Cheesecake Factory _does_ have a *massive* and diverse menu for a chain restaurant. It's genuinely impressive.
It's mainly because their menu has an unusually low number of ingredients needed for how large their menu is.
That menu is the Lord Of The Rings of restaurant menus.
@@ZontarDow Or its largely frozen/pre-prepped.
Most restaurants create more diversity in the menu simply by utilizing the same seasonings and ingredients, but mixing them up a bit for different menu items. I remember when my aunt worked as a cook at Claim Jumpers and she described how the tried cutting costs by eliminating any recipes that had ingredients used in very few recipes.
To be fair, it _is_ the *cheesecake* factory. They probably have a menu that is mostly cheesecake, for which it’s mostly some variations on one recipe
Dev, the point of the woman gawking at the Cheesecake Factory menu is that the sheer volume of items available makes her wonder what sort of kitchen setup they have that allows them to accommodate such variety.
@@blakecasimir It was obvious to me, just one of those things dev missed which went over his head, happens to everyone. But seems like Dev might not go to many restaurants, because the variety on that menu is mind-blowing.
Nah in defense of the Cheesecake factory lady, the menu for Cheesecake factory is comically long. Even more impressive is basically nothing is pre-made. Cheesecake factory is genuinely a marvel of modern human economics so I completely understand her shock lmao.
They make the money selling mostly just their cakes for events, which are premade.
Yea, I might not visit enough restaurants, or not have seen enough for a different variety.
But that list was like 3 - 5 times longer than any place i've ever been to O.o (Netherlands)
@AB0BA_69 I never said pre-made was bad. I was saying that because they pre make their cakes they save money and since they make the majority of the money from their cakes, they have expendable income to expand the main kitchen.
I've never been to a cheesecake factory as we only got one last year, but I keep hearing memes about the menu being massive.
Yeh, I've worked in the kitchen at several restaurants and the Cheesecake Factory's menu is, frankly, insane

6:00 bad take dev, cheesecake factory menu is comically large compared to almost any resturant anywhere.
As someone who worked somewhere with a 2 page menu, that shit can still get chaotic. Cannot imagine having to be familiar with their massive book of a menu.
You know there's like a red sauce, a white sauce, and a brown sauce. pour it on different proteins and call it different things. You can get like 50 menu items just from that.
You’ve obviously never seen the menu at Marietta Diner. Look it up. We go every time we visit family in Georgia. Not only is the menu massive, everything is amazingly good. From their Greek dishes to their down home southern ones. Pretty much perfection. That chef has talent.
Edit: It’s a Steakhouse (not just in dishes but also quality), Italian restaurant, Greek restaurant, and American restaurant all rolled into one. Breakfast is also available 24/7. That’s it’s hours of operation.

7:20 the baby was like "aayy I'm tryna sleep here 🤜🤜🦵🦵🤜🤜"
The cheesecake factory lady is actually onto something. It's an astonishingly large menu for a restaurant to stock, and smaller establishments who attempt those menu sizes fail constantly because the sheer variety of food items you need to store and be ready to prepare usually results in lower quality and increases waste.
I've been told they get away with it by serving a lot of premade stuff that may be kinda old.
@@darwinxavier3516That's not true, use to work there everything is mostly made fresh. IT'S INSANE THE WORK VOLUME though

@@rworded Oh I'm saying that since there are so many choices that it is unlikely for several people to order the same thing and thus cook a larger batch to save time.
As a guy who has worked for multiple restaurants, the cheesecake factory has a ludicrously large menu. I am similarly baffled at how their kitchens must be run.
"Oh my god look at what we have to do to please men"

5:55 If you've ever watched Kitchen Nightmares you'd know that if a restaurant has a HUGE menu chances are most of it isn't fresh.
Lol dude I was just thinking about that. The lesson always stuck with me, big menus make me skeptical and small ones hopeful.
@@whitekony1006 Only exception really is a lot of Asian places, where they make the same dish but with a different meat and it makes one menu item into 5-10

@@ellis7622 how do you not?
The point of the video in the cheesecake factory is the amount of items in the menu: it isn't normal for restaurants. Basically it's all frozen, prepackaged slob.
TBF The Cheesecake Factory's Menu is kind of insane. Normally restaurants tend to have more contained/compressed(?) menus to not overwhelm themselves and the customer base. Having a few things you do excellent instead of having 40+ you do kind of meh. Not to mention having certain things you can realistically juggle or make several of the exact same dish. What CF does is abnormal and amazing that they can do it at all. Restaurants having massive menus like that tend to be a red flag that it's failing.
6:43 nah dev, pretty sure she wants to know how big is the walk in freezer that they have to accommodate a menu that large. I kinda get it. I used to work at a sports bar with a menu a third the size and had 4 different walk-ins.
No, the chick has a point about the menu at a cheesecake factory.

The chick at the Cheesecake Factory actually makes a good point, a small menu has incredible benefits. Gordon Ramsay on his intervention shows (they aren't actually fake, nor are most of the worst interactions staged, I was really surprised when I found that out, reality shows filmed in the U.S. being what they are and all) repeatedly recommends restaurants to have smaller menu's for a multitude of reasons. Required stock (expiration dates, sorting, etcetera) and proficiency at individual dishes of the kitchen staff are two important reasons he comes back to every few episodes. Also, a little anecdote of my own, I've seen so many people not being able to make a choice on menu's a fourth this size and then deciding to go for a hamburger, fries and a cola, this happened so many times in actually decent restaurants with all kinds of special dishes. After they've perused the chart for a solid twenty minutes, they go for the most basic thing they could've gotten next door at the local snackhouse, albeit less fancy than the burger they get in the good restaurant, ofcourse. That's just from just being a customer myself and being in conversation with friends/family, only seeing three or four other tables behind them, it really is that bad to have a big menu. A small menu is a good thing, just make sure it has variety in common tastes and dietary limitations...
There's alot of evidence that more choice does not in fact guarantee more happiness, just look up the social experiment of the free music festival shirts. At one time they gave one specific type of shirt away, at the other they gave a choice of two different ones. They interviewed participants of both experiments after a week, the people that got the one specific shirt reported general happiness at the free goodie, the other experiment's participants often reported that they wished they could've gotten the other choice of shirt...

Corporate restaurants and especially Cheesecake Factory have comically huge menus where everything generally kinda sucks, the massive menu being a huge contributor to it
Alright, I'll play devils advocate: I've known people who have never lived alone, moved directly in with their spouse from their parents house. She's proven to herself that if any theoretical future marriage goes sideways, she can move out and make it on her own. She'll never feel trapped in a marriage if she knows she can leave at any time. If she's bragging, that's dumb: her ability to do any of this was granted to her by men and women who built the legal and social infrastructure long before she was born. But if she's just being grateful out loud, great!
But she's probably just gloating like an idiot about doing what the vast majority of adults already do. And by sheer probability, NO female ancestors ever having supported themselves is a laughable statement.

You entirely missed the cheesecake factory girl's point. With restaurants you dont want menu bloat because it makes food hard to prep for, and it will take longer to complete with more points of failure. Theres a reason michelin star restaurants will have a menu of like 8 items at any one time. There's a big chain in the US called BJ's (I know, shut up) that has a phone book of a menu and I've never had my food not come out cold or burnt.
