Parrot Flypad Unboxing and Comparison

- The Parrot Flypad was released as a companion to the new Mambo, Swing, and any other Parrot MiniDrone. But did you know that it also worked on the Bebop? Well, as soon as I found out, I had to get one. So here's the first video, and I compare it to a generic bluetooth gamepad I had lying around, as well as a NVIDIA SHIELD controller.
Parrot says it's $39.99 MSRP, but you can check the latest pricing and availability on Amazon here:

Thanks for the video, does it work with the jumping race drones like the Jett or Max? Thank you
So how was the latency and range with the Bebop 1? I'm looking for a good controller for my Bebop because mobile phone on-screen controls and huge latency sucks.
Very good. I'm overdue on a follow up video. Will try to get to that. It's definitely worth the money.
Ah, good. Thanks for the response.
After the last update of the FreeFlight Mini app it won't connect to the Flypad or the Cargo Drone anymore so nothing works! I was going to try using the Flypad with the mini drone directly but none of the controls or buttons are marked as to what they do except the Take Off button so I figure it will just take off and fly away with no way to land it! Have you tried using the Flypad by itself?
I will test it today and get back to you. Also, I don't have a cargo drone but I have a Mambo and Swing...
The drone will still pair to the phone with Bluetooth but when the Freeflight Mini app starts it causes Bluetooth to disconnect and it can't even find the Flypad at all!
I tried the drone indoors with the Flypad and it did take off and kind of hover then eventually get unstable and crash. Take off works OK but landing not so much, it goes down to the floor but doesn't shut down the motors then it flips over and finally stops! The Flypad is made to look like an X Box controller with similar buttons so the joysticks work pretty much normally and the two buttons on the left make it flip either to the left or right but I have no idea what the other ones do.
I wonder why the idiot programmers at Parrot are releasing software that kills their products? Seems like they need to hire some new programmers that can write an app that's not a total fail!
There are lots of people complaining about Parrot updates ruining the drones. If yours still works don't do any updates!

Does that controller work with the bebop drone
Yes it does, and very well, I might add.
What is the range with bebop 1 compared to a cel phone?
Working on that, but I don't think it's too much further. The controller only has Bluetooth, and extends the range of the MiniDrones, but the Bebop needs WiFi. You'd be better off buying a Skycontroller for extended range for the Bebop, if you could get one cheap.
I'll be doing for testing with this if you'll subscribe to the channel!
Suscribed :)
How do you connect it to your bebop
I'll do a demo, but just fire up Free Flight Pro, hit the little controller button towards the right, and hit the drop down button. Turn on the Flypad and you'll see it as an available option to connect to. Then start up your Bebop. Don't start the Bebop first, I've found that often doesn't work well.
Buzzcopters ok thanks
Don't forget to subscribe, I'll have some demo videos up in a couple of weeks.
How do you connect to an ar drone 2.0 please
I don't know, I do not own one.
Buzzcopters ok and you know if we can do it
I'm very sorry, but I don't know.
Buzzcopters Ok have a good day tell me if you have some news 😉
Of course, will do - don't forget to subscribe!
