In a way he was unlucky that he had to fill the shoes of 2 of the most talented and influential guitar player ever existed (Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth), everyone else would pale in comparison, but Matthias did a great Job in his 40+ years with the band, perfectly fits what they play.
I was living in So.California from 1980-84 and saw Scorpions many times live….including the US Festival 83 2nd day, which they ruled. This band gave 1000 percent every show. Those were the days.
Klaus meine has a great voice, loud and clear, echoing throughout the stadium..singing 5 to 6 songs is still energetic...most rock band singers sing 3 to 4 songs The voice is no longer powerful..but this Scorpions singer still has energy until the end of the concert...Klaus meine the best rock singer in the world has a great and steady voice..
My friend and I were invited to meet them on their tour bus after a show in Atlanta in the 1990’s. We had a friend in the music business that arranged it. Wow! They were ALL so nice and had their wives/girlfriends sitting there too. I told Klaus, that I would love to hear “As Soon As The Good Times Roll” in concert and he said “You like that one do you”. They offered us refreshments, we declined and they signed a poster. We didn’t stay long but I was so happy they were not unpleasant and didn’t rush us to leave, we left on our own, they were just so nice, a perfect meeting… my husband and I are going to 2 shows in Vegas, Love At First Sting is my favorite album. We saw them at the Grand ole Opry in Nashville in 2016. They are the Best! Just wanted to share how nice they were . Rock On Everyone 😀.

For the 70's sure, but this 80's version is the best chemistry between Rudy and Mattias... Saw them after Rhythm of Love. '8x something, The best show still to this day. And I have seen a great deal of shows. Judas Priest was a close second, but it was Painkiller. Might of been equal.
scorpions together with judas priest were by far my favorites of all time both as a live band and as a discography. the thing is that they were at their peak until the crazy world tour, which then coincided with the abandonment of f buchholz. the rest is history.

I can remember this night! I was 13 years old and it was a real fight to explain my parents me sitting the hole night at TV to look all this fantastic bands, specially The Scorpions. They are from lower saxony like me, only 60 km away! At this time, as a young guitar player, Matthias was and is one of my heroes! 🤘👍🔥

Jetzt, kurz vor der ominösen 60, wird es aber wieder schneller und härter(damit meine ich die Musik😂) Manowar, wieder Accept(welche der vielen Varianten auch immer😉), Amon Amarth und Arch Enemy sind gerade bei mir auf dem Schirm😃

When I was first getting into Scorpions in middle school, I would come home from school, take Blackout or Love At First Sting out of my dad's chest of records and just listen endlessly. Then, in the mornings while waiting for one of my parents to be ready to take me to school, I'd watch this concert and the Tokyo one (other one just published) and just get lost in them. I've searched for them for some time and couldn't find the entire set, it's nice that they've been re-uploaded in their entirety (at least as I remember them from older videos) and in such great quality!

I saw them at the Thomas and Mack Arena in Vegas in either 1990 or 1991. I was in the USAF at Nellis. I forgot which year it was, too much alcohol, lol 😂. Great show, btw.
Take a look here. You got your standard rock band. Guitars, drums, bass, vocals. What you don't have here is a huge video screen to amuse the modern audience. There are no peeps watching the gig on their cell phones. This was rock n roll.
Exactly the intro from under the drum kit I saw in 1982 on their "Blackout" tour. Iron Maiden opened for them on their "Beast on the Road" tour. What an awesome show it was an why I love and miss these days. I even still have the ticket stub lol. Long live rock!
My first experience with the Scorpions was them as a guest band for Ted Nugent at the St Paul Civic Center in 81 or 82. Also had Blackfoot. Loved all of them ever since. Didn't look it up, but Klaus must be 70 by now? Great singers never die.
I had forgotten how much I love these dudes. Saw them Labor Day 1984 at Firebird Raceway outside of Phoenix, AZ. There were over 100K of us crazies there and a few folks actually died for a few different reasons. Needless to say it was the last totally general admission show at that venue. RIP to those whose last show was Scorpions Labor Day 84',

They did but Dave Left. There is a 1984 Tour dhow outside that is ProShot, the Record Company was not going to promote Dave when Sammy was in the band. There are two kinds of Quality, the actual reproduction, and the Show, VanHalen were horrible live because Dave wanted to sing everything different from the Albums.
The Scorpions were a touring machine in those days. I saw them for the first time in '84 and it was an awesome show. They already had ten years under their belts and it made them a super tight band. They were very fortunate too have Mathias Jabs join the band. His tone is incredible........and I don't know how he kept those Gibson Explorers in tune.

It always surprises me that they are kept in the background, I can't tell if it's the music industry itself that has tried to keep Scorpions songs less known than the British and American bands. But it's admirable how they've never let anything get in their way, because their Passion Rules the Game!
I remember when this first came out, i was a young lad and i still get more than exhilarated from listening to it today, this stuff is legendary! I had World Wide Live on a cassette tape and wore it out and it still plays🙂, a few years later i found it on cd, there was no such thing as cds when this first came out. This is real rock and roll and can never be dated! It still sounds amazing! ❤❤❤❤ SCORPIONS!
The Scorpions are cool because you get two bands out of them. The early band with Uri and the later band with Matthias. And they both rock!! 🤘😝🤘 I guess you have 3 different bands if you count Lovedrive...
I was there,unbelievable line up,2 day festival in a big hall.The day I attended Deff leppard,Iron Maiden Ozzy Osbourne,Judas Priest and Scorpions where playing.2 stages no waiting times between shows,packed crowd and great atmosphere and no cellphones and verry loud.And a few weeks later it was aired on TV

“Animal Magnetism” is such an incredible album!! I was in high school when that was released and I still listen to it all the time. German bands like Accept and the Scorpions helped shape rock into the 80’s.

Matthias Jabs style of guitar playing is what got me hooked with the Scorpions. I love the entire band, but it was his style that caught my attention.

Worldwide Live was the best concert I ever attended. The Scorpions were severely etched into my mind and noone ever matched up with them live.

Take a look here. You got your standard rock band. Guitars, drums, bass, vocals. What you don't have here is a huge video screen to amuse the modern audience. There are no peeps watching the gig on their cell phones. This was rock n roll.
Exactly the intro from under the drum kit I saw in 1982 on their "Blackout" tour. Iron Maiden opened for them on their "Beast on the Road" tour. What an awesome show it was an why I love and miss these days. I even still have the ticket stub lol. Long live rock!

My first experience with the Scorpions was them as a guest band for Ted Nugent at the St Paul Civic Center in 81 or 82. Also had Blackfoot. Loved all of them ever since. Didn't look it up, but Klaus must be 70 by now? Great singers never die.
He will be 76 in May.
I had forgotten how much I love these dudes. Saw them Labor Day 1984 at Firebird Raceway outside of Phoenix, AZ. There were over 100K of us crazies there and a few folks actually died for a few different reasons. Needless to say it was the last totally general admission show at that venue. RIP to those whose last show was Scorpions Labor Day 84',

They did but Dave Left. There is a 1984 Tour dhow outside that is ProShot, the Record Company was not going to promote Dave when Sammy was in the band.
There are two kinds of Quality, the actual reproduction, and the Show, VanHalen were horrible live because Dave wanted to sing everything different from the Albums.

The Scorpions were a touring machine in those days. I saw them for the first time in '84 and it was an awesome show. They already had ten years under their belts and it made them a super tight band. They were very fortunate too have Mathias Jabs join the band. His tone is incredible........and I don't know how he kept those Gibson Explorers in tune.

Best rock band of all time, and still rocking on! It always surprises me that they are kept in the background, I can't tell if it's the music industry itself that has tried to keep Scorpions songs less known than the British and American bands. But it's admirable how they've never let anything get in their way, because their Passion Rules the Game!

I remember when this first came out, i was a young lad and i still get more than exhilarated from listening to it today, this stuff is legendary! I had World Wide Live on a cassette tape and wore it out and it still plays🙂, a few years later i found it on cd, there was no such thing as cds when this first came out. This is real rock and roll and can never be dated! It still sounds amazing! ❤❤❤❤ SCORPIONS!

I was there,unbelievable line up,2 day festival in a big hall.The day I attended Deff leppard,Iron Maiden Ozzy Osbourne,Judas Priest and Scorpions where playing.2 stages no waiting times between shows,packed crowd and great atmosphere and no cellphones and verry loud.And a few weeks later it was aired on TV

“Animal Magnetism” is such an incredible album!! I was in high school when that was released and I still listen to it all the time. German bands like Accept and the Scorpions helped shape rock into the 80’s.
And Scorpions shaped Accept before that 😂
