The mark of a great band is when every new song your hear from them is your new favorite.😊
This one is pretty amazing.
After 1 year on hiatus they are back with a new bassist and a new look, i'm so pumped.
That's outstanding news.
With the new bass player, Fami, Lovebites is gonna set the world on fire, literally.
She's pretty amazing from what I hear.
Indeed they can do Everything. Haruna wears red footwear to disguise the flames.🐺
I had to chuckle when you said that Miyako (the one playing the Dimebag Dean) looked like a classical musician playing in front of an orchestra. She started training to be a classical pianist at the age of 3. Her plan was to be a classical pianist until she picked up a guitar at the age of 18 and taught herself to play guitar. (Yes, she's completely self-taught; no training whatsoever in guitar!) She also has taught herself to play some bass and drums; says it helps her when when writes music. (She composed and arranged this song btw.) Also got a chuckle about Haruna's (the drummer) cute little red shoes. I still find it hard to believe that someone who's only 4'-9" tall can play the drums with such power. I don't know if you're aware of it, but Lovebites has chosen their new bassist. Fami is only 20 years old, but is considered to be a bass prodigy. She has a UA-cam channel which has over 650,000 followers. I watched some of her videos on her channel, and she does things that I've never seen done on a bass before. I think she's going to bring a whole new energy to Lovebites and I can't wait to see what their new music is going to be like. Take care, my friend!
This song is a damn masterpiece. Love everything about it. I am looking forward to seeing/hearing some new stuff with the new Bass player.
Miyako does have a BA in Music Education!
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts Hey John! Don't know if you've heard this before, but Miyako (the "scholarly" guitar player) was 4 months pregnant when they did this concert. I have the DVD of this entire concert, and it's 2 hours of non-stop, balls-to-the-wall metal. She had to have been utterly exhausted after this concert. She has to be one tough lady to do that, and I have great respect for her because of it. Peace!
Indeed One of their Best. Especially for true Thrash fans (me), and then it's more OMFG! One of Lovebites' best attributes though is that they play such a Wide variety of 'styles' and 'feels'. If you asked one of the ladies what kind of Metal they play, they would answer, Yes. God, I really hope I get to see them Live some day. I might go to Japan if I have to.
This one was/is outstanding.
This bro knows music. Only Lovebites can make a song like Slayer and Testament combined and literally set the world on fire. Gotta love them. God knows what they are gonna do next with new bassist (Fami is a monster bass player). Lovebites is the future of metal, and what a bright future it is. LETS GO!
Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians, such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass, backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in both Donington (UK) and Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good!
🐺Miho - bass, backing vocals (in August 2021 she left the band).
🐺Haruna - drums.
🐺Midori - guitars, backing vocals.
🐺Miyako (Mi-Ya)- guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals.
🐺Asami - lead vocals, piano.
🐺Fami - bass (since October 2022)
🐺Miho started playing bass in high school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen.
Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺
John, I also like your description of Miyako as "scholarly". Since discovering Lovebites and watching Miyako in interviews, I always thought that she could someday teach at a prestigious Japanese music school like the Tokyo University of the Arts. Being a world class pianist, guitarist and composer, a school would be lucky to have her. Miyako composed and arranged Set the World on Fire (lyrics by Asami) which is from their most recent full album Electric Pentagram which was released almost 3 years ago. That album has 12 tracks and Miyako composed half of them. I am hoping there will be a new album by May just in time for festival season. Fingers crossed. Something about Miyako in this video - she was between 4 and 5 months pregnant.
This song is amazing.
And don't forget, Miyako was about 4 months pregnant in this concert. Hence the flat shoes instead of the high heels.
Always a pleasure to hear your reactions man. Cheers.
Thank you, Sir.
yes, so powerfull. be carefull for new favorite song. these is Lovebites, if listen to their another song, that become favorite song, then another, then another.. it becomes common to reactor..hahaha.. amazing comment👍👍🤘🤘🔥
LOVEBITES - Set The World On Fire lyrics:
The blue moon colors the blaze
Stabbing myself with the thunder
The predetermined imitation
An emotionless and a fearless smile
Flowing blood and crimson blade
Devastated resolution
Heat haze is waving far away
Who’s going to be sacrificed?
ON FIRE
Just like a falling flower
ON FIRE
Until this body rots away
Burning down to the Gates of Hell
Distorted madness is sneering
Incompetent, cowardly fools
A pitiful and painful punishment
It’s you who will be sacrificed
ON FIRE
Dressed in an armor of steel
ON FIRE
If I’m burned again and again
I’ll rise up from the Gates of Hell
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
The blue moon colors blaze
Stabbing myself with the thunder
The predetermined imitation
An emotionless and fearless smile
SOLO: miyako
Flowing blood and crimson blade
Devastated resolution
Heat haze is waving far away
Who’s going to be sacrificed?
ON FIRE
Just like a falling flower
ON FIRE
Until this body rots away
Burning down to the Gates of Hell

Love these lady's. "Scholarly" when referring to Miyako is probably the best way I've heard it put. Hope to hear more from them soon with their new bass player. Been way too long. Keep going with these Lady's, they have a great Thrash catalog. Hope all is well. 🤘 ✌
All IS well. How you doin', Fred? This is fantastic.
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts Livin brother. Livin.
Lovebites has indeed been the absolute best new band I've heard in 40 years!

This band has no peer. 🤘🏾🤘🏾
This is fire, one of my favourite songs. Really good reaction
This one was/is CRAZY good. I love it.
LOVEBITES 🐺 INCREDIBLE
This song really highlights across the board what this band brings to the table. Asami with super powerful anti-metal voice which fits perfectly. Haruna KILLS IT on the drums in this one (she does kill it on every song, but this song she's lit), and Miho just followed in step to perfection. What else can you say about Miyako and Midori. Their contrasting styles is phenomenal. In this song the contrasting tones were awesome, where Miyako's tone on that Dean is pure evil. They thrash with the best of them.
The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath is my favorite Lovebites tune, and right behind is what I feel is their best thrash song, Break the Wall. Both were played to perfection on the ZeppDiver City Tokyo2020 Five of a Kind concert.
This is what happens when they uncork the napalm. Any holdouts who still think they play well "for girls" need to see this. There have been bands that go harder, but none that made it look so easy; and the writing is just beautiful. That second solo by Miyako is just so dark, I get the shivers.
@@KenjaTimu If their talents are wasted on power metal, what would you have them play?
@@KenjaTimu so rather than write and perform music *they* like, you want them to perform music *you* like. Or put another way, you’d rather Lovebites be Nemophila. So what would you prefer Nemophila to play?
@@KenjaTimu they do a lot more than power metal. A Drop of Joker was cool but Miyako has been pushed to another level by her collaboration with Midori.
@@KenjaTimu then why do you watch reactions? I saw another where you said you like a few but that basically the rest are “not good”. I’m just curious. Why go to the trouble?
@@KenjaTimu If you like the harder, thrashier stuff, check out Break the Wall, for one. If you like proggier stuff, Edge of the World or Frozen Serenade. If you like old fashioned hard rockers, Raise Some Hell or Golden Destination. Just some ideas.
Good to see you back again with lovebites reaction
Thank you.
LOVEBITES🔥🤘🐺🤘🔥
When Miyako plays her Dean ML, the song is in dropped D. Miyako described the song as Thrash Metal. 🤘🎸🔥🐺
It's absolutely a thrash song. A lot of their stuff is heavily thrash influenced.
These ladies put on a good show for sure John heavy fast incredible talent
They're incredible.
Great reaction! You're right too. Asami's vocals. I have no idea where all that power comes from in that tiny frame of hers. And the contrast between Miyako and Midori is fantastic. Can't forget Miho and Haruna just killing it back there too. They're all just so ridiculously talented, to be on the same stage. And we're lucky for it.
The fact that the two guitarists are so very different in style and they still manage to marry this into an amazing sound and overall experience is what gets me. Growing up with 80s metal, I've missed the Priest/Maiden dual guitar solos and harmonies and Lovebites manages to give a great callback to the greatest of the old while still putting a modern twist to it all their own. This is why I think Lovebites is the best thing to hit metal in 30-odd years.
They're pretty outstanding.
The black-haired guitarist (Miyako) is also an excellent pianist. And it should be noted that she is an outstanding composer. There is a song that brings together her talents at the highest level.
Request ----- "DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY" ua-cam.com/video/sTKHKsRLz9w/v-deo.html
It seems that the difficulty of playing is high, and I think that the burden on drums and bass is particularly heavy. When I first heard this song...
"Stop! Haruna is about to break! Is Miyako, the composer, a sadist?"
DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY was released in March 2021. Due to the pandemic, we have lost the opportunity to perform live (= there is no live video). No MV has been produced. As a result, it is a pity that there are few opportunities to be adopted by UA-cam's reactor.
DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY seems to have been composed by Miyako inspired by three Beethoven piano pieces. Among the songs of LOVEBITES, the performance speed is particularly fast, and at the same time, it is characterized by an uplifting melody.

Is this a re-upload?
Fantastic song, it never gets old, and one of the better showpieces from this concert. This whole show feels like LOVEBITES leveled up.
Did you get to go to the BAND-MAID show in New Jersey?
No, this not a re-upload. Those finished some time ago. I id not go see Band Maid.
It's my favourite by them as well. I am personally not the biggest fan of Lovebites, I have a lot of respect for them as musicians though. I love some of their songs, others not so much (not the biggest power metal fan). But I did buy one of their blu-rays some time ago (probably the one this video is from) to give them (and power metal) more of a chance and this track made me instantly buy their latest album where this track is on.
I wish they would do more thrashy songs with a little lower range vocals from Asami like this one (and break the wall), but I am getting more used to the Japanese power metal stuff because of bands like Lovebites, Unlucky Morpheus and Mary's Blood and I can at least enjoy the other songs a bit more now (still not a fan of the "epic" sounding chorusses). I am most likely not going to become the biggest fan of this band, but over time I did buy most of their stuff regardless, so there is that. I can at least appreciate what they bring to the table and everyone involved are top notch musicians.
Looking forward what their new bassist Fami will bring to the table and what she will mean for the sound of the band going forward (if there is going to be any change or not), but I am sure that I will at least be able to enjoy a couple of songs by them going forward and I am probably going to buy their next album to see what's up.
Do you ever listen lovebites song's called "Paranoia" , "No Time to Hesitate",? I think that song Thrash with low range vocal
@@maulinium
Thanks for the recommendations.
I haven't heard them yet, they are on an EP that I don't own and they are too new to have been played on their Blu-rays. I have only heard part of the title track of that EP and I didn't like that one that much, which is why I didn't buy the EP. But that was when I just started to give them a chance coming off of other Japanese bands and I probably had some misconceptions thinking all their music was power metal (since it was the only thing I had heard by them). I did notice that Asami's vocals on their newest album are more to my taste compared to the higher range vocals of their earlier albums, so good to hear that the EP has it as well on some tracks.
I might order it at a later date though when I buy something else from Japan (or get the JPU version) or just search them online in the meantime.
@@MaartenT sorry, "paranoia" and "no time to hesitate" are medium high range vocal.. how about "Winds of transilvania", "Thunder Vegeance"? Lovebites have a few Thrash song, but mostly are Power Metal and heavy metal.
@@maulinium
I have heard Thunder Vengeance for sure since I own that album, I can't remember if I like it or not but I believe I do (I should relisten the album while checking the tracktitles).
I haven't listened to the albums all that much, but I do remember they have more thrashy songs that I really liked (I remember liking M.D.O.. I also like Holy War even though that's more power metal, but it's the song that made me buy the Blu-ray. I apparently have heard Winds Of Transylvania since it's on that Blu-ray, but I can't remember what it sounded like since I only watched it once.
I typically at least somewhat enjoy heavy metal, I don't think there are a lot of fans of metal that don't enjoy heavy metal at least a little, but it depends on the vocals and melodies on how much I enjoy it. I have noticed that a lot of Japanese bands tend to use melodies in their chorusses that I find a little cheesy and I don't enjoy as much, especially in their power metal. But I remember at least enjoying Mastermind 01 and M.D.O. for example as well as The Hammer of Wrath (with the exception of the chorus).
Thanks for more LOVEBITES! You might enjoy Miyako's Rachmaninoff piano excerpt followed by Asami's R&B 'vamp' as intro to "Empty Daydream": ua-cam.com/video/C2QajtKS6b8/v-deo.html
This song goes into so many different genre it is beyond categorization, imo.
Enjoy! 🐺

WOLFPACK 🤘🐺🤘
I'm really looking forward to see how Fami interprets the old catalogue of songs. I'm not really sure what I'm hoping for, but I just want Fami to play "different" than Miho on the old songs. Perhaps Fami can sneak in a bit of her more technical playing. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
We'll all find out sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.
Everything I ever wanted in an epic thrash metal song. They are so next level talent. Looking forward to your next Lovebites react and can't wait for their new music to blow the lid off things! Great react; hope your Jets are treating you better than my Pats up here in NE! 😔
This is an extra-special tune right here. I loved it. I am in no way a Jets fan. They're having a great season though. They're definitely exceeding expectations. I am a life long, 40 plus years Raiders fan... and it's painful.
@@ProjectEllsworthReacts ah, ok. Well, you had the Snake in the 70s and those Heisman-filled teams of the 80s, so there's that. I was spoiled for 2 decades and now back to earth. Not complaining in the least!

Here for my daily Lovebites fix 🐺
Happy to provide one for ya'. Be well.
It never gets old when reactors use the phrase "this could be my favourite LOVEBITES song so far". Its often used the very next time they react to another of LOVEBITES tracks. To underline the "scholarly" nature of Miyako you should check out Swansong with Chopin intro ua-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/v-deo.html . 🤘🤘🤘
That sounds pretty damn cool. I've added this to the request list. Thank you.
The short-skirted guitarist, Midori, is a fucking rock star.
The mellow guitarist, Miyako, is like that as a person. I've heard some people say her demeanor is a put-off. I think of her like that cool girl in high school that all the other girls say they hate, but secretly want to be her best friend. Also, with her seeming ease of playing, it's almost like she flexing on everyone, and I find that really cool.
In Japan, only cute young groups can appear on TV, so full-fledged rock bands are having a very hard time. The only way to save them is to buy their CDs and DVDs.
People don't do that anymore... anywhere. The internet killed the music industry. Lars stood on top of the hill screaming about this many years ago and everyone crucified him for it... He was right.
Check out their new bassist FAMI, a 20yr/o girl, watch her at FAMI channel playing bass....
I'll see her sooner hopefully than later.
Beware of Dean Shredding females that are 4 months pregnant 🤟
please next LOVEBITES - WINDS OF TRANSYLVANIA
This band look wise will make people think they will play one thing like J-pop or at best J-rock maybe hardrock.
Then they start playing and as a metal fan your face starts to melt and you can't figure out how this does not down like all the other bands from Japan be it rock, metal or pop.
Then you read what they like and you understand why it's a mix of thrash and power metal from Europe and the USA.
These ladies are quite possibly the best of the all female Japanese bands. They're amazing.
For me the guitarists makes me think of one extrovert and one introvert person.
Absolutely no especially value in one or another. Just clearly different personalities.
Just saying from being an introvert person myself....:)
