In this video tutorial, I'll guide you through the process of wirelessly connecting your Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro headsets to your PC for a seamless PCVR experience, without the need for a Wi-Fi connection. This is especially handy if your PC is located in a different room from your VR setup or if you have poor wifi in your home. I'll share a great alternative to the D-Link Airbridge using Oculus Airlink. This solution uses Puppis S1 by PrismXR, making it a breeze to harness the power of your PC for VR gaming and applications, all while enjoying the freedom of movement that wireless VR offers.
Thanks PrismXR for providing me with the Puppis S1 for free and sponsoring this video.

Sharing what I have learned after using the S1. The issue with using mode 1 (prism mode) is that it only uses the 2.4Ghz band. By using the S1 in hotspot mode you can take advantage of the 5Ghz band and increase the visual quality settings for PCVR games. Simply don't connect other Wi-Fi devices to the S1 hotspot, so that the headset is all that is connected to the S1 (making it the same as using prism mode but with far more bandwidth available). Also, for the best online results, the PC should be connected to your (internet) router with an ethernet cable (not via Wi-Fi). Try to keep the S1 as close to your play area as possible and do not forget to set a password. Lastly, for online use, you will likely have to disable and re-enable Internet Connection Sharing after every reboot of the connected PC (even if you keep the S1 powered with an external adapter via the white USB-A 2.0 connection). Best of luck!
Thank you so much i can finally enjoy blades and sorcery without being limited
Hi, thanks for this video. Didn't know a product like this existed. What speeds are you getting with this connection?
Great job on the video…I may be picking one of these up :)
Thank you, Jasmine, for playing PCVR. 😊
Looks like a neat product.
Idk why I said that 🤣 Sometimes I say weird things hahaha
@@VRwithJasmineNah, it's fine. You were really enthusiastic and it was a really good video. Now I sort of want one.
How was the latency?
I'm wondering what pc gaming was like when you were quite far away from the router? My gaming PC is downstairs for example.
Airlink on Quest 3 has been total trash lately, even on wifi. Meta needs to update Airlink software ASAP. For example, Quest mic doesn’t work right now if you’re using Air Link and there’s a ton of lag playing Steam games. Once Airlink software gets fixed, I’ll try gaming far from my pc using PrismXR Puppis and post an update somewhere.
6:39 is this your PC display right? How can you mirror your PC like that? Do yo have the Tutorial step by step to do that? With cable. Because i am confuse. I can not find anyone who make tutorial to mirror PC to Quest 3.
Is it possible to do through my motherboards wifi 6e hotspot?
This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing it! The more I use the Quest 3, the more I am loving it, it is just the best VR headset right now for 90% of games.
I agree! RIP to my Quest Pro lol
@@VRwithJasminewhy rip quest pro, way better controllers if you play golf or tennis as they are self tracking. And for PCVR you have local dimming. If my friend with quest 3 prefers pro controllers on his headset.
My question to you dear is what kind of PC does one need for this to work Plz and thank you
Looks great, so my PC does not have to be connected to my router via Ethernet cable?
Nope! Your PC can be on wifi
Great Vid!
Hi! It's me again. Early testing by the team on this device is actually... not bad. We still recommend a dedicated router, of course, but this is better than AirBridge or a Windows hotpsot. Thanks for the video!
Hey, I appreciate the feedback! Any more details can help me inform my audience more accurately :)
It's exactly the same as using a USB dongle with Windows hotspot... because it's just a USB Wifi dongle...in a box.
@@MrBorderdown Not quite. It's not like the D-Link AirBridge or running a hotspot off of PC wifi. This is an actual AX router. I don't like that it's powered by a PC USB port because they can falter but it's far better than a hotspot from our internal testing. At least one of our moderator/tester team has thoroughly tested it (I believe they are still using it) it works pretty well. A few of our users have begun using this device with good results.
@@OpenSorce Can you please point to a how to vid or write up on how to do this with a regular wifi router? It seems like all the videos I've watched plug second router into main router and into PC to create a dedicated router setup. My PC is in a different room than my main router, so I'm not able to follow any of them. I'd like to replicate the Puppis S1 setup - in other words second router into PC via ethernet cable to create an airlink with Quest 3.
@OpenSorce she said it was perfect.
wow this looks awesome! is this still a good option in June 2024? I was just looking at expensive wifi 6 whole-house routers too, but this would be a more cost effective option! Also, have you tried your downstairs test while also playing games, or just browsing? TIA!
Awesome video
Thanks!
does it work without internet connection
Link cable doesn't work without wifi anyway. No idea why they say you can tether with a cable when you cannot.
I might be stupid or blind, but what software you used to stream PCVR? Airlink, Steamlink or Virtual Desktop?
Or is it so that you stream it over the software of the PrismXR? (I was thinking this is only needed for the connection not doing the streaming itself)
I used airlink
@@VRwithJasmine Thanks alot!
Great video! :)
hello
VR with Jasmine what should i get psvr2 or meta 3? thanks your so pretty
both different cases, psvr2 is great but limited by the less amount of games compared to PCVR and Oculus store as of quest 3 can do standalone or pcvr but the battery holds it back if you dont play wireless vr or standalone with a charger
Someone tell me please what is the diference between this mwthod and just cheap wi-fi router connected to pc just to hot-spotting connection for vr headset???
@ponny256 she doesn't have an affiliate link for a router 😅
Wow wow wow 😮😮😮😮😮😮that is sooooo cooool thank you for sharing this AND YOU USE VIRTUAL DESKTOP 🤩🥰
THIS IS SOMETHING TO CONSIDER.
will this work with Quest 2?
Yes, definitely will also work on Quest 2 and Quest Pro!
Love your videos beautiful
how does this compared to D-Link Airbridge?
p.s. the background makes you look like you're submerged half way to the floor 🥲🥲
I give you another product push and affiliated links she doesnt mention. Also she says while at the bottom of the stairs it was "perfect" when we clearly saw it jitter.
Does this work if the computer that is plugged in to is on Wi-Fi and not hardwired? Thanks in advance.
Yup! And if you follow the instructions, it allows PC internet sharing for your headset.
Thank you so much!
@@Xerberuz-Techno it doesn't you will have too much latency and jitters. This was a advert with affiliate links
For the third test you decided to test browser? Lmfao in that case just use your quest 3 standalone anywhere you want. Should’ve tested gaming if anything opposed to watching videos.
No way it would have been a good experience. VD was showing something like 286mbps downstairs. Seems disingenuous on her part. So does claiming the alternative is a $400 router.
Please ask the company whether they are intending to have this in the EU and UK Amazon stores please as currently only available in the US Artful
I will ask! Are you able to purchase directly from their website?
If I was to do that I would be hit with taxes and extra charges making it probably double the price.
Update on this. I just asked and they emailed back saying they are working on getting it officially in amazon UK and EU. And it should be ready within a month.
We will see I guess but hopefully it will be available soon.
I noticed some third party sellers on amazon UK but they are charging twice the listed price on the website. They must have imported themselves from the US.
Hold on, what was that mario game in passthrough?
So my Question is How would you download games to your pc if you don't have a internet connection?
Because all games are download only now. So this doesn't make any sense.
Special thanks to @VRCentral and @Q2CVRGAMER for letting me feature you all in my video! 🙌

can you extend usb 3 connection from puppis to pc
Yes, you obviously need to use a USB 3 (~5Gbps) extension cable and should try to keep it under 10'. I tried with an active 16' and it did not work properly.
05:35 - This part was fun to film 😆
does anyone know what Virtual desktop show as the connection speed?
With the PrismXR Puppis S1, the average speed I'm getting with Virtual Desktop is around 200 Mbps, which is pretty good.
@@HalonaMillerwhat that's not good I get 1200
It would've been interesting to see the Wi-Fi connection speed in Steam VR for a few seconds to see how stable it is. Several Q3 users have had issues with various routers over a WiFi 6 wireless connection due to fluctuating speeds.
Did you do well 🤙🏼
thank you
Can I use this for PCVR without any internet working in my house?
Yeah, just tried it when my internet went out and it worked just fine to play some Into the Radius.
Apologies for the earlier comment. I confused your video with another one I had just watched that was promoting the D-Link AirBridge. I have no experience with the device you are talking about in the video. Again, very sorry 😞
Ty 🫶
resonite representation!
Should have called this something like "Dedicated Wifi for your Quest3".Strange that its not 6E, since that would work better with newer headsets. Sketchy that they claim compatibility with the Vavle Index "Etc". Thats a wired only headset!
Love the diagram at 0:28🤣
That’s a good title! I always struggle with titles
There's a bunch of third party wireless mods for the index, so it's not that sketchy. Though as far as I know most of the companies trying to make them make a couple hundred "influencer examples" and then go bust.
@@jimmydesouza4375 there's one on steam that's "coming soon" 😂
At least they know there's demand. Then again even Sony slept on wireless. Don't know what they were thinking.
I think they mean that you can use it with steam via virtual desktop, steam link, and airlink. That’s why it mentions steam gog and epic
So it's just a fancy D-Link
I guess so, but really fancy and works great
your test is completely incorrect on 06:14 I see 288mbps that is very bad connection. VD has the Performance Overlay you should enable it and show us the connection, everything less stable 1200mbps unacceptable for 300 bitrate that can be compared to default wire connection.
the math isn't mathing here tho? And looks like your expectation of something like this would be to sustain the same bitrate through out the house? a bit silly isn't it?
@@rangerkayla8824 hey, I like that you have wireless PCVR experience and you actually provided numbers and your own experience (VS most of people in the comments on this video :D ). one thing to note is that transmit rate between headset and the router or PC doesn't equal bitrate of the video sent.
During my testing of the Q3 and 6E I was sustaining 2.1 to 2.4gbps transmit rate but only utilizing 300mbps for the signal sent to headset. I never run my headsets on auto, always have them at a fixed rate.
based on encoding I personally see very diminishing return for anything after 300mbps. when running 500mbps it just added more overhead and strain on the network as I don't have dedicated router for Q3 to PC connectivity.
I really thing for something like this puppis thingy it is all about ease of use and convenience. not everyone has the time, knowledge or interest to go through setting up regular routers, configuring channels, making sure you configure it properly... people want things to just work :)
@urfinjuz she knew that but didn't put it on I've seen her enable it in other videos. This is an advert with affiliate links. Anyone with affiliate links shouldn't do "reviews" just tell us about it nothing more
"PCVR on Quest 3 with NO HOME WIFI" proceeds to explain how to use a wifi router for PCVR.
When you dont know what you are talking about :'D
@ItsZeeenic affiliate links that's why
i wanna say...this is wifi.... you can use any usb wifi adaptor and turn on wifi hotspot to do the same thing.
This router is used to have a dedicated wifi connection between your headset and PC. In a home with many devices or not ideal wireless coverage, this router can significantly improve PCVR experience.
yeah this is literally just a wifi6 router, and when you use the usb solution its basically a glorified usb wifi adapter in hotspot mode ;p
@@VRwithJasmine The product page you linked literally says this thing is a wifi 6 router.
An overpriced one at that, you can get a wifi router for around $45 that will do a better job than this thing, and it won't waste two of your USB ports with a worse connection than ethernet will provide.
You can just not connect other things to any wifi 6 router and use it exclusively for the Quest.
Quest 3 also supports wifi 6e, which is better, and you can get one for less than $200.
@@contrabardus I've worked with some of these "will do better job" units and they are pain and a half. hot to take in consideration the ease of use and convenience.
It also looks like you completely disregarded the core function of this router.. No One is saying wifi is better than hardwired (at least in most cases). If you only have ethernet going into your PC and not the greatest wifi coverage this will definitely be helpful.
@@emveezee would be hard pressed to see wifi adapter in this price range that actually can actually reach 2.4G on 160mhz channel :)
All it is, is a wifi 6 barebones router. You can buy those cheaper.
It offers the same transmission speed as AX3000, with the added advantage of being specifically designed for streaming, providing excellent stability and easy setup. The price is also reasonable, as AX3000 routers can cost over $100
But how do you set up a router to do this?
She's just shilling prism stuff, not trying to give a helpful tutorial
Not even a router. It's just a wifi dongle using hotspot.
thank you fellow person with brains. Nothing more than affiliate links
"without WiFi" but it uses a WiFi adapter... title is unnecessarily misleading :(
this device is a WiFi access point. Even the title on the Amazon page says it very clearly "PRISMXR Puppis S1 PC-VR Streaming Air Link Bridge AX3000 WiFi6 Router"
Updated my title! I meant home wifi but I can see now how that can be misinterpreted
That makes perfect sense, thanks!
Not a router. It's just a USB Wifi dongle....you can do the same thing with a 30$ adapter using Windows hotspot.
not the same, its a computer that can encode processing to make sure streaming quality is smooth and highquality. puppies S1 use 1.3ghz processor dual core for that
@@moncimoovso does any £40 router.
you don't need this device. Just get any old router that has 5G capabilities and use that as a dedicated router for airlink... or even easier: check if your pc has a wifi module installed, that can create a 5g hotspot. If you are hard-pressed for cash, you can just connect your phone to your pc and use it as the dedicated router.
Can you please point to a how to vid or write up on how to do this? It seems like all the videos I've watched plug second router into main router and into PC to create a dedicated router setup. My PC is in a different room than my main router, so I'm not able to follow any of them. I'd like to replicate the Puppis S1 setup - in other words second router into PC via ethernet cable to create an airlink with Quest 3.
@@max_gurvits no i don't have a video, but just plug the second router in to your pc via ethernet. That router doesn't need to be able to connect to the internet.
Your pc needs a Wifi-module, via which it connects to your home wifi-router (which is connected to the internet.)
Now your pc is connected to both networks.
Then you just connect your quest to the router that's connected to your pc via ethernet.
The quest doesn't like routers that don't have an internet connection and automatically disconnects after a second (there doesn't seem to be an option to disable this), so you are gonna have to keep reconnecting until the quest miraculously recognizes that there is an airlink pc in that routers network.
For that reason it's not a particularily pretty solution, but it usually connects after about 5-20 cycles of connecting and disconnecting.
@@notlisztening9821 thank you for taking the time to reply! I followed your suggestion but also turned "internet sharing" in my wifi adapter settings. Everything seems to be working at the moment! Quest 3 has internet and Virtual Desktop is happy.
For a video like this it is completely pointless to show gameplay, because all that 99% of viewers will be interested about are raw numbers! Yet you have not shown any of the most important information, such as bitrates for example.
I actually had it in there but I accidentally uploaded the wrong video file 😭
@@VRwithJasmine No offence though, keep up the good work!
