We’ve had a C1 for a few months with the most horrific loud rumbling/vibrations/humming when driving straight or turning the wheel to the left - but when turning to the right it doesn’t make a noise 😳
Starting to think it may be the wheel bearing on one of the wheels.... but sounds expensive 😭

Quick question you jacked up only one side of front of car to drive the front drivers wheel how did other front stay stationary.
There is a differential in the gearbox, which transmits drive to the lightest wheel, that is why only one wheel turns, if you have a lsd limited slip diff then both wheels would turn, but these are only fitted to high end sports cars. Thanks for the comments 👍🏻👍🏻
aaanton11 thanks for your reply , I have a Hyundia i30 and the humming noise at 30-40mph started after front new tyres and alignment . Swapped the tyres to the back still the noise was coming . When driving if slightly steer to right noise gets louder so I’m thinking left wheel bearing . I will have to try your method from video . Did you put wheel chocks on the rear to stop car moving while jacked up?
No just put the handbrake on👍🏻👍🏻, yours sounds like a tyre issue, I would think the new tyres are noisy what make are they??
aaanton11 I’ve put the front new tyres to the rear now but still sounds like noise coming from front left . Tyres are continental eco 5 185/15/65

Ingenious method of spinning up rear wheel! As regards to front, would it not be better to jack both front wheels up together to eliminate any diffential gear noise (obviously best with two people so one can listen close to wheel)? That said it worked fine as it was.

would not be easier holding the suspension coils while you spin the wheel, that way you can feel any vibration

@@aaanton11 I also had a problem where I had hit a speed bump and my car would just turn off, the whole car wouldn’t start. Took it to the garage they managed to get it to start, but now the ABS and handbrake light are on together, and the problem above is occurring. What do you reckon?
Just turn the radio up and it sounds great.
