That was my major complaint about my rolling spider the fact it needs an app, thanks for reviewing it I may have to consider it (hopefully they will have software improvements too!)
I own a rolling spider, it sits on a shelf and collects dust.
Yep, mine has been on the shelf since I reviewed it. I only brought it back out to try it with the FlyPad.
did you noticed any range extension? as they promised?
I just used a bluetooth controller with my phone and the app worked just fine with it. You don't need a special controller. Any bluetooth game controller should work on your phone. You can even use a PS4 controller in bluetooth mode.
love your car man!
Thanks, me too! :D
I love your videos
Thanks! :)
just started rc drones, cant wait to do more vids!!
i have this drone and i really like it
yes have the rolling spider just couldn't ever get it to update something in the app using the pc and all.
Ryan please retest the drone and also download the software update because I want to buy one but I don't know if till now it's bad
Hey Ryan. Please do a tiny whoop!!! Or blade inductrix!!!
I will be reviewing the Inductrix FPV. :)
yes! I'd really like to see the blade inductrix
+Flyin' Ryan RC j
very nice video like
I don't think drone is connected to remote the phone might be hub now make it laggy cause it has to listen to remote then send to quad
how far away does it go with the controller?
can you do a set up for phone?
It has to go through the phone because it is a gen 1 parrot mini drone the get 2s like the mambo and the swat etc. you can connect straight to the drone and it extends the range! And the gen 2s don't do the 1/4 turn yaws, they do a full yaw, feels just like a real drone with altitude hold!
Good to know! Thanks for the info! :)
is the Airborne Mars capable of extending the range?
Flyin' Ryan RC love the show thanks for all the reviews!
Kwint Berg not sure if that's a gen 1 or 2 easiest way to tell is the charge time if it's around 25 min or so it's a gen 2 if it's around an hour it's a gen 1.
then its a 2 gen can charge in 25 min :p.
btw wasn't abel to find how to connect it directly to the drone than via the app. Any idea how it can be done? so i can try this out in my local shop before buying it.
Great video. Can you briefly state how to connect both the phone and flypad to the drone? Do they both use bluetooth?
Yeah, they all use Bluetooth. So, have Bluetooth turned on on your phone, then launch the app, power up the quad, and power up the flypad, and they should all sync up.
Thanks!
I wonder if the controller actually talks to the app on your phone and not the quad.
how to fly with my andriod plz tell me my cute bro
hey Ryan do you have a review of the Proto X to little mini Nano quad
I think it's made by a Estes the rocket engine people
Yeah, I reviewed the Proto X ages ago. ;)
I have a parrot minidrone but mine has this weird glitch that when it's a bit windy the and the quad gets hit with a gust it auto lands
Weird
The Halloween Reviewer def weird
On your car, what Infinity model is that?
2003 G35 :)
Is that a new rolling spider? Because most of them had battery problems
Nope, this is the same one I reviewed ages ago, with the same battery. I would suspect any "battery problem" would be due to user error, and new users that do not know how to properly maintain a LiPo battery.
Nirvan Frost the battery problem can easily be resolved one of 2 ways most ppl just push the 2 connectors alil to the left or right it's a connection issue I believe from users crashing a lot which causes the battery pins to bend alil ez fix or send it back to get another
lol true I mean it was a recommendation and I understand it is alot o bucks
Do you get more range with the FlyPad
I'd imagine so, but I never test range, so I don't really know.
ok
ACES on the Go u get a lot more range if u can see it lol almost triple the range
Do you recommend this for me I'm 13?
Yeah, sure. :) But it's quite expensive, especially if you want this controller with it too.
Hector Lombert now the rolling spider is onsale for 40.00 and the pad is 40.00 so it's relatively affordable but it can take a beating and keep going. If you want a deal just get the reg rolling spider cuz their all the same just the spider is the cheapest cuz no cannon or grabber but I don't want those things I never use the wheels.I just found out recently my target is a phantom and parrot carrier now batteries r 19.99 with a charger not bad they were sold out of rolling spiders they had bebops onsale and swings.I really like the bebop 2 that this is sick with all the bells and whistles
will there be a mavic pro review?
Nope. I have hard feelings towards DJI, and that model is simply too expensive for me to buy just to review it for my viewers, even though I know people would probably really like to see me review it. I just don't feel right giving that company any more exposure. Sorry. :(
Flyin' Ryan RC
I love my phantom. What happened to create such hard feelings toward DJI? They seem like a pretty great company.
aidan c. DJI markets their products irresponsibly. They sold the Phantom as "for beginners" which brought a lot of irresponsible people, doing irresponsible stuff, into this hobby. NO ONE should start with a quad like a Phantom, and DJI never should've made it sound like a model that someone can or should start with. DJI is 100% responsible for the negative connotation that this hobby now has ("drones"), and also for the government cracking down on us with regulations. This hobby went without any major laws for decades before DJI came along. :/ They also sponsor their products to people like that moron Casey Neistat, who flies over cars and people in DOWNTOWN NYC, and even causes fly-aways in the middle of the city, because of his carelessness. But DJI does nothing to sponsor actual RC channels or reviewers. They also have awful customer service, from what I've heard.
Other companies sell higher end drones too that do the samething as Phantoms do, but in the end it's the shitty users to blame. . Just like a gun. You can't blame the manufacture for misuse of their guns. it's the irresponsible person behind the trigger to blame. Drones can't fly themselves until you put a douche bag behind the sticks to mess it up for the rest of us.
TheBigb1973 Other companies have followed DJI's lead. ;) And I completely disagree with the comparison to guns (and don't get me wrong, I am very much pro-gun). DJI has directly marketed this to irresponsible users... they have even straight up put it in the hand of irresponsible users (see Casey Neistat). This is not a matter of irresponsible users just happening upon DJI's products... DJI actively pursued those users, and told them they could fly this thing. It would be like Glock marketing directly to mentally unstable people. At that point, you can't just blame the mentally unstable... you would have to blame Glock for marketing to them.
but with sky controller
Even more expensive. lol
i dont think this will work.
if its weird why did you get it
Because I am a REVIEWER, and I didn't know if it was weird or not until I bought it and reviewed it.
140 bruuhh
maybe you should try Parrot Bebop or Parrot Bebop 2
Too expensive.
Isael Hernandez I actually think the bebop 2 is a fair price but the prices are goin even lower so Ima wait to see if parrot releases sumthing different maybe in the middle of a bepbop2 and a disco
$32.94 since this video was made and i just bought one for $20.00 on eBay, however after watching your videos on this i feel like i got ripped off, even at 20 dollars. lol
I've had the rolling spider. To be honest, it is extremely overrated and overpriced for what you get. Parrot is a pretty disappointing company overall. I have the jumping sumo which I bought for 200 dollars in 2014, and it lasted about a month with gentle use. I'd never buy from parrot again, and I'd only buy the rolling spider for $40 max. They also need to make new things (that are affordable). I understand the new releases, but they are all about $500. They've also modded the jumping sumo and rolling spider, but it's really nothing new. Nice review, though.
Did you see my review of the Parrot Swing yesterday? It's actually very nice, and $150, which I'm sure will come down even more in a few months.
Flyin' Ryan RC yeah, it was a great review, and I am kind of a new person to drones. I've been flying them for a year, but I crash them, a lot. Isn't the build quality of the swing, well, flimsy?
It's foam, which is pretty standard for planes. And, while it's really hard to crash that thing, I did hit a tree once, and my house, and no damage was done. :)
Hi, a little latente I see. ;)
What does latente mean?
a little of delay ;)
Ah, so probably "latency" in English. :) Yeah, there is a delay in the controls for sure.
Thank you, sorry latente is in French :)
I took a few years of French class in high school, but I didn't do very well, and I only remember how to say a few numbers and a couple curse words. LOL
