"Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs", and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" formed a trilogy of music videos with the group, the Eliminator car, and the hot girls. In each video, they all show up and the guys act as sort of "Fairy Godmothers", or more accurately, "Hairy Godfathers" .
Such a fun song! This rock band was formed in 1969. They were popular for their live performances, sly humorous lyrics & the matching appearances of Billy Gibbons & Dusty Hill, who wore sunglasses, hats & long beards. Sadly Dusty Hill passed away in 2021. Some of their other hits are "La Grange", "Tush", "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Legs" etc.
When I was best man for my best friend's wedding and we were all forced to wear tuxes, we kept reminding ourselves that "every girl's crazy about a sharp dressed man". This is one of their songs that has been used in so much pop culture it would have been had to not have heard at least the chorus to it. And in ZZ Top fashion, having the three girls come to the rescue of some poor schlub in the Eliminator coupe is something to look forward to. Now you really need to do "Legs" where they come to the aid of a damsel in distress.
I loved ZZ Top since birth lol my Mom and Dad loved them and my Grandmaw too lol so I heard them a lot, with Garth Brooks and Bob Seger close behind lol have a shirt of theirs before I was born from my mom's stuff so can karaoke all their hits lol
Soooo i don't normally watch "reaction" videos. I came across this while looking for karaoke versions of ZZ Top songs, believe it or not. So now you get my reaction! A few points. First point. Kathy wins the award for best chair-dancing. Nice job. Nobody will catch me dancing on YT. But good for you. Second point. All through school I didnt have a favorite band-- unlike some of the kids who were wearing Led Zeppelin T-shirts or drawing Twisted Sister logos on their binders. But one day the classic rock station was doing "twofer Tuesday" and they played two songs in a row that I loved. And what do you know? They're both ZZ Top and I just didn't know it. On my lunch hour (summer job) I walked to a music store and bought Greatest Hits. Every one of the 18 tracks was an explosion of greatness, and ZZ Top has been my favorite or 2nd favorite band ever since. Including dozens of concerts and backstage visits and getting them to know me by name. Third point. Billy is one cool cat. As much as the old management tried to keep the mystique up with the sunglasses and so on, behind Billy's sunglasses are the kindest friendliest blue eyes you ever saw. A real southern gentleman. He doesn't even hold it against me if I'm at a loss for words just from being a little nervous around my guitar hero. What an absolute boss. But also: if you're visiting with them and miss a beat, he will disappear on you like a ninja into the shadows. Even faster than in those videos, he'll be gone without a trace. Very supernatural. Final point: I fully endorse and agree on the suggestions to look at Velcro Fly and Burger Man -- "similar but different" -- each for particular reasons I put in my replies to those suggestions, and each interesting to review in its own right. What I really wonder: Since we all love ZZ Top now, would you be willing to take a gamble on a video from my other favorite band? It would take me a hot minute to pick the exact song. They're live concert videos and a million to choose from. But I guarantee you've never seen anything as much fun. The only question is whether you're stuck on classic rock, or are you willing to go off the reservation a little? You have a GREAT vid here, actually the best "reaction" video I've seen. Really enjoyed it. Thank you! And look forward to maybe introducing you to another super talented musician and showman, if you're up to it. 🎸🥁🎸 ✌🏻
Billy is always the one with the deep deep voice,Dusty sounds abit more lighter and often supports Billys voice in the car. I know Donna asked earlier about the car,and im sure it has been answered by now,but Billys car (he has several old classic cars) even has its own name, and its The Eliminator. It features in just about every music video of theyrs, and is probably theyr most known trademark to date besides the long beards. The Eliminator is theyr very own "superhero car" in alot of ways. "The Eliminator was built for the rock band ZZ Top and has been featured in many of the band's videos. It's a sleek hot rod made from a '33 Ford Coupe in bright red with the ZZ Top logo on the side" 8:22 That southern slang,i absolutely love it,Lulu! You are unhinged dear lady, never change hahaha! Funfact: Theyr song Doubleback was actually the main soundtrack for Back To The Future with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd in the lead roles. (this is not a intended suggestion, but i recommend the song as it is soo good) What i do suggest though, from hearing you mention the guys dance moves in Sharp Dressed Man,is my favourite song by them: ZZ Top - Velcro Fly. Dusty Hill is amazing in that video! And Billy Gibbons brings out his customed special guitar wich im gonna let be a surpise when that day comes. The overall music video is of the kind that would make Quagmire from Family Guy go: Giggity Giggity Goo! But in ZZ Tops fun, respectable and entertaining way. ZZ Top loves theyr women Im trying to think of a good song where Dustys voice is more dominant. ZZ Top - Tush Live From Crossroads Guitar Festival 2004 (Dusty singing lead) If you want to break out laughter from Lulu while watching ZZ Top,i suggest: ZZ Top -Burger Man. But any of these last ones arent really suggestions expected to be reacted to within any timeline. Just some friendly tips.
Actually gonna wholeheartedly agree that Velcro Fly would be great as would Burger Man. Velcro Fly because of the fantastic choreography and the camera trickery used to make the dance moves look so unusual. Can you spot what they did to the video?? And obviously Burger Man because it's an awesome example of the band doing so many classic things. They ride to the rescue as usual, albeit in a spacecraft since it's Afterburner not Eliminator. But they still have their "helpers" to deal with Burger Man, you have the onset of the environment theme ("don't dump your toxic waste in the lake!", very 80's) that they continued through Recycler. And obviously you have all the coordinated hand gestures and motions directing the helpers what to do with that nasty Burger Man. The list of bad ZZ Top videos is very short. And neither of those are on it by any stretch of the imagination! 🌟Easter egg: listen to what's on the radio when the toxic sludge dumpers pull up to the drive-in to annoy the girl working at the counter in Burger Man. I get a kick every time that video starts just from that one little tidbit. 💯🔥
Brings back memories. I bought their “First Album” on 8-track tape in the early 70’s. I had concert tickets for another band that was to play at the Tulsa Assembly Center but they had to cancel. They said they would refund our tickets if we wanted but that they had a replacement band to fill in - that band was ZZ Top. There was no way we would ask for a refund, we wanted to see ZZ Top more than the original band. Keep up the good work on showcasing the music - all of you ladies do a great job with your reactions and comments.
Some of the younger ones might not know about this MTV deal. It was a cable TV channel that used to play music videos all the time. SO there was this time when if you had a great *video* for your song, that went a long way to getting the song popular and selling more tapes or whatever you would have bought. Possibly records. Possibly an 8-track. But not a CD and definitely no digital download or streaming! Yep it sure was the old days, going to a music store to buy music. I don't even know how we do it now 😋
Another fun one from this album is TV Dinners...and Got Me Under Pressure is worth a listen too. Funny thing about this band is their names are Billy Gibbons, and Dusty Hill with the beards, and the drummer...the only guy without a beard, is named Frank Beard😂
The video for "TV Dinners" is hilarious. A throwback to the days of upright 25¢ video arcade games, and this newfangled microwave oven thing that really did make some amazingly bad food. I can't believe it took so long for us to work out how to make half decent food come out of a microwave. Some of those TV dinners were just... ug. My reaction to the TV Dinners video is all about what a good job the alien does. He wants his MTV!!👾✊🏻
A fun ZZ video is Velcro Fly, if you haven't, give it a try. Make sure it's the actual music video, as the dancing was choreographed by Ms. Paula Abdul.
ZZ Top is incredibly cool, always fun and always just all around good, decent guys. Billy has one of the all time greatest guitar tones and is notoriously kind. I feel like they're impossible not to like.
Don Thelan built the original of this vehicle, called the “Eliminator Car,” in 1983 on behalf of Billy Gibbons based on a 1933 Ford coupé, who wanted to use it as a symbol for the next album. "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" form a trilogy and are the most watched videos on MTV. But my favorite piece is an older song by that little ol' Band from Texas called "Blue Jean Blues" from the album Fandango!. ua-cam.com/video/kkHwmgllq3o/v-deo.html If you ever react to their Hit "La Grange" then take the version from their Live performance at Howardt Stern. ua-cam.com/video/yWMnxyIhCDw/v-deo.html
Donna, that car is a 1933 Ford Coupe which has been heavily modified. Billy Gibbons the lead singer/lead guitar player owns it. The car is currently on display at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
Nicknamed the Eliminator it was built in 1983 exclusively for the album of the same name Eliminator it was featured in the 3 music videos of sharp dressed man, gimmie all your lovin, and legs

I saw them live 3 times and had the best time at every show. The first was notable in that I didn't know who they were. Teens can be stupid but in my defense I think it was their first national tour. I was in the crowd to see Deep Purple and ZZ Top was the opening act. At one point they were using a motorcycle chain to beat on the drum cymbals. The crowd was so into them, they were still shouting for another encore as Deep Purple began their set. Phenomenal.
When I sing this song being a Master drywaller I change the lyrics to “Well Hung Man”! 🍆🤔🫦🚬 Pun intended ! Because we really know what every girl’s crazy about
Bill Gibbons was Jimi Hendrix’s favourite guitarist apparently, as well as Jeff Beck and I think he had a lot of respect for robert Fripp from King Crimson as well
Billy Gibbons told a story where he heard Jimi Hendrix was in the same hotel and he went and knocked on his room door and Jimi grabbed him and pulled him into his room where he was listening to Jeff Beck and asked Billy how he thought Jeff made certain sounds. I love stories of great musicians admiring each other.
Legs was always my fav Video I think I was in my late teens when it came out. The young guy and the 3 ladies were in all the Eliminator album videos (I think).
Clips from BTTF3 and other newly produced "Western-themed" videography featuring ZZ Top are both in the band's video for "Doubleback", which was written for that movie.
I enjoy you gals doing things together and making memories. You will as is know to happen fight and argue as you grow older but these times will always be the best of times.
@@KathyLuluandDonna LOL, if you say so. Check it out. Not all fun and games. ;O) Once we did an outdoor show at a small baseball park. I brought the staging. The area we where to set up was on the outside of the outfield wall. That wasn't that high but we had to get above it. There was a concrete walk that lead to about 1/2 of the way to that spot. After that it was grass. It had rained a few days before our load in. It looked OK so we started to run the tractor trailer truck out and it promptly got stuck. Oh well. We had a couple of forklifts so we were just going to try to off load right there. The first lift got stuck as well. We ended up unloading a lot of the flatbed by hand. We built a road out of extra plywood we always carried to use the 2nd lift to unload the rest and get it to the build area. The staging area turned out to be even worse. In those situations we put cut plywood squares under the leveling screw jacks to keep them from sinking. We used a lot them. As the stage went up it got heavier and heavier and we kept jacking it up to keep it level. Fortunately the jacks had enough height to deal with it. We managed to get the truck & lift out of the way later. Sound, lights & band gear showed up the next morning and I told those guys about the soggy load in area. We expanded the plywood road to keep those trucks from getting stuck. The show went off as scheduled but we were pretty played out getting it there. Just a behind the scenes thing that most people never know about. ;O)
@@KathyLuluandDonna we have a kid here at the house named Silas, Si for short and we recently found out that his brother's wife is going to have a baby, so he's going to be Uncle Si lol. I'd love to meet Uncle Si that guy is a trip!
ZZ Top, seen them in Concert 4 times, so good, the only other bands I have seen as much live: Beach Boys and Pink Floyd, saw them also 4 times in concert.
Same three guys, same three chords, for 50+ years. Best three piece band in Texas. RIP Dusty.
1933 Ford Coupe called the Eliminator.
Think it's a '34. '33 was rhe base model. They added options on the '34 that didn't exist on the '33.
great name cause he knocked out some tail with that car lol and album named same
And yes very very famous car
@jamesdelong1751 ZZ Tops car was a 1933 ford 3 window custom coupe.
33 Ford 3 window coupe
That car became as iconic as their beards and everyone wanted the ZZ key ring. What a great, fun band to listen too!
Eliminator lol he still owns it
"Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs", and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" formed a trilogy of music videos with the group, the Eliminator car, and the hot girls. In each video, they all show up and the guys act as sort of "Fairy Godmothers", or more accurately, "Hairy Godfathers" .
"Hairy Godfathers!" 🤣
Southern rock, East Texas style. Great band.
'33 Ford DeLuxe coupe , with a chopped top . Owned by Billy F. Gibbons .
One of ZZ Tops best songs 🎵 ❤

The car was a 1933 Ford Coupe. When I hear ZZ top I think of that car! Cars and guitars, what's better...well, maybe goats. 😉

Back in the day when I was in the concert biz I worked with these guys a few times. Fun shows. ;O)
Wow lucky you
@@KathyLuluandDonna LOL, if you say so. Check it out. Not all fun and games. ;O)
Once we did an outdoor show at a small baseball park.
Just a behind the scenes thing that most people never know about. ;O)
I like the time they sang this with Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty
Kathy, Donna and Chad saw Uncle Si at a crawfish festival in Houston a few years ago.
@@KathyLuluandDonna we have a kid here at the house named Silas, Si for short and we recently found out that his brother's wife is going to have a baby, so he's going to be Uncle Si lol. I'd love to meet Uncle Si that guy is a trip!
