Midori just saw Megadeth at Budokan in Tokyo, mainly because her favorite guitarist is the great Kiko Loureiro. She is a fan of his from when he was in Angra, a band that sadly I've only recently heard of and haven't given the time they probably deserve. Speaking of Megadeth at Budokan, Marty joined them on stage for part of the show. He played "Countdown to Extinction," "Tornado of Souls," and "Symphony of Destruction" and sounded great as always. There's plenty of clips of here of that segment if you haven't seen it already. I was lucky to see Megadeth on the _Youthanasia_ tour in 1995 at the former Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio. That was such a good show, and rest in peace to the underrated Nick Menza. Last note about Megadeth, as a teenager I frequented the same guitar shop where Jeff Young would come in and mess around with the guitars. He was a super nice guy who would take the time to talk to me and my friends and always remembered us. One of the highlights of my musical life was sitting on an amp in that guitar shop with two of my buddies and Jeff and playing "In My Darkest Hour" with him.
Listening for metal for more than 20 years now and i have never seen and heard a band like Lovebites. They are best metal band in the universe right now. Nobody can tell me otherwise. Such talent, diversity, production, live preformance. I really dont think that any other band is on this level, cant compare anyone else with them. Fact that they are cute girls is just a nice bonus to the story. Listen, analyse everything that they did and what they can do and it would be enough to realize the fact that Lovebites is real metal-all others are just not good enough-that what i think
I don't look at music in that way at all. Everyone who likes someone else more than Lovebites will tell you that the band THEY like is the best band in the universe. Every other band isn't good enough for what? Why can't you like several bands and not call someone else not good enough? I just don't think like that. Until there is an actual "who is the best" competition, there is no reason for any of that nonsense and even THAT would be based on opinion. This particular band is NEXT LEVEL AMAZING! That doesn't make them any better than anyone else. Warrant is a "hair metal" band from the 80's and the lead singer is no longer alive. That band is bigger in the states than Lovebites. Does that make Lovebites no good enough? Does that make a band that doesn't exist anymore better than Lovebites? That shit is 100% subjective and 100% based on opinion. It's silly. If someone tries to convince you that one band is better than another, avoid them; it's an unwinable argument.
Surprisingly Marty lives in Japan and has a show on UA-cam called Rock Fujiyama and has 2 episodes where he interviews both Midori and Miyako as they talk about their guitarists influences.

Fun Facts: Anything from their Live stream studio video "Live From The Abyss" shows them wearing street clothes. Lovebites and Marty Friedman are friends, Miyako and Midori were on his show in Japan. Haruna is one of the best rock drummers in the world right now. Not only does she keep up a vicious pace, but her cymbal work is always very busy with strategic China, bell and cymbal hits and modulating time signatures, outstanding. And I think this record is a little faster than previous recordings because they are all trying to keep up with new bass player Fami.
You mentioned Megadeath, Midori posted a picture of herself standing in front of a marquee of Megadeath. She mentioned that the hilight of the night was Marty's solo of " Tornado of Souls " ❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘 P.S. February 27th in Tokyo.
There's a ton of stuff on UA-cam from that Megadeth show including a behind the scenes rehearsal day video. I actually just watched that one. Friedman sounds like he never left.

Break The Wall is your reaction where you were emphatic it was 100% thrash, and it is! Always love your reactions, John. The last track created a new genre power thrash speed metal, and of course, it's Lovebites trailblazing the path. NWOLHM New Wave Of Lovebites Heavy Metal. 🤘
Holy sh*t is right. "Judgement Day" is my personal all-time favorite song, and Lovebites has MANY songs right behind it. Asami's voice has definitely next leveled it, but do not forget about Miyako. She leveled up with her speed, pretty much catching up to Midori. Fami breathed a whole new life into Lovebites. There is a lot of good sounding metal out there, but none sound as heavy, clean, and at such a high level of technical ability across the board. This is one of the very few bands I've ever heard where there is not a weak link. All of them are elite/virtuoso at what they do. Enjoyed your reaction as always.
Great to see you appreciate the talent Lovebites have and explain why. For me it has always been easy to gush over the Lovebites lady's precisely because they play so well and don't have the tired and routine 'rock chick look and persona. Thank you for promoting Lovebites so well.
Nice reaction. I believe Midori is a big fan of Marty Friedman. I also heard Slave to the Grind in there too. This new album is just next level. Personally, it's my favourite of theirs.
The new album is fantastic, was expecting great stuff and they totally delivered 🤘🐺🤘 These more casual videos are awesome i agree, they look like they had so much fun!! They have a studio Live DVD in casual clothes as well. Thanks!! 🤘
Good God. The Talent level from these Japanese all female bands Is insanely high. Lovebites, Band-Maid & Nemophila especially. Then you got a M & F band Wagakki Band mixing traditional Japanese and Modern. Good night. I was so frustrated with western bands I stopped listening to new music all together. Because what little I did here was all garbage. Then One day I was watching Kiss covers. Came across Nemophilla covering Kiss DRC. That let me to Band Maid, & Lovebites, and eventually Wagakki Band. I can't get enough of any of those bands now. I am now actually enjoying new music again thanks to those 4 bands.
John, you are right about Asami reaching a new level. In fact, I consider Asami the MVP of the entire album. Her vocals on the album are incredible, she wrote the lyrics on all ten songs, and she was involved in composing four of the tracks - We Are The Resurrection, Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver (Shoot'em Down) and the very heavy Dissonance. This song is special because it is the first song cowritten by Miyako and Asami, with I hope many more to come. I have mentioned this in many comments but I think a big reason for Asami's improvement, besides her own hard work, is a Japanese American singer songwriter named Ayako Kawai. She was born and raised in Maryland and started her career in the US but decided to move to Tokyo specifically to help Japanese vocalists sing English lyrics. I believe Asami's improvement could simply be from being more comfortable singing English lyrics. The less a singer has to think, the better the singing (very similar to sports). I want the name Ayako Kawai to be known to Lovebites fans.
Very good explanation. I JUST reacted to a Bridear song where this is sincerely an issue. You can clearly tell that the vocalist is focusing on her English FAR too much and not just singing.
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts I just watched your Bridear reaction and I agree with you. I am a big fan of Nemophila (seeing them live in two weeks) and I have read interviews where Mayu talks about how difficult it was for her to learn English lyrics for some of those covers. She says that Saki was a great help to her with phonetically learning the English lyrics. I can't imagine having to memorize phonetically the lyrics to entire song even if it is one I had listened to multiple times. I am very familiar with Nemophila's catalog, but please don't ask me to sing one. Of all the Japanese artists that I have discovered, Saki of Nemophila is the only one I have heard do a full interview in English. Asami could probably do the same. I hope Arch Enemy's Handshake With Hell is on your list. I mentioned it awhile back. You need to experience Alissa White-Gluz if you are not already familiar with her.

Thanks for a great review! You have lately become one of my favourite Reactors and I went back and through some of Your Lovebites reactions from the beginning and they are just really cool to watch and a lot of what You say during thoose reactions, regarding Lovebites, is to me pretty spot on. One thing I've noticed, especially on the last two reactions, is that Your appreciation of Asami has grown, probably quite a bit, and that makes me glad since I've have always thought of her as the Bands Real Leader and I have always thought of her voice, even though she always seems to end up last on every "your favourite band member" poll, to be one of the factors that make this band pretty great and if You look at other bands often the singer is the most popular together with the guitar players so, I have always wondered why that is not the case with Lovebites. The Fact that she acknowledge Miyako to be the creative leader of the band by saying things like "Every band needs a Miyako" says alot about Asami's quallity as a band member. Anyways, its quite obvious which members I appreciate the most even though I Really like them all a lot so, please continue to react to Lovebites its appreciated.
Well, I've given the original band so much love, I don't know what else to say. So, I pre-ordered the CD-VOD and bought the album in mp3 form, because my CD still hasn't arrived in the US. In other words, let's put our money where our mouths are, they deserve it! Fabulous Fami is the only one left to talk about. There are a few songs on the album where she stretches out a bit, but not even close to her full abilities. From what I understand, the album was complete and, after she came into the band, she was sent 10 tracks to learn. Within a few weeks of that, she was in the studio, retracking Miyako's demo tracks. So, it seems like nothing was written with her in mind. What I'm hoping, is that their live performance arrangements allow her to show off a bit. Maybe some funk between her and Haruna, in the middle of a couple of face melting songs. Similar to how Miyako's sit down on the piano, in previous tours, broke the pace up. Also, along the same lines, why no slower paced songs? I don't hear the variety that's present on previous albums. In any case, great band! I'm a 61 year old, former touring guitarist, producer and writer. While I can appreciate talent, I probably won't drive or fly anywhere to see them live. Yes, Lovebites is Lovebites but to be fair that start was very Motorhead, and I loved it. They have done at least one Motorhead cover in concert so I think they would appreciate the comparison.
Their influences are obvious. Stop trying to start shit. If you don't respect my opinion, I won't respect yours. I don't believe I said "yuki T thinks this has a Motorhead and Megadeth influence in it". Don't be rediculous. Every band, everywhere, in every genre of music is influenced by other bands. That's how love of music works and how things evolve. This band is amazing, just like I said they were in this video. They did not invent music.
If you you think Judgment Day is great, which really is, you should definitely listen to Soldier Stands Solitarily. Face melting song. Out of this world talent from those ladies.
John, I don't want to say anything about you reacting to this song, cause I already knew that you'll love this song and MV as the rest of us Wolfpack. I have a request, please react to a prog/power metal band from Italy, DGM. They're really good but always seems underrated. Please react to their MV for their song "Flesh and Blood". It's an amazing song and nice MV. Thanks a lot!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm being disciplined and waiting for video releases. After a bit of time, I will download the whole album to my Apple Music. These first two songs are nothing shy of incredible.
With this song i see some Problems coming for me. I am hypet and expect every new song getting faster, harder, louder. But there must be a Limit of what they can ( cant see the Limit at the moment). So i hope this point will never come 🙂
I've been thinking about that as well and so it's good to have a song like this once in a while. It's impossible to constantly ramp up the speed and intensity as you've said.
Hey John...I presume you will be going to one of their concerts then?🤔 Try VoB an Indonesian trio of Muslim girls going real heavy, "School Revolution" live is a good starter. Love your reactions, very detailed and you obviously know you music.... 10/10 dude.
All of Lovebites tour dates (according to their wbsite) in 2023 are in Japan. So, no, I will not be flying to Japan to see Lovebites. I have done either four or five VOB reactions and School Revolution is one of them.

That's how love of music works and how things evolve. This band is amazing, just like I said they were in this video. They did not invent music.
......Motorhead…Megadeth....... I’ve had enough.
Spoken like someone unfamiliar with Motorhead and Megadeth.
🤘🏽LOVEBITES RULES🤘🏽
If you you think Judgment Day is great, which really is, you should definitely listen to Soldier Stands Solitarily. Face melting song. Out of this world talent from those ladies.
John, I don't want to say anything about you reacting to this song, cause I already knew that you'll love this song and MV as the rest of us Wolfpack. I have a request, please react to a prog/power metal band from Italy, DGM. They're really good but always seems underrated. Please react to their MV for their song "Flesh and Blood". It's an amazing song and nice MV. Thanks a lot!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Good morning. I've added Flesh & Blood to the request list. Thank you.
You have to listen to the other tracks, this album is insanely good.
I'm being disciplined and waiting for video releases. After a bit of time, I will download the whole album to my Apple Music. These first two songs are nothing shy of incredible.
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts You can react to the other tracks available on Lovebites official site, they are not MV.
With this song i see some Problems coming for me. I am hypet and expect every new song getting faster, harder, louder. But there must be a Limit of what they can ( cant see the Limit at the moment). So i hope this point will never come 🙂
There are limits to everything. Just enjoy the song.
I've been thinking about that as well and so it's good to have a song like this once in a while. It's impossible to constantly ramp up the speed and intensity as you've said.
Hey John...I presume you will be going to one of their concerts then?🤔
Try VoB an Indonesian trio of Muslim girls going real heavy, "School Revolution" live is a good starter.
Suggestion for a band from around the world, Bloodywood from India. Check out their official video for "Gaddar": ua-cam.com/video/7iKjSCTxke8/v-deo.html
Thank you. I have added this to the request list. Have an amazing weekend.
The English language is ineffective when it comes to Lovebites.
What?
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts in terms of how ill equipped it is to describe them! 😂
