This is simply the best acoustic song ever written. It’s about Robert’s dream of visiting the west coast of the USA where his musical idols had come from (Moby Grape etc) and it’s about his crush on Joni Mitchell - she’s the woman in the song who plays guitar and cry’s and sings. This was written in early 71 when Zeppelin were recording their 4th album and there was an actual earthquake when they were recording tracks in Los Angeles
You will LOVE The Rain Song!! One of Jimmy Page’s best compositions (in my humble opinion). George Harrison commented that Zeppelin didn’t have any ballads, The Rain Song was Jimmy’s reply…😎
My favorite Led Zeppelin song! And what I love most about it is how beautifully John Paul Jones' mandolin playing dances with Jimmy Page's guitar! Yours is the best reaction to this song I've seen yet! Thank you!
I think you are speechless for several reasons: 1) the music is SO evocative of a lost time of innocence, of lost youth and idealism. At least for those of us of a certain age there’s allot of nostalgia around that sound. 2) the music is played flawlessly and it’s just plain beautiful 3) seeing them seated…”at rest” as it were, allows you to just contemplate the beauty of …..what……young men at the height of their powers? Both Robert and Jimmy were magnetic. And Robert, with that “shy” grin, was a total “lady killer”. 4). It makes your heart joyous, but also creates a yearning for that time and place. At least, those are some of my reasons why I love this video.
I was born in and grew up in California listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and other great music, seeing these bands live. Go to California, visit the National Parks, you can find the good when you're open and you look.
They were crushing on Joni Mitchell when they wrote this song. I hope you'll dive into her catalog of incredibly deep and wonderful music and songwriting. Peace -
Every time there is a discussion about the best band Led Zeppelin is there. Their diversity is one of their best features. So many great bands have a fixed style and that's o. K. You can tell an ACDC song after the first guitar strum. You have done a dozen Zep songs and they are all so different, yet the same. Queen is a bit the same. Love your reactions. It's like watching a 3 year old open their birthday presents 🤔🎉🎊🤯🥰
Thank you for reaction! Love watching your Zep reactions. No "hopefully we will really like." Heh it's Zep, you will love. 😊 I also feel sad for those that have never heard them.
I love to see your two’s reaction to the band I had the same reaction too 50 years ago. They are one of a kind and just blow your mind. You have just scratched the surface of their music. So excited to see the rest of your journey reacting to them. Love the channel and keep up the great work😁❤️
Who wrights music like this anymore? Great reaction guys, can't help but love it well done. It's ok mate go back as far as you want I'm here I will listen to it a thousand times.
Don’t worry, everybody has a crush on & gets goosebumps from Robert and his voice! Jimmy on the guitar and JPJ on the mandolin-Yes please! Please do I Can’t Quit You Baby Live at Royal Albert Hall 1970 next-it was Jimmy’s 26th birthday they packed it and had people on their feet for 2 hours and 2 15 minute encores! It gives a true representation of where they started and introduces you to Jimmy & Robert’s call and response that they held right through 1998. Four master musicians indeed!
Very much enjoyed your reaction to this song, thanks. You'd likely also enjoy the other two acoustic songs they performed during that concert. They are "That's the Way" and "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp". Edit: I also think you'd really enjoy "The Rain Song". Absolutely beautiful, but I do recommend listening to the studio version first.
Do you ever get the opportunity to speak to him. I have been trying to find how I could contact him by writing. I had a pretty unusual encounter with him in 1983 that I wanted ask him about. I realize he must have thousands of fans who had a moment with him but mine was different enough that he may remember. It involved granting him a favor. In fact I would wager the circumstances were so unique had never happened before or since. As such just may have stuck in his mind.
This is the most heart-warming reaction I've seen.. to anything really. I absolutely LOVE how much you love and enjoy hearing this amazing Zep track for the first time. The band members are each masters of their craft, and a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of such talent. 💗💗
When you go to California someday, make your way to the west coast Hwy 1 to Big Sur. Camp at Pfeiffer State Park with the redwood trees on one side and the beach on the other side while listening to Led Zepplin ❤
They were so unique and mystical and mysterious in their music, true master's all four of them. I like the reaction of this couple, and love their appreciation and admiration for Led Zeppelin's incredible music.
Yes, indeed….They knew that they were something special….They knew how good they were…..In interviews then and now….they speak of knowing this. The best classic rock band of the 70’s.
The secret to Led Zeppelin is the chemistry between it's member's and the instruments they play. Great reaction. I suggest No Quarter live from MSG, another powerful song you two will enjoy.
You guys are great. Zep used to sell out arenas by themselves and play for 2 or 3 hours without any other bands on the ticket. We got to see them twice.
Plant has an amazing voice! And I the Page is the best guitarist! Plant and Page wrote most of their songs and Page produced them! All 4 of these men were masters of the art!
I think you would like to listen to The Rain Song it’s to me probably the most beautiful song ever written. It’s about the ups and downs of a relationship through the seasons. And listen to the studio version if not they have a live version with Song Remains the Same write into the Rain Song that is epic
This led Zeppelin song was inspired by Joni Mitchell the female artist. Robert plant was infatuated with her. At least that's what I've read. When the mountains and canyons start to tremble and shake! Friends when you live here in California that means earthquake😊. Standing on a hill with a mountain of dreams That's the feeling you get when you're trying to do something big in California❤
I’m ADORING your Zeppelin journey. You are really “getting” the mystique and charisma of the band. They deliberately nurtured that air of mystery about themselves …..no TV appearances, very few interviews……If you wanted to see them, you had to go to a concert. they allowed the “legend” to grow around themselves. Off stage, they were VERY private people. It made them bigger than life….and later, a rather dark and dangerous air about them. If you got too close, you might get singed. The downside to being such mysterious icons is that, after the band died in 1980 with Bonham’s death, it was difficult for Page, and most especially Robert Plant, to reinvent himself as a solo artist and move out of the huge shadow that Zeppelin cast. He has had a successful solo career for 40 years, but it hasn’t always been easy.
Led Zeppelin wasnt about just banging on instruments, there was art and feeling in all their songs. It is really enjoyable watching peoples reactions when they hear one of their songs for the first time.
I come from a little place called kidderminster in the uk. If you know you know as they say. In my little mind, zeppelin is a kidderminster band, well maybe Stourbridge, if you talk to Rob Plant, bless him. I grew up with this band and their family in lots of ways. They were great memories. One of the best bands ever and from the Midlands uk 😅❤
Hello again, I'm from Portugal and this is the 7th time I'm going to ask for your reaction to Noidz-strange way of life, I guarantee you've never heard😊
@@BradJames878 Jimmy was also a session musician. Robert & Jimmy both said that JP is the real deal, and maybe he's not a "Rock God," but he does deserve respect as a very talented musician. Thanks for the back n forth BradJames keep rockin' and have a great day/night ✌️😎
Watching your genuine surprise and joy you as you continue your Led Zeppelin journey is amazing - gives ‘old’ fans like me the closest to first time listening experience possible and it’s such a joy, ty
That's The Way (my gem too) and Bron-Y-Aur-Stomp would be the next 2 songs from this 3-piece acoustic set from the Earl's Court concert in 1975. All 3 are also on the official CD How The West Was Won 1972, 16' easy unique, but from 2 different concerts. Thank you very much ❤, just keep going 👍.
Zeppelin has so many different styles and they’re so talented. Loved your reaction. You guys should react to their song Since I’ve been loving you off of Led Zeppelin 3 or the same song live at Madison square garden 1973.

This is why when people say Zeppelin is a metal band or a hard rock band they are mistaken. At most they are blues, but really they played just about everything. Enjoy Zeppelin, the era of super groups like this is sadly over. Nothing like this will come our way again. And maybe its OK, because if everybody did this then it would not be special.
This is simply the best acoustic song ever written.

I think this is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. Robert's voice is amazing and because he is sitting still I can feast my eyes on him.
Yeah, it you can’t see that big python he’s packing below the belt!😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe mine also.
Led Zeppelin was on a completely different plane than anyone else.
Big time.
You will LOVE The Rain Song!! One of Jimmy Page’s best compositions (in my humble opinion). George Harrison commented that Zeppelin didn’t have any ballads, The Rain Song was Jimmy’s reply…😎
"Each song is better than the last". Well put. This is why they are the greatest rock band ever.
I was overjoyed to watch your reaction...such joy on both your faces experiencing the greatness that is Zep. Their diversity is amazing....
You haven’t heard ANYTHING until you’ve heard ALL of Led Zeppelin-then, you’ve heard EVERYTHING.

This is what I call the Robert effect……❤
He was referring to California in the early 70's. Definitely not now
I love Robert's smile at the end, he knew he nailed it.

As much as you love Zepp I was wondering if you saw Amy Lee Cover this it is amazing Im curious of your take on it
@garya7893
Amy Lee has a gorgeous voice that gives Plant a run for his money but the rest of it can't compare to Page and Jones.
