Illymation as a man i kneel down and i firmly grasp your hand & i look you stirght in the eye and tell you how Brave of a woman you truly are and that this was the best decision for you because babies are expensive and you shouldent be scraping by when you could get a job in the Army and earn lots of dough that way but at least you had a great time under the sheets...
I lost my baby at 16weeks. However my womb decided it didn’t want to let her go, and kept her soaking and rotting. I got so sick, and had to have an “abortion” because I was getting septic. I live in Ohio, and had this happened right after the overturn, I wouldn’t have made it. I had lost a little over half my body weight, and was throwing up so much it was making my throat bleed. Thank you for taking the time to tell your story.
Wow... I'm glad you're ok. I'm confident Ohio still would have given you the care you needed though. What you had should count as a high-risk pregnancy in which case Ohio allows abortion in those cases even with Ohio's heartbeat bill in effect. You should have gotten the care you needed regardless, but the trouble seems to be I've heard stories of doctors delaying treatment because they didn't fully understand the legal specifics of Roe v Wade being overturned. Hopefully doctors not understanding the law is very rare now that it's been over a year since Roe v Wade was overturned. Considering Texas and Alabama also allow abortion in cases where the mother is at serious risk like with ectopic tubal pregnancies, I think we can all agree that the proper handling of a miscarriage, particularly in your case, is essential healthcare and that it's fair in legal terms to have the option to get an abortion if the doctor confirms a pregnancy is high risk (though it's also a heroic act to carry a high risk pregnancy to term if the baby can be saved if the mother wants to). Side note: I've done a fair amount of research since I first saw this video about 4 days after it was posted. I have yet to see abortion defined as anything other than the termination of a pregnancy, I don't know where Illy got her definition from (11:33) let alone if it's true, because that would make treating uterine cancer illegal...
The nurses and doctors at PP are some of the absolute sweetest people. They helped me for years with my birth control and even more so when I was going through a miscarriage. They were amazing, I wish I could give them something for helping so much.
13:38 "You don't value my life. You don't value the living. You only value an organ and its ability to produce children. Not the actual living, breathing person who for some reason, has to beg for the right of their life, their liberty and their happiness." That hits so hard. 😭😭😭
Honestly, I'm mostly shocked that you were bleeding for months and they just shrugged and went "We'll try to pencil you in." Like, dude, a person was slowly bleeding to death and you didn't treat it as an emergency?! I'm glad you're okay.
I can guarantee they didn’t have a choice. Plan parenthood has to deal with harassment, hate campaigns, bomb threats, and more. While it sucks, it’s more a problem with the state of the country than the hospital
The problem is that even before the overturning of roe v wade there weren’t a lot of OBGYN doctors, let alone facilities. It is a pretty niche path to go, and doesn’t pay that much. You have to be a special type of person to become and OBGYN after dedicating nearly a decade of school and then rotations, just to choose something that doesn’t maximize the money you make. There is a reason why a lot of pediatricians are older, because not a lot of young doctors want to be paid so little (relatively) after that huge investment.
Regardless if you believe in abortion or not, it’s upsetting to hear how difficult it was to get basic medical care. (This is a small edit, but I meant to say whether you SUPPORT abortion or not. it is a real thing, and an on-going moral debate right now. There's been some good debate in the replies, but no mean-spirited comments are needed please. There's nothing intentionally malicious about what I said. We're all people who believe different things, tackling a very important issue. Bottom line is that Everyone deserves FAIR love and treatment. Period.)
Hey, just a minor thing about the way you phrased this. You said “believe in abortion”, and that implies that it is something that people choose to believe in, like Gods, or ghosts, or aliens. But abortion is very much real. What happens is that people choose whether or not they SUPPORT it.
i’m sorry the sponsor decided to not be featured and that the video was demonitized. it’s so important to educate people on their options and how their body works, thank you for being brave enough to share your story with us
People just don’t understand that abortions are sometimes essential to stay alive, without the baby going away the mother would also die. Its evil to let that happen :(
I was in Georgia when I had my miscarriage. That was when GA was saying that it would mean jail time for any woman that miscarried. I was so scared when my miscarriage started that i didnt go to the hospital. I stayed home and gave birth to my tiny 2 inch baby boy that definitely didnt develop correctly (his legs were together from his knees to his feet). I was alone and was in horrible pain. I barried him in a small box. I bleed for maybe 2 straight weeks. I thought i was going to die. Luckily, i went back home to kentucky a few months later and got checked out by my OBGYN and i had a complete miscarriage (meaning no tissue was left inside to rot and kill me). Most women are not as lucky, my body was able to expell all of my baby's tissue. I didnt need a D&C.
That sounds so wrong... I've heard an expert pro-life advocate say in a podcast that early delivery via induced labor is legitimate, you deserved to have had that option in Georgia's hospitals.
The same thing happened to me. I was in Utah. I was told not to come seek care unless I was “dying” and then they could help me. I bled for about 2 weeks too and was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have anything left behind.
I had an ectopic pregnancy rupture in 2017 and it was terribly traumatizing due to being dismissed by a doctor. I can’t even imagine the horror I would have experienced if it happened after they overturned Roe v Wade
Gosh, I’m a woman, and I’m so grateful to be in Canada where I can safely get uterine and reproductive care like this without the fear of being prosecuted. We are with you, all of you, and we pray that your government will come to its senses again. I’m so sorry this is happening. You deserve better.
I'm super doubtful it will. The US government is becoming more and more insane and radicalized. I surely hope that orange man doesnt get elected else we're all gonna be roylaly eff'd
I used to date a trans chick and she's go to PP for her HRT. One day, somebody screamed at her something along the lines of "think twice before murdering a baby!" Which pissed her off. She flipped them the bird and went to her scheduled appointment, but that shit lives in my head rent free. Kinda like how I got an Uber there and the Uber driver wouldn't shut up about supporting me and wanting to be a helpful hand during "my time in turmoil." My guy, I was there for an exam and renewal for my anti-baby pills, but thanks I guess. Planned Parenthood is just a national wide, low-cost genitalia clinic, it shouldn't be "brave" to get your business done there and it shouldn't be such a political statement to use or despise the existence of the building and accompanying services.
Crying rn thinking of those women in Texas who testified about how their babies were literally dying inside them and how they knew that the baby they were carrying was never going to have a life and how they couldnt let their baby die with dignity because some lawmaker wants to make Handmaid's Tale a reality.
@@aydenplaysthis Let's not forget about, how Illy herself mentioned in the video, many of these lawmakers activelly presure their mistress to get an abortion when they get pregnant. So it's just straight up hypocrisy. Laws for thee, but not for me.
Me neither. And I didn't know that lawmakers were willing to go such extreme and messed up lengths to prevent "abortion" even when it's NOT. This was really eye opening. Illy, you are very brave to tell us this. God bless you. I really hope you are doing better.
The real kicker is that in many places now, not only do unborn foetuses and dead bodies have more bodily rights than a uterus bearing person does, but so do mutated cancerous tumours since the person has no rights to remove them
@@norikofu509has anyone ever calmed down after you told them to "calm down"? life hack: people actually calm down if you listen to them and try to understand their view point.
as a catholic male, this is very eye opening. we're taught in schools about how all life is important and that abortion is a terrible thing and people should be shamed for it. but its rarely put into the perspective of the girl choosing that abortion, and that it is a shallow black and white "abortion=bad and doing it will condemn you to hell." thanks for being open and willing to share this experience, as i think people need to take a step back and evaluate what they are protesting for, and how the people they are protesting against feel.
As a christian myself, those moment you realise that you're living in a illusion because somethings your community has taught to you is wrong are not rare. Unfortunally, people are ignorant(not knowing of the other) and don't wanna seek the others part of the story, never knew what are the others argumment. I think you've heard of Plato, but re-read the Plato's cave and try to rethink even the most little prejudices and judments you have in your life, you see how Mattew 7 is not followed by anyone
That's cuz the people who support abortions tend to lump stuff like ovarian cysts and uterary tumors in with _actual living human babies_ !!! By God people, if you just made your definitions clear NONE of us would be arguing. My mom had three womb complications before I had to be born.
Remember, the Bible skipped over Bacteria, and Helicentrism and quantum physics for reason, it was never meant to be the end all be all, and people get that twisted a lot. It's important to learn how to love beyond its pages in order to become the person God actually wants you to be
I saw your community post about this video being demonetized. It's sad that the sponsors didn't want to support this video. Thank you Illy for uploading this, it'll help so many women and young girls out there. Myself included. You're helping more people than you realize.
Do we have a list of sponsors for illy’s videos so we can boycott them for not wanting to keep this video monetized? How cowardice that they’re fine with making money off of illy’s content, but not when it comes to “heavy” topics? I’m being serious, especially considering the video explained that she removed a tumor, not a fetus, yet her sponsors still think it’s not an appropriate topic? The sponsors are cowards is what they are :/ !
@@Danap-mykaykatthat's what I thought exactly. But knowing Illy, she won't expose what sponsor didn't want to support this video. Which I'll respect Illy's decision to not say who it is.
@@Danap-mykaykat As sad as it is, the sponsors don't want to take a side likely because both sides have some extremists, and the corporate people don't think it's worth the risk. It's a shame that they won't even look at the video (meaning they would never see the part where it's a tumor). It's pretty much the latter half of the video where Illy says lawmakers don't know shit about the laws they're passing. I have mixed feelings on having an abortion, because there's arguments that sound valid for both sides, and because I'm not a female I'll never experience the fear that Illy was going through in the video. However, I believe that in the event that it's the mother or the child, there should be an option for the mother to save themselves if they choose. If the fetus, or "fetus" in the case of the video, is literally killing the host, then the option should always exist to save yourself. Just, if the baby is grown enough, at least try to make it instant death (for it) and lower the rate of failed abortions.
i had an early term miscarriage and went through an abortion via pills because the tissue was borderline necrotic and could have killed me. my mil at the time judged me for getting the pills for it while still concerned about my health. it was horrible having her judge me while i was trying not to die even if she didnt intend to. top that on the fact i was devastated from learning i was not able to bring my child to term, it was an emotional nightmare. i had done everything in my ability to stay healthy and do the right things to protect the baby, but it wasnt meant to be. Roe v Wade protected all women who needed procedures like mine, but now that its overturned, many women will either be dying or getting back alley care that could lead to them dying anyways in states that make it illegal/inaccessible thru legitimate health care facilities. Thank you for sharing your story Illysa, hopefully with the sharing of stories more people will become aware of the dangers of this overturn
i know this is 7 months later so you might not care, but i'm happy that you're alive right now and i'm sorry that you had to go through such an emotional mess. much love
My cousin just had a baby, and it made me think of my childhood and about my own trauma(I was groomed by my older cousin) and how I could have had a child at 9 years old, it’s scary how people are so calm about how there 8 year old children could get pregnant and then they say “well you shouldn’t have let them get in your pants” like what the heck is wrong with you, they were to innocent to even know what they were forced to do
jesus christ I'm so sorry that happened to you. At that age it shouldn't even be _considered_ to put the fault on the child. A sexual encounter with someone below the age of consent as someone above the age of consent is rape, plain and simple. (Obviously there can be exceptions, I'm not gonna judge a 16-year-old for having sex with a 15-year-old as long as both parties actively wanted it, but I'm talking about encounters with age gaps that cannot be excused)
It's bad enough that these things happen, it's beyond heartbreaking that so many young people (and women in conservative communities esp) find so little compassion for their struggles as a survivor. I hope you get to spend some time with your new nibling (if that's something that's important to you) and that you get new opportunities to heal your inner child in all kinds of ways.
Anyone who so much as thinks of doing such terrible things to little girls seriously needs to get mental help, such a crime shouldn't exist in a civilized society... I could swear I once saw a trailer on TV as early as the late 2000s for a story about a 6 year old girl getting pregnant, though I have no idea how true it was. It goes without saying it shouldn't happen in the first place, but girls being able to get pregnant before they're teenagers is crazy and harder to believe the younger it happens... It just doesn't sound like it should be possible. Is it a side effect of excess estrogen coming from women using birth control getting into drinking water? I think it would do America some good if professional fertility doctors came together and published a high profile documentary explaining everything our top medical scientists know about reproductive health in the present day with zero political interference, including mentioning facts both Planned Parenthood and far right republicans wouldn't want people to know.
I'm so glad you shared this. My sister had multiple tumors, with a similar experience. She was harassed trying to get into the building that was checking her tumors with an ultrasound since the protesters thought she was getting an abortion, since she looked pregnant due to a tumor the size of a basketball. I'm glad you were able to get the tumors removed and that they were not cancerous as well. This video really helped show how horrible the laws are too. Thanks again, -Tea
Its so fucked that people hush this topic its one of the most important things with girls health so thank you illy for bringing attention to this topic and not hushing it like the others
fr. people treat periods as its some sexual thing. as if its taboo or some hush hush topic. periods are literally the least sexual thing about puberty 💀
@@Some1namedRin I think people think that is because it has to DO with the sexual organs. That might just be what I think that people might think about it.
Its crazy that most people making abortion illegal are old men in their 60s, who have no idea what it's like to go through pregnancy. It makes me question humanity.
I’ve really appreciated the recent videos on topics that aren’t talked about enough, like psychiatric wards and autism! So I’m really looking forward to watching this! Thanks Illy :D
Here in Australia we have "Safe Access Zones" outside of Abortion Clinics. This basically means that it is illegal to protest within 150m of an Abortion Clinic, or harass visitors to the clinic. These laws apply 24/7, 365. And it is fully illegal - if you protest outside a clinic they will call the police and you will get arrested! It's something that's really necessary that isn't talked about heaps, even in states in the USA where abortion is legal unfortunately :(
Yeah, I feel like here in the States if people tried to pass something like your Safe Access Zones into law, people would decry it as a "violation of free speech". It sucks here.
12:09 That happened to my Aunt. She had a miscarriage of a wanted baby, but the dead fetus didn't leave her body, so she had to go to an abortion clinic, or risk death. She had to walk past many protesters carrying pictures of dead fetuses, and calling her a murderer. Reminder, this was a *Wanted* child, she was there to "murder" a wanted child. Thankfully, they got it out in time, and she's alive today. But, what if she was in the wrong state, or it happened post roe. It's all really fucked up
I'm so sorry about your poor Aunt. It's bad enough that she had to deal with losing a baby she really wanted, but it's even more heartbreaking that she was dubbed a murderer, just because she needed a procedure that would save her after the miscarriage had failed to process naturally otherwise, she would die. Some people can be so cruel. I really hope your aunt is doing ok. ❤️
Same with my aunt. She and my uncle tried to have kids many, many, times. A few of those times she actually got pregnant. But not a single one was a success, and once or twice she had to get rid of the dead fetuses because her body couldn’t expel them. And the same thing happened with the protests. This was 7 years ago! I still remember once she actually got past the 12 week mark in pregnancy, I was quite little but she picked me up and told me that soon I was gonna have a baby cousin. Then I remember a few weeks later she was skinnier and she looked really sad. I understand what happened now. But the people still yelled at her. They called her a c*nt, w**re, and so many other names all because she lost another child that she wanted so badly. She and my uncle gave up soon after that, and it’s only brought us closer, but it makes me wonder why the people protesting think they know everything about every person who walks through those doors. I’m pro choice btw
It doesn't, u can look up the stautes of even the redest states in the union on their official websites, and even by legislation based definition Illy here did not have an abortion. This right here my dawg is click bait for brownie points
Yea, me niether. I thought law makers would be smarter than just putting down "anything remove from the uterus is an abortion, no matter what is being removed." but I guess not.
@@renegade_redfall26 Sooo you watched it to 11:14 and beyond? Looking up articles talking about miscarriage care... yeah, a dilation and curettage could be considered by an utter dumbass as an abortion in some states. Solely because the legislature writing the law... are dumbasses.
@@AJOlesenthe issue is that these lawmakers want to get rid of planned parenthood and places that provide these procedures, so by getting rid of planned parenthood, not only are they getting rid of safe abortion, they're getting rid of the tons of other resources, help and procedures that planned parenthood provides. Many of these abortion laws also want to arrest any doctors that provide abortions, so if the doctor that provided an abortion gets arrested, they won't be able to perform anything that isnt an abortion (which Illy briefly talked about in this video). Also, while this might not be terminating a pregnancy, the same procedure is used, which would make it fall under an abortion.
I had a relative who got r@ped and was pressured by her Christian Mother to keep the child because she "will murder the child by abortion" and abortion is not allowed in my country. She did keep the child against her own will, she then committed s*icide 2 Years later because she couldn't handle being a mother at 14 Years Old... Rest in Peace my best cousin Cassie❤ I still remember when we played so many board games back then😢
@@joshuaakintemi5396god if they could do that that would literally solve so many problems. Like instead of abortion you could just get the baby removed and put into someone else, or into an artificial womb. I hope that that is what ends the battle
My heart dropped every time I watched the news that related to abortions that women are dying, girls who is 13-17 are getting SA and can’t have a abortions cause of the laws, forced pregnancy to under age girls and grown women it’s so heartbreaking
This video is going to help so many people. I can only imagine how difficult it is to navigate a situation like this, so thank you for sharing your story!
Hi Robert! I watch your videos and I totally agree... it's just... hella depressing that Illy could be...gone... right now. I know you probably won't make a video about this because of the topic, but thanks for being here. (also, watch Alpharad because he looks EXACTLY like you with the pfp hairstyle)
This subject shouldn't be de-monetize but talked more publicly, so more people have knowledge to get medical help, it's so absurd that women are supposed to stay quiet about periods and uterus, and to endure pain quietly
thank you for this video. Reproductive health is so controversial (for no damn reason) but so important. I work in Healthcare and see these cases often. I am thankful to be in New York State so I can help my patients. But my heart BREAKS for the states that have restrictions. The fact that ppl see "abortions" or the D&C procedure as murder is ridiculous. This is why education is so so important. THANK YOU ILLY. This video make me so emotional and the workers in healthcare are fighting everyday for our patients.

7:15 “What other choice did I have” This can be the horrifying reality of people restricting and suppressing the rights of women and those with a uterus. It frightens me on a level nothing else does. Death and pain because people are uneducated and ignorant. I’m so happy you’re talking about this.
When she said what other choice did I have, it physically hurt hearing that because we are losing our right to have a reasonable choice with our own bodies. Nevermind if the lawmakers, politicians or protester are wrong, never mind if any of them are even women, they want to tell another person what we can and can't do with our bodies. That will never be okay.
For a country that's ever so patriotic about their liberty, freedom, and egalitarianism, they don't seem to be doing too great in that department. It's reactionary usually apolitical people who jump on policies they have no understanding of in an unrepresentative democracy.

@@HiImPaul62no one likes abortions and gets them for fun but sometimes they're necessary. If you really care about children you should care more about good sex education and contraceptives because they help against unwanted pregnancies and fight for better financial support for low income families. Some people cannot afford to have a child for whatever reason and even if they don't want to keep it in the end it still takes a toll on the body for nine months. Yes a fetus is technically alive but it couldn't sustain itself outside the mother's body and just like I couldn't force you to donate blood even if people are dying of blood loss you can't force someone to give up the right to decide what happens to their body. Abortions aren't nice or fun but unfortunately they're necessary, I hope you understand that
As a Christian, the anti abortion protesters mortify me. I am so sorry for all the so-called followers of Christ that scream in women's faces about abortions. While abortion is a last-resort thing for me, I would NEVER tell anyone what they could or could not do with their bodies. Especially since Planned Parenthood saved my mom's life when they found that she had cervical cancer. PP offers so many wonderful health services as well as affordable contraception, and I would love to see more clinics set up around the country.
I'm not Christian, but I can understand the feeling of knowing how wonderful it can be following a faith you treasure and how some people will twist and exacerbate ambiguous or questionable aspects of faith for the sake of cheap politics. I have met some of the most kindest and open minded individuals who love being Christian and take pride in it while appreciating diversity in human spirituality, values, goals and lifestyles. I am also sorry that you feel mortified. You have no need to claim them as a part of your community as they do not represent you. Peace and respect.

@tinyj4520 plenty of women in the military, same people who don't support abortion, are the same people who don't want women in the military. So if you want to blame anyone for the suffering of working class men, the best candidate to blame are the conservative politicians you lot so love.
Hey, OB/GYN in Texas here! Thank you for sharing your story and bringing awareness to how safe and necessary D&Cs are for a variety of reasons. The good news is we can still perform them in Texas for abnormal tissue in the uterus and to manage miscarriages even now that Roe v Wade has been overturned. We can still treat ectopic pregnancies too! It's frustrating that law makers have criminalized abortions (which people should have access to), but just wanted to provide some hope to people that we're still here doing what we can even in Texas
I had read a comment somewhere on Tiktok that a woman had found out she was pregnant while in therapy for cancer and in her state she would have to stop the treatment even if the baby might not make it anyways with her current health issue and she herself might die. That broke my heart and I think about it a lot, I’m so thankful I live in a place where abortion is considered a necessary medical treatment.
That is so fcked up. I will never understand anyone who supports this knowing that this is the kind of thing that will happen. Like this isn't a Sims game we are real people with real needs
I remember a decade ago, a girl in...I want to say the Dominican Republic (? could be getting the country wrong, idk what abortion laws there are/were like) had leukemia and was getting chemo for it. Then they found out she was pregnant, and stopped the chemo because it could potentially cause her to miscarry, which would legally be considered an abortion since it caused the end of the pregnancy. She died a slow, painful death from the leukemia because the treatment was withheld from her. And no, the baby was never born, she died while still pregnant. Fuck laws like this.
I remember going into planned parenthood to get birth control and I had to have my mother block people from me because they kept trying to yell at me. Thank god we have swans that volunteer to help people going in to get an abortion.
@@HiImPaul62everyone has different stories, and while I do feel sorry for your mother, it doesn't really help the fact that majority of women were forced to give birth to their kids. Some didn't even survive while giving birth to the baby, like my auntie. She passed away 3 years ago giving birth to my now 3 year old cousin. And she wasn't supposed to have kids, yet she had two. And my uncle became a single parent for those years Another one of my family members got pregnant but it wasn't her fault and no one was paying attention to her. What's worse is that she's not even in middle school yet As I said everyone's situation is different. I feel like abortion should just be left alone, it shouldn't be such a hot topic because most of the time it's really no ones business on who's aborting and who isn't Because it's their bodies and it should be their choice
Yeah, they have the same reaction as if the nazi party or some other genocide organization offered free healthcare and both things were financed by the taxes. That's insanity.
as a male, i had no idea an abortion could mean a removal of any sort, however i still disagreed with the abortion law, my mother raised me right so i absolutely hated the fact the us government is doing that, im glad i live in Canada though because there are no restrictions on abortions here, but fuck the us man.
Yeah its sad, even the removal of a miscarried fetus thats dead is considered an abortion. I once even saw a news tag of how a woman who had a miscarriage and their fetus was already dead the medical staff didnt want to do anything because a recent abortion law passed in the state that made the removal of her dead fetus illegal and I believe she got quite sick from it
Today I have my second appointment to discover if my ovarian cysts have grown smaller to decide whether I should get surgery or not. The fact you uploaded this exact video today means a lot to me as a young woman. Thank you for bringing awareness!!
I was already pro choice before watching this video but I have not been aware that just a medical procedure to remove anything from your uterus, fetus or not, could be considered an abortion. The fact that these governments are so ignorant about the fact that there are people out there with real medical problems that would really benefit from these surgeries and really try their best to stop them, is terrifying.
@@mischiefmelody I vote we not jump to thinking of this in absolutes... I can see how what people think of when they think "abortion" could be considered murder but "emptying the uterus for any reason" shouldn't be the legal definition of anything made illegal ever. because as this video points out that definition could still describe needing to remove anything from a uterus: cancer removal? BANNED! something that got stuck in there removal? BANNED! miscarriage and this little corpse will calcify (get covered in bone material as a protective measure by your body but the horrifying terror of a dead body inside you is still there) and it could slowly kill you but you need it removed so you don't DIE? BANNED! there's nothing "pro-life" about that.
I still remember when I was little and my aunt (who we're all 100% has anti social personality disorder and has done very awful things to me and my family) drove me around in her car and passed a planned parenthood where there were people outside protesting and shouting, she rolled the window down and stopped at the light there and as I watched she just told me that what those people were doing was good and they were right to do so. But even when I was small and didn't understand what was happening all I could see was that they were harassing people and that wasn't okay. Now I know what she was trying to do and I think it's so horrible. I will never agree with her and those people. Everyone should get those chose what to do with their bodies it shouldn't be a political thing. They don't care about us, they don't care about kids, they don't care about our broken systems. They care about power and money. There are no morals. And if you're wondering, yes she's an awful mother.
Im part of two groups. One of them is called Muslims Against Planned Parenthood, and the other is called Immigrants Against Planned Parenthood. What we do is that during the month of Ramadan, where we cant eat or drink anything, we stand outside of our local one (located in a city where over 65 percent of the population are immigrants or Muslims, so plenty of supporters), but their is one difference from the other protests. We are silent the whole time, we stand their quietly, for 8 hours, without uttering a single word. There have been multiple times where nurses have come out and told us to "go back to Taliban", times where patients would see us, and call us terrorists and bombers. One protester, a guy who escaped the Darfur genocide in Sudan, was seen by a 28 year old patient. She walked right up to him and punched him. She is in jail for assault. Police have ruled on our favor multiple times because we werent yelling anything, not screaming in peoples ears, just standing silently with signs. We have only done this for three years, but two in the St.Paul area have moved because of us, just because of some immigrants fasting holding signs outside. Its crazy
I agree. It’s a political opinion that everyone has a right to, but that doesn’t mean you choose what someone does to their body. Because when it comes down to it, no one cares about the kids that are actually here. What are people going to do about the ever growing numbers of children in foster care or orphanages? Nothing. But no, let’s eliminate an option so no one can care about women during gestation, postpartum, and medical care, and financial support, and also ignore kids in terrible homes where no one should have given birth. No one fights as hard for a thing that hasn’t even become a thought as one fights for the rights of kids that need to be heard.
@@limesandlemons1367 People who are against abortions and protest outside of """abortion""" clinics (clinics that essentially allow those to happen) thinks that any women entering in the clinic WANTS an abortion. Fun, true fact: I passed out for the first time in my life after watching this. That's hard-hitting journalism. Thank you for being willing to have the difficult conversations, it's crucial that they're digestible and accessible. Hope this helps you keep going ❤
I miss periods from stress often, when I was 20 I found out I was 13 weeks pregnant. I was walking 2 miles a day to work working over 40 hours a week . I made an appointment with planned parenthood and the protesters railed me verbally. Some even brought their children. Women were crying in the waiting room and scared to leave the waiting room. The amount of arrogance it takes to try to belittle someone for making their own health choices, is insane. Idk . We're really devolving
The fact that both yt demonetized this video and the planned sponsor step out cuz "delicate topics" is so sad This kind of story must be heard and spread, Thank you Illymation and team.
It's crazy how helpful abortion is when it doesn't particularly target removing a pregnancy. My mother had to get one because her (planned) pregnancy formed into a tumor, and she could have died if she didn't get it removed. That is exactly why abortion should not be banned. It saves lives more often than it "kills".
yep it's absolutely disgusting. But honestly a good chunk of the "pro-lifers" would be pro choice to an extent if they actually knew what procedures are considered abortions, but many of them would say fake news... so no reasoning there.
No they just value human life. part of pregnancy is dealing with the fetus growing inside of you. You then Have a responsibility to protect the life growing. This just comes with the consequences of getting pregnant.
People against abortion tend not to realize that the majority of abortions are either a) a situation like this or b) a miscarriage/complication of a pregnancy they wanted to keep. Banning abortion is primarily keeping it from people who need it to protect their lives, or people who are actively trying to have kids.
Pretty sure no state is banning abortion for a legitimate medical emergency. I have a problem when it’s actively killing a healthy human zygote. In the event of this, it’s not a zygote, and in a miscarriage, it’s already dead.
This is why I’m getting my tubes tied as soon as I possibly can. I’m terrified of not just having a child, but having to go through a situation where a small lump of tissues that doesn’t even feel or is sentient is valued more than my life
I don’t plan to have kids. I’m not in the right mental mind to care for a child. Plus I’m a aunt and I’m ok with that. Hopefully they won’t make tubes tying illegal. That be hypocritical since men can get a vasectomy with out any harassment
It's so sad this video ended up getting demonetized/not sponsored due to the "sensitive" topic. This was sincerely educational and is worth more than the 0 dollars (I'd imagine) you're getting from it. Why can't women's health be a "normal" topic?
Not trying to be a prude here, but they are getting superchats (willful donations). If you'd like to support them, you could do so by donating as well! :D
I wish I could give more in all honesty because I know UA-cam is going to take a percentage of this and it’s not for them, it’s for you, but as a poor uni student this is all I’m able to donate at the moment. I’m British so this topic isn’t something that is as much of a big concern to me medically, but when I was 9 I suffered a very similar situation. I bled constantly for a year with a two day break. It was absolutely traumatising and I spent so much time in hospital. This needs to be talked about more. I’ve seen your constant updates about how this video will be pushed aside by UA-cam and other sponsors due to the sensitivity. Which is wrong. People need to be able to speak freely without being squashed. Freedom of speech my behind. I love you Illy. Thank you, not only for this, but for everything you do. 💛
I really don't get why people are so hush hush about it, It's great knowledge to have and thinking it's too gross to teach people is "preschooler who cant say swears" type of dealio. Teenagers ESPECIALLY need to know, yet they do not, since they're going through it already. Bodily functions, people have killed themselves and others because they don't know jack diddly squat about periods, teach boys too. Ignorance is never bliss.
I've been to a planned parenthood once to get a pregnancy test and some advice because my partner and I had been struggling to conceive for months, I was in such denial from all the negative results and I was ecstatic about it. People need to stop automatically assuming that going to planned parenthood is just for abortions. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have known I was pregnant because I kept getting negatives on my tests. I didn't have morning sickness or anything until I was in my second trimester. A couple weeks after I found out I was pregnant, I thought that I was having a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. The pain was unbearable and I was bleeding so much. Went to the ER and found out I was just having a hemorrhage in my uterus. Thank God I was in Washington at the time of all this.
Exactly and they also provide basic medical care like birth control and other contraceptives for a more affordable price. They also offer services for men. It’s literally a place for basic medical care and these people act like it’s a drive through abortion merry go round. Like bro it’s planned parenthood for a reason
I went to Planned Parenthood to get my birth control pills on the wrong day and was verbally assaulted for about 20 minutes about “killing my baby” until I screamed at the men (yes, they were all men), “I’m not pregnant! I’m just fat, you idiots!” And then just laughed in their faces at their shock.
I had to go to get my birth control removed and replaced. All the other genealogical clinics couldn't see me until like 6 months out, yet they were ready for me a couple days later.
@@TRUMPWILLMAGAYou Pro-Lifers showed that it's actually about controlling other people's bodies when you started going after things like Birth Control and Transgender Surgeries.
When I read the title, I thought "Oh so she just wants to tell everyone about how dangerous it was to carry a child in you if it grows in the wrong place cuz it could kill her." But now we gotta worry bout Uterine and Cirvical cancer tumor removal being called ABORTIONS too?! Also I'm so happy you're okay honey I am more relieved to know you're doing okay!! 😢❤
Going to an abortion clinic in the conservative state I live in is disgusting. I wasnt even going for an abortion, I was there to support a friend who was lightheaded and needed someone to drive her. I got screamed at for being a murderer and a sl** and a wh***. But the worst thing I saw was a teenager who had clearly been crying alot getting harrassed. They called her an idiot, a wh***, a sl**, a b****. For making a mistake. Nobody yells at the boys. It takes two to tango. But no, it's only the women.
Thats literally a horror movie. Every single day i wake up and thank god over and over for not making me american. Im so so so so sorry for what your goverment is doing to your people
None of that is ok no one should be yelled at or insulted. I am always appalled at them. Just because I disagree and wish people reallt consider what it means to share their body with someone else doesnt mean I will ever in my life insult someone, harass them or call them names. That is most definitely not what I was taught
And on top of this, some of these women and raped! And they have to have that child?? The people who fought for our rights are probably frowning on what’s happening right now.
That's so awful. I cannot IMAGINE harassing a teenager at an abortion clinic. Obviously something has gone really wrong for her to be there. Isn't that enough?? Firstly, as Illy pointed out, many people go to "abortion clinics" for reasons other than abortion. Secondly, I'm pretty sure that it's a VERY TINY MINORITY of people who get an abortion flippantly. There are SO many people who feel forced into it, due to dangers to their own health or the health of the fetus, or knowing perfectly well that they are unable to care for the baby if they gave birth. And people who are like "just put it up for adoption!!" INFURIATE me. It's so fucking ignorant. Healthcare in the US is extremely expensive, including childbirth - lots of people can't afford the medical bills even if they aren't keeping the baby. Pregnancy is also EXTREMELY hard on the mother's body, sometimes with lifelong consequences, which again means medical bills that they might not be able to afford. And more than anything, the foster care system in the US is absolute trash, there are so many thousands of children who can't find homes (I keep hearing stories about foster kids having to sleep in offices and in CARS because the system is so overwhelmed and there's nowhere else to go). Many more foster kids are tremendously abused - statistically way more often than other children - and statistically adult foster children are much more likely to end up homeless or in prison. It's fucking awful. Why would you think that's somehow better for the child OR the parents?? I feel like so many pro-life people believe that people get abortions and "end a life" on a whim, and it's simply not true... for the vast, vast majority of cases, abortion is an absolutely crushing decision, one that the person lives with for the rest of their life, but they feel they have no choice. In some cases, they really do have no choice. And some people will be like "then just don't have sex!!!!!" Like abstinence-only education EVER works... we're human. Everyone makes mistakes. We shouldn't have to suffer lifelong consequences for making a mistake. Especially young people. And it's especially awful to inflict lifelong suffering on the potential child because their parent(s) made a mistake. I just don't understand.
It’s infuriating that a person can dictate another person’s life, while not UNDERSTANDING how their body works… Thank you for using your platform. Thank you for sharing your story. You’re amazing don’t forget that!
Children are literally being force to give birth to their rapist's children because of these stupid laws. They're not pro-life. They were never pro-life, this isn't about saving children, it's about controlling women.
This is why i'm moving away from texas as soon as I can, not having a abortion can be life-ending I can't imagine this happening to me because then I would have no choice. You are a very strong woman!
Can’t believe sponsors pulled out of this. Just shows you how greedy everyone is. Thank you for doing this. I know this isn’t much but I want to thank all of those from your team that contributed to this. It really hits on the point of what’s going on in America now and how stifled we are
@@connernelson8124 it’s not a baby? Also circumstances change, people care about a fetus but not the kid after it comes out of the womb. We can’t even survive in this economy let alone bringing a kid to the world.
@@michellechang5882 well if you want a better economy, don’t vote the man that ruined it, his names Joe Biden, and he’s the reason why we live in the poor economic crisis we do today. And I know in this video it wasn’t a baby, but when people talk about an actual abortion, they will be talking about the removal of the fetus. And if people don’t care about the kid after their born, then why am I alive, why are you? It’s because we had parents that cared about us and gave us life. Also, abortion should be a last resort, adoption is a great choice too, if you don’t want to be a mom. It’s pretty simple, and I find the people that see protesters that want to protect the unborn child, as controlling psychos, are ignorant. That’s my opinion.
Thank you for sharing this story, I'm currently 16 and could have easily become pregnant when I was 14 from my rapist. The topic of this usually makes me anxious, but it makes me feel more comforted by the fact I'm not alone.
A lot of us came from places of godamned GENOCIDE and ETHNIC CLEANSING. You people genuinely think you have it so hard. I had to escape from my home country of Eritrea because my father was is danger of being FUCKING KILLED BY THE GOVERNMENT. I'm not denying that America has problems, it really does. From college costing a couple millions while men slowly take over women's spaces and sports (I say this as a woman myself). This place has problems, but if you people think America sucks so much and you want to move away, I dare that you won't last a single fucking day in Eritrea. Good luck.
The fact you are telling this is exactly why I started to question if abortion is truly considered a sin in the Bible. Back then, I didn't think much of it. I just thought that people killed unborn babies was wrong in general and that it is considered murder according to God. My mom told me that back then, doctors would give people who choose to have an abortion take a pill which will cut the unborn baby's arms and let them die while still inside the womb. I thought that was pretty cruel but like I said, I wasn't very aware or involved in stuff like abortion. It was only a bit recently that I've realized the dark truth (or simply reasonable reason) as to why women would get abortion. It wasn't just women, it was also young girls who are victims to SA that causes them to get unwanted pregnancy and would be reccomended for them to get an abortion. I also learned other reasons on why women chose to get an abortion that made me reflect on the complexities of abortion. Finances. Health reason. Personal reasons. All of it. As a teenager who is now 18, it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable over the fact that I might get myself into a situation where I may need an abortion for whatever circumstances and have mobs of people harass and shame on me and other people despite not knowing the reason why or just thinks that it is immoral in general. It feels like body horror, as if a woman should not have absolute control of her body which is genuinely frightening and disturbing to hear. It was truly brave of you to share this and I genuinely hope that life is better now with you having better control and freedom of your life. I'm not sure if God may hate my actions for saying this, but God bless ❤
@@LuklioN44 The part about them being chopped up is horrible to say, as well as a blatant lie. I'm sure you know it now, but for anyone else reading this who doesn't, if the fetus is small enough all you need is a pill it will end up being like a heavy period. It will be tiny and the abortion doesn't tear it apart, it just disconnects all the tissue from the womb and the fetus comes out with it. As far as I'm aware it's unrecognizable from the other parts of the uterine lining. In the very rare cases where a larger fetus is aborted what happens depends on the country's standard. I know in at least someplaces in America they do actually cut the fetus up and the suck it out, which is horrific to me. In my country no matter what the reason if I late term abortion is done the person gives birth to it whole without anything causing it to die first. It is often still alive during birth and straight after, but slowly dies after birth. Almost every case of this in my country is due to untreatable defects that'd mean the baby would die anyway. Giving birth to the baby whole allows the birth parent to hug the baby as it dies and let the little life it have end being held. It seems much more humane. There was also a case recently near me where someone had a later abortion due to domestic violence and drug abuse. It was horrific, but also if she'd told her husband she was having a baby the baby would have been murdered. She wasn't able to leave him, if she'd given birth she wouldn't have been allowed to place it up for adoption, it basically would have trapped her to this man for the rest of her life. The only reason she didn't have an abortion earlier was she found out late and she'd needed to find time to get away from the husband. The whole thing was horrific and never should have happened, but it really sounds like it was the best thing for her and for that baby. That man shouldn't be having kids and even if she'd gotten away from him she was still a drug user. It's one of those things where even if that baby was a person and it was murder, I still think it was right.

The legal definition of an abortion is the ending of a fetus. So no you did not get an abortion. And in all red states an abortion is allowed if the life of a women is at risk. Secondly the percentage of women that get an abortion because their life is at stake are 10%. So what you’re saying cannot be further from the truth. And don’t say pro life don’t care about the actual living person because an abortion = killing a baby so I would say pro choice don’t care about the life of a living baby in the wound And yes we do care for the life of the baby and the women. But guess who doesn’t have any rights the baby. What is the value of a life to you? When do you think life begins?I answer you the second one conception
Don't we live in america? And life begins at conceptions which means you're literally killing a child. And the term fetus comes from Latin which means baby. How about you're just responsible with who you have sex with 😕
Same her video’s make me understand what women go thru and it’s very helpful for future life (example like if someone is going thru say a period I’ll know how to help them and comfort them)
As a women, that's all we ask. We don't want sympathy really, just understanding. I'm not in the US personally, but even here women's anatomy and health are stigmatized as "sexual" or "indecent". They don't teach about periods, much less this stuff, until it's way to late. Some girls can get them before they even hit 10 ffs. Sorry for the semi-rant, but it really is just refreshing and nice whenever a guy, regardless of if they're a friend, partner, family, whatever is willing to listen and help without being grossed out or viewing it as sexual.
My views were always against abortion but hearing this made me realise that i was just heavily misinformed and that i might actually be on the wrong side to this story. So i decided to chang my mind.
My sister had an abortion. The baby had no brain, the medulla was just flapping in fluid inside it's head. There was the tiniest, slimmest of chances that the baby would survive if born, but it would have been a vegetable hooked up to machines, would have been unable to grow, or do anything. Not to mention, the birthing process would have been incredibly difficult on my sister's body, due to the position the baby had grown in. There was a high chance she could have permanent damage, or even die, just to birth a baby that had a 99.99% chance of being still-born. So, she had an abortion. What kills me is that, because of the state I'm in, if she had been born just 25 years later, and had lived the same life, and had gotten the exact same pregnancy...she would have been denied that procedure. Just because of the state she lived in. Something a lot of "pro-life" people don't seem to understand is that this can be a lifesaving procedure, in so, so many ways. So, what they do, is they take away that choice, because of their own ignorance and refusal to even think about the possible consequences of their actions. I genuinely hope things turn around, and start getting better.

It varies from state to state in the USA, some consider this not an abortion since it is not a living child or will develop into one and still have abortion bans while others Texas, Florida. I’m huge on pro choice and I just wanna say that despite everything that has happened… I’m glad that you chose what you thought was best and I just hope that later on, law makers figure out that what they think is an abotion isn’t always the case, and that people put in your situation sometimes need to get the procedure to continue to live a nice and enjoyable life! I’m sorry if this was a lot… but I’ll end it by saying, illysa, you’re doing awesome and I want you to know that you aren’t fighting these battles alone. There’s always someone willing to stand next to you and help you fight.
Her admitting she was on birth control ever since the age of 15 was just powerful and that she was open enough to say it to the public. You have my utmost respect illy!..
...why...exactly? Lots of women and girls are on birth control, and start at a young age for many different reasons. When I was a teenager many girls I knew were on it and it wasn't because we were all sexually active. Get that stigma out of your head.
I've been on birth control for hormone related reasons since age 14, and people look at me differently when I tell them I'm on birth control if the topic comes up. It's very weird that it has such a stigma around it
what gets me about the whole abortion debate is that even if we consider fetuses to be people, that still doesn’t affect someone’s right to control what they do with their body. if a hospital called you to tell you that they had a sick patient in need of a blood transfusion and only your blood would work, they still have zero right to forcefully take blood from you. pregnancy makes permanent changes to the body, and it doesn’t matter if a grown ass adult was dependent on you - you still deserve utmost control over your body and what you put yourself through.
Exactly!! Even if you’re in the middle of getting the blood drawn, or about to go into surgery to give an organ away, you’re allowed to say no and back out.
@@Princes_Lunano, they don’t “deserve” it. But they also don’t get to forcibly use someone else’s body to keep themselves alive. What’s so hard for you to understand about that?

Hi!
I truly hope you feel better and have or will get through this
@@TimeIsShorterno you don’t, you aren’t human, quit pretending you are

I can guarantee they didn’t have a choice. Plan parenthood has to deal with harassment, hate campaigns, bomb threats, and more. While it sucks, it’s more a problem with the state of the country than the hospital
There's so many people with so many problems it's just that hard to get an appointment sometimes.

Hey, just a minor thing about the way you phrased this. You said “believe in abortion”, and that implies that it is something that people choose to believe in, like Gods, or ghosts, or aliens. But abortion is very much real. What happens is that people choose whether or not they SUPPORT it.

The same thing happened to me. I was in Utah. I was told not to come seek care unless I was “dying” and then they could help me. I bled for about 2 weeks too and was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have anything left behind.

Roe v Wade protected all women who needed procedures like mine, but now that its overturned, many women will either be dying or getting back alley care that could lead to them dying anyways in states that make it illegal/inaccessible thru legitimate health care facilities.

Anyone who so much as thinks of doing such terrible things to little girls seriously needs to get mental help, such a crime shouldn't exist in a civilized society...

Yes a fetus is technically alive but it couldn't sustain itself outside the mother's body and just like I couldn't force you to donate blood even if people are dying of blood loss you can't force someone to give up the right to decide what happens to their body.

It's crazy how helpful abortion is when it doesn't particularly target removing a pregnancy.
It’s infuriating that a person can dictate another person’s life, while not UNDERSTANDING how their body works…

And that’s all women want and need.

My views were always against abortion but hearing this made me realise that i was just heavily misinformed and that i might actually be on the wrong side to this story. So i decided to chang my mind.
same
That's nice to hear. Do you have any more questions?
Its crazy.
WHA- what are you even talking about ?

@@petrafabian9012 geez, that sounds terrible. If you can, try to go for other doctors until you find someone who will take you seriously - depending on the country it might also be possible to book a video call appointment so you don't have to leave the house, at least for an initial assessment. Perhaps there are also recommendations for more empathetic doctors by friends. I've been through something similar so I know it is terrifying to be anxious about whether this doctor will take you seriously this time or dismiss you as 'not looking sick', though if you can get through it you have a much better chance at treating whatever it is you have. I will say that I genuinely had no idea that the term Abortion was so broad, thank you for the knowledge.
It varies from state to state in the USA, some consider this not an abortion since it is not a living child or will develop into one and still have abortion bans while others Texas, Florida. Alabama, and Mississippi ban going outside the state for any kind of abortion should you need one to keep living or even visiting a planned parenthood even if you do. Florida is the worst state right now with teachers leaving and I hope that DeSanto's runs then gets blocked by a Democrat, or even a smarter Republican who is not a true Dictator, as if it were legal DeSanto's would have made it illegal to leave the state of Florida before all these bad laws were passed.
Then 2 of my Cousins who went to school there by parents choice went to a private school in the mid 2000 to 2020 and other 2023 for them because the public school systems in most of Florida outside of Miami's good district to live in Sucked even in 2000's nobody was learning in school, you basically only got taught to read well and write okay even back pre the DeSanto's mess of learning with even the math's being so far behind as well as all other subjects that use knowledge on purpose to try and keep people in Florida so it did not become a conservative retirement state full of those people only at the time.
My other Cousins who now live in Florida only do becuse their mom they do not really like is ban from State of Florida for some reason and mom is in Georgia now, so they can visit her on good weeks/months at times yet go home to a state she go ban from. The mom she is crazy, but they also hate dad Uncle I am related too as he drinks way too much.

what gets me about the whole abortion debate is that even if we consider fetuses to be people, that still doesn’t affect someone’s right to control what they do with their body.
if a hospital called you to tell you that they had a sick patient in need of a blood transfusion and only your blood would work, they still have zero right to forcefully take blood from you. pregnancy makes permanent changes to the body, and it doesn’t matter if a grown ass adult was dependent on you - you still deserve utmost control over your body and what you put yourself through.
