Fudgemuppet: dragon born is a highly prestigious title The npc of Skyrim: “You want something from me?!” “I’m not afraid of you, even if you are my elder” “You’re new around here, so don’t get in my bad side if you know what’s good for you” “Do you get to the cloud district often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don’t” “Citizen” “Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll?” Etc lol
By the end of Skyrim, the Dragonborn has potentially pledged themselves to fifteen different Daedric princes, possibly also Sithis, certainly Akatosh, and is potentially a werewolf and a vampire. Theory: They're "the Last Dragonborn" because all those forces will be so busy arguing with one another about who gets the Dragonborn's soul that they'll never actually die, and will remain the immortal God-Emperor of all Tamriel. Also...wow, you guys really hate the Empire, don't you??
You’re leaving out the fact the Dragonborn, having a dragons soul, also shares their ability to absorb the souls of other dragons once they are slain. Given the amount of dragons you kill throughout the game it’s easy to say those Daedra would be rewarded with one of the many dragon souls the DB has and not their individual soul, which ol would go onto Aetherius and eventually back to nirn since the Dragonborn is Ysmir
The Empire 4E is a shell with a rotting carcass inside. Of course we hate the Empire. They should have fought on just like the Redguards did. The Redguards managing to push back the Thalmor despite peace with the Empire is clear indication that the Emperor signed the concordat, with losing conditions to spare his own life and his fathers ascent to the throne. The concordat led to the Redguards seceding due to being betrayed by the Empire and to the civil war in Skyrim. Where is all the indignation of that "rebellion"
Imagine him showing up to the capital on the back of a dragon with several dozen flying overhead when he makes his claim. Not exactly something you could refuse from either a political or military standpoint.
@@D00MKNUCKLE just got a cool story idea. Dragonborn is inserted into asoiaf with Paarthurnax, Odahviing, and Durnahviir. Proceeds to have much sex with Dany and create a BIG GODDAMN EMPIRE. ye, i like.
The dragons of asoiaf are just animals, while TES dragons are semidivime beings. I doubt the Dragonborn would care about Dany either way. He might just end up pulling a Tibby Septum by having her put out of the way... permanently.
I’d much rather be high king of Skyrim than emperor of Tamriel. However I can imagine that there would be a lot of people who would rally behind the idea of another Dragonborn emperor.
@@tzimiscelord8483 yeh and this way like many emporers if our time he is both high King of skyrim and emporer of tamriel the problem would be with his death (we are assuming he is male and a nord btw) if his heir is nord this I fine but after a few generations the line between nord and imperial blur and this could lead to another civil war with skyrim wanting to be ruled by a nord.
Let's see, high king of a frozen rock? Or EMPEROR of an Entire vast continent? Idk man seems like a better deal for a cushy life in the white gold tower rather than solitude.
A while ago I heard someone theorise that The Last Dragon Born isn't exactly the last. The theory said that they are considered the last because the world was meant to end. So if they failed then it they woulld be the last, but they didn't. Time goes on past the point it was meant to stop. leaving a potential for more. This been said, they aren't needed anymore. Another way you could view it is that the Last Dragon Born was the last Needed Dragon Born.
From a game design POV, I could see Bethesda using that as the ironclad basis for not including Dragonborn powers in subsequent iterations of TES. For many players (including this one) Skyrim is their first, and possibly only, experience of TES. Not having the ability to shout in a new game would feel... weird. Best to have a reason to belie those expectations. ='[.]'=
@@Raycheetah I honestly didn't use any shouts at all in my first playthrough lol. Except in the tutorials. I dunno the button was in a weird location on that laptop back then. It was only MUCH later that I used it once in a while. I dunno it made the game too easy.
@@Raycheetah There are no reasons not to include voice commands into magic system alongside hand movements. No one said that they have to be the Voice. In fact custom spells from previous games usually are far more powerfull then Voice. A few order of magnitude more powerfull.
Im more interested in what happens to the world after skyrim. The world was *meant* to end as it had countless times before. I would wonder what happens to the world now that it hasnt. My theory would be rapid entropy. Ive seen story lines before in othet works where people destined to die that dont, meet with even worse fates than their original. Would the world of elder scrolls now start getting much, much worse until it ends in an uglier way?
It's funny that i only saw this video now and in the suggested videos thumbnail i can see this very idea as a fully fledged video: ua-cam.com/video/meqQgfkb-wE/v-deo.html
Think of the dragonborn's achievements in totality. Killing the emperor or eliminating the dark brotherhood, War hero (stormcloaks or empire), blessing of Nocturnal's luck (as well as leader of the thieves guild), harbinger of the companions, wealthy property owner and thane in every hold, slayer of Alduin , Harkon, Miraak, Countless Dragons, Undead and Bandits, member of the Morrowind Great House of Telvanni, helped the wealthy East Empire Company , killed Windhelm's version of Jack the Ripper, has the artifacts of almost every Daedric Prince, can craft any potion armor or weapon, has influence with either the powerful Volkihar vampires or key member of the Dawnguard, Arch-mage of the college of winterhold (and earned the respect of the Psijic monks in the process, helped the Blades rebuild, and not to mention knows every shout, spell, enchanting technique possible, as well as having helped various characters throughout the game from the menial task to the heroic. Th question isn't whether or not the Dragonborn is fit to be Emperor but WHO COULD POSSIBLY BE A BETTER CANNIDATE?!!!
Well, anyone who has some amount of political knowledge and experience would be better. But given how you became the archmage of Winterhold and the leaders of the Compansions...
Here's how I see it: Assume the mantle of Dragonborn, defeat Alduin, unite Skyrim, Claim a hold as a Jarl (one of the ones who you would have defeated during the civil war.), use your status as Dragonborn to sway the opinion of the moot, become high king or queen, don't get assassinated by the Aldmeri Dominion, Allow the dark brotherhood to kill the current Emperor, vie for control of the empire as a Dragonborn Emporer, unite the empire, fight back the Aldmeri Dominion, win.
And let’s say your race matters I mean imagine if the dragon born is a High elf and or Orc or Breton he’ll what if they were Argonian how would that play into it
"Last Dragonborn" can also mean the latest one or the last one to appear. It doesn't necessarily mean the "Final" one. Also if the Dragonborn is turned into a vampire lord by Serana, a daughter of Coldharbour, he is guaranteed to live forever and be even more powerful and will easily conquer all of Tamriel....until he grows bored of the mundane life of Emperors and secludes himself like Harkon did.
the fun thing about dragonborn taking molag's curse is one, it would be incredibly hard for him to venture due to vampires being killed by the sun(this is according to lore, in the game you dont die because of balancing issues) and two if and when he would be killed because skyrim doesnt exactly put up with human cattle farms, his soul would be subject to molag bal's pleasure
Our character would probably get bored of being an immortal dragonborn emperor and simply achieve CHIM, achieve amaranth, and screw off to another multiverse of possibility 😂
Dragonborn: **Assassinates current emporer in dark brotherhood quest, takes his clothes and wears them, then charges into the imperial city with an army of dragons and nords** "I'm the captain now." I don't think they can really say no tbh lmao
Dragonborn could declare the emperor as a illegitimate ruler and use his status to claim his legitimacy. And start a coups d'état. Would be good dlc. He could even say it was his divine right to rule.
Except that canonical fact that the dragonborn isn't a douchebag usually. In the case of miraak another one is able to cleanse the world of his tyranny.
@@Trismixify why do you say that as if you made some kind of point? If you played the brotherhood storyline you would understand how stupid you just made yourself seem...
I'd imagine anyone could be Emperor if they set their minds on it, but a dragonborn would certainly find the task to be much easier thanks to their inherent power and legitimacy.
The dragonborn becoming emperor makes so much sense. Especially when you take the dark brotherhood questline into acount and consider how much it would make the Thalmore squirm.
@@WookieGroundZero not just fear. But also jealousy. I mean Tiber Septum was able to ascend to the rank of divine without much issue while the high elves have to work their butts off to get their. So when the last dragonborn shows up. It would make sense they would go to unreal lengths to prevent history from repeating itself. Though as any player of skyrim would know. Killing the last dragonborn is easier said then done. Would probably have an easier time trying to fight one of the Daedric Princes to the death. Or trying to make Sherogorath sane.
@@yashkarkhanis5324 I think he meant specifically Odahviing and Durnehviir, the two dragons the Dragonborn specifically knows how to summon in the game. Yes other dragons could likely be cowed by the dragon born using Bend Will, but we know these two dragon specifically for sure willingly serve the Dragonborn as allies, and honestly you done need much more than the two of them. Besides maybe Paarthurnax (who is also an ally of the Dragonborn) they are the two most powerful dragons in existence.
That's what I'm thinking. The Dragon Born comes riding in on a Dragon into the White Gold Tower.....with a couple more Dragons in tow. But even with the Bend Will shout alone would work.
If Paarthurnax will back him he could bring a small army of dragons to the table, and a small army of dragons, led by a particularly powerful Dragonborn, is easily worth at least 1 large army of men and mer.
I’ve always had this feeling that the last Dragonborn’s purpose isn’t necessarily to defeat Alduin but rather to keep the current kalpa cycle going, it just so happened that making him the Dragonborn would be best suited for the first big bad(s) you face. The only evidence of this is the events of both dlc
@@timyuusis3372 It’s likely the Dragonborn is actually there to end the world. You return Alduin’s soul, the soul of the destroyer to akatosh. But despite being destined to be the destroyer and having the soul for this task alduin was never a destroyer, he wanted power and control. The Dragonborn has defeated 3 antagonists that seek control.
@@stevefilms1997 I think Akatosh will choose a new World Eater. He denied the Last Dragonborn access to Alduin's soul, since it would grant the Last Dragonborn the potential to become the World Eater, and Akatosh either hasn't decided who will take up that role, is waiting for us to die to turn us into an actual dragon in the afterlife to one day send back out in Alduin's place (unlikely, given the Last Dragonborn is implied to be a Shezzarine), or Akatosh has a different candidate in mind. Personally I think Paarthurnax is going to become the World Eater. By founding the Way of the Voice, he has proven that he has already overcome the same lust for power that drove Alduin to neglect his role. And sure, the Dragonborn can choose to kill Paarthurnax. But when the Dragonborn dies, Akatosh may be able to reclaim Paarthurnax's mind and soul from the Dragonborn.
@@Odysseus0000 idk it doesn't seem acceptable for them to make him the emperor but considering the thalmor might bend to his will because they're from the same race might be even better
I think the dragonborn becoming a vampire lord is canon because he is shown as a vampire on the Dawnguard DLC cover rather then dressed in the dawnguard uniform. It would be really dumb for the last dragonborn to allow himself to die of old age after all.
@@Stormvermin-bx1lh It's neither confirmed nor not that Dragonborn became a vampire or not. You have to remember that there multiple choices in game quests like the civil war quest. So while destroying Harkon with auriel bow is canon. Or Dragonborn being a nord in lore is canon whether or not Dragonborn became a vampire probably won't be.Think of it as the same situation as the Dragonborn killing the emporer or not. It all depends in your Headcanon.
There is no proof he is god, however akatosh has many reincarnations and avatars that are usually dragonborn, martin septim being one example, and i think talos too, so its very possible, although he's no demigod, because in the skyrim universe god's and daedra are the physical manifestations of an idea, mentality or concept, so they physically can not have children
If you look at this from a game development standpoint, it would be difficult to write that the PC becomes the emperor due to how hard it is to make lore around a customizable character.
They can make a canonical version and just let the players have theirs. Honestly while most players like the lore of the elder scrolls universe alot if people just like having their own story. So it wouldn't be hard per say, just hard to make a good one that doesn't contradict already established lore.
They could easily deal with this though. Same way they've delt with it in the pass. The Nerevarine was Dark Elf by default but defined by player choice in the wiki. It's not game breaking and often times they just refer to that person as the Nerevarine same would be true for the Dragonborn Emperor. He's just the "Last Dragonborn Emperor" They can refer to him/her by title vs ever referring to them by specific name/race etc. Super easy and honestly with how loose they wrote some of the characters of history's lore like Tiber Septim who is the most famous yet least known in some respects. So totally doable with TES writting style imo. You mean to tell me the most famous man in all of history who conquered all coast to coast no a single person can 110% without doubt claim to know his actual race. There are opinions and the such but its all speculation and conjecture at the end of the day so if that can "pass" the PC becoming Emp is totally doable at the very least they should've became high king via themselves grabbing it OR at least allowing us to marry Elisif. After the story concludes in the Skyrim playthrough the lore could state that person went on (The High King AND Queen of Skyrim went on to reunify the empire or Strengthen it;however you would want to word it. And go on to fight the Dominion OR the next great war against the Akavir.) So whether you are man or female, marry Elisif as a male or female, or take it for yourself regardless and have your own wife/husband depending what the player picked. It still would fit in with that wording "The High King and Queen of Skyrim went on to do XYZ. Then onward to Emperor and Empress" bam. Never once mentioning their personal names or races. Because lets face it at the end of the day our character in skyrim WILL be refered to in canon lore as "The Last Dragonborn" never name, race, or gender so could paint it however you want. OR they will do it like the Nerevarine... "Nord by default; defined by player choice" lmao
I stop listening after hearing the phrase “made love to a hill and died in the process” I had to process this information and the images in my mind that it conjures.

The Dragonborn is definitely a contender for the throne, just think about it. The Emperor dies in the Dark Brotherhood time line, and the throne is cleared for the Dragonborn. Also, either result of the civil war could possibly still result in the Dragonborn’s ascension to power, though the imperial one seems far more realistic.
I'm a bit late, but I'm not sure the dark brotherhood quest line is canon. I think it's likely given the amount of content, but there's still always the destruction of the dark brotherhood happening too. Or they might somehow avoid the death of the emperor some other way.
@@pauloh.alchaar I don't think it would be that easy, depending on how the Skyrim civil war actually played out and the Aldmeri Dominion is not going to sit back and watch. @@MichaelClark-uw7ex Neither the Dragonborn lol. You will have all the shouts and some Dragons by your side. Humanity will join him if Titus Mede is dead.
The Dragon Born would have a more politically advantageous route if he would turn his power against the Thalmor first. Defeating the foe that the empire was never able to and eventually bowed to. This would gather support even within the current Empire.
Screw the Imperial Empire! I will throw that away and create the Tamerialic Republic! Create a pact across all provinces while cyrodiil will be the center of control like the Elder Council! We need like the Ebonheart Pact! That's the 4th Era needs!
Not really when comparing Skyrim prior to the Third age then you cant say they benifited from being in the empire.. the exact opposite actually. Because where are the great warrior kings? Where are the jarls rulling capital sized city? Nowhere.. All you see in these Empire supported jarls that they are incompetent and redicilously corrupt All of Skyrim is collapsing because of the Empire.. Bureaucracy and politics is not and never has being the nords strongest side
Perhaps a federal tamrielic republic would be more advantageous, similar in structure to the greatest nation of all time, good ole U S of A. Down with the kings, long live the people!
Rogelio Rivera Imagine a scene from inside of the Thalmor’s main keep. Ear pressed up to the door he hears hushed whispers and then Fus....Ro...Dah! As he is sent flying backwards, the gate door torn from its hinges as they both fall still before the remaining thalmor higher ups.
Short answer: Yes Long answer: Yes, because people still remember the Septim dyntasty and how the Empire flourished during that time and would want a return to that. Plus, considering it'll most likely be canon that Titus Mede II got a new external wind-pipe carved into his throat by the Dark Brotherhood, the Empire is going to need a new ruler.
Short answer : No. Long answer : No, because Septim Dynasty was over a long time ago, only in Skyrim who still remember Septim Dynasty because Nords worships Tiber Septim, not the Dragonborn. And also, an Imperial Dragonborn join the Dark Brotherhood is very very unlikely. Firstly, why would Dovahkiin try to kill Titus Mede II ? He has no intention to kill the guy except one, he's a Stormcloaks and two, for money and the Dark Brotherhood glory. Assuming he's an Imperial soldier, he would cripple the Empire even more since the Empire lost it's ruler and he can't be the next emperor unless he start a coup d'etat, do you know how Monarchy works ? They aren't going to put him on the throne just because they lost an emperor and you're a Dragonborn. The Dragonborn Empire was over, period. Unless the Mede Dynasty is dead like Septim Dynasty, then he might get a chance to be the new emperor (still very unlikely), or he start a coup d'etat. Even then, do you really think the Thalmors would let that happen ? They must have saw how powerful the Last Dragonborn really was. They might even finish the job before he finish his coup d'etat or even starting it. And don't even get started about "What about Stormcloaks Dragonborn ?" Hahaha, do you really think the Stormcloaks could defeat the Empire without the Dragonborn and the Thalmors intervention ? The reason why the Empire has troubled with the Stormcloaks was because of the Thalmors supported them in the shadow, giving them equipments, war funds etc. The longer it take to stop the Stormcloaks, the more Thalmors gain.
If Dovahkiin side with the Stormcloaks, the Empire would be in critical state (as if it's already) and Ulfric Stormcloaks will be the High King of Skyrim. If Ulfric want to advance to Cyrodiil and other parts of Tamriel, they're going to the real war with the Empire and the Thalmors. And also, no other races will join the Stormcloaks, hell, they're not going to accept any unless they're Nord. Other races except the Khajiits might join the Empire but not the Stormcloaks. So basically, if somehow the Stormcloaks has become the new empire, Ulfric will become it's first emperor, no chance for Dovahkiin, LOL. In conclusion, NO. The Last Dragonborn can't be an emperor, period.
Ohh LanLa This Is Literally the dumbest reasoning i’ve ever actually heard. What in the Actual Fuck Do The Stormcloaks have to do With the Septim Dynasty? The Dragonborn Is A person with the soul of a dragon, dragons come from Akatosh, and many Dragons refer to Akatosh as ‘Father’. The Dragonborn Himself is a A Divine being, albeit Demigod or full blown God, he is Divine. The Mede Dynasty Is highly unpopular in the Empire, nobody likes them for fucking shit, Titus just got his ass kicked and called it a victory in the Great War. The Septim Dynasty Was Highly Successful, they were popular, No Imperial would everr forget the Dragonblood Emperors, they literally brought the Glory Days. The Dragonborn Has A Divine Right To Rule, And That Outweighs Ulfric and Elisif’s Claims For The Throne. In The World Of The Elder Scrolls, religion is not about Faith, It’s An Actual Thing, the Gods and Daedra are real, and they can unleash real blessings or curses that can change the tide of Tamriel and Nirn entirely. Ulfric Has no chance against the Dragonborn even if he Killed Torygg fairly or not. Elisif would have to let go her race for Skyrim’s throne, and Leave Torygg as a memory, Because If The Claim Of The Dragonborn Is Divine, then it’s the strongest claim ever, No Sentient Being, could refuse the Gods Themselves. The Dragonborn Could Become High King Of Skyrim. And Seeing As He Saved The World, Thrice i might add, he’s the leader of every guild. The People Of Skyrim Would See him as A Powerful Warrior King, Talos Reincarnate. Talos Is One Of The Most revered gods by the Nords. And If They Find The Dragonborn worthy, then his claim would be immensely strong. If The Dragonborn was to go for the Ruby Throne, He’d Have The Support Of Skyrim instantly. And If He Succeeds, The Dragonborn can name anyone he wants as High King or Queen of Skyrim. And The People will accept that without hesitation. Finally, Should The Dragonborn Become The New Dragonblood Emperor. He Would Have Massive Support From The People Of Cyrodiil and Skyrim, which in turn could influence Hammerfell to rejoin the Empire. Why? Because The Dragonborn Has Proven to be An Extraordinary Hero, Those Dragons that choose not to follow the way of the voice, Can Choose to Serve the Dragonborn and unleash their desire to dominate over the Elves. Effectively Bending The Dragons to his will. Slowly but surley, Provinces like Morrowind or Black Marsh could potentially rejoin the Empire, Out of Fear of the new power, or they want in on the Hype. As A New Dragonborn Emperor, The Last Dragonborn would remind Tamriel and It’s provinces of tbe Glory days of the Empire, A Strong Ruler and a Strong Empire, the people would be so Hyped up to fight. The Nords would literally revere him as Talos reincarnated. The Last Dragonborn Becoming Emperor= New God Emperor Of The Tamrielic Empire and the Fall of The Aldmeri Domninion and The Thalmor, Watch the fuck out Akavir ur next.
Headass Hitlerous Ugh, you want me to go thru your wall of text, no, disgusting. Next time put a “TL:DR” alright ? Sum it up at the end if it’s too long or keep it short.
I actually tried to overthrow the Empire after finishing the war. I went from hold to hold defeating all of the guards and fighting the Jarl and knocking them down. Got a very high bounty from it
I’ve asked this before but people always told me “Oh the Amulet of Kings is gone therefore there’s no reason for there to be Dragonborn emperors” but that doesn’t really erase the Divine right that the Dragonborn has. In a society like Tamriel, are you really going to overlook the legitimacy of one with the soul of a Dragon and the blessing of the God of the Empire? As far as people are concerned, the Last Dragonborn is the latest heir of Alessia. (Edit: Video made a good point) (Another Edit: I have a feeling people are looking at this through the eyes of modern agnostics. People in Tamriel basically know the Gods are real, they answer prayers, a divine dragon literally saved Tamriel from a God of Destruction. They’re not gonna roll their eyes at the Dragonborn claiming divine right like how we would if a Habsburg claimed divine right for the throne of Austria. Unlike a Habsburg, the Dragonborn literally has divine power that he can display. Plus, I doubt the average peasant will think about the Dragonfires considering even at the start of Oblivion Baurus mentions a common misconception was that the Dragon crown was the symbol of the Empire and the most treasured jewelry of the royal family)
@Viktor Samoja 1. Considering it was the reign of the late-Septim Emperors which directly resulted in the near-collapse of the Empire, this idea that ''Dragonborn = good ruler'' is rather baseless. 2. There is a new heir to the throne, pretty much confirmed by merely talking to Motierre. There won't be a war of succession.
@Viktor Samoja 1. That is how most people would see it. Titus Mede is the only reason why there's still an Empire to this day. 2. Except that it does. Motierre aims to pull off a Pelagius Septim 2.0 when he kills Mede. After the death of Pelagius, there wasn't a succession war.
@Alika Fifi arafiah I'm not sure that he's t"the most succesful dragon born," given that Tiber septim acheived CHIM, and mantled Lorkahn to become a god. He has certainly been successful, but maybe not *that* sucessful, at very least not yet.
The phrasing "the Last of X" is *very* common for protagonists in fantasy, and it *very* often means "the last remaining one at their specific point in time" - who then restarts the tradition. Eragon is "the last Dragon Rider", Aang is "the last airbender" (although his world had to wait for his son to actually restart that tradition), and so on. The prophecy might easily refer to "the Last Dragonborn" in a similar sense.
That's a good point but in the video it is mentioned that without the amulet of kings and with no pact with akatosh to keep then there is no reason for a dragonborn line of emperors since the end of the third Era. The protagonist of skyrim was made dragonborn by akatosh only because of the events of the game, not because he should be emperor. If akatosh wanted a dragonborn emperor he would have given the mede emperorsdragon blood as we know its not actually required to have a blood relation to alessia.
@@moretestmorebreast7654, I agree. The need for a Dragonborn seems to be linked to times of crises in Tamriel. There is no further need for a Dragonborn emperor, but Akatosh bestows the gift of dovah sos and dovah sul upon you, the player character, because you are needed to confront Alduin. If you fail, you are indeed the *last* Dragonborn. But who is to say that at some point in the future, another Dragonborn might not be needed to confront a new crisis facing Tamriel?
The Nerevarine is dragon-born though as we know from the Lost Prophecy: "From seventh sign of eleventh generation, Neither Hound nor Guar, nor Seed nor Harrow, But Dragon-born and far-star-marked, Outlander Incarnate beneath Red Mountain, Blessed Guest counters seven curses, Star-blessed hand wields thrice-cursed blade, To reap the harvest of the unmourned house." Ultimately speaking, the idea of dragon-born is divine right to rule, and this can even be seen with the rise of the Nerevarine who had united the tribes and houses of Morrowind as well.
The phrase "dragon-born" in the Nerevarine prophecy likely refers to the fact that they come from a territory ruled by the Septim Empire, whose symbol is that of the dragon. AFAIK, there is nothing in TES III Morrowind that leads us to believe that the PC is Dragonborn (possessing blood and soul of a dragon).
'But Dragon-born and far-star-marked' - could easily mean marked by the Dragonborn (Uriel Septim) and far star (Azura). Don't forget that in Morrowind you are a prisoner chosen by Uriel to go to Morrowind based on certain signs in the Elder scrolls.
@@HHLucifer666 No. In Elder Scrolls Adventures Redguard - which takes place during Tiber Septim's life - there's a bit that says this: "Make no mistake, Talos (now Tiber Septim in resplendant Cyrodilic) is still on the ascendant. I now believe the oracles have been badly misinterpreted - Septim may indeed be the *Dragonborn* as foretold. The Mer must unite at last or be consumed one by one."
So while the protagonist of Skyrim is called the “last Dragonborn” by prophecy. In Skyrim you learn that it is also part of prophecy and nature for alduin to eat the world and by you defeating him you have broken the prophecies and upset the natural order by preserving your Kalpa. Due to this there could very well be future Dragonborn as anything past the events of Skyrim is not supposed to happen in the first place.

I think the Dragonborn well could become the emperor, and even though I personally think that "The Last Dragonborn" only applies in the context that the world was supposed to end, and that's why he was titled as the last, even if his dynasty didn't inherit the dragon blood, they _would_ inherit the prestige of being descended from a dragonborn, which would legitimise their claim to the throne.
If the courts of medieval times are anything to go by there's a single recently widowed Jarl in Solitude that could help the Dragonborn in a political sense via a marraige. I doubt Ulfric's supporters could kick up a fuss with their limited numbers if you followed the Empire route. And you would be Ulfric's champion in the stormcloak route and as stated in the vid the Dragonborn would be pretty much Talos reborn in Ulfric's eyes. You get support from Ulfric and Elisif and you pretty much are the ruler of Skyrim. I doubt Sybille Stentor would even try to mess with the Dragonborn and her skill in manipulation could come in handy. The Dragonborn's offspring have dragonborn blood and noble blood from Elisif so the dynasty will have very strong claims in future. It 'sa lot easeir for the other provinces to follow a landed ruler claiming to be emperor with dominion over a province vs escaped convict hero. Being a Hero doesn't mean you can be an effective ruler TL;DR too much Crusader Kings 2 strats
Well, he did spend most of the video explaining how being Dragonborn isn't necessarily hereditary or genetic, but a marriage to Elisif would definitely be beneficial either way
@nathan smith She is still Jarl of Solitude even if you side with the Stormcloaks, and she relied heavily on the Empire and had many contacts with them and others around them that could prove useful, and if you side with the Empire and try to become high king that way she ends up as high queen of Skyrim, that's a fair amount of power to marry into if like in scenario you're literally starting from being an escaped convict.
If your obvilion character becomes sheagorath after the events of the games Bethesda could set up something like this reveling a backstory to the character maby being in distant lineage to the semptims

The last Dragonborn becoming the Emperor, maybe this was the reason why the current Emperor had been chosen for Assassination through the Dark Brotherhood. After all signing that peace treaty would have gained him a lot of enemies and a new Dragonborn showing up perhaps gave them a reason and an opportunity to get rid of the Emperor.
@@royalty843 I don't know really, but Im guessing the theory is that Titus mede II upset his elder counsel on purpose so they plan to kill him cuz he thinks he's an incompetent ruler and wants to be replaced.
What none of you factored in is that Kynareth doesn't like when her blessing bestowed on men, the dragon tongue, is misused for conquering. She gave this power to the nords to defend their home, and she took it away when they used it to conquer. The same even happened to Tiber Septim, when his throat was slit by an assassin, making hum unable to shout. But in the dragonborn case, taking back imperial land from the thalmor could be interpreted as defending not conquering. Either way, dragonborn would be the most interesting emperor for tes6.
Also the whole "dragonborn emperor" thing was a pact Akatosh made with Alessia. A pact that Martin Septim broke and replaced at the end of the 3rd Era.
I was thinking, in Akaviri there are some races who respect dragons, it would be realy cool ( and crazy) if the dragonborn could become king of akaviri and king of the dragons
I'm very late for this but the dragons lost the trust of men when the blades went on a dragon crusade. The reason why the dragonborn just can't side with the dragons against alduin
The Dark Brotherhood quest-line would fit in completely with The Dragonborn becoming emperor of the classic Empire, or starting a new one, due to the death of the current emperor by your hands. Not only as The Dragonborn does he/she have the prestige seen in the public eye, but also the shadow influence of the Thieves' Guild and The Dark Brotherhood to support his/her ascent to power. As the game is written, by siding with The Stormcloaks, defeating The Empire, weakening The Dominion and depriving them of access to The College of Winterhold, being the chosen champion of all of the Daedra, and an agent of The Divines who restored their pantheon to it's full glory of the nine, The Dragonborn was written to become a Demigod Emperor with the backing of man and god alike, free to forge a new empire, or conquer the existing one.
i would still join the empire after the dark brotherhood questline, i just need to keep the fact that i killed that totally not a body double for the emperor or real emperor but already has an heir chosen and Victoria Vicci under lock and key, i already have a sort of "rightful authority" to rule from being a dragonborn
“Could the Dragonborn become Emperor?” Yes. The answer is definitively yes. Why? Who the @#$& is going to stop them? I mean just being the Dragonborn means they’re a borderline god by the end of the game, but they could also have the backing of the Mages guild, Theives guild, Dark Brotherhood and the Imperials or Stormcloaks. With that backing the Dragonborn could take Skyrim whenever they wanted with ease and from there who in Nirn could stop them? They could just Jabberwock the Empire into submission if they wanted.
I mean, unless the gods intervene,or any of the other possible demi-god characters come by,like the hero of Kvatch(?) And the guy you play as in Morrowwind
@@lordofshades9852 Hero of Kvatch ain't demi-god, dude. He's a Daedric Prince of Madness. And the Last Dragonborn is basically a demi god, at this point. He's the most strongest Dragonborn has ever lived, second is Miraak.
I don’t know if this has been said already but shooting for High King of Skyrim might be a better tactical choice. Taking over the Empire would be costly and give the Thalmor time to gather strength, however becoming the High King especially if you get it with Imperial backing, opens the option of a stronger united front against the elves
could be easier to over throw Jarl Eliself than Ulfric. Eliself seems like a oblivious puppet ruler. she doesnt even know she has a vampire in her court.
That theoretical scenario Fudge suggested at the end from Thalmor point of view: Thalmor messenger: "Bad News, the Stormcloacks won. Civil war is over." Leader: "Its fine!" I don't know why Bethesda doesn't give players that “Rags to Riches” Story Archetype. For some who is Destined to Take on such Suicidal and Perilous Tasks, surely the Player would be Rewarded by becoming an Emperor or a High Ranking Politician with Power, and even adding in a Secondary Storyline where the Player can do those Sorts of Quests, regarding their Rule or Political Standing. Not to mention that the Player can Order Soldiers, Servants, etc to complete Tasks or Quests or the Player can do those themselves. I don't think that Players feel Fulfilled because they are not Rewarded Properly. The Player just feels like a Pawn, just to be Used or Sacrificed by NPCs and they don't even get the Recognition that they Deserve.
Yeah literally all you can do in Skyrim is become leaders of random guilds and become a low ranking general you’d think that someone that leads all these guilds, runs the college of winterhold as Archmage, being the thane of every hold in Skyrim, and literally won the civil war for either side would be much more powerful politically. Even with saving the world running every guild, running the college, being a high ranking officer or general, you can’t even be in charge of a small village; and that doesn’t include the doesens of times you’ve saved the world from anything from vampire overlords to a dragon unkillable in the mortal realm who is literally called, “THE WORLD EATER” You’d expect being that powerful would give you the right to at the very least become a Jarl of a hold especially after single handedly winning the civil war. You’d also expect that the Thalmor would attempt to recruit, kidnap or assassinate you seeing how much a threat you are to them.
That wouldn't make any sense, nobody would just be crowned emperor because they were brave and saved many lives, this isnt a fucking fairy tale, political positions arent just given away cause youre strong, you have to have to be a bit smart "Lets make this imcompent guy who knows nothing about ruling an empire emperor because hes strong" Not even greek heroes in mythology get rewarded most of the time
two words: "lazy writing". Okay, to be fair, marketing and management pushing the devs to burp out the game at an arbitrary date rather than when it was finished was why the story has so many missing elements, cut content, and poorly-closed story arcs, but in the end it boils down to someone somewhere choosing to throw quality out the window for one shortsighted reason or another. Or, as a lot of the modding community puts it, Bethesda throws out a half-finished game and then modding tools so we can do their job for them :P
@Phillip II of France i guess , but my point still stands, if you want to have a more logical world the dragonborn shouldnt become king or emperor. Him not getting rewarded anything other than a "thank you" is quite dumb however. Give me something, a castle with servants, money, anything.
@@MindForgedManacle Didn’t Talos Mantle Shor and take his place as a Divine? Wouldn’t us becoming a renowned figure of either Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion be the Last Dragonborn Mantling Talos?
@@Davidofthelost He took Shor's place in the mythic as the hero-god of humans, he didn't become Shor via mantling. Shor (whether as Shor, Shezarr Lorkhan, Sep and so on) is still a known god. If Talos had mantled Shor himself, no one would know there was a difference between the 2. The Last Dragonborn hasn't yet done anything Talos did besides being given the title Ysmir, there's no mantling going on for TLD from 1 action alone. Mantling isn't just becoming renowned, you have to become virtually indistinguishable from the being in question in a form of extreme imitation. Otherwise every dragonborne would be Talos, and that definitely isn't true. But really, we can be more confident TLD is an incarnation of Shor because they can sit in the throne of Shor in Sovngarde. As we saw in Oblivion, it's impossible to sit in a god or Daedra's throne unless you are that being or have mantled that being and become them. As a Shezarrine, TLD of course would face no obstacle sitting in the throne.
@@MindForgedManacle But does mantling require the divine or Daedra to willingly be mantled in the first place? Or can one Mantle them and forcibly take their position and powers to replace them? As in the Shivering Isles DLC we mantled Sheogorath, but he was looking for someone to Mantle him and release him from the insanity to return to being jyggalag. Even then we see Sheogorath just about the same in Skyrim so was the Champion of Cyrodiil’s mind taken over by Sheogorath’s personality and they are now locked away forced to watch the Mad God doing whatever he feels like as the fart of a fly? So then by your theory are we being allowed to mantle Shor to restore the worship of a God of Humanity to Tamriel? And would it still be us as the ones who mantled just a new body to host that god?
Ah yes, the three genders: male, female, and cat. Edit: I was making fun of the beginning of the video, where he says "Why him? Or why her? Or why that specific khajiit?"
I have been wanting to do EXACTLY this since I first played Skyrim. Even if one sided with the Empire in the civil war, there still would be opportunities available to put the Dovakhin on the throne. It would have been the best ending.
I think it's possible for more dragonborns, considering that you can't devour Alduin's soul, so it could be possible for him(Alduin) to come back. So you would think a dragonborn would come to exist again, Or at least I would think so.
In my headcanon my dragonborn is an imperial, who descends from a secret bastard child between Martin Septim and the Hero of Kvatch, who was an Imperial woman (since those are the gender and race I played as in oblivion).
@@nunuhermansyah7562 I said that the dragonborn would be a descendant of their child, so it doesn't really matter how much time passes between oblivion and Skyrim
I believe Skyrim's main character is referred to as "the last dragonborn" because he is the one to kill the dragons for good, because with alduin gone, they won't be resurrected anymore. Some dragonborns didn't slay any dragons according to the whiterun fan guard, meaning that the dragonblood, gift of akatosh is simply an innate power given to those destined to accomplish great deeds?
Conceptually the easiest way to become Emperor is to get adopted by Titus Mede II. (Possibly General Tullius might play a role in arranging this.) This make you heir to the throne and can help you get the armies you need to conquer some of the provinces that aren't part of the Empire.
vatsku realyTM yeah but that’s just because he’s limited by mechanics. Like fusrahdah isn’t as powerful as ulfrics who can pretty much 1shot you even though canonically yours is much stronger.
Rylon Harmon and when you convert your skills to legendary and level infinitely, it’s child’s play. I was able to level my Dragonborn’s level to 125 before using the alchemy glitch to go up to 175. By then, the setting had to be on legendary for anything to be a remote challenge.
I doubt that the LDB is really the "last" Dragonborn. Alduin isn't truly defeated and could potentially come back, so the need for a new Dragonborn may arise.
In-game they theorize that Alduin isn’t truly dead so he can come back to fulfill his purpose as the world eater. Whether that’s true or not is up for debate but I think it makes sense
@@thespellchecker9123 No, the LDB can talk Paarthurnax and Arngeir and there is a dialogue that starts by the player admitting they didn't absorb Alduins soul. The first Emperor, Talos was a dragonborn, and the PC of skyrim is the first dragonborn hundreds of years, so it makes sense that you should be able to crown yourself as High King and it always annoyed me that the game gives no option to do this, unless you count mods.
In my play throughs I’d support the stormcloaks and put ulfric on the throne, my head canon is that I’d immediately challenge him like he challenged torygg and rule Skyrim myself, try to strike up an alliance with the empire to defeat the aldmeri dominion by using the mind control shout to control dragons as the living weapons of mass destruction, then play politics and somehow bull crap my way onto the the imperial throne by going on about how I’m Tiber septum reborn, I like to think it’s so crazy there’s no way it could fail XD
It’s actually a pretty solid game plan, Ulfric won’t have the choice to decline your challenge because that’s his whole claim to the throne and when you win the stormcloacks won’t go against you either for the same reason and honestly with the empire as weakened as it is they might make you emperor just the military benefits of it.
@@stressedeggs gotta bust out the uno reverse card on ulfric lol, honestly tho the Dragonborn has the legitimately strongest claim the both Skyrim and the empire, we literally have the potential to control the entire world by the endgame, the empire would gladly accept us as their leader as long as we keep the death of the old emperor quite,
wouldn't even need to bring up Tiber septum, that dragon army and dragon born's personal strenght is enough to end the world even harder than Alduin could
Bro you could just straight up use your Geass(Bend Will) to the emperor and tell them to "Acknowledge me as Emperor" then they will be like "All hail Dovahkiin"
Distortion Reaper There’s also the possibility that the Last Dragonborn will simply be the last to die, not the last to be born or even have the last Dragonborn bloodline
I understand what you mean by last for example Martin Septim is technically the last dragon born during Oblivion till Skyrim where you come to exist than you are the last dragon born it's not like the title first dragon born because your the first no one can take that from you as long it is remembered you hold the title. But I guess the problem is the prophecy saying last dragon born, but than again the divides could just say fuck it and make another dragon born 😂
In the case of my dragonborn there is also the aspect of having a legion of dragons at my beck and call thanks to me keeping Parthanax, having Oddahving loyal to me, freeing the sole of an undead dragon, and the use of the bend will shout on hostile dragons. Even had the peace treaty ending (albeit it not being the true end of the war).
You guys want an emperor DB than consider this. DB marries Elisif and puts Ulfric as HK than does what the Septims did because they were smart, marry their kid to the King of Skyrim’s kid. The Nords are literally, if you look at TES history, the key to building human empires considering they have been at the back of every empire of man, hell they even had empires of their own and helped Alessia and her little slave rebellion that wouldn’t have succeeded if the Nords weren’t so hell bent on destroying elves that were turning humans into slaves. So to back on track, DB recruits the Nords without bloodshed forcing the imperial legionnaires in Skyrim to choose whether or not they want to fight for or against their kin. The DB, as we know, is an honorary member of the forsworn and is also a daedra worshipper snd therefore can push laws allowing the worship of certain daedra and possibly come to a agreement to allow the nords and bretons to live together in the Reach. After calming the Reach he uses the Bretons their to help him find a way to get high rock into the fold, he does the same with the Dark Eves in Eastmarch and sending help to the Dark elves and boom he has the dark elves, the Bretons, the Nords, and the Orcs considering he’s a friend of the Orcs according to the game. To get hammerfell on his side the DB basically just has to promise the Redguards revenge and boom the rest is up to you guys’ imagination that’s how for I’ve gotten plus it’s late right now. Comment down below and add on or criticize doesn’t matter to me I’m just here for the same reasons y’all are, which is that I love TES!!!!!
@@iplaygames5406 woosh my friend. normally i hate explaining myself but the joke was that Balgruf would be an extremely responsible and far better ruler due to his ability to see the real trouble going on in skyrim, at the time you meet him its the dragons attacking whiterun, should he be High King it would likely be the Thalmur threat. compared to every other Jarl he is the only one taking real threats seriously
if you add to that a "Lady Miraak" mod and the Last Dragonborn marries her, which begins the new lineage of Dragonblooded emperors, then you have exactly what I would imagine happening.

@@lordzeuscannon6400 technically you are akatosh, part of him anyways like all dragons are his fragments of his soul so are you, so yeah he can stop you if you ever change your mind on something
Years ago I was planning on writing some different stories - fanfic I guess - about what would happen after. The Stormcloak version was set years after the final DLC: the Dragonborn the head of the rebuilt Blades (using bend will on Delphine because of differences of opinion on a certain dragon) and his own personal Dragon Guard and an army of dragons with Odahviing at his lieutenant. The Dragonborn would have been the power behind Ulfric's throne while trying plotting with Serana and others to evade the machinations of Hermaeus Mora as he was plagued by dreams of Miraak's end and Apocrypha. Ulfric leads armies armies into Hammerfell to aid the Redguard against a new Aldmeri invasion in return for adding Dragonstar to Skyrim. Morrowind would be established as an ally from the Dragonborn's efforts in Solstheim and High Rock would have become independent kingdoms soon after the Empire lost the Civil War (but Cyrodiil would remain independent as a buffer state between the Aldmeri Dominions and the Empire of Skyrim). The story would have seen Ulfric descend into paranoia and betray the Dragonborn while the Dragonborn defeats the Thalmor in Hammerfell, then burns all of Alinor in dragon fire effectively destroying the Dominion and leaving their armies leaderless. In light of Ulfric's betrayal, the Dragonborn, and his armies, and allies would switch to Cyrodiil, which would then intervene in Valenwood to help Bosmer factions opposed to the Thalmor. The Dragonborn would be accepted as emperor of a new empire of Tamriel with the help of an enterprising group within the Elder Council and he would arrive in the Imperial City on the back of a dragon accompanied by more. With his family safely in the Imperial City (his spouse and adopted and biological children) the dragonborn would fly to Windhelm one final time to kill Ulfric in an anti-climactic one-sided duel and bring Skyrim back into the Empire, just before Hermaeus Mora returned to claim him. The dragonborn would sacrifice himself rather than befall the same fate as Miraak. With Ulfric dead, Alinor in ruins, armies of Thalmor in disarray in Valenwood and Black Marsh a mysterious threat, there would be lots of threats to come, but the Tamrielic Empire would be strong under the successors to the so-called Last Dragonborn with a the majority of dragons under their command. It would end with Serana seemingly talking to herself as she rode off, implying that she and the Dragonborn had evaded Hermaeus Mora. The Imperial side would have had a quicker route to the throne. Fantasy? Yes, but this or something like it would have been my idea of a perfect end to the Dragonborn story. If you want to steal any of these ideas for mods then go for it!
Skooma cat wasn't sure where the dragons came from but from within the sweet dreams of the drugs he was pretty sure they weren't actually real, after all all he had to do was yell at them and they would fly to pieces. Also he woke up wearing archmage robes in the college and isn't quite sure how he got there so he sneaks out before somebody gets mad at him.
Oddly enough was thinking about this recently however I feel that the Dragonborn could become Emperor through Hermaeus Mora. Hence why we had to battle Miraak, to find who is the most powerful to rule over Tamriel for a daedric prince, the first one to succeed in "Taking over Nirn"
There are many easier ways, but taking hermaeus mora, using that to become high king would be incredibly difficult, as it takes incredible power for daedra to take influence on nirn, hence why they often have champions and worshippers
Given that the last DB is the most powerful mortal to ever walk Tamriel, it's probably a given that if they wanted to claim the empire, they could, and their dragon blood gives them an inherent desire to.
Have always thought that this should eventually be part of a quest in one of the elder scrolls games. I always though the nerevarine and the dragonborn should have been given the right to rule when they saved the world.
Aha, finally. This concept has always been a favorite of mine. The possibility of the Dragonborn becoming Emperor, and the political drama that would ensue, is a strong start for any fanfiction. Thank you, FudgeMuppet, for another awesome video!
I think that the last dragonborn would shift the balance of power dramatically by becoming the emperor. The bend will shout is in my opinion one of the largest factors in this. Just imagine this. A great war 2 scenario, but with dragons fighting on the side of the empire. It would be huge in all aspects. Imagine that you are an imperial soldier, fighting through the ranks of the thalmor. Suddenly, there's a roar from high up in the air, and a (or multiple) dragons fly over your head, breathing fire and frost down on the Thalmor. This would depend on when this second great war plays out obviously, the dragonborn isn't immortal.
I haven't actually watched the video yet but I always found it comical that the dragonborn could just walk into the Elder Council use the shout Bend Will real quick and suddenly he is the emperor
I hope the Dragonborn is a future boss, they could legit just have it in some ambiguous armour with an ambiguous voice, or have someone else speak for them considering the power with the voice the Dragonborn would likely have at that point. Or hell they could just use a save state import
The only problem is making a main character strong enough to kill the dragonborn who defeated the world eater has slain hordes of dragons and could kill you with words alone and if it's a vampire dragonborn that's just scary as shit
@@jacobrudd6318 also that would mean you’d have to have a canon for the LDB. If they appeared in another game, they’d have a canon gender, canon race, and canon playstyle. "What you want for the next game lore? Other dragonborn? relation to the skyrim lore? new guilds? some....." "DEATH TO THALMORS"!!!!!! "other st....." "i just REALLY need they to be screwed"
I honestly think they will be the main antagonist, everything points to it, or at least the beginning of their downfall, its pretty much comfirmed ES6 will be in Hammerfell, the one province in Tamriel to be "Aldmeri Dominion free" so maybe they will have a big war against the Thalmors and the Thalmors likely won't win, making them weaker than ever and making it possible for the empire to strengthen and allie themselves with Hammerfell to finish the Thalmors off for good
Technically the Dragonborn saves Skyrim, and makes it to Sovengard to kill Alduin. And gets both sides/factions to get along somewhat for the first time in forever. Dragonborn should be High King of Skyrim or Emperor
The "could" answer is simple: Yes, he could. Something people tend to forget is that there are no empire, in Tamriel or otherwise, that has been created without the rule of might. The question of course is of the wider political ramifications - If he supports Ulfric (which is not a given at all - Ulfric is not a particular pleasant person, especially not if you are an elf), the empire or decides to take no part in the conflict only to sweep in afterwards. There is also the question if there even is a functional empire, should Titus Mede II be dead by the hands of the dark brotherhood - whichever way the dragonborn emperor will likely need to contest with the Thalmor, depending of course, on his own actions. If the dragonborn is human, then the Thalmor might just wait till he dies of old age before they do anything for example, they are quite skilled and I suspect they will be a factor even when we come to the elder scrolls VI once that gets released.
If the Last Dragonborn did the Dark Brotherhood questline they can also claim legitimacy by right of combat, like between Ulfric and Torrig. Either way, Scott's scenario for how the Last Dragonborn becomes emperor should have included the fact that by 4E 402, Emperor Titus Meade II lies dead.
No, he could not. 1. It has to be a duel. A ritual duel requires witnesses. 2. The High King has to agree to the duel. 3. The Emperor is not subject to Skyrims laws/traditions since he isn't a Nord or citizen of Skyrim. 4. The Emperor was unarmed and not hostile, unless you use Frenzy, but that's magic interference and would delegitimize the result. 5. Even IF for some reason the Nords went along with this, not a single part of the rest of the Empire would accept this.
@@Ackalan Points well taken. My only rebuttal is that I said the Dragonborn could CLAIM legitimacy, not that they would have it. I think the best evidence that this wouldn't make them legitimate is that Tsun doesn't entertain your passage to the Hall of Valor if your claim is the Right of Blood.
You do realize that the "by right of combat" is strictly a Nord tradition only applicable in Skyrim right? It wouldn't apply at all to you assassinating the Emperor and publicly admiting that you did it would only make you the most wanted criminal anywhere the Empire has authority
@@Noseihtam266 Okay cool but hear me out. You team up with Ulfric, Skyrim gains independence. Then you kill the emperor and aren't wanted for treason within Skyrim. During the succession crisis you and Ulfric go on a propaganda tour of Skyrim about the importance of having a Dragonborn Emperor, the Stormcloaks back your claim to the Imperial throne, Skyrim invades Cyrodiil with the Drangonborn leading the charge, you win, you become emperor. Ulfric is an unlawful usurper anyways, and he reveres the dragonborn, so he wouldn't have trouble supporting your claim as a "kingslayer". I'm just having some fun here.
I watched this video 4 years ago and it inspired me to run what is now an ongoing Elder Scrolls D&D Campaign that takes place after the events of Skyrim. In my Table-Top Tamriel's Canon, a scenario happens that isn't unlike the controversial events between Cuhlecain and Tiber Septim but instead with the Dragonborn and Ulfric after the civil war. The Stormcloaks win with the Dragonborn's help, and after Ulfric is Elected High King by the Jarl's Moot, he is mysteriously assassinated by an unknown party, and an attempt is made on the Dragonborn's life "allegedly". The assassin is shouted to ash (Like High King Torygg) leaving behind no evidence. The Jarl's reconvene the moot and elect the Dragonborn the High King given that he was basically a demi-god hero to every Nord alive at the time. In my narrative the Dragonborn almost plays the role of a villain, he kills Paarthunax and restores the blades, abolishes the Way of The Voice, reestablishes the tradition of Nordic Tongues, and dismantles the influence of the imperial doctrine of Saint Allesia's Pantheon in Skyrim, effectively banning what he sees as the gross elven bastardization of Nordic deities. He plans to restore the former borders of Skyrim to what they were in the late Merethic era, and then march even further to create a new empire of man with Shor as it's chief deity. This time he will not repeat what he views as Tiber Septim's biggest mistake, which is accept a surrender from the elves. Obviously at the same time the Thalmor have the exact opposite goals to rid Tamriel of the influence of Talos and Lorkhan(Shor), and either unmake the world or establish elven supremacy whichever comes first. The only thing stopping what is essentially the Dawn War 2.0 from ending the Kalpa and starting a new one, is a crumbling empire that just got it's emperor assassinated and lost pretty much all of it's provinces. So far the players have taken the side of the "centrist" and see both sides as radical extremists that will inevitably change Tamriel for the worse in their own ways. They seek out ways to thwart both sides as agents of the Mede Empire, specifically Attrebus Mede III, my invented second son of Titus Mede II, who is a Jagar Tharn-esc archmage using magical espionage, elder scrolls, and shady deals with daedra to desperately keep the current incarnation of empire alive. It's been very fun as a Table-Top adventure, and just as a thought experiment that started as an answer to the question in the title of this video, but has evolved into so much more. As I've been basically pulling a stream of evolving narrative out of my ass for a little less than 4 years, your guy's videos, podcasts, and your D&D campaign have been a huge inspiration and my players and I would just like to thank you for keeping it going for us.
I mean, looking at the other guilds quest lines, he just needs to get a job as the castle courrier and 7 missions later we got ourselfs a new emperor.

By the end of Skyrim, the Dragonborn has potentially pledged themselves to fifteen different Daedric princes, possibly also Sithis, certainly Akatosh, and is potentially a werewolf and a vampire. Also...wow, you guys really hate the Empire, don't you??
You’re leaving out the fact the Dragonborn, having a dragons soul, also shares their ability to absorb the souls of other dragons once they are slain.
Both the DLC are about people trying to take over the world, not end the Kalpa.
I always thought the opposite, the dragon is an agent of chaos, stopping stagnation and to keep things changing.

They did it with the hero of Kvatch…
A lot of the trailers showed a male nord sort of like how Morrowind showed a dunmeer and oblivion an imperial.
The Dragonborn is definitely a contender for the throne, just think about it. The Emperor dies in the Dark Brotherhood time line, and the throne is cleared for the Dragonborn. Why not do the same thing Tiber Septim did, just build an army and invade.

@Jhonny Auditore Sorry Nerevar, I have the high ground.
Neravine: But I have 100% damage reflection and 1000 blade skill.
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Yes, because people still remember the Septim dyntasty and how the Empire flourished during that time and would want a return to that.
Ohh LanLa
This Is Literally the dumbest reasoning i’ve ever actually heard.

If The Dragonborn was to go for the Ruby Throne,
He’d Have The Support Of Skyrim instantly.
The Last Dragonborn Becoming Emperor=

Headass Hitlerous Ugh, you want me to go thru your wall of text, no, disgusting. Next time put a “TL:DR” alright ? Sum it up at the end if it’s too long or keep it short.
Ohh LanLa Oh sorry, did i piss someone off?
The Dragonborn has no Divine right. That Divine right came in the form of the Dragonfires and the Amulet of Kings.
@Alika Fifi arafiah That's not how it works.
@@ldcraig2006 maybe our grandchildren will be alive to see
To me. I interpret it quite literally. He is last in the cycle. A being through some miracle will achieve CHIM.

The Nerevarine is dragon-born though as we know from the Lost Prophecy:
"From seventh sign of eleventh generation,
Neither Hound nor Guar, nor Seed nor Harrow,
But Dragon-born and far-star-marked,
Outlander Incarnate beneath Red Mountain,
Blessed Guest counters seven curses,
Star-blessed hand wields thrice-cursed blade,
To reap the harvest of the unmourned house."
Ultimately speaking, the idea of dragon-born is divine right to rule, and this can even be seen with the rise of the Nerevarine who had united the tribes and houses of Morrowind as well.
@@astronautical1060 except that the concept of dragonborn isn't developed as much as it is in Skyrim

I don't know why Bethesda doesn't give players that “Rags to Riches” Story Archetype.
That wouldn't make any sense, nobody would just be crowned emperor because they were brave and saved many lives, this isnt a fucking fairy tale, political positions arent just given away cause youre strong, you have to have to be a bit smart

Now there's a theory. The Dragonborn is Talos reborn. I'm sure someone put that forward already, but that's an interesting idea
The Dragonborn is more likely an incarnation of Shor than of Talos.
@@MindForgedManacle you got a point there

He can damn well take over the empire by himself lmaoo

I doubt that the LDB is really the "last" Dragonborn. Alduin isn't truly defeated and could potentially come back, so the need for a new Dragonborn may arise.
In-game they theorize that Alduin isn’t truly dead so he can come back to fulfill his purpose as the world eater. Whether that’s true or not is up for debate but I think it makes sense
Didn’t the LDB consume Alduin’s soul?
@@thespellchecker9123 No, the LDB can talk Paarthurnax and Arngeir and there is a dialogue that starts by the player admitting they didn't absorb Alduins soul. It is actually impossible to absorb Alduins soul even by lore standards he was the "first born" of Akatosh he has a purpose given to him by Akatosh and thus the LDB is not meant to permanently stop Alduin.
Then the Godhead would be stuck in a comatose state if he really did kill Alduin.
No, He *will* come back
The first Emperor, Talos was a dragonborn, and the PC of skyrim is the first dragonborn hundreds of years, so it makes sense that you should be able to crown yourself as High King and it always annoyed me that the game gives no option to do this, unless you count mods.
@@stressedeggs gotta bust out the uno reverse card on ulfric lol, honestly tho the Dragonborn has the legitimately strongest claim the both Skyrim and the empire, we literally have the potential to control the entire world by the endgame, the empire would gladly accept us as their leader as long as we keep the death of the old emperor quite,
wouldn't even need to bring up Tiber septum, that dragon army and dragon born's personal strenght is enough to end the world even harder than Alduin could
This is precisely why I side with the Stormcloaks every time. True High King? Of course I know him, he’s me.
Bro you could just straight up use your Geass(Bend Will) to the emperor and tell them to "Acknowledge me as Emperor" then they will be like "All hail Dovahkiin"
I’ve always considered that “the last Dragonborn” means that he is the most recent one. Like, did you watch the last Star Wars movie?
Last means either the last ever dragonborn or last dragonborn bloodline. It does not mean latest.
Distortion Reaper There’s also the possibility that the Last Dragonborn will simply be the last to die, not the last to be born or even have the last Dragonborn bloodline
He's probably is the *last* dragonborn because the next time alduin comes knocking he's probably going to have the support of akatosh
Its funny cause that *was* the last star wars movie

We need a Dragonborn Emperor series that discusses potential dragonborn emperors of every race
Lasyltherni the canonical race and gender are the defaults. For Skyrim it’s a male nord. Likely he’ll be given a cyrodiilic name if takes the Throne.

Oh my god, the Dragonborn won’t become emperor of tamriel
Oddly enough was thinking about this recently however I feel that the Dragonborn could become Emperor through Hermaeus Mora. Hence why we had to battle Miraak, to find who is the most powerful to rule over Tamriel for a daedric prince, the first one to succeed in "Taking over Nirn"
There are many easier ways, but taking hermaeus mora, using that to become high king would be incredibly difficult, as it takes incredible power for daedra to take influence on nirn, hence why they often have champions and worshippers
also miraak never succeded in taking over nirn in the first place

Either way, Scott's scenario for how the Last Dragonborn becomes emperor should have included the fact that by 4E 402, Emperor Titus Meade II lies dead.
errrrrr, he COULD, but claiming it by right of combat would be like killing a toddler and telling the toddlers parents that your the child now
No, he could not.
