Toyota has put hard working people out of the market. With that being said people have other priorities. In these times vs buying an overpriced vehicle.
Supply vs. Demand imbalance coming back in balance is normal, and good to see. My brother-in-law bought a new Camry for $13k in late 2008 when everyone was avoiding Toyota like the plague (sudden acceleration concern and recession). Had zero problem with it and just traded it in last year.
My local small Toyota dealer has 8 Tacoma's in stock right now and they are being discounted $2K online. May not sound like a lot but this place historically is lucky to have one or two Tacoma's on the lot and those are usually less desirable trims. They also have 22 Tundra's which is unheard of for them. IMO the discounts don't really matter because they've raised the MSRP's so much that even with the discounts it's still way more expensive than 1-2 years ago. The auto manufacturers don’t have a say on what the dealerships can price their cars, that’s why it’s a Manufacturers Suggested Retail price. Toyota doesn’t produce as much inventory as the US auto manufacturers. Toyota is the number one selling company here. They keep their inventories low which creates a demand. The dealerships take advantage of low supply higher demand. Cut out the middleman, the dealerships and go to direct sales like Tesla does.

This is the perfect storm of overpriced vehicles + recalls + high rates... soooo happy I bought a Raptor last year instead of a Tundra!
The Raptor is the superior truck for sure. 👌 I’ve owned both.
buy USA !way to go.
my local dealer only has Tundras at 2k off and they have quite a few of them .
Any Toyota turbo engine are junk, the transmission are junk and also the electronic 4-wheeler drive system as well
The GR Yaris and Corolla engine is quite nice actually
just their new trucks and suv. toyota has had many reliable turbo cars.
Now it's the Tundra's turn, and it's just a matter of time before the Tacoma's up. Really sucks.
@MissDemeanor-1 How easily they screwed up the reputation they spent years building.
Even they drops 25k i would not touch it with a ten foot pole. Bad quality control and outrageous prices. Just ridiculous!!
Wow, an obsolete 65 inch Panasonic television that was bought on clearance. I guess it will come in handy while my Tundra is in the shop for a few months.
Getting the 3.5L V6 is one of the two reasons I got my 2023 Tacoma ACLB TRD Off Road January 2024, the other is the Access Cab doors. My Dad and I were out picking up supplies for the apartment we have to renovate today (22June24) and I drove by a brand new 2024 Tacoma Xtra Cab SR (probably 4x2) and thought he/she (it was parked) paid more than I did for a TRD OR.
I’m trying to figure out a way to add a 5th Gen 4Runner to the house. My biggest regret was selling my 2022 4Runner TRD OR-Premium w/KDSS & MTM with only 950 miles. I was doing Rideshare driving and the 12mpg I was getting, killed me @$3.86/gallon (Nov 2021 Costco Honolulu gas price).
Hopefully Toyota learns that the msrp was way too high. The 3rd gen taco trd pro has the same msrp as the 4th gen sr5
In what states are they doing this because in some parts of California no dealer I've seen is discounting any of their Tundras.
maybe 10,000 off MSRP no addendum then maybe I would take a look but right now I tow a lot so I’m gonna be holding onto my 2021 don’t need to be breaking down with my camper.
People are finally starting to listen to what we all have been saying. At the current MSRP, it’s just unaffordable for most people, when you factor in other financial obligations. As I have said in the pass. Taking care of one’s family is more important than some temporary gratification these vehicles will bring you. Along with the recalls that are occuring . I have said it in the past. Let them sit on the dealership lots and rust before you buy one. I like the Toyota brand without ever having owning one, but I believe with these newer models they may have overplayed their hands. They will either go back to the drawing board and fix this, or watch their reputation for reliability and dependability continue to take a beating.
Holding high value for many years was Toyotas #1 sales incentive. Do we really think a turbo truck resale value will stay high after 8 yrs and 100k miles? 0%
The way these trucks are priced it wouldn't matter if they offer 0% financing. I wouldn't pay 80 grand for a truck to have it worth less than 1/2 that in 4 years and the way these things are built they are going to be pretty junky at that time. My thinking does not align with Toyota's price structure. GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks man. I’m with you… something has got to give. These trucks are built to a lesser standard and priced to the moon. It’s a shame.
A TV? I bought a Toyota Supra in Texas in 1994. They threw in a free Browning deer gun as an incentive.
Just went with a last year Nissan Titan (loaded pro-4x in Baja storm) for about 10k below msrp (so around 5k below invoice) at 0% for 60mo. Depreciation is brutal on them but I plan on keeping it because they seem about rock solid as the 2nd gen tundra. I got a lifetime extended warranty along free oil changes for life with it as well.
Hey Jeff....could you tell me more about the lifetime extended warranty? Do you
pay the same price at the end of each warranty period? Not sure how that works.
Thanks
Still 80k for Sequoia, or Tundra ....lmfao All those prices will need to come down to 35k-40k before stealerships see any positive sales.
they can take that Mexican 4cyl truck and shove it.
The Tacoma has been made in Mexico for like 20 years now and the drivetrain is made in Alabama, but I guess you have to vent somehow.
@@ambienteterrazas My 2014 was made in San Antonio. I didn’t care where it was made until NOW. Was planning on buying a 2024 but NOT a Mexican made version.
Buy it if you wanna get some trash. 2024 trash 😂
@@ambienteterrazassome people are in denial about when Toyotas were being made in Mexico. They act like it’s something new. Funny how they say “I’m not buying a piece of shit made in Mexico” lol
@@ambienteterrazas O.K. In that case, they can take that Mexican 4cyl truck with a redneck made drivetrain and shove it.
Just toured the Cedar Park Dealership near here. Your right sales sharks are out. Lots of inventory especially for Tundras.
Huh. I’m not seeing that here in Southern Calif. The opposite actually with mark-ups on the TRD Pro
Why would they continue to sell something that will just come back in the way of a recall or a major warranty claim??
They are getting desperate for sure. Last year I was in the market for a Toyota truck and they were cocky as heck telling me the truck was already sold when it’s not. Just this morning they called me wanting to sell me a vehicle and I told them I already got a 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison and I’m not interested now when their trucks have a bunch of recalls out haha I’ll always remember those dealerships that tried to play games.
I'm good, they just had a recall on all those engines so I'm staying away for a while
I don't care if Toyota drops the price. How's that going to fix the problem down the road. When the new truck drops the engine.
It's like buying a house in a floodplain. It's going to rain, and every once in a while it's going to rain a bunch.
Regardless of whatever discount they give. Wouldn’t get me to purchase one at this moment.
Even if i wanted to buy one of these trucks, I def would wait at least 3--4 years
Yeah they need to work out the kinks first…
The Tundra should have a 6+ liter NA V8 in it. Maybe Nissan will sell them some 5.6's.
Yeah I don’t know what deals you’re talking about… but when I was truck shopping past two weeks there were no discounts and the TRD Pro tundra they wanted 5-10k over msrp.
In Hawaii there’s a place called Servco which hold a monopoly on Toyotas . Looks like we have to shop in the 48 states .
I cross shopped truck brands this past winter for a couple more work trucks. I considered a couple SR5 Tundras but was not impressed and went with two more ‘24 F150XL with 5.0 litre Coyote V8.
Just this past week the Toyota dealer I shopped sent me an email looking for my business. I haven’t replied yet…
50 Tundras on my dealerships lot today!
Dang, those are way better discounts than my area (South AL). They're only doing $1000 off of MSRP till the end of June.
They are trying to get rid of them before press release in late July about 24 engine recall. They are delaying it to minimize losses
That’s the truth 👍
@@UntamedMotorsresale value will take a huge hit but might be good for someone who keeps their vehicles for 10+years. I’m not sure even Toyota will want these back as trade ins lol.
2024 Tacoma’s are having transmission issues & differential issues. Not worth it! So glad I got a 2021 Tundra BRAND NEW 3 years ago.
Untamed, would you buy a Frontier?
Discounts seem to be more common right now. I looked at a brand new F150 with the 5.0 and a Custom Trail Boss at the same dealership over the weekend. Without even discussing price they brought up that the F150 that stickered at $56k and was discounted to $48k and similar discounts available on the Trail Boss. Not defending Toyota as I have no loyalty to any brand. I’d say the deeper discounts from Toyota are a reflective combination of the market and recalls.
Ford has done 0% for people over a certain age but these new Toyota trucks are ahuge disappointment.
If I was offered an even swap, my 2016-TRD-Pro 4Runner, and TRD-Offroad Tacoma for 2024 of the same, I wouldn’t take the Deal, No way I would even be tempted . Its the Powertrain snd all the unnecessary tech
Dodge Ram style pricing discounts for sure
Maybe more shots of the vehicles, and less close ups of the narrator:( Hard to watch on my big screen. Pan out a bit.
I don’t know what part of the country you live in but dealers are marking up the new Tacoma and asking over MSRP here in the NYC and tri-state area.
Is a cracked seat and failed alternator included as well? Maybe the failing rear differential package can be negotiated into the deal as well.
Go buy a pro X Nissan frontier it’s just as good as a 2023 Tacoma Trd off-road and it’s only about $40,000 and they give good deals on interest rates too
Thought a 14" screen was big. How are we supposed to mount a 65" on the dash??
They want 65 to 70 thousand for a tacoma😂😂😂😂
Good luck finding a sequoia under msrp. Also 6% is best interest out there. Much more inventory on the Tundras than Sequoia.
@@robcottam2 I just bought a 24 Sequoia TRD Pro. I was only able to get $3K below MSRP because I bought a 4Runner TRD Pro too… also discounted though.
I have a 22' Taco Access Cab and needed to pick up a used 23' Taco Double Cab before the V6 becomes extinct. Although I paid top dollar from an out-of-state Pennsylvania Toyota Dealer, I could get what I wanted. The salesman concurred that they are finding it difficult to sell any of the 24' Tacos, which is why they're giving incentives to take them in third-gen trades.
The 24 Tacoma's are now failing with transmission problems and the boxed frame is cheaply made with thin metal in some spots 👎
It is so obvious, in order for them to include the 2024 in the recall they need to sell them first. If you believe 100% in Toyota Tundra or anything else with the same engine and Tacoma as well. then go ahead; I dare you. 😅
Can the new Tundras be sold with an open recall with no solution for a fix?
No which is why Toyota conveniently left the 24 models off the recall. They’ll likely loop it in end of year.
I just got a used 23 4runner at a bargain. Hopefully Toyota will get their stuff together in a couple of years before I buy anything newer. No dought they will get this all figured out soon.
Nice man! Congrats on the 4Runner? What trim did you get?
They all come with the motor failure package. Selling for 10k over msrp! 😂
I was hoping for more comedy like the previous video…. I really think doing skits could be your new jam!
