You're the only reason I'm watching Motor Trend Channel.
Same here :) Show me Derek and i am watching :D
@@KILLERINCHO lol, about to tell youtube not to even recommend motor trend here, I dunno why lemmings are such fan girls for this clown, he doesn't know anything.
I lived where MT channel wasn't available and was excited to have it. It is ashame they run the same stuff over and over. It's been a month and a half not really interested in 80% of the programing.
Absolutely, I had no idea that there even was a motor trend channel. To his credit, he hasn't changed that much. But I still like the old show better.
I can't get the channel for streaming, but this show is available on hbomax. The down side is you have to wait for the end of a season to see the new stuff. Seasons 1 and 2 are available
LOL less hose than an LA night club this guy is a comedian and a great mechanic.
Made me laugh. That guys got some good one liners
@@paulwilliams7816 Cracked me up also.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I went to comments just for this 😂
I shamelessly use all his quotes, Im now the funny guy at work and with my friends. I call it the Derek Cheat mode!
I think Sean is such an awesome addition!
Agreed. They give it an 'old friends' feel to the show. Nice.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nobody is gonna mention how Derek left Sean hangin'? A fella don't do that to a fella without expecting some fun revenge.
@@warrenny More like brothers. 😂
They've definitely got that "I've known you forever" vibe. Maybe because they're brothers. Super fun.
The combination of Bieri brothers ALWAYS results in a hilarious adventure that a guy can learn a thing or two, about a thing or two.
My uncle had the sedan version. He was a southern lawyer. He told me that " if you drive a Chevy or Pontiac you don't look successful, if you drive a Cadillac you look to expensive, thats why I drive an Oldsmobile". He has done very well for himself.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
You walked right past a boat tail Riviera!!
YA that's one of my favorites to.
Spotted that too, I’d love that, if only I’d be anything good when it comes to wrenching
@@michaeltrautmann497there’s only one way to learn, and the internet is a treasure trove of info, at least it used to be
I know Derek's "been there, done that" with a boattail, but....
Yep, even I spotted that and I’m from England! That’s because of the VGG episode though, I’m learning.
Sean's left boot......WATERPROOF for LIFE!!!
😂😂😂
And his hand was shiny after Derek sprayed it.
@@LLthereistome2024funny thing was he didn’t even bat an eye. 😂
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Rebuilt!
Thanks for the entertainment guys, shame the screen time is so short, doesn`t do a rescue justice - I mean in 22mins & 57seconds, I`d still be trying to pop the hood.....
That's the nature of network production. Time is money. A network like Motortrend/Discovery+ has to get max views/per minute to support the profit margin.
Think about it, a 22 minute show will have about the same number of viewers ans a 55 minutes show. Just that the viewers will be there longer. That doesn't always equal more sales for the advertisers.
👍👍👍👍
I'd be still trying to find the car in that forest of cars, owning a forest of cars now that's a dream I'd like to wake up to.
It's because motor trend wants you to buy a subscription to watch the full episode.
my first car was an 84 delta 88 royale and i miss that car every day. it makes me happy to see ya hook your peepers on one.
Sean has always been my favorite co host of yours! I wish he would make more approaches on vgg as well! Love all your work!
Wagon , I’m hooked already!!! . Cheers 🇨🇦
Replace the aluminum rocker arm stantions. That makes all the noise you hear. I worked for 2 olds dealers in the 80,s and it was a common problem.
Absolutely! 👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Those 2004R overdrive transmissions are great. Sitting 16 years, you still have gears. Immediately.
😄😄😄😄😄😄
You were kidding….right? Those Turbo 200 transmissions were JUNK!
the Buick GNX's used the 2004R-- yah junk....
Mom had a 1986 Chevy Caprise station wagon loved that thing.
The man with acres of toys living the dream I love it
Nice to see Seán talking
😂😂😂
Love that Blazer.
Had the Buick diesel version of this. Loved it. Got unbelievable fuel mileage.
25mpg
Junk Yard Digs just towed a boat with their olds version.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
You walked past a Riviera! Take that man
He has a boat tail. I watched him revive it.
@@ronniebuchanan6575 he sold it about 18 months back, the cream one
@@ronniebuchanan6575 he sold it
👍👍👍👍👍👍
He has worked in that place plenty of times. If he could make a deal on it he probably would have.
I remember as a kid me and my siblings used to love sitting in the seat. That faced backwards in my father's station wagon.
Love the old wagons 👍
That's exactly what I rode in as a kid in the early 90's. My dad had a few of them over the years including a diesel that took some convincing to get started in the winter time.
Darn i want T.V. again. I would love to watch these shows. I wouldn't even know what channels i need to get all my favorite shows. We had the most fun riding in the back of our station wagon.
Discovery+ has all the motortrend shows
Most of motor trend, If you watched it 5 years ago you have seen most of their shows. This guy is one of the few exceptions.
The videos with Sean are always great
... that boattail Riviera in your buddy's yard you got the wagon from. I want one of those so bad.
The Oldsmobile Cutless Cruiser wagon are good rides . My Dad had a 1984 in silver with gray leather interior. Black pin striped. Olds rally wheels . Had a 3.8 auto, with plenty of power truthfully.
That 307 is a great engine. Had one in my 1988 olds Delta Royale two-door. Problem free car and plenty of power
Motor Trend and VGG excellent duo
The 258 inline six is a good start to building a beefy striker 😊
I had a blue Olds wagon just like this one. I loved it. I even pulled my race car with it. Thanks for the memories.
My dad had an Oldsmobile diesel wagon....he pulled out the diesel and put a 403 Olds in it...such an awesome car.
If he still had the diesel block, he could make some serious money. 👍
That old 403 is a beast I had that in my 1978 Oldsmobile love that car. Not a lot of horsepower but a s*** ton of torque
@Musclecar1972
I have a Diesel engine
So.... how do I make serious money???
@@user-kb2bs9hy2v Get in touch with any local dirt track racers in your area if you have any, they’re getting scarce, and they use them for track engines. Or try a local machine shop that caters to the dirt trackers. At least in our area, they bring a premium.
Vice Grip Garage! Right on!
You guys are amazing! Thanks !
We had an 87 dark blue with wood grain ran so nicely. Wish we still had it. Comfort, character, chrome it had it all.
thank you for the show.
I learned to drive in a ‘64 Buick LeSabre wagon. 401! Great cars those GM wagons!
As a kid, my parents had a 78 custom cruiser with the 403.. I remember sitting in the way back seats.. Good times! Lol
Oldsmobiles are the best.
i like your combo with Sean ! it plays good that you know each other for a life ;D please do more of this !
My ol lady wants a old wagon like that also
😂😂I love Shawn's face when the oil tidal wave came at him. LoL
AWESOME... My son had a 86 OLDS wagon, and a 87 SAFARI wagon , one went to HAWAII the other to COLORADO. he was stationed in the ARMY at the time. Hes out now after 12 years of service. Loved the wagons, great vid....MOPAR 4 EVER.
Love that old wagon. Trick tail gate. Love that. Nice move on the engine swap. That thing is a sleeper
We need to see more of Sean. ...
Awesome and outstanding. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
The man with acres of toys living the dream I love it! Wow)
You guys are great! More, more.
I had one of these in the U.K. but as a Chevrolet Caprice Classic Estate. Loved it.
Love wagons. I Like the older Clamshell wagons the best!😊
One of my favorite cars I ever had was an 83 delta 88.
I put 455k miles on that car and it was still running (poorly) when I sold it.
👍👍👍👍
I was an olds guy to start with. 65 delta 88 with a 330, 66 cutlass 2 door with a 425 and Muncie 4 speed and last was a 68 442 convertible. Loved them all. Then moved to a Ford mustang and been with Ford ever since.
Sure you didn’t mean ‘ 65 Delta with the 425? I had one. The Cutlass would have the 330
@@deweygill1973 I also have a 65 dynamic 88 with a 425, and i didn't think they offered it with a 330, nevermind the higher trim deltas..
@@thechillhacker the 330 was only offered in one 88 model. That was the Jetstar 88 and only in 1964. It was an attempt by Olds to offer a lower price point by equipping an 88 with the F85 drivetrain. Somewhat of a morphodite, besides the 330, you got a version of the 2 speed powerglide, a rear end, steering and suspension parts specific to that car only. I’ve had two, one a bare bones radio delete base, the one I have now is fully loaded with the optional 310 horse 330 available in the 442.
Amazing adventure and the added bonus is having your brother in the mix. No matter where you are.. guaranteed great content always.😎🇺🇸👨🔧🛠️😇👍
New front grill be good as gold 👍
GREAT TEAM!
Like that Riviera you kept walking by!😊
Moving the oil pan at high speed, caused me to laugh, and click the like button!!
The Bieri brothers ride again!111. Great to see Sean 🎉
Love the old wagons . my parents had a 1979 pontiac catalina safari wagon in the 80's for a while ! I'm canadian by the way. it had the tailgate power window.
I ❤❤❤ wagons great recovery super great job pops
Love station wagons. Was brought up in 5 of them.
Fake wood grain stickers and all.
Man i love those wagons, it needs some lovin. Great find!
Thank you,I did not know you cared😊
Sounds like it's just an old worn out Old's rocker bridge. Easy fix. Love watching VGG.
That was my first thought when I saw the car. They had soft rocker arm bridges and it was an easy fix.
My friend helped me fix my 307 with junkyard rocker arm bridges. It was silent and I ran it hard for a couple years.
Not sure why they didn't find a 350 or 403 olds instead of the 307.
Hey Joe, you talking about the clackin' from the original engine?
I've tried explaining to Derrick before to just use a 2x2 stick of wood pressed to the ear and move it around touching things, he would know instantly if it was alternator or water pump or bottom end or top, etc. Stick it to the valve cover, the exhaust manifold, block oil pan and any spinning parts like a doctor of METAL!
The "Fun to Fixin" ratio can be the biggest factor.
Watching now, thanks!! 👍🏼👍🏼😎
So will this wagon find its way to VGG for further Power Tour updates?
More more more...hope this continues....👍🤠👌
I had an 80 Delta 88 Regency Brougham 4 door. Original diesel but it puked and had a 350 rocket with the diesel trans. It was great, wish i still had it
glade you made it
I have great memories from the family station wagon. The first time I ever drove a car, was when I sneaked out the station wagon for a cruise around the block.
No wonder he's been so busy!!!
I had years of driving of tens of thousands of miles from Butler, Pa. to Pigeon 🐦 Forge, Tennessee and everywhere in between.
Had an '83 in frost blue and dark woodgrain. 307 power with 200k already on it but babied it's entire life. It belonged to my Soutmaster. So I went on all sorts of scout trips as a kid in it. Bought it '00 loved that car.
Sharp as the edge of town!
sounds awesome
I have always liked these wagons, great video!
Love to watch u and Shaun work on cars! U guys are hilarious
The olds 350 rocket would have worked perfectly 🤷🏻♂️
I have NEVER clicked a video as fast as i just did i LOOOOVE WAGOOONNNSSSSS i hate they stopped being made in the us. They are so usefull
motor trend is lucky to have you. you are keeping the channel going
Smoke Signals Reference!
CLASSIC!
Had an 82 Olds Delta 88 Coupe with the 307 so same car just the 2 door version. It came with 14 wheels but I put on 15s that were taller to raise it up a bit. Improved it for Sasquatchian entry and exit. That 307 was fantastic..
Great episode
I kind of figured this job would go smoothly as you partner on this venture was well lubricated.
I picked up an 82 Olds wagon. Found a disassembled 72 olds 350. Rebuilt the engine with a q-jet 4bbl. It ran so good I used to tow with it.
Awesome blazer
We had an 87 olds in the family. 6 cylinder, a/c, tape deck. No other options. I still miss that car. This rescue should be a long episode.
'"you could put a full size bed back there" Well, i know a 3/4 box spring and mattress fit. Also grandma's chesterfield (sofa) fits with the tail gate down. Great car for moving a college student!
Had a '82 Buick Electra Estate wagon when I was 16. Was an RV.
I had a Delta 88 that was a 1982 and it was one of the best cars I ever had. Good old four door sedan.
MT.. feature Derrick more.. give him more leeway. we all loveee himmmm
A family vacation is not truly a family vacation without doing so in a station wagon and cruising down Route 66. This Olds station wagon looks sporty too so that's a major plus!
Short and sweet! But always good content and entertainment!
I like how in the beginning he wasnt in character and was talking all normal. Then as soon as the hood came up, it was back to VGG
the same exact engine my 82 Buick had, I changed just about every part in that thing, over 100k miles that teflon/plastic toothed sprocket on the cam will detonate from all the heat cycles.
Back in 1985 my first car was an Omega with the 350 Rocket!😂 wish I could find one again. Rarely see one for sale
ABSOLUTLY----> OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!. 🙂
Warriors have the Splash Brothers.
We have the Tech Brothers.
I’ve now owned two custom cruisers they are great wagons
it is not only a mystery, it's also a marvel
