I'd go after the judge and and the jail as well, its total BS when they SHOULD have seen the indications of what should have been a medical emergency. But you know, we are just things, objects to have cops arrest use and go up the latter for more money. And ahem...... more respect.
Edit: forgot to add that there should have even LESS reason to grab hold, put on handcuffs and place him on the ground when scurlock was JUST looking for any of his stuff. HE DID NOT EVEN GRAB HIS BIKE TO LEAVE THAT ALSO HAD SOME OF HIS STUFF. No reason at all in thinking he would have ran.

@@tooslow4065 sounds like you didn't watch the video. he didn't have warrants. didn't see the car that hit him so it looked like a plainclothes cop to me. cop was still prejudiced against him for not using nice words after being hit by a car. cop made a mistake being a dick after not interviewing him and detaining him without probable cause of a crime. looks like we both missed something so maybe you could try again to be less rude, but i guess i should expect no less from someone defending the cop that killed the victim because you think checking for warrants every time and lying about them is a ok. oh and they don't check every time btw. i remember the cop that tried to arrest me on my own property because he didn't believe i could afford it. he didn't check for warrants and failed to find my pistol after patting me down even though i told him and gave him my ccw card when he searched me and put me in his patrol car then threatened to throw my then gf in jail because he knew he screwed up. if anyone is interested, it was the Lago Vista police department in TX and they brought out 5 patrol cars just to try to illegally intimidate a landowner to try to keep me out of town. no charges were ever filed though because they screwed up so bad.

Many years ago I was on a bicycle and was hit by a car that ran a red light. The driver was a teenager with his learners permit, and the car was full of teenagers. Many laws were broken. Cop cited me for reckless driving on a bicycle, and I was eventually sentenced to restitution. That's right. I had to fix the car that hit me. There were witnesses telling the cop what happened, and he threatened to charge them with loitering if they didn't leave, making sure I didn't get any names or numbers. I was poor, and the kid's dad wasn't. That's all that mattered.

Even if it takes the victim years or even decades to die from their injuries prosecutors still charge that person with murder in other cases. So uh, I'm guessing they made no hollow excuses about how this was just totally different right?
I'm mean there's no way they would charge this cop with some minor crime that doesn't fit, right?

@@edwardscott3262 He has been charged, but I forget exactly what the charges are. I think abuse of an elderly person was the worst charge. A lot was left out of this video. A retired cop was hired as a private investigator to look into this cop. He found that internal investigations went out of their way to cover for him, by not interviewing anyone but the officer who used the force, then just going along with his story. The officer said he just tripped his leg to bring him down. There was a witness that said he saw the man being flipped upside down so his head hit first. On top of that, the P.I. called out the guy working at the jail, along with the officer, for not getting him treatment despite his obvious injuries. Supposedly, he refused treatment on the scene, but if you're in custody they have an obligation to treat you whether you want it or not. What a mess. The coroner wrote he died from Parkinson's, despite him never being right and passing away shortly after the brain bleed diagnosis. All bc of an unlawful detention.

From then on, all his symptoms looked like those of a drunk person. How often do we see other LEOs and medical personnel blindly taking what a lying cop has said as the truth and consequently mistreating someone? Like the man who got the $20 million judgement for being paralyzed from the neck down and no one believing him because of what the cop told them? There are lots of instances where this happens.
