    If the cymbals are too loud for you just tape the edges or put some rubber on the edges, it will make them almost silent but will still bounce your stick more than a cymbal pad does. Plus they wont eat your sticks up so fast.

    This was very helpful and answered all the questions I would have about these cymbals and low volume drumming. Thanks bud

      Thank you! I could not find any other videos on these particular cymbals so I made them lol I’m glad it helped if you have any other questions let me know! I’m very happy to help. I’m probably gonna try a really cheap set in the future to compare them to. Like one of those $70 sets you can get from Amazon

    Great info thanks. I got the Wuhan China and sounds great and try the On-Stage low-volume cymbals their really quiet and sound really good. You get a 5 pack for under a hundred bucks for great sounding low-volume On-Stage cymbals.

      I would like to try more brands and cheap packs of them but I have ekit now…. So I haven’t bought any drum stuff in quite a while 😅

    Nice video, been looking for low volume cymbals and been looking at Wuhan ORA for the price and sound. I don't really have to go to low volume in the daytime, but more and more I wouldn't mind practicing at night.

      They are great cuz they actually have good tone to them. I use them in my cover for “end of heartache” on this channel if you wanna hear them. The China lacks any real volume or tone but the crashes actually sound like crashes. Honestly they are just great for also protecting your ears while doing the daily practice and then use the real full volume cymbals for gigs and studio work.

    Thanks I didn't know about the Wuhans. I bought one of the Zildjians L80s about a year ago to check it out but didn't care for it. It felt okay but to much stick sound, not enough cymbal sound. I'll look into the Wuhans.

  • @SunnyHF-nf4bc

    The low-volume cymbals are like giant cheese graters for drumsticks. It’s not just you, I also think they’ll eat drumstricks in half the time. Lol.
    As you pointed out, while the Wuhans are much more affordable, they’re still pretty loud. I actually got a little nervous playing them without ear protection, but they are still much safer than full-volume cymbals.
    I have played almost every variant of low-volume cymbals (except for the Meinl HCS practice line and Trick). Zildjian L80s are the gold standard. Unfortunately, they’re so freakin’ expensive.

    Hey man, nice review. My question is.. you say these cymbals are still quite loud. Do they become too loud for silent heads? Are they more suited for regular drum heads?

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  5 місяців тому +1

      In my experience of doing covers with regular drum heads and the lower volume cymbals (see my video for end of heartache drum cover) I can say that they work well with regular drum heads actually. They aren’t TOO loud for the silent heads either though so I have never changed them out since I got them. My regular cymbals are just on the shelf cuz to me these Wuhan Oras are just better for my ears as well.
      The ora China is kind of an exception cuz it is REALLY quiet and doesn’t really sound like a real China at all so that’s one cymbal that might bother you. The crashes sound great and the ride pings and hi hats … hi hat 😅

    You’re right about the e kits but the kit that you showed is less then 300 dollars and kits in the 500 to 600 range come with a proper kit tower I would say personally I would buy an e kit or the cymbals for a mesh acoustic kit

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  Рік тому

      I moved on up into the ekit world and broke down and got an alesis strike pro. $2699 later lol but the possibilities with an ekit like this are almost endless. I have my ekit in my office here inside my house too so that makes thing much easier. I still think it’s pretty loud especially for the small 3 bedroom house I have but it’s definitely much quieter than the low volume cymbals and mesh heads/drum mutes. Plus with headphones on it sounds amazing in your ears

  • @alisaljic
    @alisaljic 18 днів тому

    Since you say they are not quiet enough, do you think they could be loud enough to be used for some low volume band rehearsal or maybe a gig if closely miked?

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  18 днів тому +1

      I have used them at a gig at a bar two times and they were definitely loud enough for the job. They are also amazing for practice cuz everyone doesn’t have to turn their stuff up super loud to hear over the cymbals.

  • @user-fn9uc3lc1r
    @user-fn9uc3lc1r 8 днів тому +1

    Could you use these with classic drum heads

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  8 днів тому

      Yeah I played a small gig in a relatively small bar and they were loud enough for the gig but we didn’t have to crank up our speakers to battle the drums. We were playing really soft music too. It was also better for us in band practice cuz it wasn’t so crazy loud

      Hey man thank you! I watch a lot of drummers on this channel so they run off on me… I also write drums for my own music on guitar so that helps a lot too. Yeah I’m not endorsed or anything like that I just saw there were no videos up on these cymbals when I was shopping for them and thought I might as well throw some up for the people in my same situation

      @@ArturoReacts I have a set of L80s that I do like, I'd prefer larger sizes but they do sound good and are pretty quiet. I have the 13" hi hats, 14" and 18".

    Man I play in a gospel group and we play in a lot of small churches and a lot of churches aren’t built with acoustics in mind!! Lol
    A lot of times my wife says my cymbals are too loud for the building. Are these loud enough to be used with a live group? Not outside or anything just in an environment where the crashes are just too much? The crashes are really what I’m after cause I tend to hit my crashes hard sometimes.

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  Рік тому +2

      So I’ve used these in a band practice and recently at a small bar and they worked out great. They didn’t really over power the rest of the music and no one could even tell they were modified cymbals cuz they sounded like crashes and hi hats. The ride did a good job too but I barely used it. The China probably wouldn’t work cuz that thing is ultra quiet and doesn’t really sound like a real China at all. It sounds like hitting a tiny trash can lid with holes in it… my least favorite of all the cymbals but the hi hats and crashes work great. They have lower volume but still can be used at gigs and personally I think they would be perfect for a church setting.

    • @shanecollier1429
      @shanecollier1429 Рік тому +1

      @@ArturoReacts thanks for replying back bud! I really appreciate it. We are in churches a lot but we tend to get down pretty good with our music. We’re not much of old school hymnals. Lol. Low ceilings in a lot of places make the crashes just over power even with a shield in front of me. Plus being a little heavy handed on the crashes on up tempo songs doesn’t help. These sound like they’d be perfect. I use Sabian AAX fast crashes to try to eliminate some of the ringing. With watching your review the 18” crash might be exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks again man and keep up the great informative videos.
      Play em like you stole em!!!!!

    But how do they sound? …😜

    • @ArturoReacts
      @ArturoReacts  5 місяців тому +2

      They actually sound pretty good honestly. Which is kind of a drawback cuz I would want them quieter but they still sound like cymbals and have character like usual cymbals do. They are “quieter” but still pretty loud 😅 not as quiet as the zildjian l80s

    • @dannyalvarezdrums
      @dannyalvarezdrums 5 місяців тому

      That’s cool, I want to try them. I want to replace my electronic cymbals on an old Alesis nitro kit that the cymbal samples sound terrible. I’ll be using a speaker for the snare, toms and kick .I want them loud but not loud as a full cymbal, I’m curious how that’s gonna sound and feel. Very informative man I appreciate your video 🤘🏽
