    MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: How do you have internet at your cabins? A: I have cell service at both cabins but it is spotty due to foliage and cloud cover. I can access the internet from my cabins but have to drive to a local wifi location to upload videos.
Q: How old is Frankie? A: Frankie will be 10 in April of 2018
Q: What video editing software do I use? A: Presently, all I use is Windows Live Movie maker but I’m considering trying imovie, Adobe Elements or SONY VEGAS PRO.
Q: How do you get your water? Did you dig a well? A: Presently, I haul water to the NY cabin but at the NH cabin, I drop a kettle into an old well that was dug by hand by the settlers in the 1700’s.
Q:What is your favorite brand of cast iron cookware? A: I prefer using vintage cast iron. My favorites are BSR and Griswold. If I had to buy new I would buy a Lodge Brand. I plan to purchase this dutch oven in the future:
Q: What do you use for refrigeration? A: We have a small gas refrigerator that we salvaged from an old Shasta camper and a custom icebox that I built into the cabin wall. We make ice on site with a propane freezer.
    Video of icebox:
    Video of Gas Refrigerator:
    Propane Freezer:
Q: What do you use for cooking and heating? A: We use a Kitchen Queen 380 for cooking and heating during the winter months but we also have an antique gas stove in the cabin for when we don't need the heat from the KQ.

I'd go digging around in the fridge and cabinets for something to eat and she'd just laugh and tell me to "go watch Star Trek". 30 minutes later we'd sit down to the most extraordinary food. 40 years a widower and I've never found her equal.

There’s nothing wrong with dressing up some store bought food. I’ll make one of the most delicious frozen pizzas you’ve ever had. For my baked beans, we use the Bush’s. Add some brown sugar, honey, mustard, and a little hot sauce. No measurements, just season to your liking. They always come out absolutely delicious. Now that I think of it, some chopped up bacon that was smoked on the grill would probably be a great addition. Just be creative and experiment. That’s the key to cooking. As always Boss, God bless you and yours! Love from the Judge!

You should try canning you own beans. This way you can control the things in it. It’s so easy to do too. It’s kind of mind blowing too actually. I even have 2 bean pots my mother gave me 20 years ago. You can do them on the cheap in your wood stove. Buying beans raw is cheaper than the canned stuff off the shelf and way better for you too. You could can your venison chillie recipe and have it on the shelf ready all the time. 🥰 to you both and the 8 paws!

when I was a younger man, I'd put a can of baked beans in a pot, chilli mix then cheddar on top and crushed Doritos on top. I only had one pot, one spoon and a coffee cup, so I learned to improvise. Hard to beat baked beans with sweet onions between two slices of bread with a little mayo.

When I was a kid my parents purchased a cabin/cottage/shack right on the Delaware Bay in NJ. It was a very isolated town known as East Point, at the mouth of the Maurice River. There was and still is an old Lighthouse there that was built in the 1840s. The "town" was about 30-50 houses past the lighthouse right on the bay. There were zero utilities there. No one had electricity. There was only one telephone in town and only two people had water wells but they shared their water with all. We had kerosene lamps, a kerosene stove, and a kerosene heater. Anyway some of my fondest memories were when my Dad and I would go down there in the winter to check on the house. I still remember there were blocks of ice big enough to park a car on floating around on the bay, which was the reason we had to rebuild our pier almost every year. Anyway my Dad would make pork and beans for us, cooked right in the can with some hot dogs added. These were some of the most memorable meals I ever had! My Dad died in 1964 at the age of 40.

Great video, Boss! The addition of bacon, sweet onion, AND breakfast sausage really had me drooling. Excellent!
Something also, if I may suggest it: Canning up your own baked beans. Ball Canning has a nice recipe for doing your own baked beans, and if you do it by the quart jar the processing time will be long enough to process the meat as well. Very cheap to make, as well as nutritious to boot!

I fixed a pot of beans one time (pinto beans are our fav, but often mix with cranberry beans, navy beans, etc). Anyhow, I decided to try something a little different so I added a can of stewed tomatoes. Well, the husband and kids don't want them any other way, now! Add on a pan of cornbread (I usually sautee an onion in the iron skillet, then pour in the cornbread mixture on top of the onion). Yum!
