Not giving their name when you request it is just a way to be a bully, rude and it's controlling. I think police should be given 3 written reprimands (like many of us are allowed) for not doing it and then be reprimanded without pay for 15 days. If it keeps on they should be fired.
Why should they be given 3 strikes?!?!? Their position and the fact they are a public employee holds them to a higher standard. That lawyer is an embarrassment to the bar...hes incredibly confused!! He couldn't even explain public forum restrictions correctly! Government buildings are a public place BUT they are considered a non-public forum. Being that this building is not a traditional public forum they have the right to enforce reasonable "time, place, and manner" restrictions on our first amendment rights. They can RESTRICT filming but the CANNOT ban or prohibit filming! For example, a courthouse can prevent you from filming in the courtrooms but they cannot prohibit you from filming in publicly accessible lobbies or the parking lot, that would be "unreasonable". Prohibiting filming inside courtrooms or other restricted areas is considered a reasonable "place restriction". A courthouse can prevent you from entering the building and filming in the lobby after closing hours (time restrictions). A courthouse can prevent you from filming with huge cameras, or excessive camera equipment with loud speakers, that might disrupt courthouse operations (manner restrictions). Generally, if you are filming in publicly accessible area's in a way that is not interfering with the normal operations of the business, no "time, place, and manner" restrictions would be considered "reasonable". I encourage everyone to research the issues surrounding traditional public forums, designated public forums, and non-public forums.
He is experiencing loss of authority for the first time and it is unnerving him. I imagine he is difficult to work for.. Why do our public servants hire such people??

The “if you can read it you can record it” guy, whatever the fuck that means, he didn’t violate your right clearly. The disdain and clear contempt he had however is very telling. I wonder how he behaves when cameras aren’t rolling.
He would assault you if the camera was not rolling and say 'if it wasn't recorded there was no assault'. And he would say That to a judge. Qualified immunity is like a superpower!
LIA should also request his salary and any complaints against him. Should see what the LEO'S policy for identifying is, then put in a complaint on him. What an arrogant condescending JERK he is!!!!
Thank you 1st Amendment auditor: "I was looking for a reason to get paid for doing nothing the last 1 hour of my day. I live off your taxes and you made it easy to look like I was doing something when I did nothing - absolutely nothing.
Everytime a person says you don't have their permission to be recorded, ask where SPECIFICALLY did they learn that from and push it. In my 50yrs of life I've NEVER heard of that.
it's the movies and the tv that gives the false sense of the law to the public. Cuz is movies, the definition of creepy is 9 out of 10 times a dude with a camera .. lol
That "permission" expression came about when the gov't and banks and businesses announced the nationwide installation of surveillance cameras. Here we are!!
Bless that custodian's heart. He's the only one, head down, doing his job. Why is it so hard for people to understand the difference between public and private employment?
I’m a year late lol, but yeah what a champ he didn’t say a word to anybody or take sides he was just happy to have something to watch while he worked 😂
I feel the supervisor guy was not rude, just uninformed, however the other guy was stroppy. He should have stopped the employee filming though. As usual LIA is polite and gets his point across without hostility or insults.
This is a good take on the interaction. Bow tie guy was trying hard to be restrained and polite, but yes, he was woefully ignorant. But mission accomplished here by LIA, he got educated. Smug dick head lawyer got his ass handed to him.
Get out of the public sector if you don't want ot be recorded. There's no expectation of privacy in public. Why are there so many public servants ignorant of the laws?
The LOUD complaining people are the source of disturbance and should be ticketed/arrested accordingly. Your rights are not inferior and you should not be held accountable to a higher standard than anyone else. These officers exercised poor judgement and should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, as they do to others.

One of the best auditors I've had the pleasure of watching.. Great work. Fantastic banter with the people. No preaching, no threats, just calm, intelligent discourse, and that is both scary and incomprehensible to many "public servants".
Right. Someone should figure out the email addresses to the judges in the area and send them that clip. I’m sure they’d be thrilled to have that officer in their courtroom.
Love your demeanor during the whole process you're definitely one of my favorite auditors and rising to the very top fast. May God bless and protect you brother. Always looking forward to you posting new videos.
He might want to look up the definition of "disruptive". What he really means is distracted. If "his employees" 🙄 are so easily distracted then perhaps they should be taking Ritalin or Adderall
Based on Google search it means "to prevent something from continuing or operating in a normal way." I would call that some a-hole taking up space and time inside a small government waiting room just to film people who don't want to be film working. Let's not mention the customers who have business to do there who would not what the business to become public at this point. Just because you believe we don't have the Right to Privacy in public, most of us give that Right to others. We walk away if someone is talking about someone else we may or may not know. We turn our heads when someone is putting their pin number into an ATM keypad. We understand that filming a dead body and live streaming it to UA-cam is wrong too. I've seen auditors do things like this all the time and they call it news. It's called being an A-Hole, "a stupid, irritating, or contemptible person." Another Google definition, not my, in my world it also means a person with no moral or ethical compass, in other words an 1st Amendment Auditor.

Not giving their name when you request it is just a way to be a bully, rude and it's controlling. I think police should be given 3 written reprimands (like many of us are allowed) for not doing it and then be reprimanded without pay for 15 days. If it keeps on they should be fired.
Good start..
Why should they be given 3 strikes?!?!? Their position and the fact they are a public employee holds them to a higher standard.
"The cockyness of the 1st officer saying, yep, that's what he would say (if you can see it you can read it) to the judge if asked for his name and badge number, tells his mindset and attitude...

Police are allowed to k ll you they should be held to a much higher standard
I personally think police officers should get fired and charge for violating people's constitutional rights, but however I'm shocked at these police officers upheld the constitution of rights even though that one was pretty rude.

The public servants likes the constitutional rights when it benefits them, but they don't like the constitutional rights when benefits you
