I bought my 3rd gen trd sport for $39k and my 4th gen SR was $38.5k. The SR has more features than the 2022 trd sport had. No one has their facts straight and just want to talk trash.
@@erichewitt890 Obviously you’re not a Toyota mechanic
@@Doc1855 you’re right I’m not a Toyota mechanic but I am a mechanic for the last 25 years. What does that have anything to do with the fact that everything you said in your comment is a contradiction? I’m just a consumer that has my facts straight. Your truck was built in Mexico dude.
@@erichewitt890 Our Master Toyota mechanic has told me that they’re having a Lot of problems with the Tacoma Turbos but the biggest problem is with both the automatic and manual transmissions. Since there are no transmissions available in the USA some owners are waiting for 6-8 months for another one.
I waited 6 months for mine
@@Doc1855 I’m on several 4th gen Tacoma owners groups on Facebook and have yet to hear of one single turbo issue or any engine related issue for that matter. I’m aware of some documented early build automatic transmission failures which I will agree is unacceptable but you would need to look back to the start of the 3rd gen in 2016 and see how many automatic transmission failures there were on the 6spd to be fair. There haven’t been any documented cases of manual transmission failures on the new Tacoma. From everything I’ve been able to gather, that is an internet hoax. Every new generation of vehicle will have its problems. It just pisses me off that everyone wants to hate on the new generation of Tacoma because it was assembled in Mexico which I pointed out is and has been the assembly plant for all Tacomas since 2020, and that it has a 4cyl turbo engine. So what! 40+ years of forced induction on passenger vehicles have proven to be reliable provided they’re properly maintained, and you’d really have to drive one to see for yourself that it is better than the 3.5 in every way.
IFORCE MAX has my interest, by until the fix the pricing, I will be keeping my 22' Off Road, my second Tacoma (had a sport 19' as well)
family 2007 Tundra, running strong at my folks ranch 211k miles.
Sounds like you’ll eventually buy one. Might want to wait a couple more years for quality control issues to get sorted.
I've got a 2004 Tacoma pre-runner extended cab with 215,000 mi on it and so if Toyota would get their act together and make another compact truck with a 6-ft bed they got a buyer right here and I bet you there's thousands, tens of thousands of people like me that are just waiting for a truck to use for work .
The rear quarter panel sucks! The rear quarter panel is unfinished 💩
I used to own a '87 Toyo 4x4 base model regular cab short bed with the 22R 4 banger with a 5 speed. Manual hubs to lock in for the 4wd. Ran great over the 5 years i owned it. The styling back in the mid to late 80's was angular making look like a truck. Good fuel mileage it gave me. The current generation is ugly did away with the 6 banger for this turbocharged 4 that's not holding up plus a jacked up sticker price. All I can say is no thanks Toyota. Your trucks can sit there and become Lot Rot!
Haha. I have one too, except it’s an ‘85.
New Corolla GR = FAIL (self-combusting engines)
New Tacoma = FAIL (cheap disposable turbo 4, auto/manual transmission failures, Mexican-made)
New Tundra/Sequoia = FAIL (Catastrophic turbo V6 engine failures, recalls galore)
New Lexus = FAIL (Catastrophic turbo engine failures)
New V35A V6 = Absolute FAIL (Recalled: Poor design and manufacturing)
New BZ4X & other BEVs = FAIL, FAIL, FAIL
Oh, how the mighty have fallen....

@@craigslistseller9354 fanboys cannot deny this list, but they will try to anyway, by claiming other brands are just as bad.
@@jeanclaude7018 I call them ToyoTuRDs. 😄
@@craigslistseller9354 Toyota is a phenomenon. Chevrolet could not sell the No-va in Mexico because of the embarrassing name, but Toyota can proudly paste TuRD stickers on , and the fanboys swarm like flies to, umm, TuRDs!
From iconic to comic, certainly. I have owned 8 toyota trucks going back to 1983, this is the end of the road Toyota. Turbo engines not good. The 4.6,4.7, 5.7 are iforce engines, don’t call a 4 cyl an iforce. The 22RE, the 4 cylinder after that and the 2.7 Re great 4 bangers, this new creature is something else.
V6 Tacoma is a much better truck. I’d take that black 2022 TRD any day
Will still be going down the road while these new generation Tacomas are in the shop with pricy repairs..

This looks like the Toyota dealership here in Las Vegas. They have nothing but really high priced trucks on the lot.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck seems to be well liked by owners I have talked to, mostly hauling air and the occasional kayak
I see plenty of full size pickups with camper shells installed lol.
They have zero trucks on the local Toyota dealership where I live…they also have zero RAV 4 hybrids, and pretty much zero hybrids of any model….it’s ridiculous.
A 4 cylinder truck? No F N Way! Almost 60 thousand?
Why does everyone blame automakers for high vehicles prices? The UAW makes constant wage increase demands, and the government continues to place more and more burdensome regulations on the auto industry. Too much government involvement in anything always causes problems. Think about this the next time you vote. You may be contributing to the problem.
You are right about the government part, but the UAW isn’t in Mexico last time I checked. These Toyota products are all made in Mexico now.
Voting is fake and gay
What's the best way to determine the length of time a dealer had the truck in its inventory? Any chance you could share this? Thanks!
I have the 2018 2.7 access and I love it at $ 28,500 Canadian or 22,000 US.My truck ONLY weighs in a 4,000 pounds. The new ones are a fiortune and with the battery they now weigh 6,600 pounds and a turbo that ends the engine early. The new 8 speed transmission is very unreliable according to people. The havy weight means that the MPG........ is not improved ??
BUY the nissain Frontier with the 3.3 engine as it is relaiable as the 2018 Tacoma.
Wanted to add another rig along side my 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas but the new one is expensive and has too many problems.
I was thinking of a Tundra, owned one for my business years ago, but with their current engine problems, I decided to keep my Subaru Outback. Tacoma's all have short beds in my area. Plus the trans is a hot mess.
You’re better off getting a GMC or Chevy work truck with the 5.3L & 8ft bed. F-150 with 5.0 work truck is hard to find. If you want a regular spec, get a Titan while you still can.
Depends on what area you live in, the ladies love the pathfinders and rogue. I'm in the minority with my 23 pathfinder. Once the dealer gets a pathfinder or rogue, it's like pulling teeth buying one, they sell fast.. Nissan went down hill with quality, but we love the pathfinder, and no CVT.
Pure junk!
That I can agree with 100 %!
58 for a Tacoma? Not enough truck there for that!
My 23 TRD is worth more today than what I paid for it
It's the power plant on both the new Tundras and Tacomas that's the issue. They just don't have the gusto and reliability of the former generation. And no I wouldn't pay that much for either.
Tundras are having engine failures, Tacoma are having transmission failures.
I would not pay 58k, not even 48k and probably not 38k....
$60k.... Aaaaaahhhh Hhhaaaaa Hhaaaa Hhhaaaaa Aaaaaahhhh Haaaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaa 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
I'm good on the new Tacoma... Keeping the RELIABLE 3rd gen! Them prices are 10-15K to high
30 months ago a Tundra TRD PRO was $51,000 and that was with 4 years of ramping up the price to transition into the new $78,000 Tundra TRD PRO. Stupid!
I like the design of the new ones, I just don't like, lack of engine options, engine recalls, turbo charged and to top it all off, we get to pay more. I feel like the RnD team just said F it, let's release a new untested model to make everyone beta testers. I've owned turbocharged vehicles in the past. They require more maintenance. So now we have to buy more stuff to make the car functional, every 3-5k miles. It's a truck, not a sports car. If they gave truck guys a dependable, naturally aspirated engine at a reasonable price, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lot!
It’s sad but their engineering team worked on these trucks for years. I’m a systems engineer and know their processes very well. They blew it. Sucks but it happens.
6:35 Purple??? Looks blue to me...
Go look at one in person when you can, you’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s a purple blue mix.
In person Blue Crush looks Deep Royal Blue, which has a moderate Purple Hue.
Takes 8 months to get a Tacoma in Canada, every toyota is on back order here
People will be waiting around for a major disappointment.
I bought a 2024 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium nine months ago brand new for $45,200. That’s a deal compared to the asinine price of this new Tacoma.
You can get a new Corvette for almost the same price of a Tundra.
Where are the trucks to haul fire wood and top soil?
We'll drive our vehicles until the wheels fall off.
Nissan is loving this.
Nissan is struggling. Don't kid yourself
@@sokratzmmf Frontiers are flying off the lot.
International sales,the truck line,not available in USA,sells.
Toyota americas truck sales are a dumpster fire.
Nissan is struggling hard lol. They're only kept afloat in the US because of the Nissan Rogue. The Tacoma is still outselling the Frontier as of Q2 lol. Go watch TFLs video on Q2 sales.
Toyota doesn't even MAKE trucks.
Car + Truck = Cuck.
Car manufacturers do as they please because we just bail them out with OUR tax money
It’s a game to them
How much are they marking them up?
These new Tacos aren't built to last. They're built to be replaced every 3 years. More profits for Toyota & its stockholders.
55k for a Mexican-made plastic truck? What a joke!
Your money is MUCH better spent on Black Myth: Wukong
Maybe federal government market intervention is contributing to this?
