@@brandon9271 Do your home work before buy this I want to just block mine and I have heard bad thing on what a bitch it to change strings. Do your homework and decide for yourself. I put a solo tremolo stop in the front then made the springs tight for $15.43 off reverb. If you feel that is cheap there is the killer mega stop its brass so it is $35 and I uses wood wedge from the hardware store and put that in the back. So now my Strat and PRS are fixed in there factory positions and I am very happy. Does anyone know if there is a Strat that comes with a fixed bridge if not why in the hell has Fender not test the market with one. With all the blocking videos you think they would know ny now
Yes! In hardtail mode, your trem will be completely set, it won't move at all, so that when you tune your strings it won't affect the trem's suspension, so you can just tune up and then lock 'em right after. :) Also if you keep the fine tuning screws as close to the trem as you can make them (raising the pitch) and THEN tune and THEN lock up, you can even tune down a half step without even unlocking your neck nut things. How sweet is that. :)
Wow, definitely worth buying. I like floating bridges, but not being able to drop tune on the fly is a pain in the ass. And if you don't have the money for multiple guitars for different tunings, like most people, this is a life saver. I am definitely buying one.
I've been a loyal Tremol-No user for years. It's a great tool for what it's intended for; turning a Floyd equipped guitar into a stop-tail or dive only use. As for locking in drop tunings and such (like a Steinberger), probably not. That's because there's a certain amount of mass used in order to NOT interfere with the normal use of the bridge. One benefit they don't mention in the video is how invaluable it is while adjusting your intonation saddles while keeping your string tension.
you like it? does the d-tuna work perfectly with the bombs? it seems like you kinda need this tremol-no thing if you still want to dive bomb and stay in tune with a d-tuna yes?
Artie Lemos so i want to put this on a guitar they dont make a hard tail version of. In hardtail mode does it work truly like a hard tail? I can drop tune and change tunings on the fly? And change strings like a normal bridge? All of that?
Perfect! I've been researching tremolo blocking for a while. Aside from the chunk of wood mod all other methods required me to drill a hole or alter my guitar in a way that would be permanent. The fact that I can install the Tremol-No and still be able to return my guitar to stock is what sold me. Besides, the simplicity of switching between hard tail, dive only and free floating is just awesome. Can't wait to get mine.
I got one of these for my Floyd Rose equipped EC-1000. It works perfectly (I have tested it with an electronic tuner), I can drop tune and bend strings without the others going out of tune. This is a truly amazing product and a must buy for anyone with a floating bridge guitar.
Okay sorry it took so long I didn't have time to respond. This thing is AMAZING, honestly, it's the answer to all my problems. If you're in a band, you NEED this. Seriously. Well worth it. The only thing is, when it's in hardtail mode, and you're changing the strings, don't think you can pop 'em all out, I just did and the trem flew back. Change them like you normally would but you skip the whole ten hour tuning process. Get the Tremol-No.
You tune it like you would tune a guitar without a trem, if it's in hardtail mode. You unlock the nuts and then lock them when you're all tuned up. It takes less time because it isn't dependent upon the suspension of the tremelo anymore, so when you tune one string, it doesn't affect the tuning of any others. It's friggin' SWEET.
Yes, in hardtail mode you just undo the locking nut and use the tuners on the headstock. It functions just like any hardtail guitar. You can change tuning in dive-only mode too, but only if you are tuning down. I don't have a tremol-no yet, but I know several people who do have one. I also have spoken with Kevan, the inventor. These are the best trem blocker you can buy.
Just switched from classical and acoustic to electric, and like a proper idiot I bought a guitar with a FR not knowing what I am getting myself into...The Tremol-No may just be the answer I have been looking for. Thanks!
@SteeleInd I just got a Tremol-no just for that purpose. I'm using it to block the tremelo instead of the traditional block or stop. The Floyd Rose rep says that this is the most important thing in tuning after changing strings (block the tremelo). There is a great video on youtube that shows how to do this.
Have known Kevan for about 10 years...I tell my students: Credibility is composed of two major components, character and competence. Kevan has both in spades!
@Mthooz i just installed mine. It works but not as well as I had hoped. If your in dive only and pull up on accident it gets moved out of position and if your in hardtail and bump it then it gets stuck in the wrong tuning until you pull up a little. It seems like you have to be careful and probably remove the tremolo bar if your in hardtail.
If you break a string on full floating mode you'll have to use the tremolo arm to bring the guitar back in tune and then lock the two thumb screws, am I right?
@aph613 no. its not a quick tuning device. you still need to loosen the springs in back in order for the trem to stay in tune after unlocking the tremol-no
so if i understand correctly, in floating mode it makes no difference? in other words there is no benefit to using tremel no if i only play with floating bridge?
Well, what they are trying to say is, you dont lose the ability to use the full floating trem feature (at the turn of 2 thumbscrews its that easy), should you want the benefit of having a hardtail/divebomb mode. For example, you can make your own trem block, but in order to go back to using full float, it requires a hell of a lot of manual work and retuning/balancing springs.
+Airtrooper719 XBL If you're looking for tuning stability with a free floating bridge, you may want to consider a hipshot tremsetter. I have those in five other strat-style guitars. I installed the tremol-no in one that I couldn't set up with a hipshot tremsetter just to check out its features.
Lock the trem in place before changing strings. Once the new strings are tuned, release the trem no, and their should be very little tweeking at this point. This removes one of the biggest nightmares of using a Floyd Rose. (As long as you keep the same gauge strings ! )
Hey, I was wondering if I have the guitar locked in hardtail, tune down to perhaps D-Standard, and then put in full floating, would the thing go out of tune? Im asking because I would prefer to not have to keep my SG for one song on the setlist of my band. I love using the Ibanez Live.
Really nice... In floating mode, can you anchor your palm on the bridge without it going out of tune? I know that other devices work like that, but at the expense of that 'grab' the magnet does.. Just wondering if this one had found another way? Thanks.
yes, in dive only mode, you can use your squeels and you won't loose tunage if a string brakes. But you can only dump the bar down, you can't pull it higher than your trem is normally.
I forgot I had one of these. I was digging around a box looking for a cable the other day when I noticed it. Still brand new in plastic. Vintage artifact now. Any bidders?? Starting at $100 w/ free shipping

Quick question here. When you have it locked in place, what position should the trem be in? Level with the body? Slightly recessed? Slightly up? Is it just a preference thing? I’m kind of new to Floyd Rose trems and could use some guidance here. Thanks!

So could you set the tremol-no to hardtail mode when you're changing strings to make the whole process much easier? (The tuning/string changing issues with trem-equipped guitars are one of the big reasons I stay clear of them.)
This thing is just great.! But how low can i tune my guitar /? I have a 7 string and wish to drop tune to G (6) all strings dropped. Can i use it like that or will it give me neck problems in the long run
Please provide instructions for these three modes on your website! That way I could remind myself how to use it with a glance at it, instead of looking at a 15 year old video at 240p for 5 minutes. One picture could convey the same information.
i was planing to sell my guitar i love to play because i never used the trem but i liked the feel of it and it was allways a drag to change strings and what ever, but this just solves everything!
Does hard tail makes your tremolo stable?? So you can play dropped tunings without doing something to your tremolo? I have an Rg370 Dx can i make this "hard tail" to make my tremolo stable and not floatin ?
please man help me,,, I have a question that is killing me,,, my question is,,,I have a ibanez edge pro III, the tremol-no work with this guitar? because in the website of tremol-no says that only works for guitars with edge pro II and I have a ibanez guitar edge pro III,,, so tell me what tremol-no work with my guitar?,,,thank you,,,
so, on the dive-only deep-c mode, can I tune the guitar without unlocking the the nut on my floyd rose?? I tried to switch from drop A(seven string) to standard...and back forth. Takes too long and my tuning is not-stable!!
if i want to tune from e standard to drop b or something like that (if the guitar is in hardtail mode) do i have to do anything special? or can i just down tune
I'm getting one of these for the purpose of that occasional drop tuning and for blocking the bridge for string changes. If I need more sustain, I've got a hardtail. And for gigs. I'll set it for divebombs only for a gig just in case I break a string. You've broken strings haven't you?
Hey all. I have a tremelo-no installed my Schecter. My guitar is set up in E standard and I wish to tune to drop D. I'm in hardtail mode right now. Can I drop tune without any problems? I haven't seen answer to this anywhere so I thought I'd ask here.
I have questions ! 1) Does the guitar go out of tune when you play pedal steel and double stop licks the guitar is full floating ?? If yes,Why ? 2) why do drop things need dive only mode?
1. Yes the guitar will go out of tune when you do pedal steel or double stop licks when in float mode because that's the nature of a floating trem. There's nothing this device can do to change that. 2. You want to use dive only (or hardtail) mode in order to drop tune because in floating mode the entire guitar will detune slightly when you drop the low e string. Again this is just the nature of a floating trem. Think of it like this. When this device is in floating mode your trem will behave exactly the same way it does without the device installed.
Is it possible to put this in hardtail mode and keep my tuning stability that comes with my floyd rose? I don't even use my tremolo, I just like the tuning stability. If not, I can still use my guitar like it's a hardtail, and dick around with whatever tunings I want without screwing anything up, right?
@98767jack if you lock it, you can change tunings but it will have to stay locked. however, if you want to use the trem, you WILLhave to reset the entire trem which is a serious pain in the ass haha. but if the tremol-no is in fixed bridge mode, you can go from standard to drop F# if you want without resetting anything. make sense?
@swimmerforlife789 Bringing the tuning up will cause the trem to move forward and make the rest of your strings go out of tune. Deep-C mode will only work for down tuning because down tuning causes the bridge to go back into the trem cavity. You can go from standard to drop A but not drop A to standard, hope this helps.
"Just like a hardtail..." ffs sounds like that UK Volkswagen ad from a few years back. "Just like a golf...". This ad is bloody ridiculous but I love it.
I just had one of these installed on my ESP Alexi Signature. It is a better bracket than the stock one for the FR, and being more massive means better tone. The divebomb is great for live. The ability to lock makes changing strings easy. I only have to do little fine tuning adjustments daily anyway, and I'm talking .1 cent adjustments at most. I've ordered another one for another axe.
Ah, 240p... we meet again.

Pretty interesting, I wanted an Ibanez RG but i wanted to be able to drop tune and tune down half step. This makes it perfect.
Can the Tremol-no work with an Ibanez EDGE 3?
will i be able to tune my guitar just like one without FR? Cause thats my Problem.
"Just like a hardtail..." ffs sounds like that UK Volkswagen ad from a few years back. "Just like a golf...". This ad is bloody ridiculous but I love it.
i loled @ 2:11, also the tremol-no is the greatest invention since the wheel.
How well does this work on a strat bridge ?
