    • @erikj.2066
      @erikj.2066 5 років тому +10

      That's not an Iron Duke. The Iron Duke was the Pontiac OHV engine.
      What we're looking at here is the Chevrolet 2300 Monza/Vega engine that was GM's attempt at developing an aluminum block engine with out cylinder sleeves. Didn't work out so hot....

    I had a Chevy Monza and a Pontiac Sunbird of the same year. I was going to use the Monza for the same purpose as being a dirt track car but never got around to it. The 79 Sunbird was a daily driven car for a while and had a Buick V6 in it. It would burn the one tire off! I would love to see more from the Camaro build!

    Yup, you’ve most definitely got the 140 CID motor there. Based on what I see around the car it looks to be a 1976. If the 2bbl is stock, then you’re producing a whopping 87hp (perhaps a couple more with that open header) 😉 When you’re ready to V8 her, let me know. I’ve got what you need.

    Years ago I had a ‘77 Monza “Spider”, it was a factory 305, 4 speed car, pretty much a factory souped up version of the Monza with a sweet graphics package and spoiler. It was hatchback, It reminded me of a cross between a Vega and a Camaro, I’d kind of like to have another for the nostalgia.

    If you get all of the factory parts from one with a v8 it go's pretty well. I did several in the 80's you would need everything across the front including water pump, exhaust manifolds, motor mounts and body side mounts also. with all of right parts it a nice swap.

    reminds me of the dirt track racers we have here in deerfield ohio it must have been a starter class since it just has the inline 4 snapper motor in it. I am not sure why the fuel cell would be in the trunk it would usually be behind the driver where the battery is and the battery should be moved to the passenger floorboard. I am just going by demolition derby rules.

    I think a V8 was an option on those but not sure. Could be a lot of fun just the way she is though. You gotta rev those babies till it sounds like the pistons are swapping holes and then grab another gear. It's small enough it could pass for a golf cart. They got some pretty neat race tracks at them golfing courses.

    So I watched a battery restoration that Thunderhead289 did. Basically he emptied the acid and replaced it with distilled water and epsom said. I gave it a go on the battery for my 1971 Duster and it worked. I just did it a few days ago and it’s still holding a charge after it had been dead for about a year.

    Got to work around 9 this morning. Had a notification this video was ready to watch. I know it's only 13 minutes but I've been distracted all day with work. Dangit. Just sitting here now listening to the Colossus of a Lawnmower in the background and I don't know why, but I'm sitting here at work alone, laughing.

    Thanks for the Video.....I got the notification as I was leaving(way ta go Utube) thought I would wait till I got home to watch and glad I did. Boy is that a show piece, worthy of your gentle hand......HaHaHa....you just need some sparkalators to go with the digicles, and sheell fire right up. I had a fastback version of one of those back in the 70's.....I bet you didn't know they will take an off ramp on two wheels.....never want to do that again....I needed a new pair of going to town pants.... Regards....keep the videos coming Pardner....

    Let's go racing, you'll have it up and running in two days I have faith in you. I love your channel and yes I'd like to see you finish the other car. Have fun besafe.
