- This is a quick tone test to see how my guitar/amp combo tone compares to the classic "Dookie Sound".
This isn't anything fancy. I simply took the master audio tracks of the vocals, drums, and bass and threw them in pro tools. Then I played the guitar parts myself. Just a simple left/right double track. I did it in one take so the double tracking suffers in the beginning, but you'll have to forgive me.
Equipment Used:
1981/82 Fernandes Stratocaster (The Revival Series) - same guitar BJA plays
Humbucker - 1980 Bill Lawrence L500XL (was just called the L500 back then)
Amp: 1978 Marshall JMP-50 MkII w/added gain stage and master volume
Cab: 1993 Marshall 1960AV 4x12 (Vintage 30's)
DAW: Pro Tools 12.5
Mic's used: Shure SM57 and vintage Sennheiser MD421
Green Day has been my favorite band for over 25 years. Doing stuff like this is fun for me. Thanks for watching!
