a good quality whiskey is nice to have to sip on occasionally. personally I am a fan of single barrel select, generally it is a slightly higher proof and still smooth
I have listened to other reaction UA-cam channels and nothing compares to Polo. He’s authentic, open-minded, soulful, humble, and just adorable. He talks just enough but not too much. There is something reassuring about getting older and seeing a young man being moved by the music that inspired us as kids back in the 70s. Thank you, Polo!
I'm still partial to the old MSG version from Song Remains the Same. I consider this song Jimmy's masterpiece. Although they cut him out here, John Paul's orchestral arrangements create beautiful passages that evoke complex emotions appropriate for the mystical lyrics. Some of the chord changes have an almost magical ability to really hit you right in the heart when you listen just right. Even the tuning Page plays it in is out of this world.
I had wondered whether they went outside of the core group to get the orchestral arrangement. So often, a "rock" band will want strings in a song, or horns, or woodwinds and not have the musical capability to write all the parts. Arrangement is art. And I should have known. Thank you, John Paul Jones.
I’d love for you to react to Robert Plant and Allison Kraus. They’ve been performing together for years and are back on tour. (Their album Raising Sand won the Grammy for album of the year in 2009).
The Rain Song is one of the greatest songs ever written. In my opinion. It's amazing that Robert and Jimmy did this live so many years later in their careers. Roberts voice obviously can't hit the notes he once was able to do but still sounds great with a little compensating and Jimmy sounds as good as he ever has. Having the orchestra behind them really makes this a fantastic video.
My favorite song ever and this dvd is awesome!! Saw Page and Plant in 95-96 awesome!! This one especially, love them being older, live he way Jimmy drops the pick at the end of this beautiful song! GOD! What talent!❤️❤️❤️❤️RIP John Bonham!
Beautiful music to listen to. All the strings blending into a symphony of melodic mellowness. Then comes the surprise …..orchestral rock and roll. Live is superb; loving the little nuances.
I saw Page/Plant in both 1995 and 1998....and don't get me wrong - I love Jason Bonham and his O2 performance was immaculate.....but Michael Lee was the closest Page/Plant/Jones ever came to the Zep sound post-Bonham.
I agree, I enjoy the Tribal reactions to music, food etc. I love Led Zeppelin and this song is at the top of the list along with Kashmir, Since I've Been Loving You, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and so many many more! Thank you Polo!
I’m a 65yo man that enjoys you being around to listen to great tunes with me. I wait till evening to check you out so I can have a drink and watch and listen. Cheers!
Thank you this is my favorite performance of Rain Song. Robert Plant recently ended his set list with this beautiful song. I’m seeing him in concert for the 5th time this August in Washington State. He still sings amazing! And Jimmy Page! I haven’t seen him in concert but I watch every video of Led Zeppelin to truly appreciate the genius guitarist that he is!
Of course, fizzy drinks such as Fanta or Pepsi are ok occasionally, but plain ol' water is more refreshing and a decent Pinot Noir tastes better. 😅 BTW, as someone who has enjoyed a full and varied life for the past 73 yrs, no amount of money could encourage me to start over in 2024.
Glad you chose the Page Plant Unledded version of the Rain Song. You should check out the version of Kashmir from this session with the Egyptian orchestra added. That really comes together ;)
I feel bad for the people that died before this music existed. I feel guilty for being alive and knowing this music, when so many people have come and gone without knowing it. And to think there are some people alive today that don't even know it's here. That's a crime. Great video as always!
On drinking, as with anything in life, it is always wise to check yourself to watch for negatives, and simply not let it control your actions or subvert your will. Use it as a treat, as an ease, even as a crutch, but never as an answer, and you'll be fine. The simple answer is always: Know thyself. Much love, brother.
Robert Plant is coming to my hometown in June (with Allison Krauss) and the tickets are $490 a piece. ( Its a smaller venue, amphitheater at our local Zoo) And, if I could afford it I would pay it IN A HEARTBEAT. He's in his 70's (I'm 59) still doing his thing...HAVE ALWAYS LOVED Led Zepplin since my babysitters (in the early 70s) introduced me. Thank you for this reaction...
Thank you for playing this song, it gives me chills and always chokes me up my husband said this is is his song to me. ❤ so much feeling to the lyrics.
Try 5htp, You can get it at the pharmacy. It will really help your anxiety. I have horrible anxiety and I did not want to do pharma, this was recommended to me. I started at the lowest ,then went up one increment. SO good. No anxiety and a mood elevator. Good luck with this, and I love your channel.
I had never really heard this tune before until I saw Almost Famous. Since then, it has become one of my fav Zep songs. Almost Famous btw is one of my all time fav movies. Soundtrack is awesome
One of my favorite Zeppelin tunes. This live version gave me such good vibes. "Over the hills and far away" is another one of my favorites. Peace and Love
Beautiful performance! I have to say I could feel Plants instinct to stand up and sing. Great vocals but I think Plant is more comfortable singing on his feet.
I am glad you finally got to this performance. This tour was incredible, with local string symphonies accompanying the band. In this video the nod from Plant at the end signals to Page how incredible his performance is..
My dad took me to see them for my 19th birthday (1995) in Orlando with one of my best friends and his dad, who was one of my dad's best friends. I'd only started played guitar about 5 months before and wasn't really deep in the catalog yet, but that show changed my musical life. Thanks, Dad.
This is the song that will be played when I pass away 🎶♥️ This and “Great Gig in the Sky” 🫶🏻 Also, the bass player is Charlie Jones, son-in-law to Robert 🎼

Using alcohol or anything to deal with anxiety is a huge slippery slope, please be careful! One of my favorite songs!!!
That entire MTV unplugged/ unleaded special is amazing.

I feel the same, enjoying this channel
@@karenLsmith-di6snme too. Just loving Polo, his reactions, and some incredible music.

Perfectly worded. Thank you. This is my favorite Zep song. It's incredibly beautiful.
I’d love for you to react to Robert Plant and Allison Kraus. They’ve been performing together for years and are back on tour. (Their album Raising Sand won the Grammy for album of the year in 2009).
Everyone should be partial to that version
This whole concert is just beautiful. Kashmir is on another level - and yes, we want a 3rd Kashmir reaction video.
Yes we do!!!
Thank you jimmy page for making this gorgeous tune. Like an angel
Humans have the capacity and ability to make the world better.
But do they?
The Rain Song is one of the greatest songs ever written. In my opinion.

The best part is the little nod and wink Robert gives Jimmy at the end signifying “yep, you nailed it”
The gentleman to the left of Robert is his Son in Law playing the Bass.
There is nothing wrong with alcohol until there is. Drink responsibly.
or not at all:)
Or until you are happy
You just KNOW that drummer has been waiting his entire life for that! I gradutaed HS in '73, this entire album is very special to me...Keep On Polo!
It's so sad that Michael Lee died from an epileptic seizure in 2008. So much talent & promise.
Class of '74 here and Ditto!
@@chrisbanks6659so sad. Such a talented young man. Was pleased to see that Jimmy attended the funeral. Respect.
Robert and Jimmy both singing. Robert with his voice, Jimmy with his guitar 🎸
For a guitist to stay in time with a whole orchestra amazing
That poor drummer had to fill some giant shoes on this gig. Think they all did a wonderful job. Great reaction, Polo.
Great drummer. Unfortunately he died in 2008 of a sudden epileptic fit.
I think Jon Bonham would have approved.
And what a job to try to fill Bonhams shoes!!
@@jensclarberg6419so sad!

This song is a masterpiece.
What a trip to have been an orchestra member. Playing with the best, all of them.
One of the most beautiful love songs written. Also like Thank you from the Plant and Page album.
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
I love the little smile Robert gives Jimmy at the end, complimenting his guitar work.
its raining here in Spain right now & this is my favourite Zep song.... love it 😄
It rains all the time here in WA state. Lol

😂 I HAVE LOVED THIS SONG SINCE 1973. THANK YOU
Thanks for this version ❤
Led Zeppelin Gods 😊
The drummer is Micheal Lee he passed away at a young age. He was magnificent!
yeah, his performance made me crack a smile and I'm supposed to be a gangster.
He was the perfect choice to carry Bonzo's parts. An absolute powerhouse who filled some big shoes quite well. May he and Bonzo both rest in peace.
@@poloreacts27Yes! 😌 Michael was truly gifted .
@@VegasAlien1I agree 100%❤

I've seen Robert Plant sing the Rain Song twice recently with Saving Grace. Seeing him sing this at 75 gives the song new meaning, it's so beautiful.
Every thing in Moderation❤
To understand the TRUE meaning of "The Rain Song" is what makes it
even more of a beautiful ❤ tune!!
Sheer beauty, I was 22 when this first came out, what a lucky person I have been with music such as this for the back drop of my life.
This same show has a great version of Kashmir with the classical orchestra and an Egyptian orchestra adding the Middle Eastern musical scale.
I agree, I enjoy the Tribal reactions to music, food etc. I love Led Zeppelin and this song is at the top of the list along with Kashmir, Since I've Been Loving You, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and so many many more! Thank you Polo!

Page and Plant Since I’ve been loving you with the orchestra!🔥Roberts vocals and Jimmys playing = Phenomenal
Exquisite. And Jimmie looked So Fine.
Every word is known by millions of us. Including me.
Pure Geniuses

My 2nd fav Zepp song!! Love this tune...10 yrz gone

This is one of their masterpieces. This will be played at my funeral.
This song is cool calm and a stress reliever for sure! And it makes me think.
I remember seeing the tuning for this song when I picked it up on the guitar and I was like…
yea Page’s special
I feel bad for the people that died before this music existed. I feel guilty for being alive and knowing this music, when so many people have come and gone without knowing it. And to think there are some people alive today that don't even know it's here. That's a crime. Great video as always!
Bro. This is probably my favorite live performance of any song. And you found it! Thanks for the reaction and share! Virtuosos! 👊🏼🤓
Omg I LOVE this SOOOOOO much my favorite Zeppelin song ❤❤❤❤❤
You can see when Jimmy clues them off to the next part. and at the end.
The drummers like, 'finally!' (Goes nuclear on his kit).
The proper moderation to anything is the key

I've loved Zep since the 70s. This is their most beautiful song. The chords, strings, vocals....it's perfect. Just a perfectly written piece of music.
"No amount of money ever bought a second of time." ~ Howard Stark, Iron Man
The greatest band ever. This has always been my favorite song. Jimmy is purely magical.

The composition of this song nothing short of genius

That No Quarter concert was a great achievement by those boys and by all musicians involved. It’s a treasure chest. RIP Michael Lee
INDEED!
HAMMER OF THE GODS!.....and the drummer nails it......Peace!
A big part of Zep was about John bonhams drumming. Song remains the the same live movie shows all their musicianship
I had never really heard this tune before until I saw Almost Famous. Since then, it has become one of my fav Zep songs. Almost Famous btw is one of my all time fav movies. Soundtrack is awesome
The Beatles had said that they like Ledzep but they had no ballads. Well, Beatles, there you go. One of the best ballads ever written!
Just simply thank you
The alternate tuning is what makes it you can play it in standard but you can't get the same lower octive notes that give it that extra something
I love the melancholy vibe of this song. It always makes me think of grey skies and vast landscapes. So beautiful
The shoes do not get any bigger for a drummer playing with these two rock gods. He held his own.
It's like how much I enjoy watching you listening to the music I listened to as a teen and still do. Your reactions make me happy❤❤
Credit to JPJ for writing the orchestra score!
JPJ wasn't part of the Unledded project and the orchestral arrangements are by Ed Shearmur.
Great song, thank you, Polo

Went to see Robert with Saving Grace a few weeks ago . They did this one, the whole night was superb. His voice was on great form.
My dad took me to see them for my 19th birthday (1995) in Orlando with one of my best friends and his dad, who was one of my dad's best friends. I'd only started played guitar about 5 months before and wasn't really deep in the catalog yet, but that show changed my musical life. Thanks, Dad.
Thank you!!! My joy is watching Reactors discover great music…The Rain Song!

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
The version of Kashmir in this show is EPIC!!! It has a Violin solo in it....yes, a violin. I was lucky enough to see them on this tour in 95.
They never disappoint! Great review as always!

Thank you for loving Led Zeppelin! Makes me love you bigger! xo
The Rain Song is my favorite Led Zeppelin song....hands down.
