Fender Vintera II Stratocaster 60's Pickup Sample Demo (with a bonus) New Guitar Day!!!
Purchased a fantastic Vintera II 60's Stratocaster yesterday!!! I've wanted a proper Strat for a long, long time (S-S-S instead of H-S-S). I decided to record some samples of the pickups at each switch position. Hopefully those who are considering this guitar will find this useful. The playing is straight forward and simple but there aren't too many videos out there of simple playing on this guitar (plus I'm not a great player, lol!) My Esquire (basically a Tele without a neck pickup) makes a guest appearance for comparison. Please ask any questions if you have any. Thanks for watching!
Equipment used:
2023 Fender Vintera II 60's Stratocaster (Olympic White w/Rosewood)

Cabinet mics: Sennheiser MD 421, Shure SM57

Green Day Pickup Shootout: Seymour Duncan SH-4 vs Bill Lawrence L-500XL

This is a follow-up to an older video I did a couple of years ago comparing the two pickups that Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has used in his famous "Blue" Fernandes Stratocaster over the years. These are both fantastic performers with many similarities but each definitely has its own character and voice. Please leave a comment on which you prefer and why. This time around I'm recording th...
Green Day guitar tone test - Basket Case guitar cover
Переглядів 3,4 тис.3 роки тому
This is a quick tone test to see how my guitar/amp combo tone compares to the classic "Dookie Sound". This isn't anything fancy. I simply took the master audio tracks of the vocals, drums, and bass and threw them in pro tools. Then I played the guitar parts myself. Just a simple left/right double track. I did it in one take so the double tracking suffers in the beginning, but you'll have to for...

Just a quick unsealing and first look of an original, 1990 pressing of Green Day’s first LP, “39 Smooth”. I’ve had this for a bit and have been reluctant to open it (for some unknown reason). I finally figured that what’s the point of owning the record if I’m not going to open it up and play it? So glad I did. I know nearly no one will care to see this video, but this is for me, and for the oth...

Great demos man thanks for sharing, it was cool hearing the difference between the SDJB and the BLX500. I recently picked up a super lead myself, not modded, it is definitely a fun amp. I also own a jcm 800 which I find if I boost with an SD1, I can get that green day tone
Hey, did you have a facebook or instagram I could reach out to you on? I am a fan of your old bands Devvin and Azfixiation
Hey! You can find me on instagram @esbfett
@@devvin Just sent you a message, thanks!
Slow and very boring
Are you writing your bio or something?
Sounds pleasing to the ears.
Did you say 5,000 dollars for a cable?
Just a joke. Cablemod cables are a bit pricey.
What is the worn sticker on the forearm contour?
Underrated record for sure. Still trying to find myself a copy on vinyl.
Are the Bill Lawrence and the SH4 the same size?
They are both full size humbuckers if that’s what you mean.
What is the 2 stickers behind the geek girl sticker?
Congrats! - its almost a copy of the first guitar used by Jimi Hendrix when he went to England to dazzle the crowds.
How are you able to make this sound? I'm trying to figure out for my mando armor
I put 0.5” jingle bells in each of the shin tool pouches. You can pick them up at any craft store. I grabbed these from Michael’s Arts and Crafts.
Mate, where’s this EVO XL build? 👍
Hey! It’s already built. Fantastic pc. I didn’t document the process though so there’s no video. Sorry.
Can we see the finished product? Maybe a vid explaining the process?
Learn something new every day... I counted 12 pins on the new ATX 3.0 PCI-e 5 connector, but there are actually 4 more pins at the top of the plug. I have the pleasure of building a system with a Asus TUF 4090 OC for a customer and will be my first time working with this new connector. It was pretty confusing seeing what I thought was a 12 pin connector and keep seeing a 16 pin connector on some listings, yet a 12 + 4 pin connector on other listings!
No HDD/SSD led? 🤔🤔🤔
I've received mine from France, as fast. EK is made in Slovenia if I remember well, Germany, Italy and FR are transits. BTW, I don't want to be rude, but those unboxing clips are "has-been" and useless. We already know what's in the box, even when ordering online. I'm still looking for a tutorial about how to install it with details, but it seems that no youtuber is actually an experienced individual for that matter, everyone on YT wants to show-off how they're good at opening a box and taking out some stuff from it! What, next time it'll be how to grab the box and set it on a table top before unboxing it? Jesus this is frustrating lol. sorry...
Sorry to disappoint. 🤷♂️
@@devvin Bah it's _my_ problem: you just followed a trend it's not all on you really... I was looking for how to prepare the case and the water-cooling elements, like should I clean them 1st with distilled water or whatnot (same for the radiator), where to be careful, installing/adjusting the frame etc. Maybe I'll do a clip along the manual I just found online explaining how to install it along figures, if it's not too complicated to set my mobile's camera without too many interventions (I wouldn't want this to take too long to build).. Thanks anyways.
Great video, glad I found it. I can hear that the 500XL pleasingly sounds more focused, and less bosomy, whereas the SD may need to have the low midrange attenuated at the amp.
Still working?
Like a charm.
Thank you for the unboxing video. My case arrived, but it is missing the accessory box! Amazon is sending me a replacement! When mine arrived, it seemed like it had loose parts. I'm curious if I got sent a used sold a new product.
This record is better than Anything they did after the 90s. Maybe not Warning. I'll defend the song Rest to the death.
I’ll be doing this in about a week when mine arrives 🎉
im using 7800xt, do i have to use cable with 600w on it or 1 or 2 cable with vga written on it ? (without the 600w) pls help im trying to build my pc with this
You only use the cable with the 600W on it if your GPU has that plug type. I don't use it since my RTX 3090 uses 3 of the regular vga marked ones.
@@devvin mine has it but it need to cable going into the gpu, while 600w only have 1 cable, im not sure if its okay or not to mix cable (600w 1 and the normal vga cable 1) one more thing, is it correct to put 2 vga cables from psu to gpu ? or do u only need 1 to plug in from psu and 1 from othe source ?
В России не продаётся Лидер 7 на 1300 Ватт, только на 1000 Ватт.
Hey Nice video! Why did u delete the Welcome to paradise (only guitar) video?
Thanks! I didn't delete it. UA-cam removed it for copyright violation along with a few other cover videos I made.
Have you considered going to top left input and patching low left to top right?
The amp is modded so the top left is my added gain stage input and the bottom left is untouched. The two right inputs are inactive.
Can u update the video ? I’m wondering how to install, how it works and of course how it looks !
Mine looks like crap. Distro plate does not match front panel opening and there is no way to secure right side of distro to the case. Distro is too wide for the opening. For $450 I expected a much better job of engineering and fitment. Very disappointed in my purchase. EKWB support doesn't answer inquiries on their website or direct emails.
hey bro, just discovered this myself, did you find a way to secure it on the right side? @@agordon20024
Hey, did you get the P420M radiator working on the side with fans inside the case? If so, how exactly did you do it and which fittings did you use for it? I can't seem to figure it out.
I did! I had to dremel out about 4-5mm from a lip at the bottom of the side opening to get the radiator to line up with the EK distro plate for this case. Then I used some nylon spacers I got on amazon to get its position right. It was actually really easy once I figured out the measurements. You can hit me up on IG (@esbfett) and I'd be happy to share photos of it and give links and specifics to the spacers.
@@devvinThanks. Alas, I don't have IG. I think I did message you on reddit, though, not sure if you've seen it. Hm, nylon spacers, interesting. I wonder if something like metal M4 PCB standoffs of the right length (I'd estimate 20 or 21mm, perhaps?) would work as well. As for fittings, I'd assume with the standoffs I'd need two "EK-Quantum Torque Extender Static MF 14" in addition to one "EK-Quantum Torque Rotary 90°" and one "EK-Quantum Torque Double Rotary Offset 28" plus four appropriate fittings, depending wether I go with a soft- (EK-Quantum Torque STC) or hard- (EK-Quantum Torque HDC) tube connection pieces, correct? Thanks again!
@@devvini am in the middle of prepping mine just like yours. EK say its not possible but the math and a mixture of videos ive seen say otherwise. Ive sent you a DM on instagram for a little extra info if you can. Going to document mine so we can let people know its possible and how to do it.
I ordered one for a i9 13900k build. I talked to a computer guy, and he told me I made a mistake buying a generic PSU.
Generic? Lol. I'd find another computer guy.
LMAO
What an idiot. Super Flower has been top of line since I can remember. Which is when they built EVGA's best psu's. We are talking 2014-2015 maybe earlier. Your average joe never heard of them but anyone that has been in the game for 10+ years certainly has.
Really enjoy watching your videos. I’ve rewatched them countless times. Great gear and great playing, also, very informative.
Great video, upload more please. Also, miss the old videos.
CAN U SHOW SHOW HOW TO INSTALL IN CPU CASE TY LIL BRO AND CONNECTORS TO MOTHERSHIP I MEAN MOTHERBOARD. S0RRY MY CAPS BUTTON AINT CAPPING RN.
Can you show how the push in plugs are used on this distro? Are they even needed?
Ek has a video on it. The top and bottom radiator are designed for it because the tolerances are so tight, the 420 rads are literally millimeters away from it.
Nice overview of the PSU. Got a 1000 watt on the way to replace my seasonic focus gx 750 watt (non atx 3.0 ver), my 7900 XT has been tripping OCP on, looking forward to this psu.
Could you paste links to the audio files uncompressed by UA-cam? (like w google drive or sm)
Wow, Your Blue replica is incredible, I assume it's a RST80-54? Where Did you get the stickers?
I recreated most of them in photoshop.
Does the x420M Radiator at the bottom fit? How did you do it?
I have this exact copy as well. So glad I bought it many years ago. For those who care, in the deadwax on side one it says, "Lookout 22-A, Bill, Mike, John : Loyal Filth Groupies, We ❤Jake" On side two's deadwax it says, "Lookout 22-B, Call back tomorrow, it's a school night." Along with the record's etched serial numbers. Metallica did something similar to their remastered LP of "Kill 'Em All". In the deadwax it says "Metal Up Your Ass!".
Please update her soon. There is no videos about this block at all.
I talked with ek about mounting the distro plate in the fan spot beside the motherboard instead of in the front glass because I prefer how it looks. But apparently it’s not made to mount there so I would have to make my own mount. Anyone have any ideas how I would go about doing that?
For that configuration, I would go with their Mana G2 distro plate.
@@devvin Where is the finished build?
Its not made to fit in the front panel opening either. Plate is too wide and can only be secured on one side leaving the right side to be supported by rigid tubing.
Mate, that is a nice looking distro! I Will be getting this case soon, can’t wait. You mention showing us this build once complete? Tell me your going to do a build vlog walking us through your build as you do it? We’d love to watch this thing get out together, Please!! 🙏🏾
Hi, I’m in the same boat as you my friend, been waiting for this case so long! Subscribed for the upcoming build vids! That is the plan I hope?
What happened to the Der8aur logo disappeared?
It comes with one but you have to put it on yourself. If it came preinstalled then it might end up sideways or upside down with how many different ways you can configure this case. So this way you can ensure it's displayed upright.
Nice its true on super flower not much stuff is out there
Hi ! I'm waiting for this to be released in ZA and I will be getting one. Hardware Busters did review it and it's one of the best v3.0s available right now ! Great presentation video ! Did you connect your GPU to the PSUs top CPU / PCIe port row or the bottom ? Thanks !
It's almost here. I pre-ordered on wootware.
Nice vid. Looking forward to mine arriving soon. Been using superflower for many years without issue. Sad that many people trash them due to not knowing their OEM history
Exactly. People don't realize that they already have Super Flower PSU in there EVGA G2, P2, T2 units. Super Flower is a tier 1 psu maker.
It is is a shame, but super flower isn't doing itself in any favors having such a stupid name. Super flower just sounds like a cheap made in china product. I'm always amazed manufacturers who build quality products can't seem to figure out marketing 101.
Some of those Super Flower psu's have the "universal" 9-pin sockets on the psu. Have you ever used one of those models and what do you think of it?
I haven’t seen one of those before. The EVGA G2 psu in my office pc was made by Super Flower.
Just did this with the cassette version
Watched this again and holy shit dude, i think you have have an amp modded similary to the SE Lead Mod that Billie used on Insomniac. Tone is spot on
