Every time I see an episode of Doctor Who with River Song, I am immediately reminded that she will always go back to the Library. And I die a little inside.
They must have whole teams of people just to fix Matt's bowtie. It's adorable.
Karen and Arthur's faces at 0:57 are priceless. It's like they're horrified and getting blinded at the same time.

And the first kiss, when he brings his arm up around her shoulder... *SQUEEEEE* And his expression was so....gentle and loving.
The second one was very passionate and adorable.

I say the wedding totally counts! He was piloting the suit after all so he really did perform the marriage. It would be nice to see a real wedding at some point though, and a honeymoon!
River's wedding on top of a PYRAMID does not impress her.
Because there's a billion other things far more extravagant... Though I suppose when you have a TARDIS and you're marrying the Doctor he could at least throw something together better than a pyramid wedding...

They better have a real wedding with proper vows at some point (even if only via fanfic). Love the kiss though, so much more satisfying then the cut down version in the show.

I know how River knows his name, and that she will return. In Silence in the Library, the Doctor said there is only one time he can speak his name, and in The Wedding of River Song (I think) Dorium said that the Doctor will tell someone his name in the fields of Trenzalore, at the Fall of the Eleventh, so River must be there!

These people just make me wriggle with glee. And given that I crush on both Matt and Alex the glimpse behind the scenes there was just delicious. "Ooooh, I could just kiss you all night." "And I you, Miss Kingston ... what a lucky boy I am."

@auntdew I think marriage by bowtie is pretty legit. In any case, a proper marriage with proper vows wouldn't be fair to either characters. Or it would have to be an open one. . .

River is a total paradox and it's so amazing!!!!
I personally think I can wait to see how that plays out if it 'honestly' (because we all know that Moffat is freaking crazy with plot twists) involves the "Fall of the Eleventh" ;__;
@MissPantha999 Considering that it was the Doctor who was puppeting the tesselector, I say it doesn't matter. You can think of it as being the most bizzare wedding suit ever.
I really wish they used the first kiss, in the show instead of the one they did use. It was so much more satisfying and it felt more real.

In Silence in the Library River says she dated a robot and that it was rubbish! SO because it was the teselector that kissed River then (contrary to Alex saying that the robot was a good kisser) they just filled in another piece of pre-established plot! Brilliant! :D
It's almost embarrassing how many times I've watched this. Ohh the kiss... What is the song too? It's really cute. :-)

@RoseForEverafter I could agree but it depends more on whether or not he was piloting it ~alone~. It did after have a crew and while the Doctor is obviously amazing, I doubt it was set up to be operated so intricately by someone standing in what amounts to the porch window.

Matt giggling is the sweetest thing 😂 i loved this cast so much man. Don't get me wrong. I love Capaldi but Jenna was just not IT for me 😭. Even when Jenna was in Matt's run, she was NOT a joy to watch lol. Karen and Alex with Matt, however, is fun to witness

So basically River marries a human size shape changing robot on top of a pyramid piloted by the guy it was then modelled on and get married in front of Rvers parents who are actually older than her at the time.Some family!

@TheSeverusSnape Seriously, at several different points in episodes and in commentaries, it's implied that neither of them are monogamous. I love that idea, though. I wouldn't mind that much if they were exclusive, but I think it's far more interesting for them to have an open timey-wimey relationship than a strictly monogamous one. As long as they are true to each other in the moment, I don't care.
