But my idea in the near future is to visit my daughter who lives in Calgary for a bit, get used to driving on the wrong side of the road, and do a long trip to the States. What model of reliable used vehicle can I get that might be good for the job? Don't forget I'm British so have driven some real crap in my time...so long as it keeps working lol. Or, would it make more sense to just hire a cheap car?
Yes rentals and Turo are not able to cross the border. The best cars for these trips that will make it reliably are Mazdas, Hondas or Toyotas. We drove our Honda da Civic and our Toyota Camry to California this summer. Be careful though, depending on when you want to go, you may encounter storms as there are some big elevation changes
These days all cars have reliability issues especially turbo charged smaller engines plus transmission and electrical problems. I’ve decided as they only make them to hopefully last the warranty it is best to buy new.
Hello 👋, Please if possible to have a Review on every company separately from small cars to pick up truck what to avoid and what to jump on it if possible to start with Honda and Toyota thanks 🙏
Had a 2006 Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 Diesel and I concur that part prices are ridiculous. They cost the same a Mercedes. Gearbox was bulletproof and often reported as one of the best Mercedes made. Not sure about the newer ones.
Some condescending BEV owners tell me I drive shit boxes like my 12 CT200h and 11 Acccord coupe 4 cylinder. I told them shit boxes are those vehicles that crap out and are so expensive to maintain. After 12 years, they'll be owning paper weights or if they sell sooner, lose so much on depreciation because battery replacement isn't being made available at reasonable costs. Any non OEM battery will not last that long.
Yeah the people who buy cars are concerned about engine reliability and maintenance costs, but manufacturers+ dealers are more concerned with paint jobs, and clean interiors. A complete disconnect.
Chrome trim, gingerbread and garnish are cheap from a manufacturer’s standpoint. Durability and build quality cost money and these brands just refuse to invest in that. Never will. There’s an ass for every seat!
VW had SO much potential, but they now make garbage cars and SUV's! That wasn't the case years ago. The best vehicle VW ever made was the Mk4 GTI VR6 and GLI VR6, with the second gen 24v VR6. How do I know? My daily driver for the past 22 years... yes, I repeat TWENTY TWO YEARS, is my 2003 GTI VR6! It has a 6-speed manual, naturally aspirated six, and i've had NO major issues with this car in all those years! The only mechanical issue was when the cooling fan went at around 110,000 miles. This car has been more reliable than a Toyota! I can't believe it!
As always an enlightening video. What could you tell me about the reliability of a 2017/20 Ford Mustang GT? I'm interested in buying one and all advice is welcome Best regards from Spain.
Reliability was always key for me. Now I see prices way more than people should pay for a car and reliability gone. Amazing how companies will take advantage of silly people.
Fantastic video! I have incurred so much losses trading on my own....I trade well on demo but I think the real market is manipulated.... Can anyone help me out or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong??
Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face looses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies.
If you are trading without a professional guide... Ah, I laugh, because you will stay where you are or even suffer huge losses that will prevent you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problems for new traders.
I've never been in the business of car manufacturers and knew when the electric cars took precedent that they would all go bankrupt. I knew that. I'm not paid to know that, but I was smarter than the people paid big bucks to know better.
Stick with either toyota or honda. My co worker's 2023 chrysler pacifica Faulty Wiring in the transmission and my other Co wokrer's 2022 hyundai santa fe already having problems with the transmission. I have 2011 toyota corolla S no major problems and runs like new. Why are people buying those brands ? Lol
Car quality it is what it is. Planned obsolescence at its best and, drivers.. that can't drive and mantain cars properly. Just adds to the catastrophic mix.😅
I mean let's be honest: NO ONE buys these cars unless they are leased, they don't care about money, or they have absolutely no idea what they are buying and just see it as "cheap" luxury. I have spent crazy amounts on my Toyota fun cars that I don't need to, but I ONLY do so because I know they are worth it and they will in turn STAY reliable for me in the long run. I do not mess around with trash anymore and when I pour money into my cars now, I know it's an investment, not a patch.
Wow my best UA-cam reviewer, always on point

Well…..
Thank you Sir, for this valuable information. May God bless you.
The grand Cherokee 3.6 v6 gas engine has a ton of problems too. Plastic engine parts. Stretching timing chains. My sister in law had tons of issues with a 6 she had and she just bought a Durango. Again. Same car different skin. And the air suspension ones are garbage. Always fails over and over
4 rings of despair! That's awesome! 🤣
Haha
Six years ago, I almost purchased a brand new Jag for its gorgeous looks, luxurious interior, and dynamic performance. Fortunately, I looked up reliability data before writing the check! I dodged a thermonuclear cannonball! Always do your homework before dropping $$$$$$.
I'm keeping my 2.5L five cylinder Ford Focus ST. Simple, reliable and quick enough...
Peppy
Yep, same in NZ with some great roads for the 6 speed manual
Greetings from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I don't know the King and Queen of England lol. Nor do I know what is popular in Canada.
That Rover looked kinda good static 😂
Nice
These days all cars have reliability issues especially turbo charged smaller engines plus transmission and electrical problems. I’ve decided as they only make them to hopefully last the warranty it is best to buy new.
I know all your information is true but it pays for me to hear it again as I tend to get weak when it comes to buying a car.
Thinking about getting a new Toyota Highlander
They are reliable and very practical. I personally prefer the V6 from a couple years ago
Nice video. What’s your thoughts on buying a 2023 Audi Q5 from long term reliability and cost of ownership standpoint? Thanks
If someone remade the old VW bug w/o all the electronics, we Might buy it now, leaving the new junk at the dealers!
Cheers
....and so I will keep driving my 25-year-old Lexus with 206,000 miles. I still may buy a used Model Y if the price is right. Good video!
Hello 👋, Please if possible to have a Review on every company separately from small cars to pick up truck what to avoid and what to jump on it if possible to start with Honda and Toyota thanks 🙏
Yes thats a great idea
Had a 2006 Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 Diesel and I concur that part prices are ridiculous. They cost the same a Mercedes. Gearbox was bulletproof and often reported as one of the best Mercedes made. Not sure about the newer ones.
That is a good, honest analysis. Can you do a review on the 2025 Chevy Tahoe?
Nice vehicles and Rocker issues but I will see if I can get one
so much alligned with you and so true, cars are made today for leasing and then junckyard
Bingo
Don’t forget the overland has 4 air bag suspension. Good luck changing those out. Right around 4k
For dodge its sellable if u add the "S" into RT or the cat logo
"The 4 Rings of Despair." LOL
Haha indeed
Yeah the people who buy cars are concerned about engine reliability and maintenance costs, but manufacturers+ dealers are more concerned with paint jobs, and clean interiors. A complete disconnect.
It rally is. My mechanic has told me he does not care about the cosmetics of his own car but the mechanicals are perfect and looked after.
Fr. Volkswagen lost their potential.
I was so hoping the VR6 or at least the Spektrum would come back for the GTI/R send-off. But they did a whole lot of nothing
As always an enlightening video.
What could you tell me about the reliability of a 2017/20 Ford Mustang GT? I'm interested in buying one and all advice is welcome
Best regards from Spain.
Reliability was always key for me. Now I see prices way more than people should pay for a car and reliability gone. Amazing how companies will take advantage of silly people.
Great video! When it comes to the Jeep GC, should people stay away from just the diesel version, or is the gas 3.6L V6 model also an issue?
Love my Taos just can believe they don't make um like they use too..
What nice car do you recommend other than Lexus? A4? Thanks.
My nephew lease those vehicles drive shit out of them then returns them to the dealership and returned to driving his Toyota😂
Exactly go with what works
Good luck buying any newer, tech-bloated vehicle as a used (& probably abused) vehicle.
I think l'm blessed if not I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as expert mrs Fenella..
Highly recommended
Wow, I'm surprised to see Fenella mentioned here as well. I didn't know she had been kind to so many people
I'm also a huge beneficiary of her..
I thought myself and my family were
the only ones enjoying Fenella
trade benefits
I love this channel!!
Thank you very much for the support
The Dodge Durango was great trucks until Stalants f u ked the overall quality all the while increasing the price.
Yes I agree, I had an older SLT and it was great. Now they look like minvans., and the quality is not there either.
"Who's gonna by that?"
😅😅
Well…..
Your best and funniest video ever. Schantz.also my son bought raised bmw with the b58
That's awesome. Hope you have a great weekend.
I've never been in the business of car manufacturers and knew when the electric cars took precedent that they would all go bankrupt. I knew that. I'm not paid to know that, but I was smarter than the people paid big bucks to know better.
Ur videos are great right to the point ..what about porsche cayenne s v8 2013 are they any good or reliable? Thank you and keep going 👌
Thanks for sharing
you are welcome
$1500 oil change…really? I honestly don’t know
The service is not cheap as I found out owning a Jaguar myself
Yes , the Four Rings of Despair.
Haha
Well analyzed. Nods in agreement .
How about a 'tube on the 3 cylinder cars out there, like the Buick Envista.
Lol
Some people will still by these cars because they don’t know they’re trash
More people need to join the channel to get the real deal
What cars are left to buy
Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Acura, Lexus, Porsche, 4-6 cyl BMWs, 5 cyl Audis, Ls powered cars, and many others, there is a lot of junk out there though
@@ECPPMitsubishi Outlander??
Ford lost $13 billion by owning Jaguar and Range Rover.
Great content!
Thank you very much
Did the SK E begin the end?
well....
The Aldi is like a good looking girl that you don't want to date😂
Thanks
Car quality it is what it is. Planned obsolescence at its best and, drivers.. that can't drive and mantain cars properly. Just adds to the catastrophic mix.😅
yes it does
This guy is absolutely mad. "Volkswagen barely in business" it's literally the biggest automotive manufacturer on earth! 😂😂
Where are you from ? Here in USA or Canada VW vehicles are made in Mexico ,poor made car
@bojan80 I'm talking about Volkswagen the company. It's irrelevant where you are.
Aren't all US cars made in Mexico including Toyotas?
Jeep is a typo. One key to the left and it's Heep.
Its not if it breaks its when 😮😮😢😢😢😊
I mean let's be honest: NO ONE buys these cars unless they are leased, they don't care about money, or they have absolutely no idea what they are buying and just see it as "cheap" luxury.
I have a 2015 Lexus ES350 with 110k miles and still run like new.
Those will go for half million miles or more… be sure to watch the toyota lexus guy for maintenance tips
