I am 61 years old and have worked out for the past 30 years and have never had such wonderful results without using weights and jumping around. I have been practicing with you since early February this year (2018) This is the 2nd time around for the 18 days of yoga which I finished last month and came back to do it again and I just finished day 4 and I am even more excited about yoga now after this class. Your instruction on how to go into splits is amazing. I had to sit on 2 blocks but I actually was able to do it. I am looking forward to completing this series for the 2nd time and moving on to more of your classes. I love your teaching style you are so detailed and give so many modifications it is wonderful. Thank you so much.

I'll be 67 next month and have been practicing yoga for 16 years now. I may not be able to do everything that I once was able to do, but I do what I can. These 18 day videos are VERY challenging for me but I love them. Your videos are wonderful as is your knowledge of anatomy, alignment and safety. Thank you for making all these practice opportunities available to all of us. Even my 74 year husband enjoys many of the videos. And so does one of our neighbors who is 65 yrs young.

Wow this is the 3rd time around for me doing this 18 day challenge. This is so amazing and still so very challenging. I am now able to sit on just one block to do my splits it is so amazing and I am so much more flexible than when I started over a year ago. Can't wait for day 5 tomorrow. Awesome Awesome practice. Namaste!!!!

I was excited that you incorporated the standing split. I did a few of them yesterday to see how flexible I am. Going to purchase some blocks to help with the sitting splits. I'm feeling more energized after 4 consecutive days of yoga practices. Namaste. 🧘‍♀️💛

Brett, I REALLY appreciate all details you included, for instance, not letting our thighs and other body parts be "dead" things but rather, engaged. The details make all the difference - your sharing is so completly generous. You're the best, Brett. During the splits I had a couple of, Are you effing kidding me?? lol. And I fell over a lot but I saw you made a video that has tips for balance so I'm going to watch that next. Thanks for ALL you do. xo :)

Awesome flexibility practice! My hamstrings/low back are the areas in my body with the least amount of flexibility, so this class was perfect for getting to those areas. On an emotional level, flexibility is much more challenging for me than strength. I have always had to be strong, so it is a trait which comes naturally to me, out of necessity. But flexibility has always been a tough one for me. My task is to find the balance between strength and flexibility, because they are two sides of the same coin, and I think balance between the two will benefit me greatly. I actually did the strength practice right before this one, so I got to see in real time the juxtoposition of each, and how I can use one to play off of the other.
Thank you Brett, for this series. I am really enjoying it so far!

Even though I'm not doing these every day, I am still following the journey of the 18 days. Today was the hardest, and I think it was both in body and in mind. I've been having trouble recently with flexibility in my life and I had never thought of that term before. Thank you for helping open me up to it and for sharing this practice. Namaste.

Day four today, and I can not thank you enough for making this challenge. I'm a total Yoga newbie, and NEVER would have suspected I was capable of going into splits. Then I did this session this morning, and it worked! I haven't felt this proud and thankful for my body in a long time. Thank you so so much, I can't wait to see what else in store for me during this challenge.

Love loved this one!! My hammies were tight today from lots of leg work this week, so I thought there was no way I would be able to get into splits, but I did - as far as I've ever gone. With one leg having scar tissue from a pulled hamstring, I have struggled to get my flexibility back. Will keep coming back to this one! Thank you Brett!!☺️

  • @eyonwomon21

I did this video for I think the 3rd time in a week, so much love. Also a tip, my knee was a bit sore to put the pressure on it required to bend the back leg in lizard so I placed a small cushion under the knee for the 2nd (left side), and suddenly the strap wasn't necessary and I could get my heel to my bum in two breaths, which wasn't possible on the right side which I know is actually more open. So I did the right side again with knee cushioning and was so pleased. It just shows how sometimes inflexibility is caused by discomfort somewhere, even if the discomfort is unrelated to the stretch itself!!! After doing this I got full splits on the left within 20 breaths which wasn't possible with 25 breaths on the right even though I did it yesterday. Magic!

squaring the hips in splits is a great tip. I am fairly flexible and consider a sloppy split a resting pose. making myself think about proper alignment make split challenging again, but in a good way :)

I feel satisfied with the level of my splits. Although they are not without blocks, I am happy with my flexibility. I don't reach back and grab my foot during lizard pose as it ALWAYS causes a cramp in my quad. I also feel satisfied with the level of flexibility I offer myself and others. A lot of it has to do with surrendering control. When I am in control mode I am very rigid and inflexible, but when I just AM I can flow throughout my day. Namaste!

Hi! I´ve started making my way through these videos and loving them! One question for this one - is the straight leg or straight back more important during these stretches and folds? I have lower back problems and in previous yoga classes, teachers have said that I should bend my knee/s to keep my back straight. I know that as my hamstring lengthens, everything will become easier! Thank you for these videos :)

    • @BrettLarkinYoga

This one worked better! I still wonder how to approach splits if even a block is too close to the ground..... Namaste.

I have such mixed thoughts here, while I love the poses and how you explain them I don't love how rushed you seem.

Hi Brett, you mention in the class about another video that explains why your body creaks and cracks and what that actually is, I don't see the link to it, please can you let me know where I can find it? Namaste xx

This is not for beginners, you're going so fast it's hard to keep up with, but it is a challenge. Thanks.
