Poor people have a hard time to invest in any way. Saving money is almost impossible, making great choices isn't easy, long-term planning isn't viable.
Getting a new job, working hard and seizing opportunities are possible choices. But even that doesn't make you not poor for sure. The working poor are a thing for a reason. And it's not that they are all just less intelligent than the rich.

      ‭Hebrews 2:1-18 NKJV‬
[1] Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. [2] For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, [3] how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, [4] God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? [5] For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels. [6] But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? [7] You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. [8] You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. [9] But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. [10] For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. [11] For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, [12] saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.” [13] And again: “I will put My trust in Him.” And again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.” [14] Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, [15] and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. [16] For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. [17] Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. [18] For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
      bible.com/bible/114/heb.2.1-18.NKJV
      ‭Psalms 23:1-6 NKJV‬
[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. [3] He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. [4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
      bible.com/bible/114/psa.23.1-6.NKJV
      ‭Philippians 2:1-30 NKJV‬
[1] Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, [2] fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. [3] Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. [4] Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. [5] Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, [6] who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, [7] but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. [8] And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. [9] Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, [11] and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; [13] for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. [14] Do all things without complaining and disputing, [15] that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, [16] holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. [17] Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. [18] For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me. [19] But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. [20] For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. [21] For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. [22] But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel. [23] Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me. [24] But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly. [25] Yet I considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, but your messenger and the one who ministered to my need; [26] since he was longing for you all, and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick. [27] For indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. [28] Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful. [29] Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem; [30] because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.

@@cjhoward409 @Cj Howard ehh no it does not work that way. Carbs consist of 3 groups: sugar, starch, and cellulose. These groups are also called saccharides. There are four different types of saccharides: monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides.
Simple sugars, monosaccharides, and more complex sugars like lactose, disaccharides,, are quickly processed by the body. This creates a fast energy spike, but as fast as it goes up it also comes crashing down.
Starch, a polysaccharide, takes more time to be processed which creates a slower growth in energy.
Your body turns all forms of carbs into glucose, which the body needs for energy. There are no ''healthy'' carbs like you describe, that is misinformation. Cashew nuts like you described contain starch. Bread also contains starch (just like pasta). Both foods have the exact same effect on your body (as long as the bread is not sweetened, but normal bread is not sweetened).
Your body needs both simple sugars and also starch. It is not healthy to skip neither of these groups. The last part you write is true, the problem is that in our current society we consume way to much simple sugars. It is best to limit this intake. But there is nothing unhealthy about eating bread, especially whole grain. In fact, it is part of a healthy diet. I dón't need to be educated by what appears to be some misinformed hippie, I have studied this subject as part of my bachelor. I believe in science.
And lastly, gluten does not have to do with any of this because they are protein...

Now regarding the processing of sugar, for example, coconut sugar is most often made with a natural 2-step process.
Cane sugar begins with a similar process to coconut sugar (the "juice" is extracted from sugar canes by crushing compared to tapping sap from coconut palm, the nectar being the "juice") + boiling to crystallize the sugar then crystals are separated, but there are typically a lot of steps after the fact to remove impurities in sugar cane.
Both are processed. One is typically much less so.

I think it depends on what kinds of alternatives are used. There are some gf breads that even when toasted, would seem to have the texture of sponges. The gf breads are also more dense so open faced or very filled half sandwiches are satisfying.
Some of the replacement flours have more protein than the over processed enriched flours, too, giving a person more satiety.
Making foods at home is always better for cost effectiveness and higher nutrients.
After growing up with undiagnosed cough variant asthma, where a cold could make me sound like a 2 pak a day smoker for weeks on into my 40's.. I was SO glad to discover gf as I no longer cough. Think of all the maladies that aren't as visible that may be taking away a quality of life that could otherwise be enjoyed..
And stay away from any gf product that uses microcrystalline cellulose. It can be very irritating to the gut - causing cramps and so on.
The book Dangerous Grains can elaborate on specifics.
And why he promotes any sugar is beyond me as anything processed for sweetness can spike insulin.

Large quantities of sugar cause inflammation whether you eat it in Apples or tablespoons it’s the same. It’s just a lot harder to eat that quantity of sugar in apples vs in a can of cola.
It’s the same with the bullshit about inflammatory oils. The inflammation caused by some oils is due to improper cooking. Overheating unsaturated fats (basically burning not “smoking”) can create aldehydes that are toxic to the human body. It’s easier to do that with Margarine or sunflower oil and harder with olive oil or butter (but still possible). Reusing oils is the no.1 culprit of this and is why fast food is so bad because fryer oil is constantly overheated and reused.

The best way to avoid this is just to eat regular fruits for your sugar fix, and cut out prepackaged baked goods like cookies and sweet snacks entirely. That way you get all of the nutrients within the fruit and less additives as well as not spending a lot with the shrinkflation on all processed food. If you look at discount stores sometimes you may find frozen fruit for cheaper than fresh. This is better than wasting money at a cafe when you feel like having a smoothie and you can control the sugar level. Grocery outlet sometimes has baggies for like 5 bucks and I have even found organic frozen stuff there that would be 15 bucks at wholefoods. I even found 1lb of really good yellow guavas for like 3 bucks which lasted me a week and a half. I even forage wild fruits and when I see some growing over a fence it's fair game. Healthy doesnt have to be super pricey. Sometimes you gotta put in effort to look for deals and have the discipline not to just grab a processed snack. Which no joke it can be hard to do if you are used to relying on convenience foods to save time vs money or if you just feel lazy that day or mom never showed you. Sugar addiction is SO FN HARD TO QUIT. I've done keto once, and no added sugar foods for the last year, and man. It is crazy the difference from last year of how much stuff I can't have. Like, I was walking down the cereal aisle today on the way to the meat counter for some proteins, and I was like dang, one bowl of cereal would be like 3 days of sugar for me now lol 😅
Also: Frugal healthy tip: if you can afford bacon or a fatty cut of pork or beef, save all of your grease ALL OF IT in some type of glass or ceramic container. Stuff it in the back of the fridge and it will last forever. Use it in place of veggie oil or canola. It makes the flavor much better and animal fats are not nearly as bad for you as processed seed oils. I primarily use bacon grease and olive oil. I try not to steal my aunt's butter lol but I do use butter when I rarely bake. You can get enough grease to last months from just a few times of making bacon. Get the bacon on sale prices only and avoid any added sugar and bacon binging haha.
    Use it in:
    -Eggs. DUH.
    -Fry those taters up!
    -Use in seasoned rice.
-Add to something like pea or broccoli soup.
-Fry your old stale tortillas and tortilla chips in it to make them more crunchy and edible again. You can even toast a grilled cheese in a little bit.
-Beans made fresh soaked overnight and simmered with the grease (bulk beans are a little cheaper than canned). You can make bomb refried beans and rice at home for cheap this way too.
-Mustard greens mixed with salt, pepper and onion (garlic if you can spare a clove). Sautee them like spinach with the bacon grease for a good side dish. These greens are sometimes forageable from the wild too depending on where you live and once cooked they are not that spicy depending on the time when picked. This might be cheaper than other greens at the store too. It's almost foraging time here in socal! Oh, did I mention the flowers are edible and you can cook them in the grease too?
-Well pretty much any wild edible greens really.
-Sautee mushrooms bought in bulk instead of the plastic containers. Excellent low carb option if you are only and it can even be a complete entree if the mushrooms are big enough. Season to taste and serve with rice if you need carbs! (Only pick wild shrooms with an expert, dont risk it!!)
-Season your cast iron with it instead of spray
-Use on squeaky stuff like a door hinge in a pinch lol
I hope this saves someone money. I'm unemployed on ebt after my boss decided not to pay me, so I make every meal from scratch and I know the struggle. 😊

So far, no one has answered my question. I have a type 1 diabetic kiddo and can assure you maple syrup or honey has the same effect on his blood sugar as cane sugar. But if you really sick it’s worth it. In fairness though, it cost me because all of the restrictive foods can be made another way but you pay for it and it’s not cheap. For example on the AIP diet you aren’t allowed tomatoes. Well I love catchup so I purchased FAUX catch up and it was $12 a bottle so that just gives you an example. If you want to go on an AIP diet and not replace all of your restricted foods with these types of substitutions, then it probably would be a lot more affordable.

For example, maple, manuka honey and coconut sugar are one of the most beneficial for our bodies because it has vitamins, which counteracts the sugar so our body can absorb it and not be inflamed like processed sugars. And I never understand why people won’t do research… regular honey is basically like sugar water and Manuka honey is like the best honey out there, so that’s why it’s so expensive. It’s because it has healing properties and neutralises the amount of bad bacteria in our body. Regarding the sugar, all sugars are literally the same regardless of the source whether it's fructose, glucose or what have you, the body can't tell the difference. Regarding the oils, I'm not familiar with the claim about the heat processing during manufacture, but I defenitely know that the alternatives he mentioned are not "anti-inflammatory". There's a difference between something "non-inflammatory" vs "anti-inflammatory", the latter of which is what he's claiming the alternatives are. If a claim is made that one food is healthier than another the metric of evaluation must be specified. It's just like the people that arbitrarily claim that Himalayan pink salt is better than regular table salt without saying why, or how, or if those same health benefits can be acquired through other means. A hundred years ago the only place you'd find canola oil is in a mechanics shop. Now I can even buy a bag of raisins or a can of tuna that doesn't have a little bit of sunflower oil to it. Your channel is for rich people and hipsters. What’s really the simple swap is No flour, NO sugar, butter or grease from cooking instead of expensive organic hipster oils. You’d be healthier this way. I think I’m unsubscribing because you’re like a broken record. Of course the thing 2x as expensive is healthier, that is obvious.

My jaw dropped when he said coconut sugar. ALL sugar is inflammatory. This is inflammation 101. Jesus Christ.

I have noticed a difference in menstrual pain and inflammation since cutting out pasta and corn syrup but demonizing carbs is overkill. It's the excessive refined stuff that causes issues. Unless you have a gluten allergy. A cup of tea, some potatoes or something like that and the occasional sandwich isn't going to kill you.

There is no reason to avoid gluten unless you have celiac disease. Some of the information you put out can be misleading.
