As a parent myself, its simple to debunk. Children don't often have concepts for the long term. Because of that, they highly value the now. To the "protect trans kids" lady: there is evidence supporting the fact that ~93% of gender dysphoria cases in children and adolescents goes away as they go through puberty. Isn't it better to assume that your child is part of that 93% and not reinforce the confusion, rather than follow through with the inappropriate hormones, confusion, and surgeries? Those are much more destructive than having fewer "positive mental health outcomes".
I can attest to that personally. I have an aunt who went through a phase as a child where she wanted to be called Steve, would only wear boys' clothes, etc. She eventually grew out of it and eventually realized she was a lesbian. If she was growing up today, these psycho trans activists would've wanted her on life changing hormonal treatments.

Strawman argument. Gender and species are not analgous.
In the past, you had two names (your given name and surname). By default, you were referred to by your surname but as a sign of intimcacy, you could allow people to call you by your given name. There has never been a society in which it was normal for you to give yourself your own name and demand that other people call you that. The only place that this happened was in religious groups. Popes, monks, and kings take on new names to indicate an elevated role or a new religious identity. This is another of those irreversible changes that lock people into the cult.
