    My favorite thing is you emphasizing that some sugar is just fine. You aren't demonizing sugar but making it something to be aware of and not over do! You are my favorite to listen to ❤

    Oh my gosh I asked you a question on your last video and you totally answered it in this one! Yay! Thank you for all of the knowledgeable health information and trying to help us all get healthier. It's so easily to get tricked by the packaging and not realize how much extra sugar and chemicals can be in food. They put sugar in literally everything and it is quite disturbing LOL

    Veggie juices are okay though! Beet & ginger & celery. Carrot & ginger is a good one. Has anyone tried the Breville juicer? I just put mine in a blender & strainer. A pain but makes me feel great

    In May, I drove with my brother’s family, out of state, to attend my nephew’s college graduation. During the drive, my sister-in-law, started passing out snacks and I asked her if she had anything healthy. Her answer was “absolutely,” and then she asked if I wanted trail mix or a granola bar. The poor woman got to listen to me read the ingredients lists to her and explain why there was pretty much nothing healthy in her “healthy” options. I was shocked when I began to educate myself, initially through channels like yours, but now I read every label or opt for making my own versions of things, like you do.

      It’s so easy to make a big batch of your own homemade granola which can last a couple weeks or more in the pantry! I make a couple batches of different flavours of granola at a time and add to Greek yoghurt, sprinkled over pancakes or waffles, and as cereal with milk/almond milk and berries. You’ll never go back to buying granola again after making your own!😊 There are SO much added sugars & fats in store bought granola, even in ‘healthier’ brand granolas.

    Thanks for the good information. I’m literally addicted to flavored oatmeal. Going to get the plain style next time and plan Greek yogurt ( had been doing non-fat Greek vanilla). I am doing the raw nuts but I’m going to try making my own like you did and watch out more for better protein bars and unsweetened juice. I like keeping cranberry on hand for female reasons, but it’s tough because of the sugar! Thanks, you are very inspiring. You have a beautiful kitchen and I love how passionate you are about nutrition and fitness. It’s really helping me. My heaviest weight was 178 and I’m 5’6 and now I am 162 -165. I know it’s sugar holding me up from losing the rest. Im trying to drop to 150 because I read that’s a healthy weight for my height and age. Hopefully I’ll still feel healthy and happy and not tired at that weight. I’m 40. It’s hard to feel energetic and I think it probably is some of the food I’m eating. I do yoga and ballet and lots of walking but it’s hidden sugars and food holding me back. I hope you make more videos. I love them and they are super helpful. Happy Fall

      I remember when Ryan had grabbed some flavored oatmeal from a known "healthy" brand. He didn't read the label because you assume, they make good stuff. Got home, we read it together and our jaws dropped at the sugar level. There are tons of great swaps though, so don't stress on it, you've got this!

      Your are probably better off with cream and a little (teaspoon or so) of sugar/brown sugar or a few drops of a flavored stevia. I haven't seen any good coffee creamer that doesn't have chemicals in it.

      Cashew milk is thick like coffee creamer & tastes really good. I'm a barista so I've tested a lot of different variations. Silk makes a creamy cashew milk that you can get for just $4 at Walmart and it's only 25 calories, too! I just use cashew milk & some cinnamon in my coffee.

    Hi! Yes please keep making these great videos!! I live in Canada so it’s challenging to find as many healthier options at the grocery store unless you go to a specific natural foods store, and even then to stay on a budget in a natural foods store is tough here!! Great video! I'm confused about the protein bar portion though. When you were showing the RX bar the captions said there were too many added sugars. However, the label said 0 added sugars. Is you issue with RX bars that they are too high in natural sugars, even though they don't contain any refined added sugars? Thanks so much!

    I love celery juice but never drink it because I have heard it always has to be juiced fresh or else it oxidizes and you don't get the benefits of it. What are your thoughts? It does make sense that drinking it from the store is better than nothing? It's quite the hassle to juice fresh celery juice daily

    Pretty much hit the nail on the head with this video! Nice work! I will add, fruit is an amazing addition to anyone’s diet as it provides fiber, antioxidants, and raw sugar to make you feel satisfied and give you energy throughout the day! So don’t be afraid to eat fruit just because it has “sugar” in it. It’s when it comes in juice form, like Katie said, and it consists of added sugars and dozens of different fruits in portions that no human needs in one day. So happy you included that info about juices!! 🥰👏🏻

    This video was amazing! When I was working out and trying to eat healthy, all I ate was breakfast and boiled chicken, rice, and random veggies. It's been almost 5 years because of rough pregnancy and recovery, but I'm ready to start making small switches to get me started and make alternatives.
    My old go to workout snack was a banana and a power crunch bar. It's so hard to find a protein bar with more protein than carbs.

    Hi Katie! Great video about disguised healthy foods. Question...Just about every monk fruit option I see at the grocery store or health food store is a blend of monk fruit and erythritol, which apparently is a sugar alcohol. Is that a safe option or are there pure monk fruit options out there? Do you have any brand recommendations? TY!

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  2 роки тому +1

      The monk fruit we use in LSF products is all natural, that is of course my preference and what I would be looking for. That said, unless you have an aversion to a bit of sugar alch (some do) then it's likely a small amount and still better than most other sweeteners.

    I’m waiting for your protein bar to hit the scene Katie!! Thoughts on the brand One Protein bar?

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  2 роки тому +1

      It's on my mind for sure, but since they are so hard to do right + taste great, will make sure to take time with it. One Protein is another deceptive example unfortunately. Yes, 1g of sugar, great. However, the ingredients are not. General rule of thumb, if the brand has flavors like "birthday cake" it's going to be really unlikely they are able to make that flavor profile w/o some not so great ingredients. I'd pass on One and go w/ GoMacro, RX or Perfect.

    I'm so annoyed with protein. Some people say we get to much, some to little. Some say it causes inflammation and slows digestion, some say it repairs digestive tract. Some say animal protein is more bioavailable, some say plants. 😮‍💨😭 I don't eat a ton of meat because it doesn't always digest well for me. I work out for health and aesthetic, I don't want to be skinny I want to be "everyday" strong... not body builder strong (I'm currently pregnant also.)
    Obviously the standard American diet doesn't work because most people are overweight/ obese. Can you go into detail about protein. I'm not sure why there is such contradiction when it comes to "diets" no wonder everyone is lost lol

      I'm not sure what monk fruit sweetener you've had, but most often it is all natural, doesn't raise your blood sugar levels and is easily the best option out there IMO. When it comes to adding sweetener, it doesn't get better than Monk Fruit. For instance, the monk fruit we use in LSF products is 100% natural, there is no erythritol. That is more common than not in any products I've used.

      If you go to the baking section of a local grocery store you can’t find monkfruit sweetener without erythritol because it’s mixed together to make the highly expensive ingredient go further and look more like table sugar
      They do make monkfruit without erythritol, and I hope that’s what’s in your LSF products!!
      I did not know anything about it until I received my bachelors in culinary nutrition
      You have such a platform and I just wanted to inform you so you can inform others 💗😊

    Hi Katie. Lily's chocolate chips contain erythritol. That's an alcohol sugar and it's the first ingredient. Just wanted to state this in the comments because people with gut issues might find themselves running to the toilet by consuming these alcohol sugars.

      Nothing is going to be perfect for everyone :) If I listed out every disclosure for every condition, it would make for a pretty rough video.
