    Spanish rice, also known as Mexican rice, red rice, or arroz rojo is an homemade delicious dish.
    Here is an easy Spanish/Mexican rice recipe. It's so healthy, simple and you can make it fast and quick. This is the best Spanish rice recipe you've ever tried 😋

    📝you'll need:
    200g rice
    2 tbsp vegetable oil
    1 onion
    1 tsp turmeric
    2 cloves of garlic
    1 jalapeno pepper
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp paprika
    1 cup tomato paste (is better to use tomato sauce instead)
    1 cup chicken stock

    Jist made this. I never liked Spanish rice until I made this. Very good. Only thing I did differently was used one red pepper instead of a jalapeño. And I definitely have to cut the simmer time down by 5 minutes.

    I always hate it when they don't always scrape all the rice or whatever into the dish, like wasting the remains. I hate waste.

      That’s just for the camera so it looks good -.- most content creators cut the video anyway and put the remaining stuff after you assume they leave the stuff in bowls. Take a closer look on more videos, you will see more stuff in the pan after the video is cut. It’s just for show, relax, stop being so mad

    You listed tomato paste but used tomato sauce or puree. I'll use tomato paste in mine. Authentic Spanish people use paste. I do like and prefer your method of preparation though.

      I definitely think it was tomato sauce which is what should be used …not tomato paste.

      @@susanb5058 so it did turn into marinara sauce after the water simmered off. I improvised and strained the marinara sauce out of the rice. I then rinsed the rice, added salsa and fried it up a bit…turned out really good lol.
      But if you are looking for tomato rizzoto, stick with this videos recipe ;)

      @@resone3645 that’s pretty funny but I’m glad you were able to salvage it. I make this type of rice all the time and I just use 1/2 cup of tomato sauce or sometimes I use about 3 plum tomatoes that I purée in the food processor. So good.

    Did you add uncooked rice and then cooked it in chiken broth or you added cooked rice?

      He added washed rice and let it simmer for 30 minutes after adding everything else

    Do you mean soak the rice for 30 mins instead of rinse? Also do you mean crushed tomatoes because that's not tomato paste. The paste is extremely thicker.

      Just cooked this another day. Delicious as always. I may suggest if you have a tomasto paste, indeed it is super thick, then u may add a bit of water( few tb.sp) to a paste to make it more liquid and then add it to the rice just like in the video. I made it with a paste and it was as amazing in my opinion!:) great recipe overall!!!

    The final product shows red flecks of something that was not in your original ingredient list. Have you ever tried adding annatto to your chicken stock?

    that tomato paste was very liquidy, mine is like an actual paste... should I mix with water to get that consistency?

      Yes adding a little bit of water would help

      You can use pure tomato sauce also if you don’t have pasta . That’s what I did and was great

    That is tomato puree! In Australia tomato paste is very thick. I made this with what we call tomato paste + the stock and it was really too thick to cook properly and it was gluggy unfortunately, however the flavour was amazing though.

    That's not tomato paste. Is it tomato sauce? Tomato paste is very thick not runny like the video shows.

    This is a great recipe. I duplicated it and it is good.
    The text indicates tomato paste, a cup of tomato paste is a hell of a lot of tomato. The video clearly shows the use of tomato sauce.
    200 grams of rice. This is the only metric measurement, why? Stick to imperial or metric.

    That didn't look like tomato paste or sauce, at least not the kind of consistency you'd typically see in the states. It looked more like salsa.

      I add chicken, sausage and shrimp at the end. Depending on what I feel like. All these meats have been previously cooked before adding. I also add black beans and/or green beans.

      It removes excess starch. I do the same with my cut up potatoes when making french fries. So yeah, there is purpose behind the seeming madness.

      I think that's why she used sauce instead of paste. If paste is used, you would have to increase the liquid with either water or more chicken stock or maybe both. Too much broth may make it too salty unless you use unsalted.

    I like this, all except the vegetable oil. it is very unhealthy oil to consume!
