LZ during this period often followed (John-Henry) Bonham's drum solo (Moby Dick) with a 3-song acoustic set, allowing him a rest and putting their diversity on display at the same time. Robert Plant on Vocals and Harmonica, Jimmy Page on Guitar and other stuff (Theremin), John Paul Jones on Bass, Keyboards-Piano-Organs-Mellotron, and Mandolin here! This track is from their untitled 4th album. The album was recorded between Nov 70 and Mar 71, so Robert was only 22 when Stairway to Heaven dropped. He has the biggest crush on Joni Mitchell (famous deva folk singer of the day) and part of this song, at least, is a tribute to her "Find a Queen without a King, they say she plays guitar, cries and sings". He later recalled how nervous he was to meet her at only 22!
Greetings from Canada. The drummer (Bonzo) was grabbing some refreshment- much needed. The song is about Joni Mitchell who- with hippie plaudits and flowers in her hair, released the song "California" in 1971; Zep's tribute in Nov. 1971. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Love this song, glad that you enjoyed it! This is from their 1975 Earls Court concert. They did a 3-song acoustic set, the other two being "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" and "That's the Way", also terrific. Oh, that's a mandolin, not a banjo, that Jones was playing. Best rock band in history, imo. You can't go wrong going down that rabbit hole. :) Band members: Jimmy Page - guitarist, producer Robert Plant - vocalist, lyricist John Paul Jones - bass, keys John Bonham - drummer/percussion Edit: The drummer was there, just didn't play during this particular song.
@@juliemanarin4127 Yes, and on the studio version of "That's the Way", Page also played a pedal steel guitar, dulcimer and a bass guitar. Page and Jones can both play a variety of instruments but the ones I listed are the ones they played as their main function in the band. Edit: If we listed every instrument each of them can play, it would be quite long. Very talented musicians! :)
Drummer was there my guy. This was a portion of the set where they pull out some stools and go acoustic 3-4 songs give him a smoke/drink break. And the drummer did the same for them. Gotta check out Moby Dick from the Royal Albert Hall to see what I mean 😉
I hope you decide to dive deeper into Led Zeppelin, every song of so many genres are amazing. They always give their music love & passion, they really love/loved what they were doing. Yes they made a lot of money, really they deserved even more then they actually got. They achieved fame so quick, quicker then they or anyone really expected, but because they were the greatest. They toured so much,& were selling out stadiums everywhere, sometimes needing to add an extra day to a city. They’ve written several masterpieces, it’s hard to pick your favorite Led Zeppelin song, for most it’s which ever one you’re listening to. Thank you for your reaction, I hope to see many more Led Zeppelin reactions from you.
Just subscribed. I like your style. Way better than most reactors. You talk about the music construction, lyrics and emotional response concisely. Music is a bit too low. Try turning it up a notch or two. Zep reactions drew me in. Your style kept me on board. Led Zep favorite band since heard them when 16 in 1973. Led Zeppelin’s catalog is so deep, hard to know what to request: blues do When the Levee Breaks, softer side the beautiful Rain Song, personal favorite In the Light, is progressive. Love your reactions!
This song is all acoustic John Bonham the drummer was sitting next to John Paul Jones this song doesn't have drums in it so Bonham sat this song out! Jimmy Page playing a Spanish acoustic guitar and John Paul Jones is playing a mandolin
Jimmy page guitar, arrangement and mixing, Robert Plant, vocals and harmonica, John Paul Jones, keyboards, arrangement, and anything with strings, John Bonham… Drums, and stage management!
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on UA-cam. 😀

i hate to see first time reactors go for the live version. studio has almost always better sound and clarity, also no video to distract from music.
Dislike. The volume of the song was so low it was barely audible. Had to turn it off.
