Wasn't it the Great War that compelled Ulfric to take on his father's mantle as a jarl in the first place? If the absence of the Oblivion Crisis prevents the Great War from happening entirely, then I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Ulfric continues his studies and meditations with the Greybeards. In fact, it could be Ulfric himself teaching Shouts to the Dragonborn instead of Arngeir. And you completely forgot about another bit of fallout from the Oblivion Crisis, the disbanding of the Mages Guild. @@publiusdraco2557 the thalmor are not a new thing, they've been around for quite some time before the crisis. The Dominion on the other hand wouldn't have existed.
@@slimretro2659 The Thalmor are new, and retroactive in the timeline. That being said, a version of them, that wasn't as Snidely Whiphlash would have been preferred in Skyrim.
Didn't the Red Year happen because Vivec disappeared during the Oblivion Crisis? Was there some other reason he disappeared? I think the crown and the blades would ally with the church to create some version of what the Vigilants of Stendarr are in the standard timeline, whose sole purpose would be rooting out and destroying what remains of the Mythic Dawn. I'm pretty sure Martin's ascension to the throne would probably spark the Elder Scrolls version of the Dance of Dragons, with much more scope that just Skyrim, which would probably be one-sidedly sponsored by the still secret Aldmeri Dominion. They'd most likely encourage and instigate the destruction and chaos, ultimately coming out to start their Elven war in the aftermath (if they didn't just install a puppet successor themselves). Alduin would still come out of the timegate, everyone would still be unprepared and ill-equipped to deal with it, and much of what takes place in Skyrim would still more or less happen, minus the civil war, which would have already taken place during the Elder Scrolls Dance of Dragons two hundred years before.
there would be no red mountain. and instead of two moons lorkhan would most likely have his own planet/plane instead of ruling sovngarde as a ghost of his former self
Going off of the revised Skyrim, what if when fighting Alduin with the dragonborn, they die and you have to take his place in a way, learning the way of the voice from the greybeards and uncovering interactions with Akatosh to really become the last dragonborn
One problem in your alternate time line.. I killed King Helseth with the help of Long Live The King mod. Due to the fact that he tried to kill me on at least two occasions, even after he enlisted my help when I traveled to Mournhold to face the Dark Brother hood. I've killed people for less in the game and decided he deserved no special consideration.
Once again, Alduin cannot arrive because the Oblivion Crisis and the Great War never happened, which means the High King of Skyrim was never killed, which means there's no Civil War and thus the "White Tower" doesn't lie kingless and bleeding.
Really enjoying this series, and you make good cases for your alternative timelines for the most part. But. I must point out that I'm a bit disappointed with the framing of the civil war in Skyrim as I think the new agenda for Ulfric sounds very forced. I don't think Ulfric would wage war against the Empire or their loyalists in this timeline, because I think he would be a loyalist himself. Sure, he holds Nordic history, culture and tradition in high regard, but in the original timeline he would even abandon his post as a student of the Greybeards(the very essence of Nordic tradition in 4th era Skyrim) to fight for the Empire in the Great War. In his mind, as with most Nords, the Septim line within the Empire IS Nordic history. In the original timeline that line had ended 200 years ago and he still fought for the Empire, and only started his rebellion once he was convinced the Empire of old that he and the Nords valued so much was no more.
The player could and would likely still be a Dragonborn. Remember there are 2 types of Dragonborn in the lore. Those from Alesia's Line have the blood, but are not capable of absorbing souls or using the Thum without training. Those from Tiber's line have the soul and can use the Thum and absorb souls. As stated in the video the Septim line is no longer direct descendents from Tiber so they likely no longer have the soul of a Dragon. Also before someone says they could become Avatar of Akatosh as Martin did I doubt Akatosh would bring himself to killing his first born. I mean not even the Dragonborn truly kills Alduin in ES5, you never actually absorb his soul.
The vigils of stendarr what happened to them as their order was founded after the oblivion crisis would their order still be founded if there was no crisis to begin with ?
Y'know the Aldmeri Dominion claiming to have brought back the missing moons sounds a bit of a gamble when you take into consideration that if they can bring back the moons than wouldn't that mean that they possibly can also make it disappear as well and thus possibly also be accused of such?
I would like a alternate version consisting of The Grey-BEARDS foreseeing the threat that is Alduin & such so they seek those Dragon-born to teach the ways of meditation & such. Effectively negating any possibility for violence in combat unless the perpetrator is in fact, suicidal or other-wise perverse this harmful. Considering the Dragon-born of Sky-rim is a marauding menace too.....perhaps in this time line it is rescued by the Dragon-born as it interferes with Alduin's assault on Helgen?
if the aldmeri dominion used the dark brother hood to assasinate the emporor causing the civil war it could make for a really interesting dark brother hood quest where you need to infiltrate the group to find out who ordered the contract without arousing suspision still needing to kill or trying to help targets escape and hide making a very interesting moral dynamic
My quarantine has yielded a Morrowind playthrough. I like your timeline ideas, though I just brought Nerevarine Justice to Helseth for his multiple attempts on my life.
If the protagonist of oblivion never starts his journey, jyglagg would still be trapped as sheogorath and the greymarch would still happen, which also means our hero never becomes sheogorath. So what happened to the prisoner who saved uriel when martin becomes king??

P.S.- Never been this early since the fallout 4 builds videos good times 😄!
i've always thought it would be cool if in a future TES game we had a questline that involved us using a Elder Scroll to go back in time and stop a radical sect of Moth priests from rewriting pivotal moments in each of the main games time period..obviously these would only be like loading into a small map sorta of like a daedric realm quest that just so happens to take us to a location from each province during a specific part in each games storyline and not the entirety of each games map.
I mean, if anyone questioned Martin's legitimacy... he could just light the dragonfires... that thing that only Dragonborns (and therefore potential Emperors) can do
I love how nobody noticed how Scott said that Uriel VII. dies in 3E 443 at the age of 86, yet he was already 87 when he was assassinated in the original timeline.
He would take over oblivion and his next goal would be conquering mundas, which he would've absolutely succeed if he had all 16 daedric realms in his hands. I don't believe he could take over aetheriues tho, since some sources claim that Anu is still in aetheriues and you can't defeat Anu no matter how powerful you are.
could you do a alternate history vid of what if Alduin ate the world or what the next world would be like and what races would survive into the next world?
Did you forget about the events of Shivering Isles? How would the prevention of the Oblivion Crisis and subsequent turning of the era influence the return of Jyggalag and the changing of Sheogorath to the player character. The reason I ask is because Jyggalag only comes out to reconquer the Shivering Isles at the turning of the Era and only when that occurs is it possible to end his cycle.
"a different diplomatic route" like telling ulfric his rebellion lieterally helps the elves he so much hates? which can be proven with the files on him as an asset to the thalmor? LIKE THAT OPTION THAT ENEVER EXISTS?

Wasn't it the Great War that compelled Ulfric to take on his father's mantle as a jarl in the first place? If the absence of the Oblivion Crisis prevents the Great War from happening entirely, then I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Ulfric continues his studies and meditations with the Greybeards. In fact, it could be Ulfric himself teaching Shouts to the Dragonborn instead of Arngeir.
And you completely forgot about another bit of fallout from the Oblivion Crisis, the disbanding of the Mages Guild. Without the Daedric hordes creating all that anti-mage sentiment throughout Tamriel, the Mages Guild remains standing. Who knows how that could have affected the College of Winterhold.

One thing that could happen that I think would be amazing is if you were a chosen dragonborn of akatosh and the emperial line was still around maybe part of the plot line could be the factions choosing to align with you either against the emperor and his line or there could be another side wanting you to marry into the family. The amount of insanity that could happen from a second dragonborn separate from the line could be amazing
If the events of the Oblivion Crisis never happened, I never would have moved to the Shivering Isles and met my wonderful wife. I don’t know why they call them the Shivering Isles because the weather here isn’t cold at all. It’s rather lovely except for when it rains spiders and troll urine. My beautiful wife with her golden skin is a local guard in the city watch. Everyone said that Man and Daedra are not supposed to fall in love, but we certainly prove them wrong.
(By the Nine someone please help! I don’t know why they are called golden Saints, They’re anything but Saints! I wish I’d never cheated on her with her cousin; but they are called dark seducers for a reason, and I’m just a simple mortal. Everyone here is insane. I wanna go home! I’d rather be cabbage farmer in the Chloe in Highlands. By Mara’s grace the mood swings are terrifying. And the cousin won’t stop tempting me.)
Everyone asked this question when they stood in front of the emperor during the assasination cutscene in the dungeons.
This was your best alternate history video yet, IMO. Interesting premise, thoughtful exploration of the implications, and, ultimately, it's just a fascinating period of time in the lore and really has a lot to sink your teeth into. Really enjoyed this.
As for other ideas, maybe something spinning out of one of the earlier games in the series? Something like "what if the Imperial Simulacrum never ended/Uriel VII was never freed at the end of Arena"?
What if Jauffre never took the Amulet of Kings from you, therefor not letting it get stolen from Weynon Priory and immediately being able to light the Dragonfire after saving Martin from the siege of Kvatch?
I love this alternate history series, it's so awesome to think on how different TES universe could be with the slightest changes

Easy answer: we would still be waiting on a new TES game for 10+ years
The Bound Warrior: Uses all of the bound weapons to expertise. As well as being able to summon powerful Dremora and Atronachs. Wears Vokun and heavy chitin armor gauntlets and boots
I wanted to mention the prophecy thing, but you shut me up with your own rebuttal. And the new reason for the civil war occurring is genius. You guys have some insane storytelling prowess.
What if The Lusty Argonian Maid was never written? Lol
The entire continent would descend into chaos over sexual frustration.

I love this. Auriel and Trinimac are fucking virgins for killing the chad lorkhan.

@Tree of Wisdom you can't simp for men
Going off of the revised Skyrim, what if when fighting Alduin with the dragonborn, they die and you have to take his place in a way, learning the way of the voice from the greybeards and uncovering interactions with Akatosh to really become the last dragonborn
Why didn't youtube recommend me this sooner! Your alternate history stuff is great!
I liked this. It’s always interesting to think about alternate timelines and possibilities.
it doesn't get said enough, but i really appreciate the amount of thought that goes into these videos
The mages guild be around, magic would not be disliked and in winterhold the college would not make the great collapse,
If oblivion did not happen Sean Bean would not have to die.
Quite an interesting delve into the lore! Thanks for uploading!
This is a follow up on the trend what if something didn't happen. I like it!
Woot! FM granted my request! Great video!
The game he makes up in this actually sounds like it would be amazing
Yeah I'd play it. I wonder if someone could make a mod for Skyrim about it.

5:34 Angry mobster Daedras firing firebolt and lightning bolt at the cameraman...
This is Cody with Alternate History Hub.
if the aldmeri dominion used the dark brother hood to assasinate the emporor causing the civil war it could make for a really interesting dark brother hood quest where you need to infiltrate the group to find out who ordered the contract without arousing suspision still needing to kill or trying to help targets escape and hide making a very interesting moral dynamic
If the oblivion crisis didn’t happen we wouldn’t have such a great game

P.S.- Never been this early since the fallout 4 builds videos good times 😄!
i've always thought it would be cool if in a future TES game we had a questline that involved us using a Elder Scroll to go back in time and stop a radical sect of Moth priests from rewriting pivotal moments in each of the main games time period..obviously these would only be like loading into a small map sorta of like a daedric realm quest that just so happens to take us to a location from each province during a specific part in each games storyline and not the entirety of each games map.
I mean, if anyone questioned Martin's legitimacy... he could just light the dragonfires... that thing that only Dragonborns (and therefore potential Emperors) can do
Are all these what if videos you going crazy from quarantine?😂

I love how nobody noticed how Scott said that Uriel VII. dies in 3E 443 at the age of 86, yet he was already 87 when he was assassinated in the original timeline.
Can you do a timeline without Jyggalag becoming sheogorath? Also awesome video

Nice video man.
