It's wild. Can't remember if it's infinite fusions or zeta that has a bar lol. I recently got a steam deck and I'm loving playing fan games on there. I actually got zeta specifically for the steam deck bc I was having issues with stuff and downloaded it alongside some files I needed to troubleshoot other games not working.
I've previously had an idea for a legendary trio with one of these type triangles: Rock/Fighting/Flying (all are also half Dragon so no need to worry about breaking the triangle), and I noticed it was a triangle after making them
It seems interesting how the Water-Type is the only starter type that has no other perfect triangle. And even though Palpitoad and Seismitoad are super weak to Grass, it works for them since Grass is their only weakness.
I believe that it’s a good idea to change a starters secondary typing for it to be good against the starter that is strong against the starter that counters you, like in s/v, so it can make the rival fights a little harder if their starter has super effective stab on you
Well, Empoleon getting the steel type is what really messed up the type triangle. Empoleon got the steel type, so they added the ground type to Torterra, and then that made them resist fire, so they added the fighting type to Infernape, which in turn, made it super effective against Empoleon. Nintendo was like the lady that swallowed a spider to swallow a fly.

Your rival's feeling good until you pick Sableye in gen 3

@@christianloder8127 unless its paired with Water, as in Fighting/Water
Where are the advantages ?
I once thought of that plus Fairy/Fire and Steel/Grass to make sure every starter could beat both of the other starters. Then I realized that would make the Steel starter too disadvantaged against the Fairy starter since Fire would become a 4x weakness and the Fairy starter would not be weak to Steel. So I went with Fairy/Fire, Fighting/Grass, and Steel/Water.
19:42 I feel like allowing the original starter types to appear in the new triangles defeats the purpose of rejecting the original triangle
The flying rock and fighting is actually a really solid trio!
Solid rock
_Badumptsss_
I couldn’t think of any other trio that didn’t involve fire water or grass. However grass/poison/ground and fire/steel/rock also exist
Ice/steel/ground exists as well, although naturally the one who uses ice has an inherent disadvantage if merged with Grass/fire/water.
Grass/Ice would lose so hard to fire/steel but at least is x4 super effective against water/ground with grass and
hopefully Freeze-Dry STAB.
Also, Fire/Ground counters other Fire types and neutralizes an Ice weakness
Interestingly, the one with the best typing for Ice in relation to the others, Fire/Ice, also results in the Grass and Water starters of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.
@@iantaakalla8180 ice/ground/steel only works in the offensive direction. However defensively ice doesn’t resist ground and ground doesn’t resist steel
