I was there. Great show. Metallica’s biggest concert in US at that time. I was in the front below Clif Burton. I met him the year before and still have the pics of him and I flipping off the camera in front of the tour bus.
I had to have been standing right beside you at some time because I was also right up front standing in front of Cliff during Whiplash.

I was there to. Not up front but near cliffs side of the stage and in a hap hazard mosh pit , 17yrs old and livin the dream 🤘

This show was the first time I saw Metallica. And I can still remember Yngwie Malmsteen's guitar solo, the guy is amazing. The Scorpions were great too, this show had green lasers all around the Coliseum.
Thank you for uploading this great concert that was my first Day on the Green. I sat down the first base side under the stands to enjoy the shade on that hot summer day. Of the six groups playing that day, I had only seen Y&T before. This was my only time seeing Cliff. 😔
Ahhhh, memories. *This* was my very first Scorps show. I had THEE BIGGEST crush on Klaus. Yeah, while every other girl was all about that delicious poser, Matthias (and who could blame them), I wanted to, uh, have at Klaus' voice. [ahem] By the time of this show, I maniacally knew every lyric from every song they recorded. Didn't hurt that I had a heavy metal boyfriend who I demanded played Scorpions songs for me every day. At this show, I was bound and determined to get as close to Klaus as I could and, as it turned out, my gf and I intentionally sat behind the stage.... which afforded us multiple opportunities to encounter him as the band took breaks. That's when I got the most memorable kiss of my life. Yeah, from Klaus! lol I was *so* smitten, I don't remember the drive back to the South Bay.
This was one of my all time best concerts to see. Yngwie was out on top. I regret not giving Metallica a closer look when they were playing...RIP Cliff. I was so stoned, I didn't even realize Ratt played...lol...
I never got to attend any concerts like this but damn if I ever have access to a time machine I am going back in time to one of the many great "day on the green" !!!!!

Was there to see favorite hard rock band scorpions also ratt and yngwie mettalica.great concert lineup.wont see great concerts like this ever again.i was 16 in hs.

They cranked were loud bass pounded ground too bad audio cant capture bass etc excellent
THIS was the time to hit PAUSE so to speak and exterminate the future...for it sucked, this was glory rock!!
by the time the scorpions came on I was so ripped man, after standing in the sun all day and moshing to metallica, then ynt and ratt I was just done, I had to sit up in the stands and just watch the tv version of the scorps on the big screen.
It was a great show. Long day though. It was great to be young.😊

Still got the ticket stub!!! YOU CANT CATCH A GIG LIKE THAT ANYMORE . I remember walking to "bart"the next morning giving the Springsteen fans a little s#$t for missing the show😂.

My first Day on the Green. Bought Scorpions and Y&T shirts. Nearly missed the midnight Bart train back to Concord. It was a long, loud and wonderful day. My friend hated Metallica and slept during their performance.
