Just turned 39, was paralyzed from the chest down less than 5 years ago and the doctors said i would probably never walk again....
I do 2 a day runs of about 3-5 miles each time almost every day of the week now.....God is great. And dont ever let anyone tell you that all hope is gone. We are incredible beings.

Just a word of caution from someone who is well-past 29. I used to run on hard surfaces like pavement, bricks, asphalt, etc., and loved sprinting up my favorite hills…until all that hard impact caused my L1-L2 disc to blow up. Part of the disc herniated into my spinal canal and It caused early stage Cauda Equina Syndrome, which puts many people in wheelchairs. So, be careful…Just saying…

I am a 86 year old retired US Army Vietnam two time wounded and then 14 year police officer. I don't go walking any longer other for the bathroom run. I joined the US Army at age 17 and went to jump school. I got out of the Army after the first three years, but couldn't get a job so re enlisted and that turned into 20 years. I don't miss it for a minute. The police duty was the worst due to much younger men jealous of my getting the promotions and their slow response time when I called for assistance, and it was obvious they were hoping I didn't survive. Of all those AH Officers nine have passed away most from booze.

Wrong, avoid running as much as possible the vibration in your knees from hitting the concrete, degrades the cartilage, it will significantly damage your knees over time. You can counter this by jogs on the beach or even better just do stair master for cardio. If you are not a professional athlete do not do this to your body trust me.

Yes, I am 48 years old and my body is that smashed up and broken I can hardly bloody walk, let alone run. Years of excessive over exertion on a regular daily basis greatly depleted the function of my joints and muscles. Being literally forced to overexert the capability of my body resulted in the massive unscalable incapability that my body is now enduring on a daily basis is like living in a nightmare that you can never wake up from.
Many military veterans can understand exactly where I'm coming from. I served my country for ten solid years. I can definitely appreciate the fact that you have served your country too. Military life can be hard sometimes. Hard on you physically and definitely harder on you mentally. I can say that I am proud to have served my country. My body is broken as a result. BUT I am proud of my time as a protector of my country.

But the issue it's when You pair your performance with Your prime time and later on in the time your performance will be way lower.
