Do not be deceived by the bad quality, this is a very precise and useful video. Had no trouble installing my pin-type tremol no on my guitar following his instructions
One of the best "how to" videos I have come across. He talked to us in terms we could understand and emphasized things that were very important. I really enjoyed it and more importantly it has given me the confidence to do this myself. Thank you.
Got mine today, and it took me 20 minutes to install it on my USA Deluxe V-Neck Strat. by following this video. It works an absolute treat! And this is a life saver for me, it's like a blessing from above. I can use standard tuning and drop D with the artist I'm working with and not change guitars. It's a truly elegant solution to a very significant problem. Kevan, thank you VERY MUCH! Nigel. London UK.
Great video - the supplied instructions are good, but being able to watch this made it SO much easier. I now have a perfectly functioning Tremol-no on my Suhr!
Very helpful video. I'm making a major buyer's decision because of this. I realize this video is several years old by this point; please consider remaking this with much better quality video (more close up and in HD) and ditch the background music.
Finally someone actually talks through installing one of these! Nothing worse than 10 minutes of death metal or some other garb and you have no idea what's going on. Kind of could've done without this backing music as well, but thank you for explaining what's going on!
@jgameruk the block didn't pop up when he removed the springs because he is placing pressure on the guitar body which is resting upside down on it's fine-tuners. I'm not sure if he kept pressing/leaning on it for the rest of the install or if the weight of the guitar pressing on the bridge was enough to keep it centered. I always use a small chunk of wood or a 9V battery (handy) between the block and back of the cavity, with a bit of duct tape to hold it there during repairs/installs.
You do not have to put the retainer on at any point (it's only a precaution), but I found it easier to do that as these springs have a tendency to pop until the string tension is close to equal. His bridge stayed in place when he took the springs off which helps and also when he put them back, but this doesn't always happen.
it depends... does your trem have a little bar that goes over the pins of the tremolo springs to keep them from flying off? if so, then you need a clamp type. if it is like the tremolo in the video, where the springs stick into the trem block with nothing hindering them, then the pin type will work fine.
Do you have a choice wether you use the clamp or the pin? I don't really get that. Is it personal choice or does it depend on your brigde type. Mine is a Schaller Lockmeister. Thx in advance.
so what's the main difference between clamp and pin style tremol-no's, because i want to get for my licensed floyd rose, but not sure which one to go for. are there any main advantages for using one over the other or not?? cheers, Rob
Thanks for the video, it's very usefull...! What shall I do if I still feel the tremol-no, when I'm fooling around with the whammy bar? Shall I loosen up the screws in the pin? Thanks again...!
Hi Kevan, would you have any advice for me, as my pin type has made my Floyd really stiff, the flutter has completely gone and I've spent hours adjusting the claw screws? Thanks for your help.
Tightening the set screws on the claw causes the claw to move and set-up on my guitar. It makes my tuning go almost half a step up in pitch and causes me to have to unscrew them to adjust the claw screws again as the action has moved. Any tips?
Part 1 The spring retainer bar (or block lock mechanism) really only comes to the fore when the bridge isn't set up right ie when you're re-stringing, cleaning or something like that. The springs can pop out when setting up.
Does it matter pin type or clamp type for a jackson dinky (mine is that one) and if i had 3 springs and I have them one way and when i instal the tremo no and there isnt room for the way I used to have my springs will it effect the bridge height or tuning. thanks
i have a vintage kramer will and i really dont want to cut my ground wire or remove any parts from it because i dont want the value to drop on it so unless it's really really worth it i wont get one so is it really worth the hassel honestly
I would imagine drop c would be possible. Naturally, if it's in hardtail or dive only mode, the trem wouldn't recess due to the excess string slack. I would just make sure you're using a heavier string gauge for tunings that low. At the very least, 10's. I found out early on that drop tuning that low with 9 gauge strings sounds pretty awful. Hope this helped.
@dverhonich I've installed on a Musicman JP and it still flutters no problem. It's all in your installation. Good job with no resistance will flutter. Good luck.
I''ve been trying to install Tremol-No ( pin type ) in my Ibanez RG3120F Prestige but I apparently failed and will have to fix it. How did you remove springs without removing strings ( how did you block bridge from popping out and kept it in locked position ). Also I tried to install springs but they're popping out of the holes ( I guess bridge must be set under right angle to avoid it ). Could you give me hints how to fix it and get tremol-no working with my guitar, please?
I just installed it into my guitar. It was quite painful, and took at least half an hour, but now everything works. I never looked into a guitar before, but i was still able to install it :D Double stops will be in tune, but you will never get it working like a hardtail, just like a very tight trem (which it is xD). But that's a minor issue which doesn't really count. You can tune to drop D. It works mostly as i expected. (Tuning won't be as stable as before you installed it, but what the hell)
kool well i have my kramer in drop c and it sounds freaking sweet it wasnt too much of a hassle to get it like that so i guess i really have no need for the t-no now thanks for the reply btw
hey how it going. I am getting ready to install my tremol-no and I noticed the pin that goes into the tail is slightly bent about 10 deg. Is it supposed to be straight?
Hello! I have an ibanez rg1527 with an edge 7 bridge on it. I bought the pin type tremol no by mistake (I bought it before checking the website, my bad). Will it work with my bridge? or should I just buy the small clamp model?
Hi ! i have big problem with my tremol-no ! i have the pin type, my threads on the tailpiece isn't directly aligned , it was in the middle of the holes that suppose to hold the spring. any suggestion please!
It's an earth wire, its so if theres a power spike or overload or malfunction, instead of the player getting zapped by the guitar, the electricity goes safely through the earth terminal.
Part 3 Once you are happy with that just remove the spring retainer plate (so you can fit the tailpiece into the hole) and put the receiver onto the Tremol-No shaft and attach the tailpiece to the bridge. The springs won't come out in normal use as the tension is too great when the guitar is set up right.
It's all clear except when you checked for alignment - if it binds, then how do you decide which direction to turn the claw screws??? Trial and error can't be the best way!
Part 2 When you put the Tremol-No claw plate on, just leave the tailpiece/receiver off. Then put the springs back on (like the video at 10 minutes) and then put the spring retainer plate BACK ON (I half put it on at an angle to save the springs popping out as I put them on one by one because they can pop out on these bridges). Then set up your bridge like normal ie spring to string tension being equal, the level of the bridge to the body and also that your guitar is in tune.
is it possible to remove the bar from the Tremol No body? (the part that says tremol no on it) i want to remove it but the i can't remove that damn bar
make sure the springs holding your claw piece down are long enough to securely hold the tremol-no. or you will rip the claw right out of the guitar like i did, because the original piece is longer than the tremol-no and accomadated shorter screws!!
You should think about redoing this video, it has a lot of potential, but between bad quality and the music being a little too loud, it's difficult to follow.
What's the difference between the small claw and large claw versions? Is large for aftermarket big brass blocks? Also, the 9 dislikes here are from djent players who have no sense of melody. Rob Balducci is amazing.
To the author: I haven't noticed much difference between this video and the video called "Tremol-No Clamp-type Installation". What's the difference between Pin and Clamp-type???
no le pasa nada al tremolo, solo que al quitarle las cuerdas es mas facil trabajar aparte que si le quitas las cuerdas y los resortes pierdes la tension y vas a batalla para ajustarlo
hahaha wow, when it flips it over on the backside it looks exatly like my ESP, execpt, the neck plate says ESP istead of Jaskson and mine as the ESP Sticker on it haha nicee tho

Yes, please ditch the wanky background music. It's just distracting and doesn't add anything.
The music makes me want to go nuts on the whammy bar, ironically.
It’s funny. None of these companies have bothered to create new videos in HD to help sell their products.
Many many many many thanks!!!! :)
I followed every step/advice carefully and installing this device was a walk in the park!!!
Cheers from Canada!
yourilevesque123 does it work for a 7 string guitar?
GREAT tutorial. Takes out all the guesswork.
I just received mine today, and can't wait to install it this evening.
Many thanks for this video! Couldn't have done it without you!
Great video, thanks for the instructions! Helped me A LOT! :D
Hope the Tremol-No will be as awesome as it looks, seems like a great product : )
Finally someone actually talks through installing one of these! Nothing worse than 10 minutes of death metal or some other garb and you have no idea what's going on. Kind of could've done without this backing music as well, but thank you for explaining what's going on!
I think the most clever part of all of this was the screw in part for the grounding. They've thought of everything! I want one.
Just ordered my Tremol-No! I also ordered a spare trem cover that I'm going to mill a nice clean slot to easy access the knobs.
thanks for such detailed instruction!!! I've installed that thing without problems!
I just got my tremel no today. and am dreading the install. .a hd video would be great but this works. .
Yes,it says which tremol-nos work on which tremolos on their website and the pin-type does work with the schaller.
Very handy looking device. One question though. Will it fit on an Ibanez ZR bridge? There are no hooks, and only two holes for the springs
The ground wire attachment looked really easy. I might look into one of these.
@jgameruk the block didn't pop up when he removed the springs because he is placing pressure on the guitar body which is resting upside down on it's fine-tuners. Just got mine and will be installing on my RR1 with an Original Floyd very soon.
OK thanks
another thing,
why do you suggest using the small clamp style over the large one?
thanks again,
Rob

It installed it in my guitar.
Thank you for a Great item.
which pixel is the trem block on? it's even smaller!!!
@ 4:45 - you can also use playing cards to keep the tremolo in place during spring takedown/install
Very good!!!Who is playing on background?
Thanks for the video, it's very usefull...!
What shall I do if I still feel the tremol-no, when I'm fooling around with the whammy bar?
Shall I loosen up the screws in the pin?
Thanks again...!
What song is playing in the background? It sounds like Eric Johnson's rhythm mixed with Joe Satriani's lead,
Hi Kevan, would you have any advice for me, as my pin type has made my Floyd really stiff, the flutter has completely gone and I've spent hours adjusting the claw screws? Thanks for your help.
Oh, thanks Kevan. I though it was him, his playing seems familiar from the Tremol-no demo video.
Tightening the set screws on the claw causes the claw to move and set-up on my guitar. It makes my tuning go almost half a step up in pitch and causes me to have to unscrew them to adjust the claw screws again as the action has moved. Any tips?
Good and clear instruction and the music is quite comical.
hey, if I pull up or down the bar and the tremol sounds like a a little rubbing... its that fine or it has to be super quiet??
Part 1
The spring retainer bar (or block lock mechanism) really only comes to the fore when the bridge isn't set up right ie when you're re-stringing, cleaning or something like that. The springs can pop out when setting up.
Thanks so much for this video =)
Great product =)
how do you install the tremel-no on an ibanez edge bridge?
Cool, who's the music in the background by?
Does it matter pin type or clamp type for a jackson dinky (mine is that one) and if i had 3 springs and I have them one way and when i instal the tremo no and there isnt room for the way I used to have my springs will it effect the bridge height or tuning. thanks

hey i have a question if my guitar is in drop d and i put the tremolo-no in hardtail or dive mode can i tune it down to drop c ?

Clear enough, but the music is unbearable...
I must agree. Very very informative video, but the jesus fucking christ the music is annoying.
Awesome info... thank you
@dverhonich I've installed on a Musicman JP and it still flutters no problem. It's all in your installation. Good job with no resistance will flutter. Good luck.

The 3 springs in my guitar are in triangle, should i not mind this and put them all parralel to each other like in your guitar?
What if my guitar didn't come with a grounding wire? Does it make a difference whether the grounding wire is installed on the Tremol-no or not?
I have a Jackson King flying V with a floating tremolo, which type of tremol-no should I use.?
Am I going to need a soldering tool to install this on an original Floyd Rose?
That's ok (I don't use that guitar much anymore anyway).
I think I'll get one for my Edge Pro. Thanks for you r answer
Will this fit on an ESP The Mirage Custom ca 1987? It has a non-recessed ESP Sinclair Tremolo.
kool well i have my kramer in drop c and it sounds freaking sweet it wasnt too much of a hassle to get it like that so i guess i really have no need for the t-no now thanks for the reply btw
@Jb5258 the pin type actually fits into the holes in the trem block. and the clamp fits over the trem block...lol it clamps it.
hey how it going. I am getting ready to install my tremol-no and I noticed the pin that goes into the tail is slightly bent about 10 deg. Is it supposed to be straight?
would it work for strat type trems, or similar?
plz plz lz help me where i can buy it ?? i have a lot off problems with my tremelo guitar shheet
Does the backgrounf music vaguely remind anyone of dream theater? Specifically the song take the times ending,
Hello!
I have an ibanez rg1527 with an edge 7 bridge on it.
I bought the pin type tremol no by mistake (I bought it before checking the website, my bad). Will it work with my bridge? or should I just buy the small clamp model?
Will I be able to freely change the tuning of my guitar without having to set-up anything? I mean using hard tail mode
Hi ! i have big problem with my tremol-no ! i have the pin type, my threads on the tailpiece isn't directly aligned , it was in the middle of the holes that suppose to hold the spring. any suggestion please!
Which pixel is the tremol-no?
I'm going to go see if guitar center has some. This looks great for when I have to change tunings a lot.
what if you use two springs, will this still work?
what is the point of the ground wire attached to the claw
It's an earth wire, its so if theres a power spike or overload or malfunction, instead of the player getting zapped by the guitar, the electricity goes safely through the earth terminal.
clear enough for me to install it, achievement enough!
do i need a different one for a universe 7 string
Part 3
Once you are happy with that just remove the spring retainer plate (so you can fit the tailpiece into the hole) and put the receiver onto the Tremol-No shaft and attach the tailpiece to the bridge. The springs won't come out in normal use as the tension is too great when the guitar is set up right.
What if you use four springs on your guitar?
i quite like the music in the back ground who is it ?
It's all clear except when you checked for alignment - if it binds, then how do you decide which direction to turn the claw screws??? Trial and error can't be the best way!
Just installed one, it's awesome haha
My screw won’t come out for the wire.we’re else can I solder it?
Part 2
When you put the Tremol-No claw plate on, just leave the tailpiece/receiver off.
(the part that says tremol no on it) i want to remove it but the i can't remove that damn bar
can you also instal a tremol no without strings ?? :D
hey guys i have a Tele style guitar with a floating Wilkinson trem, does anyone knows what kind of Tremol-No should work..??
www.tremol-no.com/workswith.asp
make sure the springs holding your claw piece down are long enough to securely hold the tremol-no.
or you will rip the claw right out of the guitar
like i did, because the original piece is longer than the tremol-no and accomadated shorter screws!!
Any body know what song that is at 12:05?
anybody.....whats the song calledd????????pleaseee
can u put it on an after market big block?
@kalimoncho51 yeah, they do work. i've got the exact same thing in my Ibanez.
yea it will work on any gauge stringed guitar
You should think about redoing this video, it has a lot of potential, but between bad quality and the music being a little too loud, it's difficult to follow.
restring it in floating mode, then put it into hardtail mode after changing strings and tuning it and all that
you can put this on your strat's floating bridge and it'd work the exact same way it would on the Floyd in this video.
How difficult is it to make a new video without music and better resolution?
What's the difference between the small claw and large claw versions? Is large for aftermarket big brass blocks?
Also, the 9 dislikes here are from djent players who have no sense of melody.
Rob Balducci is amazing.
+9unslin9er I play djenty music, and I write as melodically as possible. Senseless hate for other musicians is what's wrong with the music industry.
+Devon same here
Background music sounds like Liquid Tension Experiment, am I right?
i thought the current model fitted it.. the one where u use the clamp instead of the pin.
@loginer761
That's the point of the whole device, isn't it?
got the same jackson dk2 just the newer model. Alot people bought the old model and got screwed. The newer model has real pickups and better hardware
To the author: I haven't noticed much difference between this video and the video called "Tremol-No Clamp-type Installation". What's the difference between Pin and Clamp-type???
The music sounds like Liquid Tension Experiment or Dream Theater. I'm nearly confident that it's Petrucci and Rudess playing guitar and keys.
ohh typo
make sure the screwss holding your claw piece down.
screws.
no le pasa nada al tremolo, solo que al quitarle las cuerdas es mas facil trabajar aparte que si le quitas las cuerdas y los resortes pierdes la tension y vas a batalla para ajustarlo
Whos the music by? It's fucken tasty :)
