In my opinion, having that one ugly villager that you HATE is part of the animal crossing experience, my first campsite villager was HANS and I hated him, I decided too try and become friends with him, by writing letters and sending gifts, I sent him a 5k bell stereo, then my sister later found it IN THE TRASH, I still found that experience so amusing and funny too me lol
The idea of having a sapient gorilla as a neighbor is awesome. Him being passive-aggressive is not.
I love how slowly more and more people are coming back to animal crossing lately. Even I've come back after getting burned out similarly (3 years for me though oof).
I restarted my island in September! How funny, I've noticed this too.🤭
I was gone for exactly 2 years and 7 months 😭 (mostly because I lost my Nintendo switch but it was like finding gold when I found it a couple weeks ago)

Yea, biskit is somehow scarier than hopper (top tier penguin villager).
Illy reuniting with Biskit is the best and most satisfying romance story ever told.
my burnout started when i was running out of storage, there was so much stuff i could sell but I'm a hoarder, i was thinking "but what if I'm gonna need this stuff and then deeply regret it after i sold it" and then so many villagers kept giving me stuff so i just quit. i haven't played it in months and I'm scared to go back in fear of my villagers reaction
Ironically in New Horizons villagers only start asking to leave once they have a high friendship. I think they did this because in the old ones it was the opposite and new villagers would often be the first to leave making players unable to properly meet them. So by ignoring and harassing Hopper you made it as likely as possible that he would stay.
So many of us learned this the hard way 😭 I'm never going to forgive Nate for his months of peer pressure until I gave in an talked to him regularly 😤

I feel this. 3 years I’ve struggled with this game. But I just discovered treasure islands, and it’s a game changer. I finally can have an island that will make me happy without the struggle and burnout.

the funny thing about biskit is that he was one of the villagers i chose to move in with the nook miles tickets, and i didn’t care about him at first but i slowly started to love him, and now seeing that one of my favorite youtubers shares a favorite animal crossing villager with me is just amazing
After watching this, this make me wanna play Animal Crossing again. I was in a huge burnout and I never manage to make my island how I wanted. This is definitely a boost

Here's a tip for the future. Wait with using youre good Amiibo's (like Biskit) until youre at the max of 10 villagers if you wanna get rid of a villager that you don't like. This way you won't only get the villager but you can also choose who's gonna be replaced 🙂.

Illy I just wanna say how much i ENJOY your references in your videos. Like I've watched a lot of your videos multiple times and I always realize something new. Like for example, I binged Mob Psycho 100 for the first time last week and got really into it and today I was rewatching some of your videos and noticed some references I had never noticed before! Whether it be amphibia or Saiki K everytime I consume a new anime or cartoon I always seem to find it pop up in your vids and its the most enjoyable thing EVER please never stop.

Hearing illy say they time travel honestly makes me feel so much better because whenever I do I feel as if it’s wrong
I love time-traveling. Once I found out about it, I was hesitant at first (and a little scared), but once I did it, I couldn't stop. I do it all the time.
Let's be truthfully honest, I'm not waiting one day, in real-life for a plot to be filled, or a plot to be moved. That's just plain ludicrous.
And, if anyone has a problem with time-traveling, they can just talk to the hand because it's not cheating. I don't know why people, nowadays, love to ruin shit for other people.

If it makes you feel any better, there is absolutely no way that biskkt could have been on your island. Every villager that spawns on your in the start has to either sisterly or sporty

Aww, I love Hopper! He looks a little scary, but he’s actually so sweet! He reminds me of a grandpa, which inspired me to get Dobie on my island as well. And now, they have their own corner of the island that I’ve decorated and affectionately dubbed “the retirement community” where they can be grandpas in peace. 😂☺️💛
I love Hopper, maybe I’m biased because I grew up in a place where there were literally no other children and I spent my days hanging out with the old guys, but he’s just great.
I'd say some of my favorite "ugly" villagers would be Rodney, jitters, Cobb and Matilda to name a few

I understand this fully lol I recently got a switch and started playing Animal Crossing. I definitely time jump if necessary and will go to the occasional treasure island, but I don’t stock up on money or go crazy on hybrid flowers. The daily or so log in and grind is what I enjoy most
Huge Nintendo fan and I love animal crossing so this video was very funny, hilarious, and entertaining.
I definitely understand the feelings of burnout. I honestly feel like this game gave me too much control. Because knowing I could make the perfect island and seeing everyone online do it, made me tackle it like a project. And it almost became like work to me. Or maybe my mindset has just shifted over the years. Because when I played new leaf as a kid I didn’t feel this way. Either way, this game is definitely odd in how stressed it can make you when it’s supposed to be relaxing.
Great video though! I love your animation style and you always make these stories interesting.
i feel that it was because new leaf and the previous games focused more on the villagers than building the town. Adding decoration was much more difficult, so building just one fountain felt like a huge accomplishment. Honestly, New Horizons might've been a lot less fatiguing if they combined new leaf's construction mechanic with the crafting mechanic.

I relate to this so much, but for me it was, I scrambled through to get K.K to sing at my island and then once the rubble cleared my island was a mess, I had done nothing that I actually had wanted to do. Now I'm just taking it easy street and finally cleaning up my island...and restoring half of the islands tree population because call me American cause I deforested almost all of my island. i got into animal crossing really young, and i’m still kind of a kid now, but i remember how i immediately came out of my animal crossing new leaf burnout as soon as new horizons was released. i ended up getting it for my birthday since it was only 2 days after, and i played for a good year before i went into a big burnout because i couldn’t find anything else to work on (specifically after i finally got tia and aurora since they’ve always been apart of every town i’ve had). after my friends told me that they finally picked the game up, i finally got more motivation to start playing again! i stole my brother’s lite (which he never used) and did the same thing you did - i still play on it today, it really helps getting a fresh start ❤️

Just a heads up for the future if you want to kick out an existing villager. If your island is full, you can use an amiibo card to bring in a new villager and kick out an old one. After you gift the amiibo 3 times, they'll say they want to move in, but will notice your island is full. Then, they'll ask you if there's anyone in particular you think is wanting to leave and you can choose from there.
I feel you so hard when you still loved Biscuit all the way from Wild World to New Horizons. I had the same childhood except for the villager. My favorite villager to this day is Freckles. I think that I got attached to her catchphrase “ducky” but really I have no idea how I got attached to her. I’m just glad to see someone with the same experiences that I had with different villagers. Keep up the good work.

This video inspired me to go back onto my island and work on it with a specific theme in mind. I love the DLC and decorating vacation homes, but my island itself is plain. So, I'm going to work on my island one section at a time 😁

I got burnout. I think what got me was when I first got terraforming. I went and just did my own thing…then I started looking at Pinterest and UA-cam and some of the amazing islands and it made my island feel rubbish. I ended up terraforming the whole island again twice. I kinda got it to a good place but still felt it was inadequate. I poured so many hours in and just got burnout and it no longer became fun.
I might come back to it. Tempted to restart but then losing all my DIY recipes and catalogue puts me off the idea as I don’t think I’d stay the course now. Perhaps at some point get a 2nd switch and another copy to mess about on
