Floyd Rose was created to solve one problem of keeping the guitar in tune but the solution creates 10 other problems to keep Floyd Rose happy. It's sad.
ideaquest bro I got the kramer nite and it's hell. I can't figure out how to get the bridge just right. I think I fucked up
Actually | was surprised to find out that in practice it was super easy to work with FR compared to calibrating a vintage six-point to please you while not going out of pitch easily. If you have a good OFR/Edge type and a good setup to begin with, it's peanuts, really. They stay in tune as well as any unabused fixed bridge even when heavily abused, if all is setup ok. I love my OFR-equipped Ibanez RG (don't ask why OFR) :)
Ironic right?
@@deliberate570 take like a whole day if you have to and research how the floyd rose works from a mechanical standpoint it makes troubleshooting your bridge much easier
It's not sad, it's fun! At least for me :)
All great advice. Unfortunately, I had to learn these things the hard way. (Where were you 35 yrs ago?!)
Sir we are sorry for your suffering
@@ahnaftahmid872 Much appreciated Pablo but it's all gravy now my friend. Cheers!
@@t-boog2173 my first guitar was a Floyd rose no guitar can hurt me now
@@ahnaftahmid872 I just got a Floyd rose so my suffering has just began
I havent suffered yet
Every 'Rose' has it thorn!
😆
Good one !
Now I realise what this song was really about!
Thats deep♥️
True statement annoying song
all my life i was thinking what that song meant...now i get it.
I can't tell you how valuable your channel is to me and my guitars. I've been using your methods for a few years and I consider your channel to be the definitive setup guide..thanks
Years of wondering how to solve the locking nut/sharpened note scenario... suddenly solved forever with one video. THANK YOU! (This is why I love UA-cam so much.)
The first tip is the most valuable to me. I never thought to lower the retention bar. I just tuned the string a little flat before I locked down the nut. Thank you for making this video.
This has got to be one of the most informative and best videos on fr problems. Thanks
I have exactly the same setup on my Kramer and the same headaches..cant believe i didn't see the nut problem and see the solution..worth watching just for that. Thanks for your videos.
Very good, in particular the "sitar" effect , it is something that happens with other guitars , thx .. grazie
Good video, I've seen most of these problems, wish I had your video back then. I even returned a guitar because of open string buzz. Because of Luthiers like you I went from being afraid to adjust my truss rod to fully re-fretting a 1984 Kramer. Thanks for all you do!!
I have been watching your Beatles isolated vocals youtube video's for years thinking wow this guy is not only an amazing singer but also breaks down each harmony like a champ and mimics the timbre of each of the fab fours tone with terrific execution. Little did I know that you could also solve my Floyd Rose tuning issues on my '94 fender talon where countless others offered no viable solution. Great channel. I wouldn't be surprised if I searched for an "Osso Buco recipe" or "How to back butter porcelain tiles with grout and your channel came up in a google search.
I'm new to the floyd rose bridge and have experienced several of the problems you described. I've been searching for answers on you tube and I'm excited to saw you answered them!!! Thank you so much. I'm now a new subscriber!!
Fantastic advice and explanation, as always! Grazie mille!
One of the most useful and educational floyd videos i have seen so far. Thanks for this!
Very enlightening and useful. Thank you.
By far one of the best videos I've seen in regards to FR
Great video, Galeazzo. Your first tip worth it all, thank you.

I'm giving my Kramer Focus 2000 a tune-up. This video helped me solve issues that have plagued me for 20+ years....
This was incredibly useful. Thanks.
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing this knowledge.
Great Video! Fantastic Info!! Thank You Very Much
You are the very best luthier/tech on the whole internet.
You get right to the point, with relevent information that few others would nøt share even if they were aware of such insights... and you do so without any fluff, gimmicks, or marketeering.
Better yet, you are a humble and gracious soul without the annoying ego-seeking insecurities and bad habits that other 'guitar gods' put first and foremost in their videos.
You make videos about guitars, and their idiosyncracies, and you educate your viewers while the other wannabes make videos about themselves, if they can stay focused at all.
YOU have set a new standard, and a righteous format that all youtube channelers should seek to attain.
For all of that my dear friend, you earn my highest respect.
Thank you. Sincerely.
Thanks for doing this video mate! I'm a drummer just and old Jackson and you helped me understand everything I needed about Floyd Rose with this short video. Thank you so much!!!!
Wow, very useful tips for my favorite Floyd Rose, thank you 🎸
Great tutorial thank you.
I have an Epiphone by Gibson Strat copy HSS that the factory Floyd Rose they installed disintegrated when I went to clean it. I eventually bought a new real Floyd rose> Installing it I had to plug the rocker studs and re-drill those holes twice. getting this bridge reinstalled without knowing a thing was a bear. I have encountered every one of these problems. I have watched more videos by Frudua and he has never given me miss information, and he always shares freely his knowledge. To people like myself he is a real blessing, and to my guitars. They are finally behaving the way they should. I have completely re-vamped the electrical and added Dimarzio PAF DP261FCR bridge with true Velvet middle and neck, It has push pull switches three separate tone controls Bridge is series/Parallel as well as phase switchable. The mid and neck are phase switchable. I also have a bridge neck combo switch as my 5 way super switch has two modes. This guitar after watching these videos sounds totally high dollar ! Originally bought the guitar off of e-bay and it was so unused that the plastic coating was on all the plastic covers. with Case for $90. When asked why he sold it he said he had too many guitars and was letting some of the ones he doesn't play go. I just imagine it was the Floyd rose that sealed the deal.
Excellent video. I came back to watch it again because I forgot parts of it and was going to mess around with my Floyd Rose. Best video on the topic. Saved me some head-aches.
Great info! Thanks.
Thanks for this video man! Awesome!

I just discovered your channel and solved 2 things i couldn't understand because i'm only 2 years into guitars.I'm very curious by nature and always liked to understand what i'm working on whether it's at work or in my hobby,i like to fix things the right way so imagine how grateful i am to have found why the open string buzz or the string coming sharp when locking the nut.A big big thank to you for sharing your knowledge.
Great info on the Floyd...I was jyst looking for videos on how to keep mine in best shape for tuning stability and this helped a lot to understand the various issues to be aware of and how to solve them! Thanks! 😎🎸
I love you man!!! This buzz from the open high E was driving me nuts, but this trick helped. Pushing the string to one side didn't help, but pushing it to the other did solve the problem. Simple solution, but big relief. Huge thanks!!!
Great video man!!!!!!!!! Was a big help!!!!! Thank you.
Great tips. Thanks

Great video buddy and has helped me a lot with some issues I was having, Thanks
Thank you for the video. I actually learned a couple things that I did not know before. And I have been doing FR set-ups for a while. Thank you again!!!!!!
Thanks for the tips for the Floyd Rose problems!
Very valuable information. Thank you!
Thanks for the guitar wisdom.
Fantastic video thank you! After years of frustration playing Gibson, Fender, PRS, and other guitars that would not stay in tune, now I only play Floyd Rose guitars. This design is complex and does require a specific knowledge base to maintain tuning and intonation, but from my experience playing guitar for 50+ years the effort required to learn how to fix the issues presented in this video is a small price to pay for perfect tuning and intonation! Thank you my friend for taking the time to share your wisdom with us!
Just restringed my Floyd Rose and was super happy to find this video to solve all the problems I am having. I definitely didn't screw my string retainer enough and I had a bit of a tuning change when locking the strings in.
Excellent video! Learned a lot!
Thanks man! This is great stuff for me! Got to reassemble a old with a FR and I am shure those 5 are no problem anymore.
the very first fix - the lowering the string retaining bar - seems to have solved my issue. I never even considered this! You've saved my live guitar from potentially expensive messing around. Thank you!
Real hero this man, Same for me!!!
Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge. Great video !!, very good explained.
Great tips!! I thought i had a pretty good handle on the set ups...learn something new right here. Thanks!

Great video, It helped me understand why my strings have different highs and how to fix it. Thanks !!!
extremely helpful video thx a lot
Good video. I love my Floyd Rose! I wanted to point out a problem I had. Mine would make a "click" sound when you pressed down the arm. Drove me crazy. Sometimes it would go away. Couldn't tell where it was coming from. Sounded like it was the springs or the bridge hitting the pick guard. In that area, or maybe the bolt on neck complaining, but it was not. It was those screws that hold on the nut. They were loose, so the whole nut was moving when I pressed down on the tremolo arm. Since most nuts are glued in place, I didn't think about it until I started doing some online research. Fixed it last night after suffering with it for years. Works great now. Smooooth and silent!! Never did have any tuning issues. Maybe that will help someone out. Cheers!
Great job
Excellent! The sharp on locking down the nut really is a pain. Didn't know about the small plate on the underside of the bridge saddles either. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you and thank you once again. I just bought Ibanez with ZR tremolo and this video is very helpful. I've been actually looking for a way to stop open string buzzing for more than half an hour before I noticed you uploaded this :).
Thank you. this was very helpful.
