A beautiful song which we used at our wedding 3 years ago after being together 17 years. It made me cry, my husband is very unwell at the moment and has been in hospital for nearly 3 months so I guess that little bit of rain has fallen on our lives now but this brought back some memories of the happiest day of my life, the day I married my darling husband ❤️
I'm reading this 8 days after your comment. I pray things are better. When my husband and I were 48, in 2005, I lost him to a completely unexpected heart attack. Sitting in his chair reading a book, I got home from work, said hello, and a couple of sentences later, he was gone in the blink of an eye. I'm sure you are/were terrified, and I understand. Sure hope things work out. 🙏
Damn shame they didn't invite him for this. I'd be a little bitter too if I were JPJ. He would have lit this stage up. Tragedy not having him there for this in my opinion!!
Girl you very nearly clouded up as we all did the first time we ever heard this Led Zepplin Master piece and tour de force of Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham. It just doesn't get any better.
Jimmy Page is the master! Such a beautiful song. Robert Plant, himself a beautiful soul, and this song, straight out of Middle-Earth. But to be the critic, Plant can't sing like he used to, he had to go to the lower note. But still he did the best he could.
OK? Listen to the Celebration Day album. Those guys could still rock and Plant's vocals were, if anything better than many of his live performances back in the day on that. And that was a good few years after this recording.
My first time to your channel. For your information there is NO bad Led Zeppelin music, none!!! This song is beautiful. Jimmy's guitar work is unreal. Per his usual Robert's voice is great. And that head of hair!!!! ?the women swoon over him. Led Zeppelin's, Pink Floyd's, and the Moody Blues music ALL goes so well with an orchestra!!! Perfect!!! Jimmy is rated in the TOP five of rock guitarist. Watch near the end he discards his pick and finger strums it.... You were smiling & beaming the entire song!!!! Did you love it?? This is a good example as to why Led Zeppelin has sold over 350 million albums worldwide. Back in the day (1980's) I got to see Plant perform as a solo artist. The man can still sing really well. I never got to see Zeppelin in concert other than these videos and films. A hint for you young lady their acoustic work is very special. VERY!!! They have put their spin on a lot of traditional folk style music. I urge you to locate and review as much of it you as you can... You will NOT be sorry!! Hangman is a good one and the Rain Song!!!
A beautiful woman, with an obviously epic soul, ( as she knows when to listen, instead of speaking when we need to listen) fully immersed in a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Good deal
Some context, Jimmy uses a very special, obscure tuning for this song, Robert puts his esoteric lyrics and vocals in and you have one of the most beautiful songs ever. I learned to play this song on guitar and I still marvel at how Jimmy could even come up with it. A true musical virtuoso, Jimmy is.
Before I knew it was an alternate tuning I learned it in standard tuning. It's HARD to play that way. Now it's too late because all my muscle memory is for standard tuning.
Find and watch the 1973 version. It’ll make you cry it’s so beautiful. John Paul Jones (who wrote these string arrangements) is present and just the BEST.
Can never beat Led Zeppelin. That was music the way it ought to be made. The sounds jimmy page creates 0n the guitar is amazing. As a guitarist, I should know.
If you want a different view of Led Zeppelin, my suggestion would be to check out the "No Quarter" album, recorded with a "Middle Eastern" vibe. If you want a good song from that album, try "Kashmir."
I was a child when this song came out, as an adult i still love it! Seriously, it makes me really happy that the younger generation appreciates it too! What a wonderful song it is!
The Rain Song is probably my favorite Led Zeppelin song. I used to play it on the piano, and I had quite a few friends ask me to play it for them, because they just really enjoyed it. Those...I guess you would call them glissandos?...are beautiful.

I watch tons of reaction vids ( its worth saying that I am 62 yrs old ) and my favorite ones are like this one ! Young folks that truly love the music I grew up with and realize that us old farts had a better way of seeing things than the way things are today. There was a true brotherhood among people that existed thru music. Just look at this young lady's beautiful smile and the way her face lights up listening to a timeless classic that quite honestly , you wouldnt think she would give two squats to judging by her age . It truely warms my heart to see this kind of reaction in the younger generation and gives me hope for our future.......You go Nostalgic I love you girl !!!
If you want to have more subscribers etc. I suggest you play more Led Zeppelin the band from the 70’s. They have a huge diehard following, & have for 50 plus years. The greatest band to ever ROCK the world.
This is my favorite Led Zeppelin song to play on my acoustic. The Rain Song, and Pink Floyd’s Wish You We’re Here are great acoustic songs I love to play.Stairway To Heaven is for my electric guitar.🎸🔥😍✌️
It's almost hard to imagine that a lovely song like this was created by by a group that ALSO created Communication Breakdown. Both great songs, 180 degrees different. This is an incredible work that I loved the first time I ever heard it, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, in the early 1970's. I always considered this a far greater song than Stairway, for the reason that the music is as wonderful or better, and the lyrics apply to all of us, wherever we happen to be in life.
Back when music was made with actual properly trained musicians, and the subtle variations in vocal range are appreciable. Me thinks autotuned music ought to have a warning label saying this music may cause cancer to your ears.
IAM 67 years old I think I was like 17 when I seen them live ,what a time for music, this was a song for making out ,wow what memories, todays music IAM sorry to say does not have that, timeless classic LED Zeppelin ❤by the way you are so beautiful ❤️
This is my first time seeing your channel and I just Love your reaction to this awesome song. I noticed that you intently wanted to close your eyes to take in the complete harmony and melody of this song. I was actually thrilled to be able to gaze upon your beauty while enjoying this song for the millionth time. I am a baby boomer totally mesmerized by this great Rock group known as Led Zepellin. They will go down in the annals of history as classical Rock and Roll. 200, to 300 years from now their music will be looked upon as does Mozart, Beethoven and the other greats except that they will be a thousand percent more popular. There never has been 4 great, magically talented musicians whose music changed the world like Led Zepellin has. They lasted 10 years and when they lost their drummer, the remaining 3 members agreed they could not continue. You are a very beautiful women and I pray God bless you and your life with health, joy and goodness...God Bless !
"The Rain Song" is my all-time favorite guitar chord progression. This song charms me on so many different levels, I simply cannot explain it. But . . . I do remember it was about the third time I listened to it carefully. I realized that I absolutely "had to" learn how to play it for myself. I spent an entire summer learning the chords and the rhythm. IT IS NOT AN EASY SONG! And ever since then, I have had a special bond with the music itself, as well as the lyrics which are phrased more deeply than anything of its time, including up to current days. There is more going on inside this song, as well as outside the framework of what one may say is "just a song". But no, this song is a true masterpiece. I want this song to be played at my funeral . . . whenever that may be. Thank you for presenting this song to your audience. God Bless!
loved seeing your smiling face as the music played... this music is truly universal and of course brings back memoires of slow dancing at high school dance nights.
One of my favorite songs. I had a couple of live shows on CD from Zeppelin. When my daughter was 3-5 she used to ask me to play the The Rain Song from the Song Remains The Same. She’s now 26 & is still a fan
That's somewhat of an exaggeration to say "years and years" as he only did part-time session work whilst as a student at art school from late 1962 to mid 1964. It was when he left art school in mid 1964 that he became a full-time session musician and was booked as the #3 choice behind Big Jim Sullivan and Vic Flick. He did that for two years before joining the Yardbirds in mid 1966.
I learned how to play this song on guitar, the live version (Song Remains the Same), the studio version is tuned lower, took me quite a while and different tuning from standard, when I finished learning it, I played along with the recording one final time, and never played it again, it required a lot of practice, but it was totally worth it, such a beautiful song and one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
You can't beat led Zeppelin they changed the sound of music just like the Beatles musicians are still trying to sound like Zeppelin and can't do it 😅😅😅
Another great song by this band, their influence was driven by early black masters,Robert Johnson,Muddy Waters to name a couple.Another masterpiece from their LZ 2 album is Thank You ,and thank you!
hiya, i was about your age when this album came out and well into zeppelin. Me and my girlfriend had recently met and she bought me the album for my birthday. well it was perfect chemistry and we fell in love and moved in together. a few years later we were married, had kids and lived a life. Through all of that, this was our song. Its so nice to hear this recording. Thank you. Were both pensioners now and still dancing, LIve long and prosper sweetheart.
the live version from "the song remains the same"movie, is a mind blowing, life changing performance.they were truely masters of their craft on top of their game.CRAZY GOOD!!!
The song actually by Led Zeppelin! It may be Jimmy and Robert here but they sang it with Zeppelin first! Love that you did this song ! There’s a reason Led Zeppelin is the number one band of all time .Robert Plant is the number one singer off all time and Jimmy Page number one guitarist..vote number one off all time year after year! 🤟🏽🙋♀️😎🙏😘👍😍
This a is a beautiful guitar song! I have heard many people try to play it but most come up short. When he plays this song it matters VERY much weather you strum down or up! You can hold the same chord, strum up and then down and get two different sounds! The result was nothing but amazing! Look up the album "Rite of Strings" by DiMeola, Clarke and Ponté. Amazing violin work by Jon Luke Ponté.
This is a fantastic version, I was extremely fortunate to see this tour back in 96, with the full orchestra. RIP Michael Lee (drummer), you are missed sir.
What? How did he pass? He was so young and a powerful drummer! I saw them twice as Page and Plant and those shows blew me away. As close as I could come to seeing Led Zeppelin. Everyone I went with were floored by the performances and just the awe and majesty. I've seen Plant with one of his bands since and they were great too. He is a first class musician all the way and the people he chooses to play with are all superb.
I got the oppertunity to see robert plant live in a small concert venue back in 1999 it was Just Robert with out jimmy page he had Jeff becks former rythum guitarist and the former guitarist from the cure.pluss some other band members on his solo tour of scandinavia. Great memories Great concert seats looking down on the small stage from the balcony. He sang a handfull of Zeppelin songs the rest was from his solo record out at the time. It was a high light of my life to see him life.
This song is really like no other, the emotion I feel as it wraps is one of just joy and wonder and gratitude, and yes somehow there are tears involved. I know no other tune that can do that. A couple years ago I took the time to learn it, and although I am not one to practice something repeatedly I would finish the song and be so amazed at how beautiful the composition and in disbelief I could play it that I would start all over again. This went on for a few weeks. Time to detune a guitar and grab that magic again.
I remember this! the Plant / page reunion from the 90's right? Gallows Pole was the best song from this. I LOVE Led Zeppelin!!! this song is one of my favorites! Problem with Zep songs is they are so complicated that they sound much different live. Even in this setting with strings and all. So I'm gonna say I love the studio version best. I started loving this song after getting divorced. He goes through the seasons of emotion. Upon us all a little rain must fall.
Loved this bands from day one best ever. Under rated better than Beatles, Pink Floyd, and they were really good bands. if I was on an island and can only have one band to listen to it would be Led Zeppelin
The human connections is beautiful. Music, especially great music, binds us together. Our physical paths may never cross, but through song, our souls connect.
This song has always given me chills. I'm 68 years old and still listen to Zeppelin.
Me too Led Zeppelin fan from Singapore
I just turned 68 and the best things about it is remembering the live shows
@@Cajonzone jealous me. They never came to Australia much, sadly. But not many bands do. Cheers mate.

yeah.... the mellotron...moody blues used one for a long time... their signiture sound
See all the orchestra? John Paul Jones(not present) did all that music in the band.
It took that many people to replace him.
That's a slight exaggeration.
This song is a masterpiece by any measure. Not surprised you get swept away.
I always love this tune. Even though it is kind of sad, it inspires me. "Upon us all just a little rain must fall"
I saw them in 79 at Knebworth when i was 17.What a memory to have. The GOAT.
Wow u r lucky. I will take the next time machine and go back to 1979 at Knebworth😎👍

Prettiest song in Rock and Roll
this song solidifys Jimmy Page 's guitar virtuoso and Robert Plant's vocal sweetness.

By way of explanation Jimmy Page was so good because he worked for years and years as a backup musician in Lonon recording studios.
That's somewhat of an exaggeration to say "years and years" as he only did part-time session work whilst as a student at art school from late 1962 to mid 1964. Big thanks to "Nostalgic sensation" for this clip. Extraordinarily beautiful performance, pure magic
I grew up in the late 60’s and through the 70’s as a teenager, this was my favorite band , epic LED ZEPPELIN 👍👍
Bless you little sister 🙏🏼🌹🕊️
Me too! Best years ever.
I wish I could experience your time 😅❤️
@@stevennovakovich2525 🤝 Right on brother
@@Nostalgicsensation They were a better time indeed 🙏🏼 wish you could have been there also sis 💞🌹🕊️
This is a fantastic version, I was extremely fortunate to see this tour back in 96, with the full orchestra. RIP Michael Lee (drummer), you are missed sir.
No kidding! He was unreal and one of my favorites!
That's so sad 🥲
this is magnificent guitarwork..
possibly Jimmy Page's best work 🎸🎸💥💥👍👍
that would be Jimmy Page who wrote the song and played guitar in Led Zeppelin ,, But yes Robert Plant is 1/4 of the whole
I 100% agree. Guitar perfection.
I'm so happy to have found you listening to one of the gre6love songs ever written for my generation. I see it touched you as it always does me :)
Beautiful Song for a beautiful woman
Thank you ❤️
It's beautiful. So are you
This is my favorite song to play on my guitar🎸
Acoustic,or Electric 🎸
What a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song
Page throws in some extra little details in this version . The strings sound nice .
I recommend checking out the live material from the Madison Square Garden concert. Try Stairway to Heaven. Hope you check it out
This isn’t Led Zeppelin! It’s just two of them! Two of the GOATS!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That's the title of this video
Loved this bands from day one best ever. Under rated better than Beatles, Pink Floyd, and they were really good bands. if I was on an island and can only have one band to listen to it would be Led Zeppelin
This song has saved me from myself countless times. The peace it brings me pulls me to that place of calm
It's a LOT easier to play than many Zep tunes, Jimmy's guitar is tuned to CGCGCD, which is why the chords sound so huge and ethereal.
One song Only tuning
@@sprezzatura8755 The same tuning was used on numerous songs.
I can't think of another song that Page used this tuning on.@@onbedoeldekut1515
It’s a long song, and when it’s over I always wish it wasn’t….
The human connections is beautiful. Music, especially great music, binds us together. Our physical paths may never cross, but through song, our souls connect.
