Who is the guy at the start?

The most important video in my life. 2022 was full of pain, hatred and grief. 2023 started off on a bad note. But I still have hope.
Creativity is exactly what brings me emotional relief. And when for the last two months I have not been able to make videos due to the lack of electricity - it destroyed me. Now I use every second to somehow edit.
This video was created yesterday in one night. It contains my whole life for the last 11th months.
Your videos are always full of heart. Whether it comes from pain, hope, joy, or all of the above. To lose such heart in the darkness of war would be understandable. But you didn't despite the hell you are going through. I respect that, more than you know. I hope you never stop being you.

Hi, I'm a ghost watcher who mostly watch but rarely ever comment and I wanted to do it for this one. Thank you for your video, thank you for this one, I keep thinking about next month making it a full year of this horrible atrocity and I'm thinking about all of you. I feel powerless so thank you for your creativity and for staying there and being you. I'll try to give more, it's not much but if everyone helps a little and educate better, the world will change, I hope.

В мене не вистачить слів, щоб описати, що я відчуваю щодо ваших робіт за виключенням того, що кожна робота пробиває мене на сльози. Але я спробую.
Я дивлюся лише роботи про Доктора і Торчвуд, тому що інші фандоми мені не знайомі, і ці коротенькі (в порівнянні з серіалом, звісно) нарізки дозволяють мені раз за разом згадати, чому "Доктор кто" став для мене чимось типу.. святині? Я не знаю, типу ніші, куди я можу піти від світу, пізнати щось земне і те, що дуже далеко від цього світу, радість та горе, милість і ненависть - тут є все для всього, всесвіт, до якого я ставлюсь з ніжністю. А Доктор - одним із небагатьох персонажів, на кого я рівняюсь. Це (не)людина, що зберігає у серці милосердя навіть перед лицем найзлішого ворога, навіть перед перед далеками (що нагадують навіть не знаю кого, щось на язиці крутиться).
У кожній роботі можна шукати приховані посили один за одним і знаходити, навіть якщо він не задумувався. Я би сказав, що ви це просто відчуваєте настільки добре. Навіть тут я окрім посилу про війну (давайте не прикидатися, що це не так) знайшов ще багато думок, які навіть не можу висловити.
Після того, що сталося вчора, це відео вдарило по мені набагато сильніше, ніж я очікував. Я чув вибух, я спостерігав за новинами. Моя подруга живе в кілометрі від того місця. Мій одногрупник був там, шукав родичку друга. Він чув ці крики. Я не слухав - не вистачило на то сміливості. Це боротьба з далеками. До цих потвор немає сенсу відчувати милосердя.
Ці темні часи пройдуть, і ми знову будемо жити. Мати можливість розвести руки і дихати повною груддю. Ми будемо жити КРАЩЕ, ніж раніше. Бо ми люди.
Я можу не пережити це. Немає гарантій, що завтра в мене не прилетить, але зі смертю я вже змирився. Я можу померти, але те, що я залишив, те, що я зробив, навіть якщо це крихітна робота, буде жити. В інших, само по собі - але буде.
Я записався. Треба зупинитися.
Прошу вибачення, якщо тут "прийнято" писати англійскою, я не настільки хорошо мовлю англійскою, щоб писати нею такі складні переживання, я б печатав це до наступного дня.
Сподіваюся, що ви принаймні у безпеці, настільки, наскільки це можливо. Слава Україні.

Ви так точно описали все те що я думаю про Доктора і цей серіал. І саме вчорашня трагедія змусила мене зробити це відео, воно надто особисте і болюче.
Нам дійсно не гарантоване завтра, але сьогодні ми є. І ми мусимо боротися за нашу свободу та життя.

я не могу, каждый раз смотря ваши видео я начинаю плакать, это настолько красиво смонтировано, чувствуется, что вы вкладываете свою душу и любовь! в каждой фразе заложено столько смысла и по прошествию времени и разных событий начинаешь их понимать. мне невероятно больно от того, что происходит сейчас, но смотря Доктора я словно получаю глоток свежего воздуха и убеждаюсь, что если бы все смотрел Доктора, то мир был бы лучше!

It does have more impact because of your situation as a Ukrainian being invaded by Russia. I am grateful for all of your wonderful videos, especially the Doctor Who ones, because that is my favorite show. You've edited some brilliant bits together into a fantastic package. I'm still hoping/praying for victory for Ukraine over the evil superpower that started off bending towards good, but got bent back towards evil by Putin.

I think that single line describes the ideology of the darleks perfectly, better then most other descriptions of them by the doctor.
It makes me feel like they are not the absolute evil like they are portraied later, but more like they simply don't know better.

On another note: before I watched Doctor Who, my opinion on war was that it's necessary for technological advancement but after watching this show three and more times over, my opinion on matters like war has fundamentally changed! And I'm glad it has! Doctor Who is a show that I will never stop re-watching and I plan to show it to my children if and when I have them!
Almost 9 months since you created this, I must say though, It's brilliant!
The Eleventh Doctor was always my favourite though. His character was played brilliantly. On the 12th doctor, he was called "The doctor of war"
But, Matt Smith's Doctor was so very well played in every single episode that I found it hard to appreciate the 12 & 13th doctor.
Bravo on this masterpiece though.
You make me feel so many things with you Doctor Who edits, but most importantly you make me feel hope, compassion, and this inherent quality of humanity to always overcome the darkness. It will get better. You just have to hold on until the light comes back. Darkness never lasts.

I want to applaud the sheer magnificence of this ❤️ yet I want to weep and never stop for it 💔 This was the most powerful, strong video that you have ever done and without a shadow of a doubt for me, the most powerful, strong video on UA-cam. The editing was absolutely phenomenal! I am so very sorry for what you are going through but gladdened that the Doctor brings you peace and emotional coping. I have suffered dreadful loss over 20 months myself, I lost my home, my mother died, my partner died and my father died. I am 49 and the Doctor is what keeps me going, keeps me sane. The Doctor has lost so much, fought so hard yet somehow keeps going. I have a lot of the audio stories too, I have heard some so many times I know them off by heart, the same with the episodes of Nine, Ten and Eleven. I have seen Twelve and Thirteen, just not as often. We find solace and coping where we can, because we have no choice but to keep going. I may not like where I live but it is a safe roof over my head, and as a boost to myself I have posters of the Doctor tucked away in random places, inside the wardrobe, inside kitchen cupboards doors... I desperately wish this horrific war to end for you and I wish the Doctor was real because they would put things right for you ❤️
