I was so keyed into the video that when I heard the famous “until you put it to the test” phrase my heart skipped a beat and I was overjoyed for the results... then he said not until the next video and I literally shouted “Damn it!” 🤣🤣🤣

it also cured my daughter of infantile epilepsy - a 3 day fast followed by a medical grade Keto diet (NOT the goofy one in vogue today) for 2 years.
Same thing with my son. Keto Diet was the only thing that helped him after trying many drugs.
That’s wild I’ve suffered from life threatening neuropathy for years. A three day fast and Keto helps as much as some of the poisonous meds they give me. Wish it would fix it but at least it helps.

You can observe this in nature as well. When animals are sick or injured, they stop eating. And the world's oldest religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism, use fasting as part of the healing meditative process. Monks and yogis would never attempt to meditate on a full stomach
I’m doing it 2-3 times per year to „clean the system“.
Works wonders everytime, did it last week only for 4 days instead of the usual 6-7 days but still was enough to feel re-energized again
Highly recommend it but DEFINITELY do your research on it first

I could give u a whole tutorial on this but I don’t want to be responsible if sth goes wrong because u followed some instructions from a random guy on youtube. I hope u understand it, just look up „therapeutic fasting / fasting cure“. If u have any medical conditions u should definitely consult your doctor first

Thanks guys yeah Dr.gregor was the first person to tell me about water fasting about 1-2 years ago. It’s hard to get motivated to do it. But once the first 2-3 days pass you feel intense energy. Because of ketogenic effect
@xsugafreex do you train (weight lifting) during this time or just walking? What about high intensity cardio?
Ananaspomidorka yes I did go to gym about 3 times couldn’t do high intensity because my muscles got tired too quick. But I did feel as though I could push much more if I wanted to

I am doing 16-8 or sometimes 18-6 daily fasting except on the weekends as I was told you don’t want your body to think you are in a starvation mode that ultimately lower your metabolism. I have not seen any bad side effects after practicing about a month

Thank you. I have read superficially the book by Valter Longo (whose research is among those you displayed in this video), on his proposed research-based fasting diet, but I wasn't quite motivated to look at it deeply. Now I might as well give it a better read.
40 hours monthly rest and reset. Weekly 24 hours and daily 16-18. I have inherited fat storage genes and this model which I evolved sensitively over years and still continue to adjust, not only keeps my weight optimal but permits me deep rest on all levels. Preventative medicine. Ir makes sense that if we have a biological history of fasting events in our species, we would do well to activate it from time to time.

I love these videos, best nutrition information ever! Here's a topic that I'd like to see a video on. Does taking iron supplements and iron fortified foods contribute to colon cancer? The problem is that most of the iron isn't absorbed, it passes into the large intestine and iron is known to contribute to cancer. I donate platelets frequently and must take iron supplements. I enjoyed the videos about blood donation reducing cancer risk, but I wonder about the potential dangers of iron supplements.
In the previous series on fasting, (Fundamentally in regards weight loss.) The good doctor mentions that one loses more lean tissue than fat, that there are potentially lethal dangers after even modest length fasts when re-feeding, etc. One could hope he will address these previous observations and his implicit dissuasions in the subsequent videos.
Yeah, but this discussion is about healing diseases by fasting and not fasting to lose weight.
@@dothedeed I consider his mentioned potential for death when re-feeding, as an issue for overall health.

Fasting might help over-weight hypertensive folk deal better with Covid, since I heard fasting is great at lowering blood pressure..
We Muslims fast from dawn until sunset for one month each year and six days in the following month, then we fast on Monday and Thursday every week.
Polar bears can go for 8 months without food, while swimming across long distances in the Arctic Ocean!
On the other hand, lagomorphs cannot go for 8 hours without eating. To do so may cause life threatening g.i. stasis. Not surprising for an animal that evolved eating mostly grass.
I hate it when you leave me hanging, Doc, but I've been listening to some of Dr Goldhammer's interviews and his results sure sound intriguing
Love fasting and strongly recommend it. I do a 72 hour fast each week and have been since my 20s. I quit for a long while when I met my husband, he had such a problem with it. After he passed I went back to it and will never give it up again, not for anyone. It makes me happy.

For some reason when I get acutely ill, my appetite increases.
1st off this is a huge generalization. For example when it came to TB infections the world's leading infectious disease doctor, Paul Farmer, found that fighting MRSA TB was proving ineffective because the locals were so poor they traded the medication for money and food and that when they were properly fed treatment was more effective. It really depends on the condition. Also depends on the type of food for each condition. For example Bowel Disease usually need liquid only diets when inflamed. Some cancers need to be starved of every kind of sugar and sometimes protein. All depends on the condition.

so as a vegan I need to supplemet B12, also Omega 3, D3, Iodine, Creatine, Calcium because I dont eat 2 pounds of greens, Selenium. And what about Choline and Vitamin A if I can't convet beta caroteine AND K2? ?? some zinc too?

You don't need all those supplements as a vegan. It all depends on your Individual circumstances.
Only 1 of those has specifically to do with veganism and that's B12. Loads of people, veg and omni, are short of D3, selenium etc.
@@Lucysmom26 and duck weed is a plant based source of b12. Not to mention b12 supplementation is recommended for for ppl over a certain age regardless of diet.
@@selkissun6270 well as a omnivore I could eat some sardines, that contain Omega 3, some Iodine and D3, creatine and a lot of selenium and protein (yes ik), not to mention B12. no supplement needed. I found some studies on vegans supplementing creatine and their cognitive function got better.
@@selkissun6270 No one eats duckweed and it's not even sure if it contains B12 outside of Parabel's hydrotanks. In the end it's just another plastic bottle of powder for vegans to buy, $25 last time I checked

From the previous series, we should all be aware that fasting is clearly not benefitial for weight loss.
In the previous series he references a lot of studies that mimic starvation more than fasting (restricting people to 500 calories a day or similar); I'm hoping he focuses this time on research on actual fasting, i.e. NO calorie intake during the fasting period.

Just my opinion: I prefer your previous style of video which focused on the evidence, where the sources were full screen and you did a voice-over. It’s harder for me to follow along when the text is so much smaller. Feels more like a performance this way, rather than a presentation of the evidence.

I use to fast a lot. Does help. I recommend pink himalayan sea salt when water fasting or something where your getting minerals from. Made a huge difference in how i felt vz straight water.

Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment.
The population will consume all the land regardless of its size. No place to hide and no place too far away. Perhaps more reserved land is needed. Just a thought.

Spoiler alert:
Conclusions: Fasting can safely and successfully be implemented in an inpatient integrative medicine concept and is perceived as a health-promoting method by the majority of patients. Potential effects on disease-related complaints and lifestyle adherence should be further evaluated in randomized trials.

I wonder if astronauts will need to be in a fasted state for long space travels, to protect them from radiation. Until we figure out a technical solution.
