County Clerk DISRESPECTS Journalist For Peacefully Exercising His Rights! Police Threaten Arrest!

- Fellow Patriots & Freedom lovers, On April 7th 2022 I was peacefully exercising my 1st Amendment rights in the city of Lexington, Kentucky. While I was taking some pictures & videos in the publicly accessible areas, I was approach by the county clerk Don Blevins. Mr. Blevins hated the fact the that I was peacefully exercising my rights in HIS building and followed me around harassing me and treating me with the upmost disrespect. He even called Lexington PD to remove me from the public building and denied me my open records request. I was told to leave the building or I would have my freedom taken from me. I will NOT let this go! I will do everything I can to hold him and the city accountable! The County Clerk is an elected position and I hope the residents of Fayetteville County vote him out of office! He doesn’t deserve to serve the public after what the behavior and contempt for the public he exhibited! I just got back from the County Clerk's Office, I was in and out in about 5 minutes and had no problem picking up an open records request form. Don Blevins lied to you. I notice the rules on the form states that you must be a resident to request information, so if you have any problems getting open records as a non-resident, I volunteer to submit your requests with my information.
I also asked for a complaint form and was told they did not have a form for that but I could write one up and submit it.
I also went to the police dept to get an officer complaint form.I was first told they didn't have any. Then the lady got on the phone, came back and told me I could do it online. I rejected that suggestion, and the suggestion that I could do it at the library. After first being told they could not print one out, I asserted there had to be a way I could pick one up in person and she begrudgingly printed one out for me.
Next I'll be giving Don Blevins a call to express my grievances with his behavior.

I believe that it is unlawful for the county to limit open records requests to residents. These are public records and any member of the public is entitled to see them without an excessive charge for copying.
County Clerk needs to be removed from office.

To refuse services to someone because they are holding a camera, keeping in mind that almost everyone has a camera in their pocket these days, is discrimination and utter foolishness. This County Clerk is an embarrassment to his county and state.
I hope mr. Blevins lost the county clerk job. He was so disrespectful. He does not deserve that position. Completely Disgraceful!
They let him retire, the cowards, after many calls and complaints he ran and hid at his house.

In times of war soldiers defend our constitution. In times of peace no one seems to really care about it. As a veteran I truly appreciate this man for standing up to domestic tyrants. It was part of my oath. All enemies foreign and domestic. I'm glad some citizens like this man stand up for our rights so we can rest.

Since it got taken down I’ll say it again. I was the guy in the background who was giving Sean the thumbs up. I was highly disappointed in the way they treated him and after conducting my business they told me I had to leave as well. I will be emailing the Police Chief with my concerns of how my children have begun to question their own fathers career in law enforcement, when they see the actions of uneducated fascist police like we see on his Dept. And I'll ask if this behavior by his officers is a standard that he himself promotes. I should not have to hear my children are ashamed of my chosen profession, because of officers like this. Its disgusting and disheartening.

I’m from Lexington Ky. And I’m ashamed of don blevins and these police officers. I’ve called the Lexington police and talked to a women. I told her how embarrassed I was and she replied that she was also embarrassed. I have to call the chief of police tomorrow because he was gone for the night. I’m going to talk with Mr Blevins ( county clerk commissioner) tomorrow to ask him if he talks to all citizens this way. You know by addressing them as assholes.

He tells someone to call 911 as if there is an emergency. Does he not understand the difference between an emergency and something he finds unpleasant?
At 12:40 when the officer says "they have the right to ask you to leave" you should've immediately requested a supervisor and explained that the difference between a public and private property, and that he just lied and has proven he doesn't understand the difference which is why you need a supervisor to come and correct him. Instead, I can see this is about to go south.

@jay jay that's why I said it should've happened at the beginning. Sean did not ask until much further down the line. It was clear to me 2min into the interaction that this officer was never going to honor his oath.
At the end the officer attempts to say "no, you left on your own accord" but he clearly said "you have two options, leave or be arrested". The attempt at the end is proof that he understands how bad that was and wants to try to change what happened.

I've always been so proud of my old kentucky home and I'm a wildcat at heart but today I am embarrassed I am ashamed of the behavior of our public servants over the past week of kentucky videos. I've never been more ashamed to be a wildcat than I am now

As you may or may not know I go around the country filming elevators. I went in this facility earlier this month. Once I realized where I was, Me and my friend just had to follow in your footsteps. We went around the building and nobody bothered us. As a matter of fact an employee saw us filming and gave us a thumbs up which unfortunately I don't think I caught on my camera. Sean I must say I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. I will post a link to the video once I post it later today in another comment. YOU are making America a better place! The most disgraceful act a police officer can do is roll his eyes when you explain to them that what you're doing is a protected constitutional right? what they're really saying is I don't care about your rights.
🤔 When that cop said that you left on your own accord at the end, he was essentially saying that your rights aren't violated unless you're actually arrested. Threat of arrest, on it's face, to him, is not a violation of your civil rights and he seems quite confident of that.

His rights weren't violated.....The cop explained that the clerk asked you to leave and that is all it takes to be trespassed. These idiots with cameras know that and that is why they leave.....

I love the transparency that we get from these audits. It's amazing seeing how our tax dollars are spent paying people who aren't educated and professional at what they do. I do not want my tax dollars funding these kind of peoples

I've always said imagine how bad it is , with what we see in the open imagine what we don't see. Things as simple as say Ink cartridges for example. We all know how expensive they are and I'd bet my cobra that nobody in any State or County office gives a crap about waste . I bet taxpayers pay tens of millions in waste of paper and ink alone.

And while it applies to anyone or any journalist I would think yhe clerk is unwise to pick on one with a quater of a million subscribers and to assume that people threathen to sue but don't. He really should zip it and do some research and he would be aware LIA has several ongoing cases and has just recently had false arrests thrown out of court which cleared the way for his civil suits. It may take two years but LIA follows through and takes cases.

That County Clerk also has a very aggressive temper too! At the beginning as he went to slam a door before his threat of calling cops that Staff Member had run thru the door so he wouldn't hit her with it, the face he made afterwards would've made me leave, he was verbally threatening too. What an ashhole.

Sean usually does really well, but when the clerk told him to not go in there, Sean let the guy punk him out. I can’t believe he just stood in the doorway. He’s gotta quit letting these ppl push him around. Sometimes he doesn’t put up with it. But other times he lets them bully him. I don’t get it?

Police dispatcher failed in her duties to school the caller on 1st Amendment Rights. Caller needs to be fined for misusing 911 emergency system on a frivolous call.
