I LOVE about 90% of this band's songs. The other 10% I LIKE. You'll probably eventually hit a song you won't be as crazy about but still enjoy on some level. A testament to a great band. By the way, it's wanton as in "wanton and disorderly conduct."
I caught that too at the beginning. The emphasis is on the 1st syllable of the word, instead of the 2nd. We're not listening to a bowl of wonton soup! LOL
When Page and Plant toured in '98, they opened with a sped up version of this song thereby blowing the roof off from the get go. The crowd went insane from that point on. There is only One.
Led Zeppelin GROOVES. It's nearly impossible to not want to move when they come on. That's what set them apart. So many rock bands were square on the beat.
I'm somebody that was a teen at the ZEP era... an OG hippie if ya will... LED ZEP always tickled my ears, always made me dance, therefore, I was always happy and charged up. One again...thank you POLO!🤗
Wanton can mean "malicious," but the more likely definitions are "lascivious or promiscuous, especially of women" and "exciting or expressing sexual desire."
The "Physical Graffiti" album is sort of a rabbit hole, all by itself... So many different styles, so many hits, so many "deep cuts" that are also hits. 🤙😎

This was the first Zeppelin song I heard, last day of freshman year in high school. My buddy popped it in the CD player, I was like sweet Moses! who is this?!
What I love about this song is the bass and guitar on the verses are almost exclusively rhythmic, while the drums are playful and clever, almost melodic. All those tasty fill variations are just perfect! And then on the first part of the last verse he plays it totally straight, but even that inversely becomes melodic as well, as a counterpoint to all the earlier variations. A perfectly crafted song!
Love your Zep reactions sir. Just the best band ever. 😊 Just have to amend: how many bands today would kill for that riff? To amend again: how many bands would absolutely rise through the charts on the rhythm section alone? Love the boys. Ty for reaction!

I could watch you do Led Zeppelin all day, they are simply the best.
